I'm torn on this one. On the one hand I know some were abusing the knowledge and whatnot. On the other hand, they made the cage move if he's camping it and now you can't prevent a save via bodyblocking regardless. Seems like three changes when the latter two would have sufficed.

I'm not bemoaning the loss of his tunnel playstyle, as I didn't use it as him myself, but it's an objective loss of critical information...now he's the only one of 20 killers who can not know where his pressure is on the map until the pressure is removed (since they did add a noise notification for an uncage.) That's not a small nerf.

Just the second change is enough to prevent camping IMO. And if they want, make him unable to see the respawned cage. That's the only way to correctly prevent the tunnelling.

But right now? It's free uncaging for survivors.

  • @caz_ said:

Well.. thats the fault of toxic killer i guess you need to appreciate their toxic plays.

i mean you could literally stay infront of the cage and survivors couldnt attempt a rescue because you can just rescue them from one side.

There is another change. If you stays too close to the cage as killer for some time, the cage respawn somewhere else.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/167722/so-uncaging-is-100-risk-free-now

    This is a fair change.

As far as endgame goes, if they’re tormented but not on death hook, too bad. It’s as unfortunate as getting to endgame and everyone still has their DS.

Cage auras created the same disaster as OG Legion: almost nobody was using the power as intended.

PH is meant to be a time saving killer where hopefully for every down achieved PH can quickly resume gen pressure and initiate fresh chases with a new survivor ASAP without the need to resort to slugging or giving up sacrifice progress.

Instead many players used PH to be a complete and total jerk. I’ve been an advocate from the beginning of the chapter of either removing PH ability to see cage auras, or hooking removing Torment.

This is a very healthy change. Glad the devs saw reason.

Then they should make it easier for survivors to get tormented. Then i could really save some time.

But currently? You can waste more time making survivors tormented than hooking them normally.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Risk/Reward like most other powers. It's up to you in the moment to determine that balance and whether you're better off Hooking or Caging in that particular moment.

Caging in the old state had mostly reward, minimal risk. This balances that equation out a bit more and forces you to think a little more tactically about your decision.

But it's fair now that survivors get free uncage? Where is the risk/reward for this? Should it be 100% risk-free just because PH want to save few seconds for not hooking them normally?

  • @Kaethela said:

You still get to completely ignore BT and DS by caging. That's not nothing.

Yes, by caging, you ignore DS and BT, but so as Pop and BBQ.

Killer also loss some perks in case you forgot

  • Nope. Before this, i can cage survivors if they are downed near the exit gate. But now, if you hook, DS and BT. If you cage, you have no way to defend the cage.

How is it a nerf? Unless you camp the cages it shouldn’t affect you at all.

It's a free escape in EGC, of course it affects.

Since the Jake face is tricky to get as he is the least common of the four survivors, I recommend when playing any other killer, look out for more than one Jake in a lobby and then switch to Leatherface.

And bring a mori and tunnel the ######### out of him :)

    Just a joke

It's not a stupid question. It isn't stated in game anywhere at all.

For each mask you have to kill the respective survivor 25 times. It's harder than it used to be as more people are playing the newer fresher survivors so it might take a while.

Do i have to kill them by playing as leatherface, or any killer can?

With his new bugs and really bad FOV, I see Billies miss more chainsaws than ever, and we've had to put up with these bugs for, what, 3 months now? Even with that, playing as addonless Billy can be pretty difficult because he's not amazing without add-ons unless you have something else that can help you. Using engravings and charge add-ons turns him into a completely different killer. Curving without add-ons is really hard to do well so don't worry if you're not able to get it consistently, it can take a lot of practice, and sometimes just plain luck that the survivor is in the right place.

I use shadowborn to compensate for his FoV. But still, i'll not play him until they fix the bugs, just like nurse

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

A tutorial for killer game sense would make it better. Cause thats what 90% of killers dont have.

Sorry, 100 % of the playerbase does not have a good and informative tutorial. Unless we're playing different game?

  • How about taking a break until they fix the matchmaking? Man, i think you really should listen to your doctor, since your health is more important than anything else..

