@Peanits what else could it be? Windows? Maybe EAC?
I know you are probably to busy and you have better things to do, but I have to ask cuz I have no clue to how to fix it: Would you mind to test it out by yourself so you could help me to fix that issue? The last working version was 4.0.2, the newer versions haven't worked previously anyway and I tried them today without success.
Thanks in regard.
If you recently updated ReShade and it no longer works, I would suggest trying to use the last version that did work for you. Beyond that, I unfortunately don't have anything else to recommend.

A comment from @Peanits actually changes my opinion greatly.

If true, it will make the Legion bearable, at least for me.
It is true. I just double checked to be sure.

Sorry for the late response, for whatever reason I didn't get a notification. As not_Queen mentioned, as long as you report that sort of thing in-game, our ACM team will be able to deal with the report. All the information that we need will be stored in the in-game report.

I'm sorry but these changes are terrible and only serve to hurt the Legion more than actually change it for the better. Please reconsider what you're doing as this only proves to me that Legion is dead after this goes through.
Missed attacks should never cause their power to deplete, their speed should remain as it is while in Frenzy, and frenzy hits should do damage like it currently does. It takes four hits to down and you become stunned half of those hits should you decide to go that route. Turning them into an M1 killer that is easily loopable with a pointless power is ridiculous.
Missing an attack will not cause your power to be depleted, it would only end your Feral Frenzy. For example, if you missed your attack at 75% charge, you would only have to wait ~5 seconds to use your power again.
We are putting these changes on the PTB before they go live. We can always make changes based on the feedback we receive. I would strongly suggest giving it a try before coming to any conclusions.

@Peanits Why aren't we improving the Legion's core vision? Why are we only removing the tools Killers adapted to move past that limitation?
These changes do actually work with the original design of the killer. Compared to before, The Legion will be able to travel further while in Feral Frenzy, allowing them to apply Deep Wound to multiple survivors, while also discouraging using Feral Frenzy repeatedly against one survivor. At the same time, The Legion also gets increased movement speed to follow up and get a down.

I am still puzzled to how exaclty one can get Deranged Pursuit, even with the add-on that let's frenzy attacks damage the Deep Wound meter when Deep Wound don't tick down while in the terror radius and you don't have a clue how much of it is remaining.
Are you supposed to stab that person a few times, follow them around, find another survivor and strike them and find the guy you've been following since you started stabbing them and stab them that one final (hopefully) time?
It's so #########. They might as well change Deranged Pursuit to be "have all four survivors in the Deep Wound state simultaneously." because this is just absurd.
It'll work like this:
"In public matches, as the Legion, down 25 different Survivors that have Deep Wound applied."
You do not need to down someone with Feral Frenzy, you just need to down somebody with Deep Wound.

Okay I found out the issue, it's ReShade.
@Peanits can you help me out? I used version 4.0.2 for months now without any issues. Last time I played was yesterday. Today out of the sudden it's seems like not to be compatible anymore, I get the crash report screen on every start up with ReShade. Without ReShade it works fine. But I haven't changed anything, so my closest guess is that the developers changed something or so. U have a fix for me? I literally can't play without ReShade anymore, my eyes are hurting.
We have not made any changes on our end. There hasn't been any updates since last week.

As another console game, the miss and immediate cancel of Feral Frenzy is the most concerning. 360s are far too easy to pull off on console and Feral Frenzy misses are rather frequent. If this change stays, Legion will be pretty much dead on console. The rest of the changes, I do not mind with a little tweaking.
@not_Queen and @Peanits Do you know if when these changes were suggested, that the devs considered console Legion mains or were we again the forgotten population?
This is something that could be changed if need be. It will be going to the PTB before it goes live, and we'll be keeping a close eye on the feedback there.
It's also worth noting that this doesn't empty Feral Frenzy, it only cancels it. So if you swing and miss with 75%, you'll only have to wait ~5 seconds before you can activate it and try again.
-
We're looking into this as we speak. Some regions on PS4 are experiencing connection issues at the moment. We'll do our best to keep you posted.
-
I would suggest giving it a try before jumping to conclusions. It will be on the PTB before the changes go live and if need be, we can always make changes between the PTB and live.

