Have you also heard the reason why they’re actually nerfing Pop? The timer is too lenient. Guess what perk a lot of people say is too lenient? DS. The devs really showed their bias with this one.

Nerfing a strong survivor meta perk would cause a huge outrage, together with review bombing and screaming. And since survivors are the majority of the playerbase of DbD.. it'd be a ######### business decision. Angry customers don't buy stuff from the store.

  • I ######### hate the argument. BHVR clearly don't want the Rift and Archives to be an "optional" activity. They can earn a potential $70 per player from the Rift, depending on how sensitive to FOMO they are. Of course they'd want people to participate in that and feel like they need to complete it. That's why they keep putting events into it.. so there's no way around it.

Good works on the Halloween event video, btw. This year's halloween event is going to be the worst one yet. Its all about raking in the cash from players. Nothing else. People need to wake up and see BHVR for what they are.

It is always easy to ignore stats and claim they are bad if they don't match your beliefs or your role. But the truth of the matter is, stats are most likely accurate and it shows a very bad unbalanced game where one side completely overshadows the other.

How can you say that when we're given data to us where there's 10+ variables we know nothing about? This info is literally useless.

  • Its a popular SWF perk and therefore changing it would cause a massive outrage by survivors and survivors are the majority of the playerbase. What do you think happen when the majority is angry about something? They'll review bomb and scream and shout and be angry!

    Angry customers won't buy anything.

  • I've disabled the end-game chat so I don't know if I am experiecing toxicity or not. But then again, the reason why I disabled it in the first place was due to people shitting on me.

  • I don't own many. I got some halloween skins from earlier events and some other skins gotten from events.. and skins from the bloodied bag and such.

I despise both the in-game store macrotransaction hell and the Rift.

  • Everything's too vague to be useful information.

    • All platforms included or just a single one?
    • Does a DC count as a sacrifice or is it its own statistic?
    • Every rank is mashed into one. We know newbies die more than high rankers.
    • Mixing up sacrifices made from every killer in the game just screws things up further.

Its just classical BHVR data. Useless.

  • Here's what I would do;

    • There's now a lobby indicator for SWFs that shows who are playing with who.
    • Killers and solo survivors get bonus BP post-game depending on the amount of SWFs in the lobby.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    • Killer get 25% bonus BP if there's 2-man SWF and 2 solos in the lobby. The solos get 50% each.
    • Killer get 50% bonus BP if there's 2 2-man SWFs in the lobby.
    • Killer get 75% bonus BP if there's 3-man SWF and 1 solo in the lobby. The solo get 100%.
    • Killer get 100% bonus BP if there's a 4-man SWF in the lobby.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, there will be some dodging in the beginning from killers AND solos. But, I think it'll stop pretty fast because people wanna play games.. not queuing up for lobbies.

  • A skillful killer to me is one that's confident enough to leave hooks almost instantly in order to find another chase faster. Those killers needs to earn more respect. Shame that survivors see fault everywhere and no matter how you play, its a loss-loss.

Thats only if the ceo of this company stops being greedy and actually focus on this games health.

When people stop buying Rifts, Rift tiers, skins and Macrotransactions.. they'll have no choice but to improve the game. Too many people playing the game sadly won't stop.

  • "Quick n' Quiet" is probably my favorite perk.

  • Cause it'd otherwise be abused by the hooked survivor to "save" themselves for their friend or other stuff like that.

  • I don't use exhaustion perks so I don't care.

  • What Dead by Daylight not scary, its frustrating. And the wrong type of it. Its not like a game where I fail something and retry it, being more motivated to complete it. Dead by Daylight just sucks out any motivation you have for playing the game. There's literally no game out there that increased my heart rate by pressing Ready as Killer.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Just adding the ability to deny an unhook would be fine. Sure, some people would sue that to troll... By throwing the game and dying, which is already a thing that people do, just in other ways.

It'd solve many problems if we could stop an unhooking attempt as the survivor hanging. It'd have to be on a cooldown, though.

So you'd rather complain about something that's happening based off of a PAST EVENT then be happy we're still getting events? No one is forcing you to play the event. If you don't like the event then don't play it and shut up. No one wants to hear negativity. So the devs want to implement something they've created into an event, big deal. It's their game.