  • I don't play much survivors too. However, i hate my teammates more than the killer. I legit have people let me die on first hook with kindred on

  • BBQ: For BP

Discordance: Guarantees you 2 injure at least.

Monitor and Abuse: Let you be closer to survivors, healthy or injured.

    Random 4th perk you like.

    This build works every time.

  • I myself also have 500++ playtime last time i checked. I can tell you it's normal to struggle a bit at purple rank, since you'll be matched with red ranks every time.

However, once you get into rank 1, you can't really drop down your ranks anymore. This is my personal experience.

Also, you can definitely get to rank 1 with those killers. I got to rank 1 with doctor and legion without add-ons and pop to help me. I still play add-onless today, and i never dropped below rank 2.

  • @Saitamfed said:

At first I agreed with you, but seeing the perk in action. If the generator aura is not highlighted you have no way to know if he's using said perk or perhaps he's using a hack to hide his TR or if simply it's a bug.

I would agree that the Undetectable status effect should last for 20 seconds or so. At the moment it works perfectly on indoor maps. Since they are small you can travel a long distance in 15 seconds.

You can see killer's perk in score screen. So if you don't see the perk there, it means cheating or bug.

  • Yes. That gen aura needs to go. It removes the entire purpose of this perk.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yeah, he seems to be a failed design. If a Pyramid Head does not tunnel, it is fine, but it is so easy to tunnel with him. This "The Cage spawns far away" does not matter at all, if you go down in the Center of the Map, the Cage is not far away. And as long as there is no Survivor next to the Cage, Pyramid Head should make it.

In general, it is quite strange that a lot of Perks dont work with the Cages. Like, surely this goes for every Killer that some Perks dont work with them, but not so many.

Also I think his Ranged Attack is as flawed as it can be. The counterplay is not really there, because he has no delay when faking his power. So when vaulting a Window or dropping a Pallet, he can use his Ranged Attack, and if the Survivor fakes it, he can use his M1. Thats...eh. And because his Power is also telegraphed AND has a long-ass cooldown after using it, faking is better than actually using it.

And I think this should never be the case with a Killer Power. Like, Freddy can fake his Teleport, but it is also insanely beneficial when he just uses it. Not so much with Pyramid Head.

And when it comes to BPs and Cages - I dont know how they though that instead of 1000/1500 Altruism Points, 550 Boldness would be a thing. Not only is it a third of a safe Unhook, but it is also Boldness. Which is the easiest Category to fill up. I opened a Thread about it in the Feedback Section, because it should be the same as for Unhooks, and someone wrote that it is most likely less because it is (or better: should) be safer to rescue from a Cage than from a Hook. While I can agree to that, there is no reason why I should be Boldness.

So yeah, I hope they will go over him again. I can see the potential that he can become a Killer where players might want to DC or kill themselves on the Hook, if they end up on a Hook being tormented, because this means that Pyramid Head will most likely have an easy time. And I would like to see this not happen, because in general I like his design. But it is really flawed.

To be honest, the only reason i'm playing as him is to counter DS (Mainly) and BT. I love to punish survivor's bold play where i normally can't with other killers.

Also, it feels great that most of the survivors will play much safer when facing him than with other killers because they know he can punish them. (No more save in front of me, etc.)

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

If the survivor avoids it, then the killer doesn't know how to use it. Stab the ground when they're going for the pallet or the vault. If they take it, then punishment of the damned. If they don't, then cancel and m1. Either way, you get the hit. The ranged attack is primarily a zoning tool.

He's talking about the attack itself. Sure, his range attack is good when survivors are in animation lock, but when you're trying to hit them across the wall or tile, they can dodge it easily

  • Killer: Bubba, Clown and Demo

Survivor: Basically every DLC survivors except licensed one.

  • Yes, the best decision would be camping. However, i'm dumb that i usually leave them to chase other survivors...

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Without a Totem Counter (or in a 4 man SWF), it makes no sense to cleanse Totems. As long as not all Totems are cleansed, the time spent on a Totem is wasted. 100% wasted. Yeah, Emblem Points, yeah Bloodpoints... The Emblem Points are not significant and the BPs are in a Category which is the easiest to fill.

