  • I prefer a minimal HUD, personally, so this is something I wouldn't want. I feel like it's easy enough to remember which addons you brought into the match. Perks, on the other hand, light up when they become active, so I can understand why those need to be on screen.

I heard we weren't going to get him at least anytime soon, I feel that consoles should get an exclusive survivor since PC got one... just my opinion

They didn't intend for Bill to be exclusive to PC, just like they didn't intend for Legacy to exclude those who came after Nov 2016.

Legacy is totally intended to exclude those who came after the cutoff. It was made as a reward to those who had prestiged before the bloodwebs were made significantly easier. Basically, giving it to people who came after that and get to level up with cheaper bloodwebs is just a huge slap in the face to those who had to grind relentlessly to get it in the first place.

If you came after that, your reward is not having to grind anywhere near as much.

I don't think it's that unfair, actually. Being the last one alive doesn't warrant a free escape. If the killer finds it first, that's fair game, he beat you to it. If you manage to get another generator done, you get another shot at it.

I think if you have survived thus far as to have the hatch as an option being the last survivor in the trial it should be not only a skill test for the survivor, but a skill test for the killer as well. Its not fun when theres no hope of escaping. Why not level the playing field a little at this point? Some of the suggestions i've seen could make it more fun for both the killers AND survivors.

Being the last survivor isn't necessarily a feat, though. If things are going poorly and I hide in a corner, I'll be the last one alive, but it doesn't mean that I should be on a level playing field with the killer. The difference is that the killer has to earn it. They don't just end up killing the other three survivors by chance. At that point, they've done tremendously well and to put them on a level field with someone who just happened to be the last to die seems unfair to me.

That would be pretty sweet. I've seen some great ideas for moris knocking around, and moris are basically cosmetic anyway.

Almost, cause if someone really wants to win, he also looks at the duration of the animation.
But that sounds cool, especially original 3 could use some love in Mori animation department ;)

True, although a couple seconds for an instant kill probably isn't going to make or break a game. At the very least, you'd still be way ahead because you have moris in the first place.

  • That would be pretty sweet. I've seen some great ideas for moris knocking around, and moris are basically cosmetic anyway.

  • Low key, Waldo Dwight.

But I'm also happy to finally be able to match my shirt.

  • Truly outrageous, isn't it? They should delay the next chapter for a couple weeks while they work on recording the pinnacle of nose-honking sounds.

  • Dead by Daylight just got a hell of a lot more shirtless.

I feel like giving the survivor a speed boost and preventing the killer from grabbing you basically just means a free hatch escape for the survivor. The killer wouldn't be able to do anything to stop you. Even if he hits you once, you'll just sonic off into the hatch.

If anything, the one thing I would change is respawning the hatch in a different location each time. Having it in the same place makes it a little too easy for the killer to get back to it first and makes it possible to camp the hatch (staying closer to the hatch than any of the remaining generators so you can always close it before the survivor can get to it).

  • That huntress one is nuts. I don't even play huntress, but it makes me want to play huntress.
That trapper welding outfit is a winner though, I'm definitely getting that one.

so you have access to the PTB ? can you take a screenshot of the survivor please ? i saw the killer but nobody seems to care about the survivor Xd

  • His throwing arc is more like a lobbing arc so you can throw it over things and also hit something higher up. It's handy for throwing it over half-height obstacles since a regular throwing arc would likely just land on top of them. Plus, the higher up the bottle breaks, the more the gas will spread, so lobbing it high up (say, at a tree) will spread gas across a wide area.
The ultra rare is more of a gimmicky way to use it. If you can nail those three pointers like LeBron, you're set.

  • If it's the clown, get it and use it as soon as you can. The mori is gnarly. Make sure you read the lore first, it'll make way more sense then.

  • Iron Will, We'll Make It, Empathy, and if you want a mobility perk, Sprint Burst.

Sprint Burst gives you distance from the killer and gives you a chance to hide. Iron Will is basically a must for stealth, you ain't losing a killer without it as long as they have ears. We'll Make It is probably the best altruism perk because you can unhook someone and heal them in a couple seconds. Empathy will help you find people that need healing.

We'll Make It. It's my bread and butter. For whatever reason, my teammates always gravitate to the basement when they're about to go down. This way I'm always prepared and can heal them up so they can take a hit on their way out.

We'll make it is arguably meta now tho.

