No. You can get chased the entire game by the killer and do no gens or heal anyone and die and your team will get more points than you by doing gens and escaping
If you're being chased, you should score a low scoring Objective score event when a gen is being completed by others. But if they are completed after a hit score event or down, maybe you don't receive objective score event?
I like wat u said and agree.

I've been playing this game for quite a bit now and I've always had the rule stuck in my head that if you get the lowest blood points your the worst player on the team.
I know that probably that's not the case, but it's annoying when I do alot of work in distractions to help the team and my score comes out at like 14k when everyone else gets like 25k. Just makes me seem like I wasn't that useful.
What are your thoughts? :/
Performance based scoring doesn't track everything and what it does track isn't always accurate. Sometimes the 13k survivor is what made the 20k, 25k, and 28k possible. This game doesn't track that.
Imo, survivors should receive a low scoring Survival score event when other survivors make it out. I mean you're awarded for DCs, so that idea makes sense to me, although I'm not sure how that could technically work on the backend with bp awards given that the 13k dead survivor may already be in another trial by the time the 28k hatches out.
Sometimes survivors are wrongly awarded Assists at the time of a down. I think it's cuz the killer looks around after a hit and maybe stares at a local gen incidentally. Imo Weird score events make no sense, and it'd be nice to see much more consistent assist score events now that protect hits are fixed. (Good job btw devs) an example is when another survivor begins running behind an injured survivor to initiate a protect. What if they escape? I don't always receive assist scoring for assist score worthy events and sometimes i do. Since a perk mechanic isn't reliant on assists atm, it's likely assist scoring won't be polished any time soon anyways.
Survivors lose emblem score when other survivors are hooked. You can earn it back by safely unhooking. Imo Unsafe unhooks should straight up negate your altruism emblem progress. I'm talking flat lining altruism and causing a safety pip at best, even and especially with 28k
Imo Killers should receive smol score bonus for Franklin's and Doc Perk item damage.
Imo survivors should lose way more emblem progress for messing up skill checks, thereby making lullaby super salty and more appealing like noed. Do bones, you gen jockeys.
Imo survivors should have safe skill checks on bones, like demodoggo portals

And I never saw a "mature, bill-paying, responsible adult" express interest in my little pony... until I did.
This isn't a point in your favor. You're just saying you don't know the fanbase.
Let's see... markplier and dawko are adults that pay bills who like the franchise. And play the games and spin-offs and other "5 days" stuff.
Matpat build so much of game theory on fnaf it's insane...
And that's just 3 famous people... there are a lot of adult fnaf fans. You just don't know them.

And that, is the issue.
You don't wanna know, yet already has an opinion formed about something. And is apparently ready to die on that missinformed hill.
Firstly, those MLP men are animals and ruin everything.
Secondly, you quoted a bunch of content makers, like they don't actively capitalize on the younger audience as a market?
And thirdly, no I don't want to spend time on a FNAF wiki to learn nuanced and hyper trivial details about a character from a franchise that I'm not interested in.
I know enough to formulate the the FNAF is a fun thrill of an indie game, but it doesn't appeal to me. I can also guess some do express a similar concept or sentiment, given the variety of reviews it received on steam and here on the DBD forums.

And then you look at springtraps backstory."Also the thing with springtrap is hes way more serious then just a robotic bunny killing you. He used to be a guy who murdered multiple children and hid their bodies in the robotic animatronics. Then when the childrens spirits haunted him for revenge he hid in the springtrap suit and the springlocks locked stabbing into his body killing him. Then his spirit took over springtrap and killed more people until it was locked in the back room of fnaf 3s building and the security guard had to burn the place down to hopefully kill him once and for all. And he cheated death once again". Btw im 22 and have also played silent hill watched the halloween movies and nightmare on elm street. So i think ive dug deep enough into horror.

Stranger Things is Teen rating....
No, it's a TV show, which is a different ratings system altogether. Stranger things is rated TV-14, which is comprised of different qualifications.
Even if video games and media were on the same ratings system, simply watching the demogorgon beat up Steve at the junkyard is a vastly different experience than virtually fleshing out the role of demodoggo by actively hunting him down and chewing off his face to watch him die.