In fact, cleansing Dull Totems without a Counter or when Solo is actually hurting the team - no Progression in the Objective and if the easy to spot Totems are gone, NOED will become the most hidden Totem on the Map.

Let alone that NOED is basically a guaranteed second Kill against a camping Killer, because 2 minutes on a Hook are not enough time to do 5 Gens and 5 Totems.

If everyone has this mentality, then don't blame killer for using NOED to kill you.

However, a totem counter can still be a nice addition.

I've noticed even on the ptb Pyramid Head was extremely difficult to rank up with simply because of his scoring events just like Plague. I just played a game all gens got done in 3 minutes while i was constantly hooking and downing people. At the end i got 3 kills and i didn't even black pip? Would the devs mind explaining why Pyramid Head and Plague are so bad with getting pips even if u play well? Also if anyone is gonna ask, i had around 21,500 points at the end.

Don't use his mori if it's not absolutely necessary. It hurts the emblem if i'm not wrong

If a killer stands on the hatch you cannot jump into it but if a survivor stands on the hatch a killer can close it? That makes no sense at all. Why do killers get no collision for closing it but they have collision when against survivors?

Twice i can't close the hatch and watch them to escape, and i'm spamming the spacebar. The option doesn't come out

How much BP would you like to get?

Give us 1 mil one-time bonus. I would probably earn more if the offering isn't bugged, but oh well, i only ask for 1 mil :)

I completely ignore the existence of DS and just do my best to kill survivors as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, I've started to actively go out of my way to never hook the same survivor twice in a row if no DS is present. I consider it incentive for survivors to stop using DS.

Wow that's honourable action. I guess i'll do the same when i have the chance..

But i think i already been doing the same thing as well, because i only go for unhooker, and usually the moment i meet the unhooked survivor, i already hooked other survivors miles away.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I get dsed, but not very often. I've been playing the game since 2017. Usually I like to slug people I know have been unhooked (unless they play the same character, then idk lol). It's possible to apply pressure and not hook people.

Guess I'm not veteran enough though.

Then you're luckier than me :)

I got DSed far frequent when playing as Oni lol.. Downed people so fast that i got confused and get DS for tunnelling.

It isn't about him being viable but rather he has the potential to be good with a certain set up. But still, why shouldn't you use these Perks if you have them if they make him good?

I don't really like the fact " xxx killer can only be decent when using certain perks"

I don't like being fixed and tied to some perks when playing as certain killer.. I want to change up my builds so i don't get bored of single strategy every game.

Bubba in this case is tied with nemesis and PWYF. So you only left 2 slots for perk choice. That's what i don't like. It limits my character's build. But if i opened those 2 slots up, he's not viable and i can't do anything against decent survivors.

Can't slug in lockers? Why are you chasing THAT one survivor?

There are 4 survivor in the map, why are you targetting this ONE individual?

It honestly boggles my mind the reasons some killers come up with.

"They have God Mode, they're hacking, they have Unbreakable, they have this and that, they hacked old insta-heals, they're a SWF, they're stream sniping me, they're Karens, they're blah blah blah."

If you get DS'ed, sorry...but you only have yourself to blame.

    And I'M a killer main.

You completely ignored what i wrote to you before writing this commend..

I'm curious, what will you do in this scenario?

Recently unhooked survivor doing gens in front of you, and you don't see any other survivors around. And as soon as you walk towards him, he jumps into locker just beside him. Will you leave him to do 60 secs worth progress on that gen, and potentially lose the game?

Also, we trade our opinions here, not telling you to be rude to any person who does not agree with what you believe

  • @MrDardon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1391510#Comment_1391510

Why wouldn't you use Perks which are good on a Killer if you have them? Good Players would usually have all Perks unlocked.

What i mean is, he is, as people claim, the worst killer without this combo.

Pig also has a good perk combo, monitor and whisper. But pig can live without it. However, that's not the case for bubba. The "brute force" strategy won't work if you don't use nemesis and PWYF.

IMO the killer is not truly viable if he needs certain things that cannot be changed. Trapper with no additional trap add-ons is also under this.

