I did started over, with around 2k hours on ps4 I moved to pc about a month ago and don't regret it so far but yeah, go for bbq then corrupt and infectious, then pop if you have all dlcs
-
My only issue with that is, as a esl person I rarely talk english when playing, so it would be more annoying to people that don't know X language and vice versa, don't get me wrong I know english and can talk it kinda fluently but I think it would become more annoying to survivors.
Think of games like cod as well, has in game chat and trust me you will mute everyone in seconds, there is always the bad mic, the arguer, the salty tryhard, the sore loser, the party at home who blast music through the mic.
I don't think people would enjoy it.
You can always send invites to the survivors in game and hope they join.
-
Mods, let it happen, this is a Mature game, and honestly I want to see a dbd comic or something like that
-
Thank you everyone!!, I'm scared and I don't want to do it anymore (because I just bought all dlc again but now on pc) but hopefully this thread helps people that want to do it but are not informed like me!
-
It was worse before, all I can say is.... Enjoy those extra 303% bp, worry not, not all red ranks should be red ranks and that goes both ways, but you can clearly see that MM is kinda bad atm, just hope that the new mmr system will be good

In a regular game I agree. I think NOED is a waste of a perk slot. You really shouldn't get to the point where it would proc if you're playing well or not going against people who are amazing at the game and on comms. I just don't appreciate a perk being in the game that makes camping such a viable strat, man.
I get you, when I play as survivor I hate getting facecamped then someone coming to save me and noed pops, but it is what it is, I just wish some perks from both sides would get reworked/tweaked.
-
Yes, farming is bad, once I got a splinter into my hand with a shovel.
If you mean farming bloodpoints, I don't think so, just like everyone says if they don't want to farm, don't force it, if they do then roll with it.

Also, Otz wasn't camping. I was saying it was impossible to counter NOED in the 2 minute time frame of your friend dying on first hook.
On that it really does depend on luck, nothing I can say will help me on that.

It's possible on coms, but most of the player base isn't a 4 man swf. If you do amazingly well and there's very little pause between totems and gens you can do it. You can't just balance the game around 4 man swfs playing amazingly tho, you know?
But you are just describing that gen rush is the best way to play this game (technically it is) but it's just like people say, just do bones or remember where totems are, if noed pops look at them, if it isn't then go to the next totem, rinse and repeat until noed is found, unless the killer forces you out, you really don't need to do all totems, you can just remember where they are and waste 14 seconds once instead of 70 seconds for all plus the time it takes you to get there.
-
@Kolonite said:

I don't use NOED for two reasons. It would rarely proc for me and because it's a crutch perk that rewards killers for not playing well. That's all it does. You can't expect survivors to do 5 gens and all the bones within the time it takes for one person to die on hook. There's just not the time for it. Survivor takes 2 minutes to die on hook. Takes 80 seconds if everyone does a gen and it takes 14 seconds per totem plus the time to find all the totems. No good killer uses NOED because NOED will only help killers who aren't playing well.
Look at those survivors on coms, they just did everything you said it is impossible to do.
Btw I don't use noed as well but just sharing a vid that shows that it is possible and against a really good killer and a great player

Flashlights as an item are very controversial..against hag their extremely overpowered, plus killers can be blinded without ever seeing the light in their fov..making this item stronger or even giving it more utility is very dangerous

Flashlight are in a good spot. Just because they exist it doesn't mean it should be a save every time killer picks up a survivor. And they are effective if you use perks like iron will, quick and quiet, dance with me, lucky break etc
Check how old this thread is

Exactly, thank you, I totally agree. These kids today don't understand that Pyramid Head is Iconic in the world of Horror. I believe Silent Hill 2 is 25 years this year? Don't quote on that but I played it on the PS2 WAYYYY BACK in the day. lol I liked the Silent Hill film I thought the guy who played Pyramid Head did a great job.
Dude you just made me had a heart attack by saying SH 2 is 25 years old, I was like damn I'm not that old, Silent hill 2 came out in 2001 and has been iconic ever since.
To the OP, yeah some people don't know why BHVR brought PH but the real question is "what took them so long?" Silent hill is an amazing series and imo BHVR did amazing in being able to get the license for it, I'd give them props if anything.

