Lol that wouldn't even do anything. They don't care. Just wait this thread is gonna end up closed too, instead of the Mods actually deleting and messaging the people posting dismissive comments that add no additional information to the conversation.
They feel it better to hide and ignore the issue's Killers face, than to actually do anything about it.
So how do you explain all the people who've been banned from the game and continue to be banned, if reports don't do anything?

Maybe because the team doesn't listen to the community? They need to finally do something about Legion, he's unfun and boring to play as and against. But no, instead they make the worst decisions and thanks to them we have updates like this one 😊👌
Amazing.
Legion was already addressed a while ago when those same complaints popped up. At the time, some people liked the changes, others disliked it.

I am tempted to engage in a mori discussion here, but it will derail this thread completely. I can start a new thread if it's something you don't find exhausting talking about. I'm sure you know how I feel already. :D
I'll just summarize it in this manner: having Moris work like that is like having keys only work if the gates are powered and open. The trial is already over (for one survivor in the case of Moris and for the killer in the case of keys). There is no reason to have either of them work like that unless your goal is to render them useless.

Apropos of nothing (and at the risk of derailing this thread, but I cannot help myself) -- you want to know how to fix moris? Make them usable only on survivors who have already reached struggle phase (i.e. the equivalent of having been hooked twice). The end, no more shaving 1/3 of the killer's objectives off, you still retain the cool "slasher kill scene" thematic, and the item becomes a tactical "I'm bringing this to avoid DS and cut down on travel time for the final hook" choice.
Yes, I've heard that idea before, of rendering Moris utterly useless. I disagree with it, heavily.

I understand this, but it also doesn't take most developers two years to rebalance a single mechanic that (and this is me making a possibly wrong assumption) most probably just boils down to a numbers tweak. We haven't even seen any potential rework ideas discussed, or hit the PTB, or anything. So I can only conclude that a lot of these cans just keep getting kicked down the road.
Fair enough. I'm guessing a lot of it is because BHVR is (supposedly) very anti-OT.

They say things like this a lot, but here we still are. He's the game director, he has broad latitude to set priorities and spur rank-and-file developers to action, and empower them to solve problems. I've seen plenty of individual people within Behaviour acknowledge on a stream or a Q&A that this-or-that is an issue, but then it just gets seemingly forgotten about.
According to the DBD wiki, the last change to Moris was made in patch 2.5.0, in January 2019, and it was just a small quality of life update on the HUD. That was almost two years ago, almost half the entire life of this game to date. So I hope you'll forgive me for not having a lot of faith in them when they say they'll look into these things.
There's a long road from "this is an issue" to "let's address it in this fashion". Ideas have to be discussed from various perspectives until the best solution is found. They can't just snap their fingers and do the first thing that comes to mind, that's how bad ideas get implemented (see: the first PTB's anti-camping mechanic).

The fact that they are so robotically metric-driven means that they don't even see it your way. The idea that "keys and moris are a problem" (a statement I emphatically agree with) is met with responses of "we looked at the data, and those things don't impact win rates enough." As a team, they don't commit any effort to dig deeper into the human frustration on these things. This myopic perspective infects the whole company, and we're seeing the results in action right now with this new DLC. Maybe it's a bridge too far for enough players, but I doubt it. So many people are on the treadmill now, and it's just another $6.99.
And things like the knee-jerk assumption that "it's going to take them a year to get hit validation right" -- this is a sad but probably true assumption in a broad sense, because we have consistently seen them take forever to solve things that they have identified as major issues. This is 100% a sign of an extremely defective internal corporate culture, and they've probably lived with it for so long that there's no way out of it.

Incorrect. Mathieu himself said that if something is not fun to play as/against, they will address it. Moris and keys, for example, are being addressed.

I agree,
This company needs a clear sign from the community that the current state of updates etc. is not okay.
Another thing that hurts this game a LOT is the lack of competition. There's no game out there that gives you a similiar feeling and experience like DbD does and they know this.
That's one of the reasons why I didn't purchase this DLC.

Yeah, cuz Blizzard is like 20+ years of game development experience with multiple franchises active across several platforms including multiple genres.
BHVR has what... 1?
A game that's still buggy after 4 years since launch...
Imma stop there.
My point C was to provide insight from other more experienced devs perspectives.
Here's the link: https://youtu.be/kzbNZCISJVU?t=7 so that you know I'm not making stuff up.
BHVR has decades to come before they reach the level of Blizzard devs and that's nothing to be ashamed of.
But it doesn't change the fact that BHVR can make a proper 2 in 1 char nonetheless.
Nobody can make a perfect char like that.
But Blizzard at least can make a character work internally before releasing it on to the live servers.
BHVR can't even do that and that's pathetic to say the least.
BHVR has what... 1?
28, according to their Wikipedia page. Blizzard has 29.