  • @oxygen said:

I'd assume what most people mean when they say that is that they won't go out of their way to use it, like run to the killer while they're busy with someone else and jump in a locker in their view, rush saves with DS active or something like that. Doesn't mean they might not accidentally run into the killer or otherwise get to use it without being tunneled.

Unless someone is saving it for some reason (which can certainly work out at times) I'd imagine that if the skillcheck appears on their screen, they'll go for it.

So i guess those people who claim to use it for just anti-tunnel are actually the very same people that want 2nd chance.

So, i think "Use for anti-tunnel" is just an excuse that's too perfect, as it hides their true nature of wanting a 2nd chance and at the same time also blames the killer

No killers are strong without builds (besides nurse, hag and spirit). Also, you don't need to use ruin and surveillance on that build.

Oh, i'm not referring the ruin and surveillance. I'm referring the nemesis and PWYF. This combo is the true engine.

Sure, every killer has a optimal build to make them optimal, but when a killer is only viable when using optimal build, it's not truly viable.

For example, if survivors can only win by bringing all meta perks, certain items and certain add-ons, then it's not viable. But in reality, that's not the case, because you can win without anything.

  • @Jasuo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1391562#Comment_1391562

I'm assuming these are the stats you're referring to

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/73D4PNZ3WW6Q/maps.png

Okay, it has a 56% kill rate, roughly meaning that usually killers get a 2K or a 3K on this map. You know what else is interesting? The most played/strongest killers during the 3 month window these stats were pulled were Spirit and Freddy. You know, the killers that have insane chase AND gen pressure.

Those statistics cannot be referred for balance because it includes all players, from rank 1 to rank 20. For example, you can 4k with any killer in any map in low rank, skewing the data.

  • He only uses one single build to prove they're viable in those videos. IMO the killer is not truly viable if you can only succeed with only one build.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Infantry belt is A problem when it comes to Iri heads, but it's not THE problem.

If the devs want to keep Belt and Iri head working together, then they need to add a minimum effective range, so you aren't running around with basically Exposed all game. We already have Hillbilly and Bubba for that.

That's what i don't like. Deathslinger's ultra rare add-on is useless for this reason. If they make it like 32 m away then it's basically useless, and we don't want another useless ultra rare add-ons.

Just make it limit to 1 hatchet. Easy fix, and still viable.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1391575#Comment_1391575

You can touch them. You can slug them. This "invincibility" claim comes from killers who tunnel and then proceed to complain about getting hit with DS.

I don't go out of my way to use it, it just gives me security in case the killer feels lazy and does want to dart towards ME instead of the survivor looping them. I don't save it though, I haven't thought about it, I don't like gambling like that. Might as well use it than be the last survivor unable to use it.

The fact is those who really want to tunnel you will not be hit by DS. They're smart enough to know you have DS, so they'll just slug and wait until your DS deactivate, or wait by locker.

For invincibility, you can't slug them if they pair it with unbreakable, or they just jump in locker or anything that forces the grab, or in EGC. This is where the invincibility comes from.

So, those who don't really tunnel are the actual main victim of this perk. I got DSed far more times than actual tunnelling, if you believe it.

I might be tooting my own horn here but....Huntress is one of those killers that you don't need addons to win.

Maybe some recovery? An extra hatchet....maybe? But...you don't NEED them.

I'm just staying, as a Huntress main.

IMO you can win without add-ons with any killers (Except trapper, 1 trap is definitely not enough). I got to rank 1 by playing as every killers i own without any add-on.

Sure, sometimes i get absolutely demolished especially streamers SWF, but i don't think i can do anything about that except maybe bring a red mori.

  • @MrDardon said:

Tru3talent recently made videos on how Bubba is underrated and now people of course are saying the same because their favourite streamer said so, so now everyone puts Bubba on higher Tier without any clue how to play him probably.

I tried "his" playstyle as well and of course it works. Brute forcing pallets with Nemesis and Play with your Food. He isn't the first one who plays like this. But people are thinking he created this playstyle and now they say that Bubba is good.

He never was bad, rather falsely played.