Prompted people to be more vocal about fnaf in general.
That is all.
I have never heard a mature, bill-paying, responsible adult ever express interest in this franchise, in real life or online.
It might be a fun franchise, but FNAF is rated T, suggested for teenagers and DBD is rated M, suggested for mature audiences (in which teenagers typically are not fully mature, hence their own rating in between E, suggested for everybody and M). This obvious observation does disseminate appropriately when applied to the FNAF fanbase.
Many of the adult fans of the game are only adults in the last few years, which furthers FNAF from other mature franchises (not saying FNAF isn't fun and scary).
It is so important to remember that FNAF was made to appeal to younger audiences of scary stuff and by extension horror. It is also important to remember that younger audiences should not be brought into this mix, not simply because of the M rating, not solely because the hag eats live human kidneys, not just because of the excessive violence and blood, but because the game is notably compounded by Freddy Krueger, who is a ######### pedophile.
No, FNAF simply doesn't belong with DBD, for the sake of the children. There has to be a boundary somewhere, and I think some people agree with me on where that line could he drawn, and FNAF is an obvious choice, despite it's popularity with the kids these days.

Ever since dedicated servers the Huntress is so busted. Her hatchet hitbox is so large that, in combination with server lag, she can hit you from a mile away and still get you injured. It's so annoying.
I think the devs should consider reducing her hatchet's hitbox again because she just gets an unfair advantage with dedicated servers. Until those problems are fixed adjust the hitboxes from this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C7FMNU7IVHNH/image.png
to that:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IUYKW62CF53T/image.png
This would make things a lot fairer if you ask me.
No it wouldn't because the devs already did that previously, with a similar shape. It was terrible. Hatchet hit boxes have changed in size, shape, and they found that the basketball hurtbox works well with the giant pill shaped hit box that survivors drag around.
There's a balance to be struck and dedicated servers will soon have more validation checks implemented to slow everything down and check if the basketball really did hit the pill around the corner.

why when your on a gen and the other survivors know your working on it , and when they are being chased they bring the killer to you then you be the one to get down , like why dont survivors run the opposite direction . Like that just isnt smart at all imo
This is a highly useful tactic I call "scattering". Maybe the community has a real name for it.
It is an essential tactic for any survivor that is Dead on next hook. It works in other situations, too. Some survivors might just be trying to shake off the killer on another poor unsuspecting survivor, but ideally this tactic should be employed to momentarily split the Killers attention.
If the Killers attention deviates for even a second, and no survivor is injured, you have successfully scattered around the Killer. Although that particular gen progress may be paused momentarily (you WANT the killer to kick the gen at this point) it greatly helps buy the other two survivors much more time to safely work on their gens for a moment.
Remember that time works in favor of survivors until they get hit. You can always go back and redo 4 seconds of lost gen progress. It takes 16 seconds to heal another survivor and 32 seconds to heal yourself with SC, so yes, in terms of economics, it's a far better use of time and resources to attempt this and possibly succeed than to run anywhere and definitely fail.

Nemesis/PWYF was a thing before nemesis existed. The primordial Furtive/PWYF combo works better on stealth killers anyways.

Original
1. Spiders/Wall climbing killer. Because loop denial is popular these days and spiders are actually scary
2. Doppelganger/changeling killer. Because having all four of your friends help you with a gen is ... wait a second ...
3. A killer that knock pallets over on survivors. It's super convoluted, but with PH cage precedence, maybe a killer might kidnap another survivor, with a special carry that counts as a hook. Other survivors will have to chase the killer before the lifeblood timer runs out, and the killer could drop a pallet during this unusual instance of keep away. Meanwhile the kidnapped survivor can wiggle to attempt a skill check or some #########.
Licensed
1. Bill Killer. Make it the witch, give her summon able 105% mobs that chase and hurt while she tries to instantly down Bill
2. Ash Killer. Do a second but complete Evil Dead chapter with Pablo or watsherface and a proper Evil Dead/deadite killer that kicks Ash around the trial
3. Cannibal Survivor Sally because shut up about killers already.

