Lol you just love forcing that victim Narrative on black folks don't you? But continue with your unchecked biases, I find it quite funny that the person who I initially engaged with in this forum is correcting you for trying to make me look morally shallow.
Again I never said anything about being a victim. I didn't paint myself in anyway at all, I was staying a case for equity, and I don't know from my last post how you could even get that unless you already see all black folks as "pulling the race card" or "playing victim" Well mr. Scholarship, congrats for trying to upset me, but I'd hate to be accused of being an angry black man so I'll just leave this conversation before I allow myself to say something you can compartmentalize in your little black box.
I find it quite funny that the person who I initially engaged with in this forum is correcting you for trying to make me look morally shallow.
I am unbiased, despite what some people may believe and/or say.

Exactly. It just needs to happen naturally, not become an agenda with a million threads claiming why it’s important. One or two were cool but it’s becoming a repetitive back and forth affair.
You didn't read the OP, did you? OP didn't even provide an answer to the question, it's a thread for discussing the subject. For the record, there have been way more threads complaining about this than supporting it. I would know, I posted in pretty much every single one.
It already happened naturally. There's at least one LGBT character already in the roster, according to the devs, whom they're going to "out". Note how nobody even noticed.

🤦 I refer you to my previous post with the autism example. It's such a cop out of a statement. "I'm not calling you a racist but you are acting racist." It's like when he said there was a conspicuous lack of BLM support from bhvr. He wasn't calling bhrv openly racist, but he was implying they don't care about the black community. I actually prefer if he just came out and said what he thought instead of playing word games.
And I refer you to my reply to that post. Believe me, if someone wants to call you a bigot, they'll just call you a bigot.

It is so weird to me that you would question their motives. What monetary gain?! "Our new killer is so gay!! Buy them now for just $5.99!"
I see a ton of gamers who seem to resent the inclusion of LGBT stuff in games. If anything, publishers probably lose money because of it.
According to many people, "get woke, go broke" is a thing, so either publishers lose money by adding nontroversies, or the slogan is 100% fake. You can probably guess which one I think it is.

If that's true wouldn't the onus be on them to confirm what someone is saying before launching accusations.
In this case I can look at every post he's put on this thread to see he's a race baiter who criticized me and other for trying to stay on topic.
The way I read it, they didn't accuse you of anything, they simply said you were coming across in a certain way.

It is indeed unfortunate that "boring" has been co-opted by some people to be a thinly-veiled nerf request, especially when some things really are boring, like having to hold down M1 to repair gens when a simple toggle should suffice.

I didn’t read each comment so I can’t speak for others. Starting off by saying any kind of hate towards people who are gay is not right, although everyone is entitled to their disagreement with it due to religion or whatever. Obviously a lot of people would be mad if someone was creating threads about excluding gay content from the game, but I’m sure the people who say they are “seething with resentment” would be quick to attack them, call them names, etc.
Not sure who you directed your specific post to, but I’ll address the second to last paragraph. I don’t think anyone (at least not me) is saying BHVR will get rich by adding gay content, just that adding said content is for monetary gain - not because it’s important to be inclusive.
Monetary gain and being inclusive are not mutually exclusive goals. You can do both.

Well then that's your opinion. Nowhere did I say anything that could be twisted as bigoted. It's another case of if I can't win an argument, I'll attack the person saying it. People looking for ######### that isn't there to fill a narrative.
That's how I read their statement and that's how it is the majority of the time. Just because you say something with a certain intention doesn't mean everyone will pick up on your intention. It's a very common phenomenon; you wouldn't believe the number of times I've come across as homophobic to my boyfriend.

All hook perks should work with cages, they act as hooks when they take away your hook states.
They're not hook states, they're sacrificial states. Hooks were simply the only way for the killer to progress them until now.