Excuse me I said I blame ALL THE TEAM from BHVR, not only the community, but if someone can't do their job in time and then later we get an ''update'' like this then sorry. I don't see anyone more to blame. Anyway I hope they're gonna fix this and write a new developer update. We deserve an info about what's coming next to the game and what happened to the missed content.
Game developers are always on a timetable mandated by the higher-ups. You are blaming the wrong people by including all of BHVR.
PS: I didn't even mention the community, but I fail to see how any of us are to blame.

That's the point. Then it would be all manager's fault for losing all the cashiers.
In the mean time, the cashiers are left without a livelihood. Will you be the one to support them financially while they find new jobs (if they can even find new jobs)?
Fact is, "just quit" isn't so easy when that's your only source of income. So how about, instead, you direct your complaints at the people who are actually responsible?
-
@Ihatelife said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799061#Comment_1799061
Then maybe they should change the work?
Because of belligerent customers who blame cashiers for a manager's ######### up? You'd never find another cashier again.
-

If the cashier knew that my milk was bad while checking me out, then I would yell at them too.
They are not allowed to make decisions on your behalf or prevent you from making a purchase (besides the usual, like buying alcohol if you're underage). To do so would risk their job (and, in some countries, their safety, because certain customers don't take kindly to it). You'd literally be yelling at someone who just wants to keep their livelihood.
-
@Ihatelife said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799031#Comment_1799031
It's all they fault. They didn't cared that much about this update, so it turned to be a total trash bin. I'm happy that I didn't buyed that poor DLC.
That's the same "logic" people use to yell at cashiers because of something managers decided to do.
-
It is not possible to be held hostage by the killer if you remain in the dying state, since it ends after 4 minutes. However, it would definitely be possible to be held hostage by the killer if the timer were to reset every single time you were downed. They'd just pick you up and drop you until you wiggled free, then down you again and again.
This would also make slugging more prevalent since it takes 120 seconds to die due to being sacrificed. You would encourage killers to slug - the (new) fastest way to kill.
-
I agree, these consequence-free DCs need to stop.

my ping is always between 50-70 so no its not on my part.
second, im talking about facts and not a hate speech.
the maps get redesigned yes but full with dead zones.
etc
sorry but when a rich company brings just 3 changes every 1,5 months there is something wrong. dont even try to defend BHVR.
im playing since beta and there are still a bunch of problems, after 4+ years.
tell me please what have they done about dedi servers since the release?
im interested in facts not about what they say in the Q&A streams.
if i cant see any important changes they saying "we working on it" doesnt change anything.
how can you be so blind and cant see that they change every time something really unnecessary?
tell me please what have they done about dedi servers since the release?
If you have indeed been playing since beta, then you know that dedicated servers did not exist at the time of release. In fact, they are a relatively recent addition. So what have they done about dedicated servers? Implemented them.
-
Dedicated servers are being worked on. Recently they upped the tick rate to provide a smoother experience.
Hitboxes don't cause nearly as many issues as you seem to believe.
Huntress hatchets were slimmed down at one point, but the cure proved to be worse than the disease.
Weak killers are being buffed.
Maps are being redesigned. That graphical rework you're complaining about? It includes map redesigns.
Perks are being buffed and nerfed.
Matchmaking is being worked on.
They're looking into solutions for the grind, they just don't have anything specific yet. And while I'm sure many people think they have the ultimate solution to this (often "remove perk tiers"), the same thing was said about camping ("just slow the sacrifice speed") and we all know how that went.
So out of all of these "real problems" you say BHVR isn't working on, only one is actually not being addressed. The others have been addressed at some point (to various degrees of success) or are being addressed right now.
PS: Nobody gets banned for criticizing the devs.
-
The kill rates would barely be affected because most killers don't use moris to begin with.
-
Survivor main here. It was always intended as a temporary measure while the devs reworked the maps to the point it's no longer necessary. As such, it will be removed once all the loops are at the devs' desired strength.

so there is no penalty system implemented to try and deter people from breaking the game rules? that's quite interesting you think it's only here to punish people with bad internet. I totally can't agree to that because those with bad internet are the ones caught in the cross fire but you can't make something that can discern a network drop outside of the player's control versus a network cable being pulled. Also the Leave Match functionality is still available to stop people from having to shut the game down in bad ways if they do get stuck in game where egc can't stop it. you might want to re-read what you posted as you are saying the penalty system was implemented because of people who don't deserve to be punished when it was the people that broke the rules badly that caused it to exist in the first place.
Alright, reformulated.