Honestly I appreciate the feedback and examination.
As much as I would love to say I do toxic things in-game I really don't. I play killer allot and I play survivor allot, some days I'll play one side more than others.
But I feel teabagging, clicky flashlights along with bringing ebonys with an already toxic build is not the way I enjoy my games.
I appreciate true skill in-game so the better I get the better I feel, I'm not balsy and not cocky in my attempts. I run borrowed time to protect from facecamping or tunneling as I see it too often, and when I'm killer I purposely leave survivors who have a hard time escaping or looping.
This may be a long comment but I want to prove this was a bug not a result of my behavior in-game.
Yesterday as the wraith I brought an ebony right? I have so many why not. There was a toxic claudette doing the flashlight dance so I moried her first hook. The others I felt bad for so I only hooked them I refuse to Mori people who aren't toxic in any way or who I suspect may not be very good.
If I give you the benefit of the doubt, I still have to point out EAC doesn't randomly ban people for no reason, at least not for such an uncommon amount of time. In my first hand experience being a chump on dbd, most bans start at 3 or 5 minutes, and will push up to 30 upon a repeated issue. I wouldn't know what a third consecutive grievance would have granted me. Most accidental disconnects are going to accrue a very short ban, which will typically resolve at around the same time a conventional PC crashes and restarts. By that time, the trial is not in a state that could allow a survivor or killer to re enter a game anyways, so the 3 or 5 minute bans are typically moot.
Unless you reach out to EAC to confirm the issue as random, there should be a common explanation to your lengthy ban.
If I were in your shoes, I'd reach out to EAC right away, because you've clarified that you don't know why this happened, and as such have no solid explanation as to why (assuming your actions and behaviors are ideal). It's imperative you contact EAC asap because the conditions that made your ban possible are seemingly unknown to you, and if you inadvertently trigger these conditions again, you could be facing a much longer ban or worse, a permanent ban.
If you're going to say you don't do toxic things, the you need to realize how important information gathering is in your situation. Best of luck.

Did this headline to hopefully grab attention. Which it has, I don't message people after games or anything like that, it's just moving from one game to the next.
But I agree headlines which spark a sensitivity grabs better attention than one that doesn't.
Yea but your attitude has an effect and it is definitely negative. I'm suggesting this carries over when you're playing games, and you may be experiencing your ban as a result.
Saying nothing in a chat box, doesn't mean you didn't speak for the entire duration of the trial. Actions such as Teabagging, abandoning your unsafe unhooks, crashing every pallet, using head on for any reason, and many more all have an impact on your outward but unspoken communication. I added this to digress, your attitude may very well be suspect in your six hour ban.

That headline is a strong indicator why you're banned. This game's community is extremely sensitive wit h a few things, behavior and language being some of those sensitivities.

Camping isn't broken lol autocorrect

1: every survivor has their own personal objective. sometimes it's rift stuff or a daily, sometimes a survivor wants to have fun or induce a chase. it sounds like you're hard at work, but not every survivor prioritizes a gen, they might be too busy with their 4 dimensional chess moves. try to have fun as survivor, they simplely don't need to work as hard as the killer does.
2: I also have a deep infatuation with Lithe. However, Sprint Burst is the #1 exhaust perk. Perks come in a few types, namely variable, passive, and conditional. Unlike Sprint Burst, which can be stealthily activated at anytime, Lithe along with the rest of the exhaust perks are conditional activations. Lithe not only requires a vault to activate, but it's noisy without QnQ. Dead Hard is a strong runner following lithe, but it requires the loss of a health state, something that Billy/Bubba and others can easily bypass with an instant dying state. Lithe is super awesome and super reliable, but Sprint Burst activates on demand and doesn't alert the killer.
3: Good Wraiths are good at what they do. Michael Myers is not an easy killer to climb higher ranks with, but even with the right addons, he's still slow to start.
4: useless is highly subjective. They all support a main build in some way. The only truly useless offerings are the Event offerings that are greyed out. Even the basic personal salt offering increases your chance off the hook, although that's not *reliable* for many obvious and unobvious reasons. Most of the smaller offerings can feel inconsequential to the trial they're offered for, but they do have an impact, and they are usually in great supply. You should be burning off all of your browns and yellows before using better offerings anyways, as most of the browns and yellows BP offerings can help you score 40k
5. Hopefully they fix up Clown mechanics, the stiff semi invisible hair found on pig and Feng, the multitude of audio issues found inside the trial, as well other QoL necessities. Their art department has become fatty.