@Peanits Those deep wound changes also will affect the borrowed time?
The deep wound changes affect the deep wound status effect, so yes, the changes are the same across the board.
-
Thank you for the feedback. These are good points and I'll bring it up with the team. There are very good reasons behind the changes and it would be nice to be able to share them with you.
-
There are some connection issues in some regions on PS4. We are currently investigating the issue but don't have any updates at this time.
-
There seems to be some connection issues on PS4 specifically. We are currently looking into it.
-
That is not how it is done, and even if you did manage to select a killer like that, it would have been excluded from our data. Only the people who are intentionally abusing it will be punished.

@Peanits @HavelmomDaS1 It seems the game wont load with ReShade as of today. I've had reshade for 2 years now with the game and its been fine. Any official word if ReShade has been banned?
We have not made any changes and ReShade is still whitelisted by EAC. This may just be an issue on your end.
-
We are only checking public matches at this time.

@Pennywise said:
What is concerning about this "warning" is this is happening completely random and to my knowledge no one knows how to replicate it. I've been in one of these games as one of the killers and everyone stuck around out of curiosity.
If BHVR are going to start dishing out bans for something players never intended to happen and have no control over, I think that is a very poor way of dealing with the issue.
It's not something you can do by accident and it's not random, you have to go out of your way and do several steps to make it happen. We have a way to verify who is the real killer (i.e. who started the lobby) and who is the "fake" killer(s). If you are the real killer and someone does the exploit in your lobby, you are safe, we are not going to ban legitimate players.
-
It might just be nostalgia at work but I love the Winter Solstice one. I can't say I really hate any of them, though.
-
To clarify a few things:
- They are temporary bans, not permanent.
- We are not banning anyone that just uses the add-ons, we are reviewing each report individually and carefully checking our data. If someone hasn't touched legion in months and suddenly picked them back up overnight and joined the legion fanclub and just so happened to equip those specific add-ons right away match after match, for example. If you are not intentionally abusing it, you're fine.
- Exploit abuse has always been a bannable offense as is covered by the EULA and our game rules (which can be found here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest)
-
@Someissues said:
You should make it clear, you were talking about the two Killers exploit. Yes that's a bannable offense but only those abusing it.
One person has to be teaming with the Killer in order to do this, so 2 out of 4 survivors is responsible for the glitch and should be banned
But I doubt Devs will be banning and I'm against it, there's too few survivors already and queues are insanely long at high rank
We will be banning for it.
-
Thanks for the suggestion. This is something that we have considered doing in the past, however, we don't have any plans to do so at this time. We definitely like the idea though, it's just not a priority right now.
-
@PolarBear said:
@Peanits Who do we report in that situation? Can you even see the other killer so you could report them?
Report whoever you can see (you'll probably only see one of the killers because there's only room for one on the leaderboard). We can then take the data from that report and investigate that match further. Don't worry to much about reporting the wrong guy in this case, we understand and we're not going to ban them if they're the real killer.
-
Your progress is not tied to your name (especially since multiple people can have the same name on PC), it's tied to a unique ID. You can safely change your name without losing your progress.
-
A counter next to their name wouldn't do too much. Having a red flag saying, "Hey, this guy is going to DC on you" without actually doing anything about it isn't really fixing the problem. We've got some ideas for how we would like to punish disconnecting in the future, but unfortunately we don't have anything set in stone to share just yet.

@LordziPL said:
Thank you for answering. But if exploit killer is the real killer in my Ending Screen (but I was host of game)
I believe the end screen shows the killer that has the most points at the time, similar to the way the survivor with the most points is shown at the top of the leaderboard. Don't worry, we have data that shows who the real killer is.

