Glad to see a roadmap, although unfortunately as a community we’ve been burned so many times in recent history that I’m going to have to wait and see actual results before I take get my hopes up.
The transparency is very much appreciated though.
-
The detonation delay (if that’s the right term) is the only thing I have a particular problem with. Clown is never really going to be a killer I enjoy as either role, but he at least had some skill expression when you had to correctly time the yellow bottles.
Keep some of the minor buffs he got recently but revert that change ASAP.
-
How could anyone forget that stream 😭😭
Watching the match go so wrong was both awkward and hilarious.

They might be rage baiting to get Killer to tunnel them harder. Kinda like bagging to initiate chase.
If that’s what they’re doing then kudos to them for the ingenuity. Very creative strategy.
I’m not the kind to tunnel over that, but I can see it working on a lot of killers.

If they're console they have to pay to change their names but otherwise idk
Ahh I never knew that. That could explain some of it. Kind of wild that you get charged for something as standard as changing a name. Console companies are kind of greedy for that.

Obviously I've had to scribble out the start of the names, but you can see they both end in a variation of TTV but neither of these are real Twitch profiles. It's so bizarre lol. It must be an inside joke or something haha
And another lol.
Just leads to a blank Twitch profile that has never streamed.
I've seen so many lately it's almost conspiratorial lmao.

Love to see Onryo so high :)

Franklin's is annoying but hardly overpowered by any means. The nerf really wasn't necessary from a balance standpoint.
I have a feeling they changed it for technical reasons. The reworked keys and maps don't use the standard charge system Franklin's is designed to work with, and I'm guessing they thought it'd be easier to just remove the charge depletion aspect of the perk than recode it to function with new keys and maps.
Whatever the reason was though, it was a bad change. They should revert it or give Franklin's some other kind of secondary effect.
-
No offence but this is one of the worst changes they could possibly implement. This would be an instant loss for solo queue and do nothing for SWFs.

If you focus all your efforts solely on churning out content continuously, signing agreements to bring in licences, releasing tons of outfits every week, implying that your only goal is to milk as much money as possible by prioritising the health of your product and neglecting the main aspects of the game, sooner or later you'll hit a wall.
The fact that this game has no decent competitor in its genre is paradoxically a problem, because it allows them to delay or even ignore a whole series of issues, since people will always come back to play DBD because there is no alternative.

Yep. Lack of viable competition is this game's biggest problem. All other games in the genre either die out due to their own issues, or are far too small to ever pose any real threat to DbD and because of that BHVR have grown complacent. They know they can get away with putting out buggy, unfinished content, ignoring community concerns, and treating their biggest content creators poorly because there's no other game for players to turn to.
If you want to play an asymmetric horror, DbD is your most viable, and oftentimes only, option. So no matter how bad things get, players stick around because where else are you gonna be able to scratch that itch?
It's so frustrating because we know BHVR and DbD can deliver amazing content, they've done it many times before, but they've had a pretty severe string of flops lately and I can't help but think most of it was entirely avoidable, they just didn't care enough to try.

Doctors, one enhances stuff the other one is everything at once
I second this. Doctor’s Iridescents are very passive. You don’t have to go out of your way to use them, you can just play how you normally would and they’ll do their thing.
-
Oh dear that doesn’t sound good at all. I only caught the first couple of minutes of it, but sounds like I didn’t really miss anything.
-
Haven’t noticed anything myself in the couple of game I played him, although it’s very possible he is bugged. The last big update broke a LOT of killers powers.

I agree 100%. That's honestly exactly how it feels too. Something aint adding up….
It’s a problem in the reverse too. Sometimes the tentacle visibly misses but the hit still goes through, leading to the survivor feeling like they’ve been cheated of a health state. It’s just messy all around tbh.
Other than that, I actually quite enjoy Nemesis but I do wish they’d give him some touch ups.
-
Not familiar with Dead Island personally, but I like the idea of such a killer.
-
I hate how Nemesis’ tentacle whip animation is designed. It doesn’t match how the attack actually functions whatsoever leading to these awkward scenarios where the tentacle visibly hits but the “behind-the-scenes” mechanics of his power don’t.
They should honestly redesign his animation to more accurately reflect how the power functions.

