  • Creating a safe area for Survivors is a bad and unbalanced idea.

Hmm so most of the community is Euro?

    That's interesting...

    silly kiddo

The world is larger than NA and EU, but again I forgive a kid like you, nvm

Say what you want. The game is based in NA, and has MOST of its players in NA. Fact.

So my timezone takes priority in a game where it is based.

So yeah, people crying about stuff because they live in EU is stupid. It's our fault that you guys are ahead in time?

    Who cares. Grow up.

Why are you crying? Is it our fault you're behind us in time? Who cares. Grow up.

Alright, let me rephrase: the Entity doesn't care about a holiday that's only celebrated by a very small percentage of the planet.

I don't see why they would, given the seamless integration of the lore into the game's mechanics.

  • This is normal after a patch, since the game will not allow players with different versions to play together. It happens every time there's a patch.

Nope, the pallets are now working as originally intended.
Please don't ask to go back to the broken system we had to endure for over year now.
Pallets are not supposed to be safe places and trading hits is ok.
If you do want the 1000 points for the stun, you need to take a risk.
Guess why the reward is so high?

The killer should not be able to get a hit and be stunned it should be one or the other.
Since the change is made to get both, I think if the killer misses during his swing at the pallet and gets stunned, his weapon should fall on the ground and have to pick it back up. There is no penalty for him swinging and missing is BS, especially with the 10 foot lunge they have.

You got hit before the Killer got stunned, or the two happened simultaneously. A stun doesn't magically make the weapon disappear. And no, you don't get Franklin's Demise against Killers as a default mechanic.

Clearly not long enough if you don't know boosted players don't belong in the rank they're boosted to, by definition.

The rank system also wasn't created for boosted players to stay at high ranks and ruin everyone else's game, yet for some reason you're OK with that abuse that your suggestion would create.

The only person being "abused" is the boosted survivor. If they choose to boost themselves thats on them

And everyone else who happens to get into their trial. Killers don't like games that are too easy, and Survivors don't like it when one of their teammates puts up about as much of a fight as a toddler vs. an MMA fighter.

Some killers obviously enjoy it, or they would not choose to stay at low ranks. I would love to hear your solution to stop the abuse I am trying to fix?

Which I think is much more of a problem than a foolish survivor who uses an SWF team to boost himself and then sees why he doesnt deserve to be at that rank.

Perhaps there could be a failsafe, three bad solo queue games (say 2 out of 3 are a depip), then they are reduced a levels.

Using player-specific metrics, it should be fairly easy to find a pattern of "rank up->DC multiple games->rank up" (i.e.: someone deranking to abuse noobs). Then it's a simple matter of liberally applying the banhammer.

And when people just stop DCing and start doing intentionally bad?

Not only would that require ten times the effort of DCing and thus not be worth their time, it'd still be measurable.

Being boosted doesn't work like that. You don't learn by having other people do everything for you. You learn by observing what they're doing and understanding why they do it. Boosted players do not belong in the ranks they reach.

People shouldn't abuse exploits either, but they do.

They have the chance to observe whilst playing with them. And if they are friends, they can always ask for help to improve.

Doesnt mean we should work on finding ways to discouraging that abuse.

They won't learn, and they won't ask. How long have you been playing multiplayer games with ranks?

Yeah, it does. All abuses should be discouraged or outright stopped.

Too long. I learnt DBD with an SWF team I met in a discord group, who were way better than me. I was probably ranks ahead of what I should have been, but I think I learnt the game much faster as a survivor.

An abuse is people camping at low levels to be toxic or to play easy mode. That isnt what the rank system was created for.

But this also creates a problem. SWF boosting is extremely common. If the boosted player decides to go solo in high ranks, they're ruining the game for everyone else.

If hes playing with people who are highly skilled, then I see no reason why he wouldn't learn the game even faster than the average survivor.

People should never be using other survivors to intentionally boost themselves to high ranks anyway. That isn't what the system was intended for.

  • Survivors:
    1. Promotes gen rush.
    2. Borrowed Time is already a thing.
    3. Promotes hook rush.

    Killers:
    1. Should be a base mechanic, if anything.
    2. Hex perks are worthless, and you might as well just buff Ruin.
    3. Not a bad idea.

