It's not something you can do by accident and it's not random, you have to go out of your way and do several steps to make it happen. We have a way to verify who is the real killer (i.e. who started the lobby) and who is the "fake" killer(s). If you are the real killer and someone does the exploit in your lobby, you are safe, we are not going to ban legitimate players.
So how was the exploit discovered, if it's not something you can do by accident? Bootstrap paradox?

Blind the killer automatically if he remains too close to the hook without being engaged in a pursuit ?
Increase bleeding time on the hook ?
Brok the hook if the Killer camp ? (Define an area around the hook)
Here's a better alternative: go make your own game with a killer AI whose behavior you can dictate to your heart's content.

What about perks like whispers
What about them? There is no perk that freely reveals a survivor's location.

How the hell you play safer when killer found you and chases you
You play safer by not allowing the killer to find you. If you get found, that means the killer was better at finding you than you were at hiding, and he shouldn't be punished for it.

The BPs debit needs to be more generous to try and discourage the behavior. What are the anti-camp perks? Afaik there is nothing to protect the rescuer? That's the real issue for many people, can you even get the hooked person that may have DS or Mettle off? Even the anti-tunnel perks don't do much. Run DS and if you keep a chase going for a minute, DS is rendered useless.
If you keep a chase going for a minute, you don't need DS.
Why do survivors want to pretend the killer isn't supposed to be a threat? If the killer is there, you're not supposed to want to be chased or get closer so you can unhook in his face. You're supposed to want to run away, because he's dangerous.

@Carpemortum That was also my initial reaction. After reading the part "3 people healing the injured survivor" I just skipped the question.
And guys, don't forget, that quiz doesn't have to be perfect. It was just made for everybody to have fun, so thanks @AlwaysInAGoodShape ! 😊 ❤️
I'm not saying the quiz has to be perfect. Everybody makes mistakes. Pointing out that mistake was supposed to get OP to correct it.
EDIT: And I was just informed of another mistake - three survivors can't heal a fourth survivor. It's been capped at two for a long time.

But if you hook a survivor for the FIRST time, and the game automatically sacrifices them, you didn't 'earn' anything because the game gifted you a sacrifice. As I have mentioned, if that survivor is running Deliverance, DS, and MoM, then the sacrifice was even less earned.
To get that automatic sacrifice, the killer had to wipe out all other survivors first. How is that not earned?
-
You lost. Accept it and move on. Stop trying to deprive killers of their earned kills.

@Orion technically the quiz wanted the answer of Bill, as that's what was put as the correct answer.
But your answer would be the true answer, regardless of how the quiz was setup.
Is that what I gather?
I answered what the quiz wanted. I'm merely pointing out that what the quiz wanted was wrong - on PS4, Bill does not exist.

@Orion OK. Still wrong when it's about the quiz, but in general it's right.
I'm not sure I made myself clear. I gave the answer the quiz wanted (which is technically the "right" answer).

@Orion sorry about 1, I didnt noice, and about 2, you got it wrong because he creates the answers for that quiz so what he says is the answers. Regardless of whether they're wrong or right.
I edited my reply to expand a bit on 2.
-
@Poweas said:
Yeah @NuclearBurrito me too. @Orion it looks like you tried to over think the answer, because the trick was too obvious. Whether @AlwaysInAGoodShape intended for you to fall for it by overthinking it is intended or not, you still got it wrong and you need to accept that.
You're smart, but sometimes you overthink stuff, but I understand that, I used to do it all the time myself, but sometimes things that are blatantly obvious, can be the right answer.
Knowing how intelligent @AlwaysInAGoodShape is, he probably intended for us to see it as a trick, and overthink it.
That's my take on it anyway.
Two things you got wrong:
- He already said he did not think of that.
- I didn't answer incorrectly.
I gave the correct answer as far as the quiz is concerned, but the quiz itself is wrong. This is like old versions of Trivial Pursuit that (wrongly) state the Great Wall of China is visible from space. The right answer to the question, as far as the game is concerned, is that the Great Wall of China is visible from space, but objectively, no man-made object can be seen from space.

Bill's playrate is 0% on ps4. Bill exists within the dbd universe. That is what i said. Not what you said I said.
At least 83% of the people understood it.
There is no Bill on PS4. Bill cannot be played on PS4. People do not choose not to play him on PS4; he is not an option to begin with. I thought you were being clever and put Bill there to see if people would understand that you can't have a 0% play rate on something that doesn't exist, but apparently you just made a mistake.