@KingB said:
@Peanits the problem with that is you can run across the map but you dont know which gen is being worked on. It wouldnt be that annoying because if the killer had all 5 tokens they probably have at least 1 kill in which case a 3 gen is going to be hard to deal with anyways. Plus it will be wasteful to kick a gen under 30%. It will take longer yes but not anymore annoying than 3 gens are already.
That's true, but it's also something you could keep in mind as you patrol and chase survivors. Typically I'll know which generator I'm going to kick before I hook the survivor.
-
The real killer would not be banned, only the ones doing the exploit.

@Peanits or...Soon™?
Soon™
* Assuming soon is a window between now and the end of the week.
-
Not necessarily tomorrow, just some time this week. Which includes tomorrow.
Basically that's a long drawn out way to say that it may or may not be tomorrow.
-
I wouldn't say no to the token one because I already really like the perk and that would be very convenient for me. My only concern there is that saving up 5 tokens and going on a generator kicking rampage at the end of the game might be annoying. But just to give some perspective on the current PGTW:
- You get 30 seconds to kick a generator.
- Assuming you move at 4.6m/s, you can cover 138m before the timer runs out.
You should be able to get to whichever generator you want, even if it's clear across the map. You can also hook the person closer to the generator you want to kick to save yourself some time. Increasing the timer does not seem necessary.
But still, it would be a very nice QOL change without making the perk overpowered.

@Boss said:
It's not bugged.
Devs have explained why it does what it does currently.
They want Insidious to make it look like you're going away.
Insidious takes 2 seconds to activate.
Once it does, the Terror Radius starts shrinking over the course of ~4 seconds.
That's what you see on your Insidious Perk icon ingame.
This is correct. If your terror radius instantly disappeared, anyone who's close to you would instantly know that you're just standing still. If your terror radius gradually shrinks, it can trick people into thinking you just left the area.
-
I never knew I wanted this, but I do.
-
Thanks for the feedback. This would be pretty nice, although ten per day might be a little much. At some point the daily part gets too demanding for people who only have time to play a couple games. If I were to get rituals that require me to play three different killers and two different survivors and only had an hour or so to play each day, there's a pretty good chance I wouldn't get them all done. Having fewer rituals that reward more points would make them a little more accessible.
-
It's still too early for that. He's getting there, but he's not at the point where he's final. If we shared it that soon there's a good chance that what we would be showing you would be changed between then and release.
-
That's a very interesting idea. It should probably specify that it's only when the killer is carrying a survivor just to avoid confusion, but I'll pass it on.
-
It should be up now. You'll have to forgive me but he won't say "groovy" when you select him here.
-
Yes, that is being looked into as well.

I loved this Dev Update.
Quick question @not_Queen is there any update on the perk MoM? are you at least discussing if it needs tweaking? I see a lot of people (myself included) complaining about it.
Thanks!
We've been keeping a close eye on the feedback for it and passing it on to the design team. We definitely see the concerns, but we also don't want to make any hasty decisions. We'll be sure to keep you posted on it if we have something to share.

Will the Legion mend bug be fixed? Having to hold a single button down for 5+ minutes isn't fun at all.
It's a known issue and we have a fix internally.

We're glad you liked it. We tried something different with this past chapter and decided to switch it up after seeing the feedback. We're looking to bring back some of the favourites like Q&As and streams as well.

My thoughts are that the devs lied about reworking him and pumped out more DLC, if we are being completely honest.
Nope. Conveniently enough he's actually mentioned in our first Developer Update: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/57097/developer-update-april-2019
He's actually real. It's happening.
-
Thank you for the detailed feedback. I've passed this along to the team.
-
We would like to be more strict on those who do disconnect to begin with. That would greatly reduce how often that happens. Aside from that, I can pass this along to the team and see if we can maybe find a way to compensate the other people in the lobby when somebody disconnects.

They're just codenames in alphabetical order.

@NoShinyPony said:
There is kind of a "map of the day" in the algorithm. That means that you have a higher chance to get a specific map. Yesterday, it was probably Rotten Fields day.
Yes and no. There is a system that allows us to control how often a map will appear. Typically we'll use this to make a new map appear more often when it's released so everyone gets a chance to try it out. As far as a "map of the day", that isn't the case currently, it's completely down to luck.
