I like it, as a Yui main I am actually pretty happy about it. She looks more human, and slightly more Japanese at that. When she first came out, I was a bit confused because she just looked caucasian with slightly generic asian features and oddly strong cheekbones. Too reminiscent of Nancy lol. She feels more relatable in a human way with this.

I would like the chapters to be more polished when they launch. There's more than one way to make that happen, though. Without working there and knowing what the process is, it's hard to say whether extending the schedule is the best way.
Yeah same here. This sums it up for me tbh.

I just started playing again 2 weeks ago from a long hiatus and noticed all these tomes. The last time I played, these tomes were not in existence. For my clarification, are the tomes the same thing as you are referring to as chapters?
Edit: The last time I played was around when Ash Williams was released.
Tomes are basically the chapter version of the archive stuff. For the battlepass thing, a tome is basically a chapter offset by a month and a half. Only the tomes introduce new lore, cosmetics, and challenges rather than chapter content. Does that make sense? I kinda explained it poorly.

Given how much optimization/balancing content the devs have dropped in the past when they didn't give a hard deadline.
I do not feel like the devs can function without hard deadline.
Aka "If you don't put their feet to the flames" nothing gets done.
Yeah this is fair. Honestly I think right now they're just focusing too much on the cosmetic end of the game, for example the recent PTB shows survivors receiving new face rigs/facial animations and it makes me think they probably have been dumping most of their effort there rather than other things. But still, I see your point here. They should be sticking to a schedule, but right now they hardly even do so with the one they have.

Yeah in that situation a cosmetic at all is nice. But I hate you for maining Freddy. Maybe. I'm not too prejudiced here

I'm fine with it as is, but if I had to change it, it would be this:
Iron Will:
Your sounds of injury are reduced by 60% at all times, and your healthy breathing is reduced by 20%.
When hit by the killer, your sounds of injury are reduced by 100% for 35/40/45 seconds. During this period, all other survivors can see your aura.
-
Yeah that's basically the DBD grind for ya. Hate it so much. Wish they'd be speedier in reducing it again. Anyways, I don't know why anybody would disagree with the title. idk. dbd forums can find a way

I like it but I also want to bring up this idea, it shares a little bit of similarity:
@PassarinoT said:
Okay, after a long back and forth of seeing how players react to different Spirit power adjustments, here's what I think would be more intimidating to play against and fair: (Not saying it's an end-all fix, just an idea)
- When The Spirit starts to phase walk, her husk 'melts' into the ground as it does when she ends phase walk right now.
- All sounds emitted from her husk dissipate and The Spirit's terror radius fades away to undetectable.
- Similar to in the trailer for Shattered Bloodline (release), The Spirit's breath fades in and grows in strength or weakens depending on how close the Spirit is to you, but it is not directional.
- Spirit's footsteps can be heard very heavily during phasewalk, but only within 4 meters. (Maybe, I'm bent on this idea. I would like it to sound like a lighter version of Oni, but for Spirit. That could be scary IMO)
Like this timestamp on the SB release trailer:
I think a rework like either yours or mine is worth the devs consideration and work for sure

they should not be failing in the first place; behaviour was capable of releasing mostly stable chapters with full maps in the past. since then, the company has only grown, and there's no reason (that we know of) why they should be incapable now with the same schedule.
Yeah this is true, too. If they were more transparent with the community, we might know why. Otherwise, it just looks lazy.

Have they added characters from the future before?
Not yet, but they also said they would not add a religious killer, then proceeded to do that. So, I'd say it's possible.

All tome 7 keeps doing is teasing a vampire killer of some sort.
First as count Dracula in the cutscenes, then with a lot of arcus memories talking about vampires in general.
So a vampire killer it's definitely a concrete possibility at this point.
I am just excited in hopes that it'll get it's own map that functions.

Newest tome, it's the 3rd entry collection I believe
@ChurchofPig said:
The only reason I think not exactly is they throw out a lot of "new" killers and survivors in the archives in those segments and only like 2 have ever come to pass. One being Blight (which had already been a lore character for a year prior to the archives existing) and a small thing that had sounded like Elodie prior to Elodie being released.
Obviously, it's not impossible and it COULD be a new character, I'm just personally not inclined to believe it quite yet. However if they did release this or something similar as a chapter it sounds like a cool concept to work with.
This is definitely true, I like to read the lore but something about it this time struck me a little different. I feel like this one in particular has a lot more potential for a chapter than previous things. Esp the entry I posted on this forum. But again, you could be right