Bill is not Null in DBD. Jason is.
The Dead by Daylight universe exists regardless of what platform the game is on. Hence why Meg on ps4 is not a different person from Meg on pc.
The mistake you're making is viewing ps4 DBD as an isolated product and universe instead of simply comparing the data of all characters in this universe across platform. Considering the title there is no reason to assume we're not talking about the DBD universe.
Bill is null on PS4. I viewed PS4 on its own, which is the way you wrote it. On PS4, Bill does not exist.
You made a mistake. That's all.

Is Bill a survivor?; Yes
How often do you play him on ps4?; 0 times.
Bill is the least played survivor on ps4 because he is not available on ps4.
Look up the difference between zero and null in programming. Something that doesn't exist has no attributes.
To say that Bill is the least played survivor on PS4 is like saying that Jason is the least played killer in DbD.

Stunned by palet.. you can moonwalk so dodge the stun, to counter loop you can flick your mouse,blinded-lightborn,genrush-hexruin,getting blocked by stw when someone wiggle- mad grid.. there are lot of counters. And i think there isnt any counter vs camp

You could avoid getting hooked by winning at stealth and winning chases. Regardless, that isn't your argument. Your argument is that it's "not fun". Well, neither is getting stunned, looped, blinded, or genrushed, just to name a few. So let's removed anything that can stun (pallets and perks), remove all walls and windows, and remove all generators. Because it's "not fun".

Any smart legion with ears would be able to hear the survivor running up to them in order to begin a chase. They could either turn around and hit them or simply wait for them to appear in front of them and down them. Thinking like that entirely is stupid as your Mend timer is already drained significantly, and all they would have to do is use their power and down you, either that, or m1. Whoever told you that, probably don't know what they are talking about. @Orion
@Tzeentchling9 It wouldn't make sense because no one uses No mither to begin with. And moonwalking Legion isn't even the basis of the discussion to begin as well, it's the bugged add-ons,
Also, in response to your tracking perks, if you are moonwalking to find them, yes, you are exploiting it the same thing could be said for looking down and not chasing them. Same thing goes for Stridor, but it can be countered slightly by Iron Will, and unless you actually have a brain, you should be able to find the survivor as they still make some bit of noise.
Sounds are bugged, so that wouldn't necessarily be the case. Also, the forumgoer who commented this method claimed to have a decent success rate with it. Besides, worst case-scenario, you're stuck in the same situation - about to go into the dying state.

I didnt play for long time so i lost my rank im at rank 17 i started to play Yesterday.. i played 10 games mb and 8 times killer camp.. i playing solo so its hard to work around it bcs theyre not too good so its hard.. and if i play with friends we usually playing vs 13-5 rank killers.. theyre camping too and when they pop the gen.. he dont care ane he still waitin for my death.. so with my idea i think that 80# killers that camp right know will stop camping and game will be more fun for survival and it will be more about skill for Killer and i think it will be more Fun for the killer..
Its a game and we playing games to not getting bored with many facecampers that game Will be boring.. games should be fun
Let's remove pallet stuns, since they're not fun for killers.
I thought I told you already that "not fun" is not an argument.

So why did i take him to say it, and not you. If that is the counter-play then it doesn't excuse the fact that no one is going to be running No Mither 24/7. Thinking that is just stupid. Nor was i talking to you either.
Because I'd never thought of No Mither as a counter to moonwalking. The only counter I know that wasn't mentioned in this thread, as far as I could tell, is triggering the chase conditions yourself. It's not like the Legion can see exactly where you are, so you should be able to run around them and force them into a chase. At least, so I was told.

Of course you did, so when you said you weren't talking to me, you probably should have just ignored it and continued talking to the other dude you were talking with.
Anyways, I understand that the devs are the ones that have the say, but considering that they are weak in the communications department, things like that would take time to speak up about. Either way, it's still considered a cheese to get the match going in your favor.
Let me rephrase so it's absolutely clear: I wasn't originally talking to you, but then you jumped in to defend the person I was actually talking to. I therefore assumed you were of the same mind.