  • @Kuris said:
We know it takes, at max, 80 seconds to do a gen (excluding thanataphobia). Lets assume you find 1 survivor in 10 seconds. Other survivors have found gens that spawned close to them

There are now 75 seconds left on 3 gens. You run through 3 pallets, you are looped the three times and then swing, not respecting, and are stunned. You've wasted 20 seconds looping, you are stunned for 2.1 seconds (without enduring) You break the pallet, taking an additional 1.8 (with Brutal Strength III).

There are now 3 gens, on or about 50 seconds.

Second pallet, repeat the same process.

There are now 3 gens, on or about 25 seconds.

Finally, you are ran around the killer shack for 10 seconds. They do not drop the pallet, they mess the loop and you down them in an optimistic 10 seconds. You have a 2 second pickup animation after the over 1 second cooldown from hitting.

13 seconds left on 3 gens.

Luckily, the killer shack has the basement, you walk down in 5 seconds, you hook over a period of 2 seconds, and walk back up in another five. You leave the killer shack, 3 gens are completed or about to be.

Don't bother. I've mathematically proven that the Killers need buffs because of how quickly gens are finished, and Survivors just ignore it.

  • @Nick said:
If they remove the previous nerfs for survivors this might be balanced. But I think that it will hurt the game too much

No need to remove what few nerfs there were. Survivors are still only balanced 3v1.

  • If I'm not mistaken, Doc's test subjects didn't really survive the treatments.

  • I think this would be a hotfix that could effectively replace any and all Killer buffs that are in the works. However, it would also require the devs to stop nerfing Survivors and effectively block any changes on both sides until new characters and perks were introduced.

  • Why only NA? Are PS4's not available outside of NA?

  • I suggested this, but Survivors would rather punish Killers for not playing how they want and not have to be punished for their own mistakes.

  • I started a Steam group to try to translate this message way back when it was first released, but nobody actually helped or cared at the time. It's weird to see this actually become relevant almost a year after it was released.

Anyway, I found that some words can be translated backwards into various languages. My guess was that the entire message was backwards. In fact, part of the message, when translated backwards, means something like "Look mother/mom", which I believe was a reference to Anna (The Huntress).

Such is the problem with clickbait titles.

The title isn't really a clickbait. It shows you a game that could potentially replace DBD. The problem is it sucks and the title actually asks you since you know... its a ? at the the end. So since you can answer the question yourself the title fits perfectly.

That IS how clickbait works. The idea is to get you interested in the content even if the title does not accurately describe it. There's even a law for news headlines with question marks. Namely, that the answer is most often "No", because the person who wrote it knows they have nothing and just want to get people to read the article.

I think that if all Survivors are in the dying state for a certain amount of time and none of them can get back up on their own, the game should automatically end, and all Survivors die simultaneously.

You wouldn't account for wiggling free, self-unhooks, potential teammates with Perks to stand, etc. Maybe you meant with no absolute means, all third-hooks and no helpful perks, but how could the game calculate all that? You can still wiggle free even so (depending on hook distance). I don't want slugging to come back, that was awful. Bleeding out should grant no points to anyone.

"for a certain amount of time". Obviously I'm referring to a situation where the Killer has no intention of hooking them and is standing still or otherwise not picking them up.

  • @Mringasa said:
Just as Survivors should not expect a free escape, Killers shouldn't expect a free sacrifice. If you're going to camp someone at the end of the match, and I definitely think this is a good tactic to use, then you should do it smart.

Don't hook them in front of the gate like an idiot. Hook them as far from the gate as possible.
Get used to your TR and stay that distance from the hook so BT can't proc.
Get better with your chase so you can avoid the bodyblockers at that point. Path a way to the gate that uses LoS blockers or something to give you a chance to get another hook/sacrifice.
Run NOED. Survivors see that Exposed warning and the totem draws them like flies. They want that totem almost as much as they want that Survivor you hooked. I've seen a Killer camp the NOED totem post-match and get a 4k because Survivors HAD to take it down before rescuing even though it was on the opposite side of the map from the hook.

If you expect a free sacrifice when the gates are powered, think again. Blood Warden exists to draw out that endgame, as do a few other Perks. There are reasons Perks like BT and Noone Left Behind are in the game. I would be interested to see if anyone actually runs an endgame build for Survivor. Killers obviously do, which can be pretty effective, but I've actually not seen someone as a Survivor build to the endgame.

Killers don't expect free sacrifices. They know they have to work for it (find, chase, and outsmart Survivors), because that's how the game is.