Nice, see you guys tomorrow when people post the same thing on another thread as "why Freddy deserves a nerf"

Not just McMillan. They vanish on swamp and Yamaoka, too.
Forgot those maps but yeah you get my point lol
-
My issue with Claudette is that she is nearly invisible on most mcmillian maps, and most abuse that with perks like iron will and stuff that helps them blend more.
I rarely tunnel a Claudette but I've seen killers actually bringing a mori and just mori the Claudette.

Hide within 10 meters of the Killer for 60 seconds as Dwight in a single game.
Doesn't sound that hard but I could be wrong, do you have to escape as well?

Now i had flash backs of ptb Ghostface. A killer who is meant to be sneaky, can be counter by any detection perk like object, spinning your camera around like a mad man. Barely looking at him. Being on the same map as ghostface or simply following him around. Yes a true "stealth killer" he was. Stalk that would fade away over time, short as heck expose time. That nerf to object was needed. For it like, what the point of a stealth killer, if you can get pin point information on where they are, any time you please?
I didn't tried him on the ptb but saw vids about it, those were harsh times lol
-
Can someone fill me up with that challenge? Been seeing people complaining about that challenge, I haven't done it, I'm just playing killer atm
-
Bad timing sounds like the problem, for pallet saves, it's when the killer is able to move, for flashlight saves is when they are almost on their shoulder that is when you start blinding not when they are barely picking the survivor up
-
Personally I hate OoO especially when I feel like playing trapper or before the nerf when I used ghostface, if you are playing solo then I think it's fine but if you are 4 man then I consider it toxic because the killer will have no counter other than tunnel you or camp you to death, you can also ignore the OoO but it gets on my nerves when I see the survivor just doing gens far away and looking at me.

Yeah i seen the classic camper for guarding the gens once while playing on the pc myself. Funny enough, every other group after that. Seem to understand, a killer is meant to keep them from doing the gens.
Good to know people do understand that, some people don't know that a killer is supposed to patrol gens and if nothing is happening a killer can check on the hook and leave.
-
@alaenyia said:
This was SUPER tame. If this is the worst salt you get you must play fairly decent. Or maybe PC is just a way bigger dumpster fire than console.
This is still very tame, not close to the real console experience, so far with my pc experience I have never gotten actual hate, just the classic "camper" when all gens are done and I have nowhere to go even though I saw 3 survivors near the hook.
Console takes a big chunk of the cake if you ask me, this is nothing yet
-
Pop is fine, bbq is fine, wanting to nerf killer perks isn't fine, if bbq didn't existed you would see more campers since most people won't know where to go after the hook.
If pop got nerfed you will see more sluggers, which won't be fun for the survivors.
-
Learn from mistakes, you will never get better if you are changing how you play, learn survivor patterns as you play, always try finding the weakest player, it doesn't matter if the survivor is good or bad, pressure is pressure, get teachables and try new stuff, you will get better in time.
On the harsh part, don't play Deathslinger only, try using other killers until you find that killer you are good with.
-
With no gens done I don't think slugging is right unless it's oni and his power relies on slugging but you need to charge it first, but like I always say, slugging is high risk high reward meaning you can risk too much and do great or risk too much and lose because survivors punished you

Crossplay is coming, cross progression not yet, that is what the devs said meaning they have to talk with sony, nintendo etc in order to add crossprogression

A small rework is reasonable and I fully agree with that adept achievement, keys shouldn’t prevent them every time.
but only because you don’t use the unfair killer mechanics doesn’t mean they are more okay than keys. There are plenty of survivors not using keys, you will always run into some that do. Which is totally okay and valid.
I agree with both things you mentioned, I just want them both reworked, like maybe a certain amount of hooks not just 1 hook and next you are dead and for keys a timer to open the hatch or something like that.
-
Might not answer your question but I come from dark souls pvp (invasions and tourneys) I loved killing ganks when it seems unwinnable and win by a mistake it just feels great, same as in dbd, a perk coming in clutch like Stbfl on any M1 killer it just feels satisfying

Franklins doesnt even really counter keys. A survivor can just pick it back up when they need it. Its a mild inconvenience, not a counter.
True that it doesn't even counter it, just slows down the chance of usage.