- Freedom of speech applies to what the government can and can't prevent you from saying. In a private venue, they can restrict what you're allowed to say.
- I'm guessing you edited your comment multiple times or had something in it that triggered the spam filter. It happens from time to time.

this is why there is a weak penalty system put in for people who dc to allow that. but it's a step in the right direction. I know they say don't report it but i've moved on reporting disconnects but reporting the exploitation of the leave match functionality to further their own gains (friends getting out, rage quit, what ever).
The penalty system is not "weak" because of people like that. It's that way because, sometimes, you can get stuck in terrain or otherwise suffer from a glitch that can prevent you from playing, while still locking you in the trial.

Because most players don't use it. Those that do, are either a sweaty SWF, or a solo looking for attention.
This wasn't meant to turn into a debate, though. Ethan has shown a disconnect from the playerbase, looking at numbers instead of how things are ingame. That's the problem here.
He bases his statements on the data instead of how he feels things should/would be, like any scientist worth their salt. If the data doesn't support the assertion, then that's that. With that said, Mathieu did follow up by saying that just because something looks fine from a statistical standpoint (which is just an objective fact), it doesn't mean it won't be changed if it's not fun to play with/against.

It is entirely fair that you get punished for making everyone else suffer because your system doesn't meet the requirements. And yes, a stable internet connection is a requirement for an online multiplayer game.

Wouldn't that make the other survivors at fault? Sounds like being held hostage.
Either way, they'd have to be very well organized to pull that off. Possible, reportable, but seems highly unlikely.
1) killers farming is very uncommon
2) survivors working together to sabotage 1 and force them into farming seems incredibly rare.
Regardless of how impossibly rare for that to happen, it doesn't sound fun at all.
Yes, everyone would be at fault in those examples of reportable farming.

How can someone be forced?
If I see a killer farming, I'll just do gens and open gates as fast as possible.
I don't like 5 minute gen rushing on either side, but if farming is involved I'll just end the game quick and on to the next one.
Hook farming, for example. Injuring/Downing them and having other survivors bodyblock and heal them, that sort of thing.

Hahaha, nah, I'm not upset I don't. I just think it's suspicious that you have a knee jerk reaction to what I said and you're so adamant to say it isn't so. Maybe you're right that it isn't a fair representation but at the same time the things I have seen from other people that have been banned, there is a very basic explanation of what they "did wrong". If you disagree with what I have said, that's fine. That's the great thing about a forum, open discussion.
No knee-jerk reaction, just statements of fact. You, however, seem to want to shift the topic of conversation from what you said to how you perceive me to be. Very telling.
I, too, have heard people who've been banned try to claim they were banned for "speaking truth to power" (read: insulting the devs/mods/etc.), or "telling it how it is" (same), or any other heavily whitewashed version of what they actually did. It's very easy to extrapolate exactly what someone did depending on the way they say it.
And I don't "disagree" with what you said because this is a matter of objective truth. I just know you're wrong.

Wouldn't be just easier to write: It will come in one of the future's rifts instead of that?
The way it's written is perfectly clear.
I'm going to assume English is not your first language and that that's the source of the misunderstanding. The phrase "a rift" doesn't refer to any specific rift, it refers to an arbitrary rift, the same way that if I tell you my wallet is in "a pocket", you have no way of knowing which pocket it's in.
"At a later date" is, again, non-specific. It just means "any date after this".
The only problem here was your misunderstanding and I believe you owe the devs an apology.

I'm not really sure why you're so upset over this. When I said I have seen screen shots of things it means just that, I've seen it, it doesn't mean I have not seen it.
I'm sure you've probably seen some screenshots, but you definitely didn't see an honest representation of reality. What I'm not sure is why you keep trying to push this narrative that I'm "so upset over this". Is replying somehow an indication that I'm upset? If so, then I suppose you must be equally upset.

Interesting, but you seem upset by my comment, so I'll just say this, I have seen people point game flaws whether it be game mechanics or toxic players then they have been banned, but my perspective of it is seeing that then what that person says happened. I don't know every single time what people have done but based on screenshots I have seen it is a little suspicious. I would hope it doesn't happen but there's nothing for me to believe otherwise. 🤷♂️
That's because stuff that breaks the rules is deleted, so you don't see it. This is how it works on every forum and social media website.