Haddonfield is terrible gameplay-wise. It's been said a million times, but that's not what this thread is about.
What doesn't get talked about often is how bad Haddonfield is as a representation of the Halloween franchise.
Compare Haddonfield to Raccoon City, Midwich, or even Hawkins and The Game. The difference is staggering in how well the series is presented. It's basically just a generic suburbs map with almost zilch to do with the Halloween franchise. Even Springwood has better representation.
I'm seriously hoping that Haddonfield gets a major overhaul eventually and it gets completely redesigned both to make it more representative of Halloween, and to make it stand out more from Springwood, which re-uses two of the buildings from Haddonfield.
Yeah this is definitely something I've long thought, I hope that the graphical rework brings a whole new map because the small, blank houses are just... effortless. I really hope they bring in either new hints to the new movies or some nods at the original, because anything would spice it up at this point.

@Khorzad said:
There is clearly a vampire killer coming in the future, but that entry is just one of the possible origins for it or the survivor, as we had other entries with vampires, like the twin mobs that face a vampire that killed all of their family, the vloggers fighting a cult turned vampire and of course, the video in which what seems to be Vlad or someone very similar to him.
I think that is the most likely killer, as the Observant has his memories, so is a confirmed Killer, has a design, voice(well, grunts) and could easily be the vampire of the other entries. The survivors could be many, from that entry, a new one or the survivor mobster that kicked the vampire’s ass, I would like that personally.
Of course, we already had several future killers implied in previous tome, like that female serial killer, so we could get her, a new original killer or a vampire killer that does not appear in any of the tomes. Given that we usually get a female killer after a male killer and viceversa, either we finally get that serial killer or it is a female vampire.
See I understand the idea of a vampire killer, but again, it feels too obvious in this situation. The vampires seem too strong to be kept by the entity, maybe collaborated with. But I still think this is more of a Spirit situation, how her father was teased as a killer, but in turn it was actually Rin who was the killer. I think that the gang member who had her whole family killed by this vampire is a much more appropriate contender for killer. Afterall, she killed a vampire with pure rage and not a sliver of fear. I think that would make her a much more viable option, and a much more interesting one at that, honestly.

Right? I am not a dracula fan or anything but they'd fit really well. Although, the other entries in the archives described these vampires as not the stereotypical dracula-vampires. Also, as for the map, I believe they hinted at an old brewery for being the map, if we get one, much less a chapter, for this.

I'll do ya one better, thats the survivor. after the entity finds that it's acolyte vampire was killed by a mortal, it takes him as punishment to relive his fight in a twisted game in the vampire's favor to enact the vampires revenge.
See I like that idea too, but I think this chapter would receive Spirit treatment. Originally, the entity was intent on taking the Spirit's dad, but after seeing the power of her rage, the entity took her. The gang member had her whole family/gang killed by this vampire and it sparked a fury in her that let didn't let her cower in fear at a vampire, startling the vampire, and then she killed the vampire too quickly for it to fight back
(Later on, all evidence of the vampire disappeared with his death, and the girl was assumed insane and sent to an asylum, only to be taken in by a wealthy person, can't remember what word they used to refer to that.)
-
@Soulpaw said:
ok but actually, this is quite intriguing. "Vampires who live among us and draw their powers from another dimension." this kinda suggests that the entity has acolytes outside of the realm and there are people aware of it outside of the realm. It's entirely possible that the next original killer is a vampire.
Spoiler I think that one of these vampires is killed by a gang member in a later entry, so I think actually that gang member may become a killer?

I would hope the devs would know.
I am starting to consider the idea that the devs may be following a similar act to the infinite monkey theorem. Simply pressing buttons and hoping it adds content to their game, ultimately celebrating a single addition no matter how many bugs.