It's only a short jump between the two. And look at the context of his last paragraph. It's clear what he was saying about me. I simply pointed out his error in logic. By your logic, if I said someone was coming off as autistic I wouldn't be in any hot water because I didn't call them autistic.
This is the problem when people start playing words games.
A short jump, sure, but a jump nonetheless. When I'm coming off as rude, I expect my friends and family to point out that I'm coming off as rude because I'm not always the best judge of that. The same goes for coming off as racist, sexist, homophobic (yes, LGBT people can come off as homophobic too!), and so on.
It's not a word game, it's someone informing you that your point didn't come across correctly.

It's usually just for brownie points. It's good PR too. A majority of companies don't care, ask them about the middle east and what they're doing for pride month there, you'll see just how much they really care. On one hand they get attacked for not celebrating it but on the other people will still get mad if they do embrace it. It's a lose-lose scenario and the best way to play it is to just go with what ever hurts less. Companies have no beliefs, they believe in money. Pride month has really become nothing more than a giant shill that people want to be out raged about. Whether they think that one person is being too much of this or another one isn't enough of this. It doesn't have any impact anymore. People don't care about it. All they think is "oh yeah it's gay month." as Walmart tells you how much they love LGBT now that it's time to love LGBT. I see it a lot like Black History Month. Why restrain it to a single month? If you're trying to bring change and inform people why do it only for 1 month? Present it in a digestable way and make change through action. Show everyone that we're just normal people who want to live our lives like everyone else.
Nobody attacked BHVR before they started celebrating it, though. It was only when they started celebrating it that they were attacked.
The idea behind months and holidays is that they provide a time frame to focus on one issue at a time. It's more digestible to focus on one thing at a time instead of being bombarded with every topic year-round 24/7.

Nope. Cages are not hooks and if they did this they'd need to do the same for killer perks like BBQ.

In fact, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only romance of any kind that's even been mentioned in the game at all is between wraith and nurse, correct? Which seemed strange to me in any regards.
You are indeed wrong. Nurse has been said to have a husband and Frank and Julie (Legion) have an extensive lore that's literally all about their relationship and how it was a driving force behind the Legion, just to name the biggest examples. Neither received any complaints.

Ok, I agree with this - it’s not important to everyone, which means it’s not important to the game... just those who would like to see their small demographic represented.
Yup, just like the Spirit and Oni being Asian, it doesn't impact the game in any way, positively or negatively, except for those minorities that enjoy it. So overall, it's a good thing because it has no downside and makes some people happy.

You just proved how wrong you are about everything. You tried to take a topic completely out of the bounds of the thread and turn it into a discussion on BLM. Don't deny it, it's in writing.
You say that you didn't like the protests being turned into something else by liberals(I won't use a ride term like you did) and then you try to do exactly that.
You paint yourself as a victim by saying your movement (based on mostly lies and misconceptions) was taken over by others.
Also, you resorted to name calling which is just immature. No where did I say anything that could be construed as bigotry. But play the "he disagreed with me so he's a RacIsT" card all you want.
Saying you come across as X isn't the same as saying you are X. Misunderstandings are a thing, like how you just misunderstood what someone else was saying and assumed they were calling you a racist.

It's literally not all that dramatic, though.
If I run perks as a survivor to give me every possible advantage, if I get into a whole SWF group and we load up on flashlights with the singular goal being to bully a killer, that's toxic.
Nobody gets upset about losing, people get upset about whether or not they were able to play the game before losing.
Losing because you keep getting caught? That's fine. Because hatch was closed in your face? Also fine. Because you tried a stupid play and it didn't work? Fine.
But going out of your way to tunnel or camp effectively is choosing to make one player unable to play the game and it's inconsiderate, the same way SWF groups will load into a lobby without the intention of doing gens, totems or any kind of daily objective and will actively aim to make a killer chase em around til they DC.
Survivors, in that situation, get little to no choice in what is going to take place in the game, while the killer is afforded the option. To tunnel or camp or not to tunnel or camp? To play the game with no skill or effort or to actually try? Why even play this game if you don't want to patrol gens, outsmart or hook different people? If you want to chase down the same person over and over and secure kills that way, you may as well play any sort of FPS out there.
Survivors, in that situation, get little to no choice in what is going to take place in the game, while the killer is afforded the option.
Yes, that's what the role was made for, to be put in a situation where you have to overcome a stronger opponent who has more agency than you. I don't understand why so many survivors seem surprised by this.
-
In this picture there's a key.
If you say so.