Again with the "no one's forcing you" / "its optional" argument. Its not true since you're FORCED to participate in the Rift/Challenges if you want any skins. You need to take off the "BHVR cannot do anything wrong" merchandise.

Lol sure it is, just because i drive by McDonalds every day i dont have to eat that #########. You are a human with a brain and a free will. Use this amazing power. If you cant, you are very likely addiced as hell and you might need help. Thats it.

This is a game for adults and most have no problem with addiction. Almost everyone sees the event and the rift pass as a fun little extra... which it is.

And it is definitly nothing to worry about. Its about cosmetics, absolutly meaningless stuff, no matter how many hours you have invested. If you seriously think this has more meaning then that, im really sorry for you. No offense.

Its not optional when you have to partake in the Rift in order to unlock the upcoming Halloween skins.

  • @ChurchofPig said:

I think people should stop complaining. Seriously would you rather have nothing? At least we're getting something.

Back in the day we earned currency depending on objectives completed during trials that we could spend on Halloween skins. It should return to that.

Of course its a ######### repeat on last year. I so freaking hate the Rift and the archives.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    Or.... Steam charts.

Seriously, just because DbD took a 6k dip last month doesn't change the fact that their playerbase has almost doubled in the last year on Steam alone.

But how many of those are new players that won't leave in a few days because of the grind, awful matchmaking, bugs, macrotransactions? I mean, the global steam achievements say loads about how many people stayed to play DbD in the longrun, considering that only ~14% of survivors and ~8% of killers reached rank 10.

  • BHVR's fantastic track record will make sure that the new MMR system is even worse than the first version of it that we got to experience a few months back. How that's possible is beyond me but I am far too cynical to believe that they'll manage to do something without hiccups.

Heck, the DC Penalty system is probably going offline soon, once again, because of people exploiting it. And then they'll take it down.. and put it back up in a few weeks and hope those bad people left during that time.. only for it to repeat again.

  • @bubbabrotha said:

This game is not dying. It has 45,00 players, and I'd hardly call that dying.

If you check Steam's global achievements for Dead by Daylight, you'll see that 14.4% of all survivors and 8.2% of all killers have reached rank 10. If 45k players are playing, a huge majority of those are newbies.

Why doesn't more people reach rank 10 and below? Could it be that they burn out and leave? Dead by Daylight have always had a huge influx of new players coming in but they don't seem to stay. Seriously, I think BHVR's entire business model right now is hoping that the new players buy a few skins/DLCs/Rift/Rift tiers before they burn out and leave.

  • @bgbomb said:

does the pic mean that the mmr is back?

Sadly not. This is just your standard matchmaking, working as intended.

Well I was just told to go kill myself, The team played dirty and I countered, was lucky to get 2 of them. and as the game ended I was hit with this. Just wanted to add it here didn't feel like starting a whole new topic just for this.

that's the worst I've ever gotten. I wish there was a way to report people for death threats. Is there zero accountability for conduct?

Yes I know it's just a game and I'll let it go don't worry but just WOW.

Please report them. You could also close the chatbox by pressing those two arrows in the lower right of the chatbox itself.

  • Welcome to BHVR's functional matchmaking system where nothing matters.

I don’t mind the vault grunting. He is already good at everything else chase wise. But I do like the idea that survivors cannot perceive the red stain while intoxicated idea.

I guess there's also the way you could make all sound non-directional when intoxicated. There's a lot of fun gimmicks you can do with his gas.

  • The most boring matches are against Hag. All of them tunnel and camp. If someone ends up in the basement, I don't even bother saving them.

  • You should add two more things;

    • The Clown no longer makes a noise when vaulting a window. Helps his mind-gaming game.
    • Intoxicated survivors can no longer see the Red Stain. Also helps with mind-games.
  • Just imagine how hilarious it'll be when they hit Live and console players have to experience them. It won't be Frames per Second anymore, it'll literally be Frame per second.

Not even surprised either. Console release was always an after-thought. Otherwise they'd have spent time and effort making it optimized for console.

  • Still at 0 but then again, no one cared about any of my threads.

  • They've gotten worse for each and every new Rift. And I imagine that BHVR will put Halloween stuff in a Rift and force us to complete it if we want any goodies. They did so last year. It sucks. Rift is the sole reason why I am barely playing the game anymore.