Giving Victor a crown would probably cause the the system32 files on the servers to get deleted.
I have no idea what this means, but I don't think the devs would either.
-
It's not that it's "that broken", it's that we haven't been getting quality content in ages. No new maps, and when we finally got one, it's been disabled and buggy for ages. All the recent chapters have yielded something awful. Descend Beyond was alright, but brought lots of bugs and a very short POV killer that took 3 chapters to fix. A Binding Of Kin brought a load of bugs and the final release yielded even more. All-Kill introduced what I believe is the worst killer to date (if we're talking the power currently available to the killer). Each chapter has had no new map, loads of bugs, and very awkwardly balanced. If you've played this game more than a year, you'd know what the devs are (or were) capable of. They've gotten too money hungry and clearly passion hardly plays a part in it development-wise, otherwise maybe they'd actually test their killers and realize how horribly buggy or unbalanced they may be.
This is nothing against you, I'm just stating how I feel (and it seems most of the community does too) about the recent fiasco dead by daylight has become. Although, it never was a perfect game, it's gotten exponentially more money-based than it used to be, all for loads of bugs to prevail.
-
He needs to be gutted and remade from the ground up, honestly. He's horrible.
But, if he's to stay the same (which he so obviously is), I'd say remove the insane amount of slowdown his power brings. In all aspects, from Main Event, to just faking a blade throw.
-
Not to mention, when they DO stream these days (Q&A, I'm looking at you), they only give very vague replies. I get that they try to remain ambiguous so as not to make any unkept promises, but it is HORRIBLE how they handle it. They just bring on someone who is like "I am not in that department so I can't say :)" or "We cannot speak on this at the moment" and just overall halfass the entire streams these days.
-
I do not want to sound cocky, and this is most definitely not a flex, but I feel like I've gone down a list of them.
Do not think this is good in anyway, I am genuinely addicted to this game and it causes me a lot of stress.
That said, I can get 4Ks almost any game at rank 1 with:
- Twins
- Blight
- Ghostface
- Oni
- Hag
- Deathslinger
- Spirit
- Executioner
- Wraith
- Plague
and of course
- Nurse
This is the only game I've ever really been addicted to. It's weird. But I'm far too competitive and I've grown to hate this game, but I still play it because I always feel incomplete.

I'm more for the idea of winning the chases give survivors boosts or positive effects not for just being in chase at all but that does seem like a cool idea.
I understand why you'd think that, but if a killer loses a chase, that is already time won. They don't need anything more. If they used their time unwisely during the chase, that's their fault, but this is still potentially a huge loss to the killer already.
-
Here's my idea:
- When a chase is initiated, a timer, similar to EGC timer, appears and it begins to countdown. (If during EGC, no timer appears and this mechanic does not exist.)
- The timer lasts 20 seconds initially. Then, if still being chased, it starts over, this time adding 10 seconds, and the process repeats.
- When ever you take a hit, the timer begins again.
- When the timer reaches 0, each survivor on a generator receives a 1% bonus to their generator and you receive 250 survival points.
Something to this nature. I don't like the idea of speeding up gen times as is, but this timer idea is something I think could be cool.

Where did you hear that?
I saw it, played a round on The Game and those pallet spawns were complete dead-ends. Not sure if it's 100% chance but it best be, that'd make it more logical IMO.
-
I believe in the next chapter patch, The Game is receiving a huge buff for killers. That is if you don't break certain walls. Instead of having those extremely safe god pallets, they're a dead end now. If a survivor drops one, they run straight into a room of purely breakable walls with the only exit being the pallet.
So, soon The Game will have far less safe pallets if it helps your case at all!
-
Nurse, too.
She got one somewhat recently.
It's happening, slowly but surely. I think they're just focusing on survivors atm bc this will mean they can implement new animations for them universally but killers would require individual reanimation.