I've literally for years now, have suggested giving the Killer Camper a animation Headache Visual Blinding as if being flashlighted, for camping a certain meters proximity with a hooked survivor they recently hooked. If they have a survivor scream animation for healing perk for PH. Why not animate a Killer Camper the same. Blinding them as a penalty for face camping. Seems no one is favor of that idea instead rather whine about it all day every day
Mechanics based on punishing the killer due to proximity to the hook have proven to be highly abusable by survivors. Rush gens when killers camp instead of feeding and they'll stop doing it once they realize it no longer works.

What's going wrong might be the developers.
These might be the worst ones I've ever seen.
They DONT listen to posts that are actually detailed in Why this perk should be nerfed or etc. I feel they only read the majority of posts saying "NERF THIS PERK REEEE" and they do so, shifting the balance further into one of unbalance.
They intentionally ignore some questions in Q and A's that needed to be answered.
They are believed to be biased due to them buffing things that don't need to be buffed, or nerfing perfectly balanced perks on the PTB before fully releasing it. Without no prior testing. Just a hit and run. (They should really be adjusting the perk statistics in the PTB until it's just right instead of doing last-minute changes without anyone getting to say otherwise. Look at Gearhead, as it's a good example.)
And the Anti cheat systems are poor.
The problem with "they don't listen to X" is that you're conflating "listen to" with "act upon what is said". They are not the same thing.
If I want to accomplish a goal and you tell me I should try X, but I try Y instead, that doesn't mean I didn't listen to you. It means I disagreed with you that X was a good idea. Given that the game has grown a lot since launch, I think the devs are on the right path, even if the vocal minority believes that they're not.

As a person who is a killer main, I understand the utter brokenness of this perk. I was one of the killers that thought sprint perks were broken because they actually were wholeheartedly. The thing is it’s useless to stack crutch perks now. There is no point of running those types of perks together anymore. Even though you can stack those perks and hex perks why would you? Hex perks are crutch perks, but killers fail to understand that. Anything that can give you exposed status is crutch. My argument is that NO-ED is too much crutch, just like balanced landing used to be. All the killer mains would agree how bad BL, SB, and Lithe used to be. All survivors would agree NO-ED is the ultimate crutch. And perhaps you’re only going against my proposal of changing the perk because you aren’t good at survivor or killer, and just maybe you yourself have abused this perk before and see no issue with it. The issue lies with Status effect. If it was similar to haunted ground it would be more tolerable. A perk that strong is not okay. At some point you have to see the connections I’m making between survivor and killer.
As a survivor main, I think it's perfectly fine and that other survivors just need to use its counter: cleansing totems. A perk that strong is fine when it makes the killer have only three perks for a majority of the trial.
-
The trial isn't over until you've escaped or died. Don't presume you've won just because the gates are powered and cleanse totems.
-
I'm pretty sure this idea was already thrown out when they disabled the lighting offerings.
-
- Don't confuse the forums with "the community". The forums are a tiny minority of all players.
- Don't confuse "listen" with "do". Just because someone listened to your idea doesn't mean they have to do it. We're not their employers, we're customers. We can provide feedback and that's it. They're under no obligation to do as we say.
-
No, it doesn't. Survivors just need to cleanse totems.

No, the devs have stated time and time again that this game is casual, which is their excuse for the God awful balance.
Guarantee I am the most competitive person in here, but I don't want to abuse game mechanics and make people miserable to win.
The game may be intended to be casual, but it's being played competitively. If you're not playing competitively, that means you're not playing to win. If you're not playing to win, you shouldn't care if you lose.