Yeah but... I was the hipster using it before it was cool.

  • Favourite has to be either (don't hate me) the Swamp or the Red Forest. They both look amazing and have such a unique feel to them. I know the swamp gets a lot of hate for being big, but I honestly never have any problems on them on either side. It was horrible when it came out and way too big, but the size was reduced and the generators were pulled closer to the middle. The entire outer edge tiles (one or two tiles deep) is basically a massive deadzone that nobody goes to, and once you take those out, it's not much bigger. + Honourable mention to the sloped tiles, I can see people on those from half way across the map.

Least favourite is probably either Shelter Woods or Haddonfield. Haddonfield has too many spots that either waste loads of time, or if generated the right way, are literally infinites. It's unique, I'll give it that, but it's never been my cup of tea.

What about this.. as survivors you have 30 seconds in the lobby to change survivor, items, or add ons. After 30 seconds this gives time to change offerings and customization but removes sudden death flashlight or BNP team. And the killer still has time to react.

I would agree, but dodging would have to be addressed as well. The reason people feel the need to do so is because they'd get dodged if they didn't. I don't think anyone should be picking and choosing who they go up against. All that accomplishes is abusing the matchmaking system to artificially raise your rank higher than it should be, making those types of matches all the more common.

  • @ObscuredbyFog said:
Looping and chasing as it is is in the survivors favor if they are good. This is a detriment to a 4 Vs 1 game. Bloodlust should be buffed, not removed or made into a perk. Be a smart survivor and don't be found to begin with!

I would strongly disagree about bloodlust. I find bloodlust to be a bandaid fix to a problem that doesn't actually fix the problem. It doesn't help you catch anyone looping because breaking the pallet resets bloodlust, and if you don't break a safe pallet, it's basically an infinite (even with increased move speed). More than anything, it punishes those that use windows and LOS blockers to buy themselves time because the killer is able to keep bloodlust up. Those chases are far more interesting than spinning around a pallet, so I'd gladly take those any day.

But the "don't get caught" thing is not an option. There are loads of perks and powers to find survivors. Doctors will automatically force you to scream the first time they get close, as well as whenever you tier up. Hell I've even seen a few people use stridor to find survivors. I'm a stealthy player myself and simply not getting caught is not always an option, and that's for the best because playing hide and seek with a bunch of seasoned chameleons wouldn't be much fun for anyone. Basically, telling survivors not to get caught is like telling killers not to let people fix generators. It's easier said than done.

  • On one hand, I don't like that people can do it and potentially prevent you from using something like Lightborn to counter flashlights or Hangman's Trick to counter toolboxes. But on the other hand, I know that the reason why they're doing that in the first place is because they're going to get dodged if they don't. So I guess the fairest compromise would be to automatically take off items when switching survivors, but also penalize people for dodging. That way nobody's cheesing the system.

  • She's definitely unique. She's one of the few killers that actually play better defensively than offensively. You're better off picking three generators that are easy for you to patrol and trapping those than chasing people around the map for the whole game.

Playing against her though, I nope so hard. I'll just go ham and try to stop the three gen strat from happening, and if it does, I'll just go all in and not care if I die. I've had to sit through way too many hour long hag games.

  • It's actually in the stream/video roadmap: https://youtu.be/Oe4d3dy5E40?t=2m36s

Seems like not every week, but it's in there. I'd love to see some devs play.

If you're really dying to see some devs play, though, there's a couple that do pretty often.

    • McLean:
    • not_Queen:
    • Giddawid:
    • Probably a bunch more that I can't think of off the top of my head.

EDIT: Wow, I was not expecting it to embed a video player for each one.

  • I always feel bad when you can tell that the person/people you're going up against is new. I try to go easy on them so they still have fun.

I like to use these free weekends as an opportunity to try out new perk loadouts that almost definitely aren't practical but might be sorta' fun. I normally wouldn't bother with slippery meat and up the ante, but I'm going to Kobe all weekend long. Same with killer. I'm running things like EW1 Myers. Not powerful, but it'll give people a good scare.

So this poster is for "the ringmaster" but he is not the next killer ? Or is it for the next killer but his name is not the ringmaster :dizzy:

To clear up any confusion, this poster is for the upcoming chapter and it is not the ringmaster. Not sure where the confirmation of that image being the ringmaster is coming from, I don't recall anything about that.