The amount of times I've gone to command search a gen only for it to quickly snap off as I click search for Snug to search only 10 metres in front of me… yeah I had to reduce how much I was playing HM too.
Also, I played her on Midwich the other day and Snug's pathfinding was bugged, he was stuck in a corner, and I had no power for at least 4 whole minutes in game. Very cool.
Yep. Completely relate to the broken path finding thing. Snug loves to take outrageously long or convoluted routes, as well as get stuck (especially where elevations are involved).
I really, really want to love HM but she’s just too broken for me. Shame because I love the pirate concept :(
-
i stopped playing her to be honest. The core ideas of her kit are really fun and I was going to put her into the rotation of killers I play regularly, but her bugs and QoL issues are too frustrating. The fact that the search command still doesn't properly snap onto generators drives me up the wall.
-
Not a bug, these gens were just blocked by a perk at the time the invocation was completed.
-
There's also a really annoying tendency for this game to cancel your current pallet drop. I'll see the prompt to drop, press it, my survivor will snap into the pallet dropping animation, and then… nothing. The pallet drop gets aborted, I get displaced by a couple of feet from the pallet and then the killer gets the hit.
-
Immediately upvoted.
These perks are a scourge on the Bloodweb. There's not a single one of them worth running and they just keep on making them.
-
Kind of confused why a Pig nerf would even be on the table. She’s fine.
-
Very much agree with Onryō’s placement. Aesthetically, they truly did an incredible job adapting her over from the movie. Thematically, the chapter was just on point. The sounds, visuals, animations — perfect.
In terms of power, they did an admirable job too. Adapting a 7-day curse to a video game that lasts only ~10 minutes per match and whose gameplay is more slasher-focused (which Ring is not) was no easy feat. The balance has been off over the years (too weak then too strong then too weak) but the core concepts are all great.
-
This is why I don’t really bother with Steam discussions. It’s not even a DbD-exclusive thing imho. Pretty much every Steam community I’ve ever been in has been over moderated. I saw someone get banned for saying “lol” one time in a different community.
-
I’m not even particularly a Walking Dead fan and I’m offended on behalf of y’all. This map is just terrible. Other than ONE unique tile, there’s nothing about it that’s remotely Walking Dead. It’s incredibly generic and the green filter is nauseating.
-
It should be kill switched for sure but it probably won't be.
-
I've found a bunch in chests so far. Sounds like bad luck.

Flashbangs had a hitbox large enough that they would blind killers looking straight up at the sky, or when going off behind the killer, or when they were facing a wall. Furthermore, there was an exploit that let survs put them right inside a killer's during an animation, which made them impossible to avoid. These two things were fixed.
Flashbangs are still useful, you just need to make sure they go off directly in the killer's line of sight.
I’m not trying to do any of the things you mentioned though. I’m dropping them right in front of killers who are breaking pallets so it’s definitely in LoS.
I’m almost certain they did more than just fix the things you mentioned. -

"We ended up running into each other and I died"
I was watching a streamer last night who was running the killer just fine (albeit injured and on death hook) until a team mate dropped a vial in the tile. The team mate and streamer ran into each other and neither could pass in the space so the killer just came and downed and killed them both lmao
Lmao glad it’s not just me 🤣
-
DbD’s poor performance is so frustrating because every patch it gets worse but the game doesn’t look or feel any better. So I have to ask, what on earth is eating up all my resources?
For how poor the graphics are in this game, there’s NO reason it should be so hard to run.