I dont agree with you, imo its the same mindset but a lack of knowledge or fear of consequences.
Remember when Wake Up was bugged and boosted everything? yeah its those people who would use it all the time and heck you can borderline call that cheating through dev fault, or atleast abusing an exploit.
This game is not a competitive game, its far to broken for that with way too many niggles.
Now if only we could somehow match up try-hards with try-hards....but that wont happen because they both want meaningless ez wins so they would not be happy
And I do not care about losing, I run every perk in the game and give my killers and survivors each their own set for fun, and I do not run add ons or items because imo its just nonsense, but that is all besides the point.
We'll have to agree to disagree. In my experience, people who play to win take pride in their accomplishments and heavily admonish cheaters. People who abuse exploits are just toxic, plain and simple.
If you don't care about losing, then you should have no problem with tryhards who try to make you lose. Problem solved.

Yes, yes it is.
Ill explain, the point is that a "try hard" for me, is the definition of someone who does not play for fun, they play to....what their interpretation is of winning (jeez im going to pretty much repeat myself now verbatim)
They give themselves every advantage possible to do so.
Its like taking candy from a baby, i personally see no value in such a "victory"
they might as well cheat as that makes it even easier/guaranteed to achieve this goal.
I never said that using every single advantage in the game is the same as cheating, im talking about the mindset of these players.
So yeah, reading comprehension issues and probably a little person offense because you use every advantage as well? or am I assuming too much here?
Yes, people play to win in a competitive setting. That's normal, not something to be reprimanded. However, people who play to win do so within the confines of the game, they don't use cheats. Cheaters have a completely different mindset.
And yes, you are assuming too much. I just know that playing competitively in a competitive setting is not bad, it's literally the purpose of a competitive setting.
If you're a true casual player - someone who doesn't necessarily play to win - then you shouldn't care about losing.

"We dont want confusion" - Thats not true at all, gamers are some of the most stat/percentage friendly people on the planet. People in chat be like 4.6 meters x 2.4 second vault = 16 seconds of 4.4 meter speed with 3.8 seconds of haste and 2.6 seconds Undetectable status. Or when my mage casts his spell at 2.5 seconds, and the fireball charge is 1 second, my shield stats go up by 3% and stamina and mana both decrease by 3.5 %
If devs really said that they must think their customers are dumb as rocks because its insulting tbh.

Yes, you did, by saying that victories achieved by legit gameplay are comparable to victories achieved by cheating, in that they have, quote, "no meaning/value".
So no, reading comprehension is not the issue here.

It means you arnt playing for fun or basically talking it way too seriously.
Survivors bringing the meta for example are pretty try hard, they dont play for fun, they play to "win" or atleast their version of winning, giving themselves every single advantage they can to achieve this goal.
Same goes for killers with Ebony mori and the strongest addons etc.
Its like taking candy from a baby, what did you achieve here if you make it yourself so easy?
Might as well start running cheats, you will def win that way, it just has no meaning/value.

I personally didnt play it, but its a interessting concept and the plot that has to be puzzled together and leaves huge room for interpretation is something i like in every franchise that has it.
But as a new killer in dbd i have other more urgent wishes, but i just hate that "its for kids" argument. Its such a childish point of view.
- Good concept? Sure, I guess. Already done to death (and better) by others? Definitely.
- For kids? Maybe not, but most fans I've seen are children. However, I'm willing to chalk this up to a vocal minority.
"Room for interpretation" is, IMO, synonymous with lazy writing. It's a way to pretend your writing is clever because it raises a bunch of supposedly interesting questions when you know damn well you have no answers and gave it no thought whatsoever. It's a good way to create a "hardcore" fanbase by making people endlessly debate which of their headcanons is best, but it's not compelling writing (again, IMO) if you take a step back and realize that there are no answers.