Hope - I guess that a good point.
Fast track - Baso, rn its 3 tokens per hook. Max you can save is 27. When you hit a GREAT you get 1% progress per token. Maximum is obvs 27% progression.
But that's it... You spend a whole game saving up these tokens and then.. For what? A quarter of a gen? Not worth it in my eyes. And by then, everyone would be dead.
Realistically you get about 12 tokens. Which is useless.
I think it should be 3% per token. Making saving up all your tokens complete 3/4 of a gen. Which is great value for saving up such a perk.
Better together - The whole point of trail is to be undetectable and know when the gen you kicked is being worked on. Deciveing for one perk is not it's purpose, therefore I think should have a different aura.
If a perk scares survivors more than it helps, then why would you run it? Better together is the complete opposite in its purpose, you WANT help from others.
Yeah Fast Track is not good at all... I could see that being helpful though.
And with Trail of Torment, it's extremely weak and the yellow aura is only slightly helpful for it, usually it just makes it even worse. So if they remove the aura from it, I would be completely fine with Better Together getting an aura change. But in the meantime, it simply doesn't need it. The likeliness of these being run against eachother is super low since theyre not popular. But even if it does happen, it won't be the end of everything. Just watch for the killer and you'll do just fine.
-
Spirit because she is fantastically designed in every aspect except her power. She has so much potential to be a great killer, not just braindead.
-
I'll give a lil feedback on yours with some of my own:
- No Mither: Agreed, maybe just like once healthy and hit, gain a token and become broken for 100/90/80 seconds, this token becomes used once fully recovered.
- Better together: I think it's alright, the color should stay the same as trail of torment would be slightly weaker without it. The secondary ability is nice IMO, I do use this perk now n then in solo queue.
- Camaraderie: I think that the need to have a survivor near you activate it is good, but the range is small. I think if the killer is within 16 meters for more than 3 seconds consistently, it should slow progression by like 5/10/15% or so though.
- No one left behind: Yes I agree, when gates are active would be VERY good. I used to run it often, not so much now.
- Fast track: I don't understand what you mean with this one? But I do think it needs a buff. Not sure what bc idc too much abt that perk.
- Hope: I understand your thought process on this, but this would be HORRIBLE for 110 killers to face. Imagine being hag and a survivor runs in a straight line and you cannot gain any distance for 120 seconds.
- Lightweight: I think lightweight is fine, BUT I do think it should reduce the sound of breathing when running/the length it takes to quiet down after running.
- Repressed Alliance: This one is fine IMO. It's pretty cool too.
- Premonition: Premonition is also fine. It's pretty strong in the right hands.
- Sole survivor: Sole Survivor is confusing for sure, but I think it works just fine rn. Basically, if I'm correct, it just generates a radius around you in which your aura cannot be read? And it grows with each dead surv. I like it.
- This is not happening: I think that it's fine as is, but a bloodpoint bonus couldn't hurt.
- Poised: I agree! I love this perk idea but it's awfully done. I think, in addition to hidden scratch marks, 7% haste status for the duration would be a good addition to grant a little speed and also indicate when your marks are hidden.
- Boil over: Eesh. This would be too dramatic for a perk. I think a wider hook hiding range would do the trick. The struggling is fine tho.
- Buckle up: Similar to what you are saying, I think that any survivors who go down within 16 meters of you should instantly gain 30% recovery progress.
- Babysitter: I agree with buff the seconds. But I think it's alright other than that.
Here's ones I think need changing, and how:
- Second Wind: No activation needed, however, increase entity progression by 4/3/2% speed as a tradeoff for the free heal.
- Flip Flop: Always have 50% recovery conversion, but also add 100/150/200% more bloodpoints for recovering.
- Kindred: Grant any survivors that are over 32M away from the killer a 15% speed boost.
- Power Struggle: Add a 100/150/200% more bloodpoints in wiggling score.
- (This is a nerf, and likely will not be well received) Iron Will: Mutes all pain sounds for 20/25/30 seconds after being hit. After this, reduces pain sounds by 50%.
In turn, I would nerf Stridor. And with that, I'll start my killer perk list:
- Stridor: All sounds of injury are 25% louder and normal breathing is 30/40/50% louder. Iron Will's 30 second period would overpower this as 0% increased by 25% is still 0%.
(I am now feeling too lazy to finish this. may come back.)

I've seen repeatedly in many threads that anti-99 exit gates is too oppressive. It shouldn't be oppressive if it's a perk, right?
Wouldn't think so, even then I think something basekit like 99'ing past 90 might regress to 90 so they cant just tap it but still
-
Seriously, as a gay person who plays DBD, but doesn't watch streamers or anything, this event is a really big letdown. I personally don't care if companies do or don't feed into the whole pride month thing. But why share so much about it if all you really have for the players is a charm and mobile bloodhunt? I get that there might be lore in the future or something, but just do something interesting like a bloodhunt everyweekend or something idk.
Again, I'm indifferent to the inclusion of a pride event or anything but don't say you're proud of including LGBTQ+ people if you're just doing these tiny little things. Dead By Daylight is a horror game that has deep-rooted lore, use that, bring new characters to the realm who are more than just token gays or elaborate on existing ones. I don't like the idea of a lot of lore on characters, but if it's there, may as well make it more inclusive.
It just seems like odd execution. Like "Ooh look! It's pride month, here's a charm, mobile bloodhunt and.... characters in the distant future who might be not straight ;)"

I kinda prefer the current No Way Out. It's a perk that slows the game down a bit after the last gen gets done, essentially giving the last gen extra time to complete.
I run it on Clown (without NOED) due to his horrible map pressure and it's actually saved me a couple times. (when I was unable to get a 4k)
I cooked up a buff for No Way Out a little while ago here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250714/no-way-out-buff-idea
I like your idea as well! Although, right now the perk is literally just passive on survivors as by the time they can reach a gate, you've already lost some time on it. But your idea changes that, it's good! I was hoping mine would be able to stop survivors from doing that pesky 99ing gates move.

I feel like something to make him better would be extremely reducing the slow-down on switching to and from his power, but instead just make a quick moment where he can't attack. Breaking pallets and vaulting at the same time, but just no M1ing for a moment to prevent near instant downs with his knives to bat.
