For survivors its that. For killer it's their power and ability.

Didn't knew that, thanks for clarifying that.

It's an interesting take on the phycological viewpoint of these meta perks but both can be easily countered, the devs added pyramid head into the game with the specific ability to counter these perks.

The thing is that, sometimes it is harder to get them tormented than downing them.

Really interesting view that the OP gave though.

  • I thought the difficulty that the game gave were because of the perks and not the killer itself.

  • I feel the same, last pass was better than this one, I really don't care if I finish the current one or not.

I think the next pass should add free stuff on the empty spaces, at least some BP as fillers.

Some charms don't feel worth at all, especially for people that moved from console to pc (like myself that I lost both the lantern and the vial)

I hope they don't make other challenges like Dwight the brave and Dwight the fright on the near future.

  • I love being exhausted on the floor.

Jokes aside, I do believe sprint burst is better right now, when I play killer and I whiff because I forget what exhaustion perk they are using I usually end up still hitting the survivor.

Some things I usually hear from survivor main streamers, SB is more for gen jocking and dead hard is better for looping.

  • Practice, I still suck at survivor with M&K but I've been practicing a lot.

But I improved a lot on killer

  • As a killer Oni, as a survivor Dwight

  • Best counter is "look at the corner" it's an amazing strat, just stare at the corner and let them do whatever they want, meanwhile you as the killer go take a break, maybe a bathroom break or something.

Jokes aside I've gotten 2 OoO and It was hard af, I just slugged everyone until OoO came

  • Tunneling, camping and slugging doesn't exist as well since gen rush doesn't exist

You’re not taking full advantage of Infectious Fright, and not using Dark Devotion correctly if you’re struggling to get survivors to cleanse.

Not at all, smart survivors will not cleanse early

FNaF isn't much different in its accomplishments. It essentially gave birth to the genre of indie horror, and although FNaF's gameplay can be seen as linear, it includes many unique puzzles of its own such as Easter eggs or multiple secret endings. FNaF has way more to offer than just jumpscares, especially when the recent games have focused on a more terrifying atmosphere, and grizzly aesthetics, while the jumpscares have taken a back seat.

The story might seem complicated (and to completely honest, it is), but I think part of the hate here comes from the fact that Scott isn't trying to tell us a story, he's giving us clues to figure one out. The old story of FNaF is more or less complete, and now the community is gradually being fed hints through short stories. I don't really see how YouTubers promoting FNaF necessarily makes it bad, especially when Scott couldn't even afford rent back then, let alone a marketing team.

Not saying that promoting it makes it bad, but if your fav streamer/youtuber said "play this game" most people will do it because it looks like fun.

Read what @NikkiMouse said, that is what I meant, as a 24 yo guy, I don't find fnaf entertaining since I grew up playing great horror games like silent hill, old RE, ethernal darkness and stuff like that.

I would totally say FNaF is iconic and popular enough, especially comparing it to games such as silent hill.

The Silent Hill franchise sold ~9 mil copies as of Dec 2018 (I can't find anything more modern, so let's be generous and say that the franchise has sold 10 mil total games as of today).

FNaF's sales (from what I found) are between ~4 million - 8.5 million copies on steam alone, and that's not including FNaF VR, which topped sales records for PS:VR. That's also not taking into account the mobile ports, switch ports, or the AR game either.

This series was probably the center of gaming as a whole from late 2014 - late 2015, and it still has a very strong following to this day.

Silent hill revolutionized horror games, by giving you puzzles, creepy atmosphere and stuff, also from the 2000s and still popular to this day, meanwhile Fnaf is again, just a game to get jump scared with somewhat lore behind it, also let's not forget that it was an exclusive back then so less sales would make sense.

Let's not forget how many youtubers/streamers made the game more popular by playing it, aka Markiplier, pewdiepie etc.

  • But is not iconic to the horror genre I mean FnaF of course.

    Again like I've said before.

Myers is from an iconic movie series called halloween.

Freddy is from a nightmare on elm street series.

Ghostface is from a movie series called Scream.

Leatherface is from texas chainsaw massacre.

Pyramid head is from a really damn popular horror game called silent hill, he also appeared on the silent hill movies (the movies suck but you get the point).

Pig is from the gore/horror movies saw.

And you really mean to tell me that a bunny that jump scares people is iconic like those I mentioned before?