And to gain an advantage? yes. Yes it is.
I didn't quote you, I quoted someone else. You jumped in to argue for him, so I figured you agreed with him.
No, it's not. An exploit is anything that the developer team (implicitly or explicitly) considers an exploit. We, as in players, have no power in deciding what is or isn't an exploit, because only the developers know what is an acceptable strategy and what is an exploit.
-
@Detective_Jonathan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/418697#Comment_418697
Now hold up, i didn't say they should be banned, i said that no one is saying they should be banned, banning them never came out of anyones mouth. Pay attention, we are talking about whether it is an exploit or not, we are not talking about "Whether it is an exploit or not, and should it be bannable?"
And as far as the devs are concerned, they did say that it is a cheese of the chase mechanic, so in a way, they did say that it is an exploit (Moonwalking that is) @Orion
@Tzeentchling9 Well, of course it isn't fair, except in the way you put it is as if i am crying about it or something. But the point is,you can't do anything about it, as there is nothing if a legion is moonwalking you, Myers can be avoided until his power runs out, there's nothing you can do against a moonwalking Legion.
I'm questioning why someone would report someone else in the first place if they don't think they should be banned. I was also not talking to you when I mentioned reports and bans.
Cheesing is not the same as exploiting.

No one is saying they should be banned, we are trying to debate on whether or not it is considered an exploit, which it is, because the add-ons are bugged, and thus abusing that bug is considered exploiting.
Abusing any mechanic in the game to gain any type of advantage is considered an exploit, nothing else.
The devs are the ones who have to consider whether something is an exploit or not.
If you don't think exploiters should be banned, then what's the point of reporting them?
-

So do footsteps. And Stridor.
I follow people that flashlight me at pallets when they are healthy. Just look ahead and figure a path that the survivor will most likely take. Probably to a pallet or window. If they run back into the spot you just were well that pallet is gone so they can't loop you.
Sound bugs also exist and seem to come around fairly often. I'm surprised you didn't know about that, since there's so much discussion on the subject.
-
@Detective_Jonathan said:

Pallet Looping is a legit strategy that has a counter-play, Moonwalking is abusing the chase mechanic because their is nothing the survivor can do about it.
To leave it in would seriously hurt BHVR and it's playerbase, you have perks to help you deal with pallets and a mechanic to help you in chases called "Bloodlust" since you seem to forget what that does.
Moonwalking also has counterplay, according to some forumgoers. It's just hard to pull off.

"camping is the best tactical decision a killer can make. When the gates are powered and open, when survivors are buzzing around the hook" ok in late will be change but if you camp in early game its bad... in late camp is not ok too but its better then in early.. still if killer have noed its worst... i think that you are killer player i think that youre not playing survival.. bcs lot of peoples that play survival are getting tilted bcs of campers
I play both sides, which is how I know camping is a non-issue. It's a strategy that ends with one kill, tops, as long as the survivors don't feed. Sometimes not even one kill, depending on how quickly gens are rushed.
-
@_Dead_InSide_ said:
first im not new.. and the second if youre playing normal this nerf will not works on you bcs it will works on campers... so if you are not camper you will be ok so what is your problem about it?
So how many hours do you have? I've been assuming you're new because your complaints are typical of new players, but if that's not the case, I apologize.
Occasionally, camping is the best tactical decision a killer can make. When the gates are powered and open, when survivors are buzzing around the hook, Dying Light, and a bunch of other situations. For those reasons alone, I am against any punishment for camping, regardless of my own playstyle.
Then there's the fact that the killer, as the power role, should be free to do as they please with the weak role, survivors. Survivors don't get on the hook by themselves, the killer had to do his job to put them there. Why should the killer then be punished for trying to make sure that survivor dies? Camping is already the worst thing the killer can do, since it means he lacks map pressure.
This would be like introducing a mechanic that forces survivors to get hit by the killer every time they complete a generator, and if they don't get hit, they can't complete a generator.
-
@_Dead_InSide_ said:

its bad argument that killers getting stunned by pallets.. bcs pallets are not infinty and you cant repair it... hook will repair.. and if you are good killer you wont have a problem with killing survival
It's the same argument you're making - it's "not fun" to be stunned.
Hooks don't repair after a sacrifice unless the killer is running a very specific perk.
If you think killers are overpowered, then please, play killer until you reach rank 1, and then keep playing. Survivors who do this realize they were wrong about how powerful killers really are.
Keep in mind you're new at the game. Like I said, you're going to have a hard time playing at first. Most people who still play this game have hundreds, sometimes thousands of hours of play time and access to just about every perk there is. You can't expect to compete with that right away.
-
@ApeOfMazor said:
I think its ok that a killer or two is not optimal for high rank play but to have them mostly be bad is not good design. They need to rethink their design philosophy.
Indeed. It's fine to have "noob killers" that are easy to learn and basically just serve to teach you the ropes (like the Trapper). It's not OK to have that be the majority of killers.

"Fun" is not an argument for butchering a tactic, especially when that tactic already has counters and is inherently bad for the person who engages in it.