He camps, not tunnels. The fact is that tunneling is an extension of camping. Another fact is that tunneling is better performed by stealth or insidious killers, which for the most part Pyramid Head is not, because his stealth perk has a warning.

Do gens. Okay, but then I don't have time to cleanse totems and then Noed. Even if 3 people get out it just makes for a boring game. No bloodpoints and everyone depips.
You should have plenty of time to risk NOED. Both doors are being opened at the same time if the killer commits to camping a hook during EGC, while the other remain alive and relatively unharmed most of the trial.

Doing gens is what everyone else should do but the one on the hook should be able to benefit from keeping the killers attention as well. This idea doesn't penalize the killer at all it only gives the survivor more incentive to not quit while being camped.
No, I think you sorely dismiss the fundamental that the hook is the consequence for the survivor. Not the killer. The killer should never be negatively affected by a hook.
-
@dbd_noob I define gen rushing as survivors latching onto a gen with complete disregard for the game state or the killer. This tends to happen most frequently at the start of the trial, usually at the tenth or eleventh second when Bubba or Billy claim their first down.

So nowadays a common match in this game is like that. The killer chases someone, at some point this person is hooked. Then he is tunneled or camped. Since the other 3 survs know that their mate will be out of the match soon, they genrush. So first hooked is dead, gen are done, noed is up and another surv is facecamped and dead. Match is over in 4 minutes, killer got 2 kills, no fun at all. I mean whats wrong in this game?

Since camping seems to affect primarily lower level players and new players and there is no real way to stop killers from doing it why not give the survivors something in return.
My though was why not for every 10 seconds survivors are hooked and within the killers terror radius (or within what would be the standard radius for killers for those that are masking their radius) they get a token and at the end of the match that survivor gets 10% bonus to all blood points gained capping at 100% and stackable with other modifiers.
That way it gives players a reason to play it out even when a killer is making the game miserable.
Literally, survivors empower camping. Survivors make it miserable.
Do gens.

Hello,
don´t get me wrong but in my opinion DBD is designed for Soloplayers and not SWF. We also need a new ranked system. Maybe a rank system for Soloplayers only and a non ranksystem for SWF or a ranksystem for SWF i don´t know.... and pls ...don´t come with: "We don´t want to split our playersbase or we doesn´t want to make it." So many treads about to play vs SWF is horrible or so many treads about endgamechat toxic stuff. My opinion: Remove the chat and don´t write, you can hide the chat ... it brings nothing ...and create only tickets for nothing.
Fact: Something must happend
We need this, we need that, we don't need this, we don't need that!
No, we don't even need a new ranking system. The perceived disparity in the ranking system is a false pretense for occasions where a player isn't performing as well as they do. In a game, where you win or lose, there is going to be ALOT of losing.
That is why we don't need a new ranking system. The cognitive dissonance surrounding singular losses is by no means a validated concern for unnecessary and widespread changes to a system that does work as intended (-/+6 ranks, with additional layers added as time goes on)
Anyone who truly believe that matchmaking ranks are "broken" beyond "repair" should desist from this fruitless endeavor immediately. MMR is coming, which is as useless of a change as changing from Imperial to Metric. You're still going to be matched similarly to how you are now, but with slightly more precise means of rating measurements, instead of ranking.
-
It's like chests, gens, and hooks don't spawn randomly either

Endurance and Spirit Fury are too good together, for a quick 2 hit down. Brutal Strength makes up for the missed opportunity.
Bamboozle is the secret weapon of choice. Denies the sneakiest survivors the back window.