From a solo q survivor perspective, I’ve been completely messing up a lot of chases, when I use the item altruistically while the killer is trying to chase someone else, even without the iri addon.
As in I’ll ambush the killer with the fog vial, then hang out near a line of sight breaker. The killer can’t tell I’m a different survivor because of the fog, and will run after me instead.
It’s basically like aggressively bodyblocking the killer, except that I’m not actually bodyblocking the killer, so I’m at full health when the killer switches to chasing me.
I think the reason why there are so many different opinions on the fog vials, is because some people don’t know how to use them, and will just drop a fog vial when the killer is closely chasing them. The fog vials really work best when the are used altruistically, or when the killer doesn’t know the exact location of the survivor.
Glad you've gotten use out of them.
Had someone try and do this for my chase and we ended up running into each other and I died :/
It's fine if I see them run over and know they're planning to jump in for me because I can prepare for potentially losing LOS. But unexpectedly having fog dropped on me has proved more of a hindrance than helpful so far.
Also had a teammate drop fog before healing me and it basically was just a big beacon on the map for the killer saying "They're over here." and he came over and interrupted us before she could get the heal done.
Maybe it's a skill issue on behalf of me or my teammates, but I'm yet to see a situation where a standard bodyblock or something wouldn't have just been an easier option.
-
The voice lines themselves are fine but the screams, breathing, grunting etc. sounds weird. Especially Michonne's.
-
Yep :/
A few updates back I could hit a steady 100 on most maps.
Then I started having to cap at 60 because the game became too choppy and now with this latest update I have HORRIBLE framerates for the first ~30 seconds of the match. No idea what they've done but it's terrible.
-
The TAA in this game is horrible. Probably the worst I've ever seen in a game.
Having it on makes the game look very blurry and muddy, and turning it off has everything super jagged and makes all the modern hairs translucent. It's a lose-lose situation.

I can make make sure that this is passed along to the team. Would it be possible to get a little more information about the matches in which you received "go next" warnings so we can better look into this?
Specifically, could you describe how the match went, approximately how long into the match were you tunneled, and whether any hook states were spread to other players during the period you were tunneled? Were you hooked first and then tunneled out before anyone else received hook states? With information like this, we can better understand what might be happening here.An automated system is never going to be able to accurately determine whether a player's intention was to "go next" or whether it was a genuine mistake or something out of their control (e.g. tunnelling). This system needs to be scrapped entirely. It's punishing way too many innocent players.
-
Yeah it's getting boring now.
-
Not in solo queue. SWF is fine, but solo against a good Singularity is a disaster.
-
I play way less killer these days due to the long queue times. I can get survivor matches within 10 seconds but killer can take 5-10 minutes depending on the time of day. Not really worth it atm.

For the cosmetic contest? Sadly, no. It's only available for DbD's original characters. I'd love for Onryo to get some more outfits tho <3

Dedicated Server issues shouldn’t be giving you a DC penalty.
I’ve yet to experience this on my end and I play a lot of DBD. What region are you in?
This happens to me from time to time.
You get an error message and then hit with a DC penalty even though it wasn't your fault.
-
This is so good

@VibranToucan said:
The issue with that would be that SFWs could get free disconnects by just managing who DCs first.
Simple fix — disable the feature for those in a group.

Honestly, it's mainly survivor perks. Killer perks are usually - hit a survivor, kick a gen, hook a survivor on a special glowy hook. Like, yeah - I was kind of planning on that anyway.
Survivor perks involve some convoluted mini rift-quest activity to activate.
This is a good point actually. It does seem that survivors are kind of getting the short end of the stick with perk design lately.
-
None of these perks are going to see any use. Just trying to read and understand them was a chore.
Why are modern DbD perks always like “Rummage through two chests then bless a totem and then when the killer is within 24 metres scream and reveal your aura and your teammates nearby have their scratch marks hidden.”
Like obviously I’m being hyperbolic but it’s all so convoluted and hard to use for such a mediocre benefit.

The Tombstone add-ons are from an era where DbD was very different and balance was not really a thing. It's pretty obvious that they no longer fit in the modern game.
It's downright unfair that Shape can 99% his power on another survivor, and then YOU end up getting completely removed from the game at 4 gens for it. No other killer can punish you to that big of an extent for a teammate's error. And with matchmaking and solo queue being so uncoordinated, it's just doubly ridiculous.
The add-ons need a rework. Either make it a basekit ability for death hook survivors or make it so he can only kill the survivor who gave him the most stalk.

I really want to know what the reasoning is for this game refusing to have a functional MMR system. I was watching Hens yesterday and he started to openly mock a viewer for suggesting that "high brackets" exist in this game. Even the content creators who are advising the devs realize it's a joke. Not only realizing it but openly acknowledging it on stream. Who is this system for anyway?
Who is this system for anyway?
No idea. Pretty much everyone (at least everyone I've seen) has hated the system since it came out. Why they've kept it, and in such a nonfunctional state no less, is beyond me.