  • I sorta' like the cap in the sense that it prevents you from just instantly maxing out any new killer or survivor that might come out. New content would feel pretty bare if you could just blow through it right away.

  • The main issue I can see with this is that it would add another thing for killers to have to monitor. If you end up giving the survivors really powerful perks that the killer has to actively seek out the source of and destroy, it's a lose-lose situation for killers. They search for and find it -> Free time to work on generators unopposed. They don't search for it -> Survivors have really powerful perks.

I don't think a hex-like perk for survivors is a horrible idea, but I think it should be tied to something like a generator, or something else the killer already has to check. Could be like the lunar event where a certain generator is marked and the perk only becomes active once it's powered. Obviously it couldn't be as good since there'd be no way to deactivate it, but it would have the same sort of 'not always active, some counterplay, but more powerful to compensate' aspect.

Then again, that's sorta' what the obsession system is for, I suppose.

  • Sounds like you need the Slippery Meat + Up The Ante meta. Get caught first all you want and then get a fresh start.

Definately agree, ragequitters on both sides should be punished with forced downtime. Got crappy internet? then do something about it or play something thats not multiplayer

That's my philosophy. If there's some emergency that forces you to leave in the middle of the match, surely a five minute timeout won't affect you. You'll still be off trying to fix your connection, or waiting for the power to come back on, or cleaning the rug the dog just peed on. By the time you get back that five minutes is already over. If your internet just keeps going out over and over, as much as I hate to say it, you probably shouldn't be playing a online game until that's resolved. Leaving in the middle of the game ruins the fun for the other four people there, and that's not fair to them. I feel for ya', but the enjoyment of four people outweighs the enjoyment of one, and I don't see why they should suffer for your internet problems.

  • While on one hand I'm all for it, on the other hand, I feel like that makes it too easy to get only the best perks-- and more importantly-- all the DLC perks. Say you only play survivor and you want all the new teachables. Bing bang boom, 2,250 shards later, you're done. You have all of the new survivor's perks and you have no reason to get that new survivor. You'd actually be better off that way because then you could very easily get those perks on an already maxed out character and knock 'em all out in 9 bloodwebs.

I think there should still be some reason to go out and actually buy the DLC. Gotta' pay the bills somehow, after all.

But what I could get behind is a reroll option. Don't want any of the perks this week? Spend 450 shards to reroll them into four different perks. That way your can increase your chances of getting the ones you want, but it'll cost you more if you're impatient.

  • I don't think an AI would do it justice. You could spend years making the AI as smart as you can and it still wouldn't be anywhere close to a real person. The problem is that a big part of the game is about outsmarting the other side, and an AI just isn't that smart.

  • No, that's not bannable. If you had used that to hold the game hostage for an extended period of time, then it could be. But stumbling into a bug and taking a peek around isn't hurting anyone. If you left in a reasonable amount of time, you have nothing to worry about.

  • @RSB said:
    What was that?

It was a code for the Chuckles mask.

  • Meg is a pretty good place to start. Both adrenaline and sprint burst are pretty good perks. Quick and Quiet isn't even that bad either if you like to play more stealthy and try to lose the killer.

Claudette has self care and empathy, so she's also a good choice.

Bill has some good perks too.

If you don't have a favourite survivor, what I would do is roll with Meg for now and then get the teachables from the others. Meg's got a couple really good perks to start with, so you don't need to go crazy trying to get them.

  • The number I usually see thrown around is anywhere from 1,100,000 to 1,300,000 (per character). Depends on what you spend your bloodpoints on, whether you go for only the cheapest stuff or all the expensive ones, and of course how lucky you are with bloodwebs.

I really love this idea but I have question, will you be able to throw the match over pallets?
So for example: you plant some oil next to the shack pallet - it gets smashed down, will you be able to throw the match over it to stop him from going? Maybe the match could be more like the huntress hatchet and you can throw it at quick speeds but in a certain radius? If you add this then it should have like a small cross-hair, other than that, I love it! :chuffed:

It could. I was thinking as long as you're 1-2 meters away you could toss it, so you should be able to toss it over pallets or through windows.

  • Shirtless David King.
Y'all need to stop lying if you answered anything else.

  • I just want to say that I'm absolutely shocked y'all are still able to get them. I'm blown away that someone didn't just come by right away and grab them all without saying anything.

    You're all lovely people.