Q1:
Is the Silent Hill Chapter really good overall?
Yes.
Killer fun to play?
Triangle Face is variable, like Demoborqon, but spicy, like Oni-chan.
Design of the map good?
Yes, you can use your Silent Hill PlayStation strategy guide map to navigate the DBD Midwich area.
Creepy Atmosphere?
The long hallways are ultra creepy with fog juice offerings.
Q2: Are Devs still buffing killers constantly? (no bait, i used to be more a killerplayer then survivor but i was absolutly not happy with making the game more and more easy for killer)
No, that's arguably not happening for the most part.

Demo's shred is 11 meters and they play very much the same.
Maybe on the m1 side, sure they both move at 115%. However, the dash and ranged attack are very different anti loop tools, with demos being less focused on anti looping and more variable, not to mention most of their abilities are hardly comparable even looking at the class-play. They might both ready themselves at the pallet, but for very different reasons.
Ph has a ranged attack that goes thru solid objects. Because of this, he is not allowed 11m range, nor allowed to quickly close distance like the demo or even nurse for that matter. With his trenches, Freddy pools probably comes closer to comparison with antilooping, but those are more useful for the chase than the trenches if the survivor is already cursed.
Simply pointing out the range of one killers ability won't invalidate the varying difference in another killers ability.
-
@Hag.is.Dtier said:

In a knee-jerk reaction to the broken state in which he was released, the devs over-corrected for Legion. Instead of tweaking a couple things here or there to balance him, they nerfed him in multiple ways that left him hobbled and just because he's limping at 4.6 m/s doesn't mean it's not limping.
The stun is too long, and whiffing shouldn't take him out of Feral Frenzy, a missed attack cooldown would be more than enough given you're losing time during a power that's already too short if survivors are spread out.
Not to specifically mention, but loss of On-Hit basic attack effects during frenzy was a yuge loss for legion

The new killer, being The Executioner, is a pretty fun killer when put on paper, but when put into practice, is absolutely pure chaotic evil. The killer's "Cage of Atonement" allows it to bypass Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time, though, at the expense of not being able to use Barbecue and Chili or Pop Goes The Weasel.
Usually, one of these Killers will immediately book it to the Cage once a survivor is in it, making it incredibly difficult to make a safe save unless the cage spawns directly next to a nearby survivor or the Killer paths poorly. This makes the game boring for the survivors involved as the savior is usually not chased, while the uncaged person is being chased so that Decisive can be ignored.
The reason behind this may be because some the Devs want survivors to use different perks besides the current Meta Perks to change the game a bit, but I want to see opinions.
Should Pyramid Head be changed to better suit non-tunneling playstyles or other playstyles, or should he stay the same?
Tl;dr below
I can point out that you mentioned it yourself; PH has to book it to the cage.
He's not a tunneling POS. He's a camping pos, which is a sharp contrast to the former, mind you!
Tunneling is an extension of camping, all of which is completely in the hands of the survivors. PH cannot tunnel as effectively as other ranged killers, but at 115% with some range, he's more effective than others. This is not his strength, as his ability alters the environment with static hazards. He zones and sets up perimeters, which makes him a highly effective camper, with above par tunneling skills.
In fact, this is his greatest weakness! I've learned the last few days that PH has 0 location ability if you steer totally clear of his hazards or make the concerted effort not to become cursed. He cannot find immersed Claudette, but he can stab thru walls and in the dark and strike a silent Jake.
TL;DR Try immersive on PH and gradually go back to gen jockey.

You're not wrong but at the same time basekit no perks should be viable to play. If 4 survivors can go perkless/itemless and stomp killers the reverse should only be true too as long as the killer is sufficiently skilled.
But they took that away with Nurse.
There really needs to be an official or KYF Adept only game mode. It would really help hash out base kit and base perk balances.

Killer rank is disproportionate to Survivor ranks, they're not the same ranking number.
Killer rank 15 = Survivor rank 9
Killer rank 8 = Survivor rank 2
From there, survivor rank caps and you get anyone and everyone competent at this game, even streamers, you know, the popular ones that don't need "TTV" displayed ;)