  • @BLUE_APE: Bottom line is, Survivors are not willing to get rid of camping the right way - by buffing Killers in very specific ways that incentivize them to leave the hook. They just want Killers to be punished because "it's not fun", and when that fails, they mock, harass, and bully Killers into doing what they want. Hell, I've had one harass me on this very forum just for defending Killer strategies and buffs, even though he has never played with or against me in any game.

Since the devs won't tilt the game in the Survivors' favor any more, and Survivors are not willing to have Killers buffed, all Survivors will have to deal with the completely valid strategy that is camping.

I don't really care if the survivors complain, their job is way easier then killer's. Just because they would complain does not mean it wouldn't be just to do so. Honestly, now that i think about it, pretty sure the survivors get less points then the killers, so that is incentive enough for the survivors to play killer more often.

Pretty sure Survivors get more bloodpoints, especially if they farm the hook. And yeah, I'm not too concerned about Survivors whining, but the devs might.

Camping is fine, and hook gymnastics are already a thing. Survivors need to get over themselves and accept the fact that they're not always going to survive every game.

And killers need to understand that they aren't always going to kill someone, and resorting to camping is the for the weak.

A while ago I played against a full prestieged Trapper, and there wasn't any juking him. he didn't camp or tunnel and he killed pretty much everyone before we got any gens done.

Camping isn't fun for either sides, killers who camp could just be doing it to win, which is stupid. Campers are just playing a game to win at something they aren't even good at. so campers play a different game and quit wasting our matches, when we could be playing more fun and challenging matches with a good killer.

Killers do know that and accept it. They camp for various reasons, but one reason is that they really want you dead. Saying "camping is the for the weak" (sic) to try to shame Killers into playing the way you want doesn't work.

    Pro tip:
When you try to make an argument against something Killers do that you don't think is fun, reverse the argument so that it's against something Survivors do that Killers don't think it's fun. For example, your comment here would become:

And Survivors need to understand they aren't always going to escape, and resorting to looping/DS/SB/SC/BT is for the weak.

A while ago I played against a full prestiged Dwight, and there wasn't any way to find him. He didn't use any meta perks or loop and he escaped without ever being seen, before I even killed someone.

Looping/DS/SB/SC/BT isn't fun for either side, Survivors who loop or use those perks could just be doing it to win, which is stupid. Loopers are just playing a game to win at something they aren't even good at. (sic) So loopers play a different game and quit wasting our matches, when we could be playing more fun and challenging matches with a good Survivor.

Now, did that convince you? Obviously not.

It is every game though. That's what you don't get, EVERY GAME I have to just let someone die on the hook. If the guy ends up dying by the end of the trial I don't care. I've left survivors to bleed out for 2 minutes so I can take the hatch. I get this part of the game. What I'm saying is that killers should not be able to just get easy kills because they don't have enough brains cells to rub together to actually get some skill in the game.

Too.#########.bad. Maybe you should complain that the Survivors you're playing with don't have enough brain cells to escape the Killer.

I think that once a survivor is hooked, a you can either struggle to get free (the first time of course) , and/or Call.

The new action Call would make one of those noise animation the killers can see when someone messes up a gen or vaults (ect). To the survivors, the call notification will either glow green signaling that they need help and the killer isn't near by, but if the killer is with in a certain range (I'm not sure how far yet but a decent distance) then the call will be red and if the killer is close enough to the hook then his aura will be revealed to the other survivors.

Note: the more you use the call, the slower cool down is after you use it. The cool down will reset when you have been rescued from the hook. You can also use this action even if you are struggling after your second hooking.

How ever, the killer will be notifide if the hooked survivor is calling out for help. But the notification will be just yellow and whatever colors are in it. Killers can counter this new action with the perk Knock out.

I think this should be a new action, not a new perk because, camping is a nasty thing in this game. I can understand camping after the exit gates have been opened, but over all it needs to stop.

Camping is fine, and hook gymnastics are already a thing. Survivors need to get over themselves and accept the fact that they're not always going to survive every game.

  • Seriously, what is wrong with you Survivors? Just because you want to do something doesn't mean you can or should be able to do it. If that's the kind of game you want, it already exists. It's called a "Sandbox" game. This is an asymmetrical horror multiplayer game, where you will not always get your way. If you want a sandbox game, then go play a sandbox game.

  • @FixTheCamping said:
It should based off skill not because a killer decides to camp its just unfair