What if you don't use nemesis and PWYF combo? I doubt you'll say he's good without this combo, which is introduced half year ago together with Oni.

  • Legion is only good if survivors are stupid. For example, grouping up, self-care in corner, hiding around corner when i can see them through killer instinct, etc. (This is common even in red rank)

Versus experienced survivors? You may as well drop his power completely and play like m1 killer

I don't really remember what happened in the Billy game but considering their ranks, even if I was to plant my ass down and camp one of them, they shouldn't lose to a fresh out the boat Billy in that way as a rank 1 and 2 x rank4s. How did those ppl get to those ranks in the first place and why was I put in a game with them to begin with? same thing as I said in the op only in the 2nd case, it was in reverse.

Same as always, holding M1 while their more experienced friends taunt the killer

Do you really think im going to win using a camping build?

Do you really think im going to pip if I use a mori?

Do you really think im going to win by tunneling against smart survivors?

Did you quote the wrong comment?

In case you didn't, let me tell you. I'm killer that plays fairly, meaning no camping and tunnelling. I aim to get 12 hooks every game. However, sometimes camping and tunnelling is not camping and tunnelling.

For instance, some survivors jump on a gen right after being unhooked. You can't blame me for smacking, slugging or hooking you again because i can't just stand there watching you doing your objective. IMO these instance are extremely fair to both side. You decide to be greedy, so you can't blame me for it. But usually survivors can get away from their greed because of 2nd chance perks... what can i do..?

So answer my question because I've asked it about 5 to 10 times and no one has replied to me.

What happens if I cage someone from the middle of the map?

Let me give you an example.

    https://youtu.be/8CEfXJSDpww

This is me. I've been playing non-stop Pyramid Head and I made this video to make a point.

Put yourself in the shoes of this survivor and ask yourself.

How is this fair? No BT, No DS, No Second Wind. I'M okay with my Pop not working because I CHOSE to send her to a cage.

But ask yourself. And it's VERY easy to cage survivors from the middle of the map, I've done it several times. I pick them up and drop them off in the middle and proceed to go to the cage and set traps.

Personally, as a killer main. This is extremely unfair.

Then what's the difference between what you do and a camping with leatherface, or any other killers? Only no DS and BT, and they aren't stopping killer to camp or tunnel. If the killer decides to camp, he will, no matter who he's playing, and what perks survivors have.

So, the same counterplay to camping can be applied again. Others are gonna rush the gens and get out, making the killer depip, and you'll most likely never see him again if the matchmaking is working as intended.

If PH can't see the cage, it'll be unfair to killer, especially in EGC where he can't even secure a kill.

That's just luck, they know DS is strong and they dont put in the shrine that often...

Just look at calm spirit, it is always in the shrine

I agree shrine is rigged. It's always perks from the initial survivors when you bought the game..

I already told that as a Trapper Main i dont have any issues at all against red ranks. Those 10% games i do not get a 3/4k are totally fine for me. It is not that hard, if even some part-time killer like me can get to rank 1 by just playing a few games each season.

Then why don't ask for more? Play perkless and add-onless trapper since you're so good in this game. Or go even further, leatherface. And remember your rules.

Even Otzdarva, a full time trapper main, need to sweat in some games. If you're killer that's even better, why don't make a living out of it by streaming? It's a good fortune :)

Edit: Oh i forgot you complained about slugging as well! Why don't you stream and make the title "best killer in the world, 3/4k 90% of the time, while following survivor rule books, and no slugging at all!"

Please, re-read what I've stated before putting words in my mouth.

That's clearly, so obviously not what I stated.

If PH can't see the cage, what's stopping you for getting the uncage? It'll be basically risk free. Not to mention the cage usually spawns close to survivors already.

Imagine if you as PH cage someone in EGC. What are you going to do as killer? Do nothing besides not caging them? Or hook them and they just DS Borrow and get away?

Sure you're fine with PH counters certain perks you don't use (non-meta perks), just like how trappers are okay with slippery meat or small games, or doctors okay with calm spirit, because chance of meeting them are as well non-exist.

1 … 18 19 20 21 22 … 41