  • I've not played the game in 1½ month or so. The game is not really that fun. Waiting for the Halloween event but I suspect it'll be locked being a Rift again which would make me lose any and all motivation I got.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    HELL!!

    NO!!

Don't you want a Claudette standing in a corner self-caring for 60+ seconds in every game? It'd make most killer games a breeze since survivors wouldn't do anything other than healing.

  • Camping is mostly a mentality and survivors reinforce it reguarly by suicide bombing the hooks in order to save their fellow survivor. Even if you put on all manners of negative effects, be it deranking, no points, 24 hours ban etc for camping.. campers would still camp.

How about you reward positive behavior, aka the killer leaving the hook, instead of punishing them?

  • I doubt it. Look how badly the game works on consoles already. Heck, look how bad it works on PC for some. It'd be just as bad for "next gen" consoles as it is for "current gen" consoles.

  • Too many survivors in the mix and not enough players wanting to play Killer to go around.

  • I run BBQ + Corrupt Intervention + Sloppy Butcher + Surge on my Deathslinger and I think its an alright build for him.

  • @burt0r said:

The thing is that the devs still take all of community as their base for claims from what I heard.

They always average over all ranks which makes nearly every statement they post watered down to irrelevance.

This is the case. They twist and turn and morph data and statistics into something that's no longer valuable.

  • "Legendary" is just an excuse to take $15 out of a players pocket. The skins are all awful. There's nothing "Legendary" about them.

  • @Axe said:

Those who work on cosmetics and those who work with bug and balance issues are 2 different teams.

It take more time to code and fix bugs than it takes to push out more cosmetics but those who work on cosmetics are not those who fix bugs

Its a poor excuse. Its technically true but they should still be a team altogether. DbD is struggling on so many fronts in terms of bugs, some that have been long term, and letting one team pump out new content that keeps breaking more stuff while another team is trying to fix everything.. its not.. a smart decision.

  • WGLF is a very altruistic perk so healing fellow survivors for health states should reward you with a token.

  • His massive mobility alone makes him better than average. There's a lot of advantages to being able traverse the map fast.

  • Can it infllct Dying State on survivors who're already Injured?

  • He doesn't need nerfs, that's for certain. He's literally a one-trick pony.

  • @Mandy said:

When it works it's pretty strong, it's just that getting the required stacks is super tough. I think it could do with an increase of skill checks when healing players for sure.

An increased chance for healing skill checks would turn the perk into a real good perk. That's for certain.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

They have tried with the fog whisperer program but the developers ALWAYS IGNORE what people like Otz or Tru say.

The developers really just don't care about most of the community's opinions even the people who they put into a program for them to listen too is the issue.

A lot of the problem perks that have been added into the game the fog whisperers warned the devs about their issues like old MoM but the devs completely ignored them and ended up with egg on their faces.

The Fog Whisperers are more like those people showing off the freshest newest merchandise in a store. They want their FWs to show off new skins and content, so entice the masses to buy.

  • BHVR excuse to not restore Legacy to those that lost them is LAZY-AS-#########. Step up your game, BHVR!

  • @tenoresax said:

short answer: no, Clown is universally agreed to be the worst killer in the game, because while pretty much everyone else has something going for them eg. Blight has superb map pressure, Pyramid has great anti-loop, Clown simply just doesn't have much to work with.

But, he is still a fun killer, if you're playing brown, yellow or green ranks he's absolutely viable, his perks are pretty good, Pop Goes The Weasel is an excellent perk if you don't have Ruin Undying, Bamboozle isn't too popular but it's particularly good on Bubba and Billy, Coulrophobia kinda sucks actually.

But (again), if you're playing at purple to red ranks, he's gonna start to fall off a lot. He's very perk reliant to perform well at a higher level. Even if you've completely mastered Clown, you still stand a very, very slim chance against a strong team simply because he has no map pressure and not enough anti-loop to make up for it.

And if you're facing the problem of hitting hatchets with huntress, don't worry because hitting good bottles is significantly easier.

    Hope this was helpful!

You forgot to mention that his mind-gaming game ain't even that good due to his wide frame and being the only killer that makes loud noises when vaulting.