I didn’t make a direct comparison between Moris and keys.
take Camping and tunneling: no need of an addon or offering and every killer can do that every match. And this is way more unfair than a key. But it is still considered a valid strategy by devs and thus get defended.
not everything needs to be fair. You had a good match, many hooks and a kill. 3 genning doesn’t mean you should get all kills. Chests don’t always contain keys. They were lucky (and had probably plunderers or were extremely lucky).
No plunders just luck, and while I probably didn't deserved to kill all I needed to because of my last adept.
I don't defend camping, I believe the only reason to camp is if all gens are done and you have nowhere to go, tunneling on the other hand I try not to unless OoO.
Both keys and moris should be reworked a little, both are unfair, keys have an underrated addon that let's you see the killer, so mindgaming is out of the question (if used only) moris aren't fun at least for me, I only use moris when "by your hand kill a survivor with X killer" and even then I usually do it on death hook or again OoO.
Both are unhealthy to the game imo
-
@Mooks said:
Key don’t have to be fair though? You have plenty of stuff at your hand as killer that’s unfair but it will get defended.
i don’t see keys that often to be honest. Not as much as moris at the least. And if there is a key, it will not always be used, Morris on the other hand will always get used (not that for the last survivor). But there is more: is face camping bubba fair? Is tunneling fair? Etc. No! But killer mains will defend it with „the devs said its valid strategy“ - so are keys and Moris.
and keys are the least unfair in these examples.
This is just my opinion, but you can't find moris on chests, you can find keys.
Had a game yesterday, killed 1 survivor, rest 3 gen themselves, had no progress on any gen, all of the rest of the survivors were on death hook, but they found a key and all 3 escaped.
That is fair? Not at all.
I get that there are things to "counter" keys like franklin's but no one is going to waste a perk slot for that especially when most killers need slowdown perks or tracking perks.

Whatever it is, it definitely needs a clue/key to decyrpt.
That is great, that is a lot tbh and hopefully someone will understand that and could give us an answer.
This reminds me of dark souls and the item called pendant, it might not be anything but the devs might toying with us.
Thanks for sharing that!! Appreciate it!

Don't respond, report them and get them banned, that is more easy than losing braincells responding to people like that.
BTW, you got hatemail that means that you played great, unless you camped which I doubt but just think of every hatemail you get as "this player was playing better than me"
-
^ what Nancy said, the killer probably had M&A, or was probably a Pig/Myers/ghostface/wraith/deathslinger
-
I was playing survivor a few min ago, this happened to me, I dropped a pallet, ran away, ghostface hit on the other side of the pallet and downed me, sounds extremely fair.

Someone could argue that I still won, so why should I care? Well... When every game you expect to see the same opponents, doing the exact same strategies as before, and always playing in a way that is incredibly predictable... It gets rather stale, don't you think?
Yup, but let's nerf Freddy because he is boring, btw sick looking icon perks, they look amazing
-
It took me about 5 matches as well, hit some cross map hatchets, didn't count but after a while I decided to try it again and it did work.
-
I hate to be that guy but Freddy's lunge is the same as every killer but Myers T3, his slow down addons already got nerfed and he can't use ruin like before.
I'm starting to think people just overuse the word boring.
I will be frank, if that is boring to you, most killers find "boring" seeing DS/BT/unbreakable but here we are, still seeing at least 1 survivor using them per match, sometimes it's all 4.
Forever Freddy is now not as good as it was before

No worries, it is a dog controlling everything.
And to the OP, I believe the lore on silent hill remains the same, the entity took PH to punish people, not completely sure, just a small theory
-
This is from someone who recently switched from console to pc.
M&K doesn't give as much benefits as people make it out to be, the only killers that drastically change are Billy, huntress and nurse, for some reason I don't put deathslinger here because well I feel like it's way easier to use with a controller than with M&K (I play FPS with M&K and DS is easier to use with controller).
Benefits that PC has over Console (in my case PS4) steady FPS, easier to hit survivors trying to 360 you, AutoAim is less annoying, more friendly people, no FPS drop when you get Bloodlust.
The only advantage Console has over PC, no VPNers.
Up to people to decide what they want to do but I will gladly play against PC players on my ps4 since there isn't that much difference.