I wouldn't mind a chapter like IT, or candyman, even the boogyman or even la llorona (which is a mexican legend) but fnaf? I just don't see it

I wouldn't buy it but I know people will.

  • Weird, I get instant matches for both killer and survivor, rank 2 survivor rank 3 killer atm

  • If it's because you are facing red rank players when you are rank 20 (as an example) yeah I'd say wait for the new MMR

  • No, I've met survivors and killers who are rank 1 and play like a rank 37 player, someone who has never touched a controller/m&k in their life.

  • Where can I find games like that as a killer? I usually get gen rushers, people that heal each other and help each other, get dedicated and stuff, can't grab from gens, lockers etc because dedicated servers again.

And when I play solo survivor I know what to expect, and imo it's more fun because you see some dumb plays that actually make you laugh.

If this is another "let's nerf irri hatchets and moris" I can't tell, I agree with you on the irri hatchets though it is just annoying and well I have a ton but I only use them if I'm playing against the same people that I played against last match with OoO.

  • Because most of the licensed killers/survivors are actually from great franchises, PH silent hill, ghostface while it isn't the original on dbd it's from scream, Michael well from halloween, leatherface from texas chainsaw massacre (which supposedly was based on a real thing), demo is from stranger things it isn't from a horror series but still the most popular show netflix has had, freddy I mean c'mon who doesn't know where he is from.

Not to offend anyone but FnaF games you just stay in one room looking at a tablet, closing and opening doors and vents, putting on masks and certain mini games.

Personally I don't think it would fit dbd going from horror icons and demo, to a jump screen simulator.

  • If you know how to ignore the obsession try stbfl instead of brutal strength, it will make your life easier

  • Chains of hate was my most hated chapter, I hate deathslinger with all my life, both using him and playing against him.

  • OhTofu for Hillbilly

  • The killer can't be banned in that situation I think.

But the survivors might for "working with the killer"

I might be wrong but Idk

  • The problem is not how long it takes is when they use it, from my personal opinion, 2 on hook, 1 being followed and you self caring, yeah not worth it.

But if none are injured but you and you are being followed etc, it can actually come in handy, some killers will mind game themselves more than what they think and self care can actually help a lot in that situation to force a killer to break a pallet and giving you more time to run.

Granted I don't use it anymore, I prefer inner strength or a medkit or staying injured but people play how they want, it's their game.

  • I liked tlou 2 just hated the ending, haters gonna hate, some people start moving with influencers, like "I hate this game" then the followers also hate it because of their supreme leader.

Tlou 2 linked tlou 1 more than people think, remember how Ellie talks about her fears on tlou 1? Most people don't, remember that on the left behind DLC, Ellie can kiss Riley? Most people don't.

Most don't realize that Joel (as much as I love his character) he is not an angel, the reason why Abby was behind him was because of what Joel did to her father, which in terms on story was on self defense coming from Joel, if you get close to the dr on part 1, he will try to stab you.

I just hate that they force you to like Abby when clearly I give no damn about her.

But I still don't hate the game.

Its abit annoying, but It doesnt really affect him in nearly the same way slowing down from bottle throws did. Bottle throw slowdown affected ya during the chases, which could result in chases lasting alot longer. Slowdown from reload typically happens outside of a chase, so sure...youll get to the next gen 1 second slower than you would have otherwise, but its not typically a game changer.

I always used to use feathers but this slowdown is harsh especially when you are forced to reload mid chase

  • The only thing I don't like is the slowdown bug after reloading bottles

  • Would've prefered double bp but ok, at least is something

So true. People gotta hate. I agree with you tho, somethings go a little far!

Yeah, that is going a little bit too far imo, people have threated to kill my family, myself and stuff like that, I suggest report them for stuff like that, since that is just too much.

  • Some people can't take an L, ignore it, I hate when people use illnesses to try to offend others but all I can say is people gotta hate.

  • That sounds like a massive nerf, like I always say, DS if you are working on a gen with the timer on, you are not being tunneled, if you are healing each other you are not being tunneled.

This is how I think DS should work.

If you are being tunneled after being unhooked, there is no timer you get to keep it as long as you are being tunneled, if you are not being tunneled and the killer hooks someone else it should deactivate for the person that was recently saved.

Just had a match that the survivors threw themselves at me, down 2 and hooked them, they instead of leaving the area after being unhooked decided to stay there, downed another survivor, they completely healed each other then I downed one again because well he was still there in plain sight, got hit by DS, one had QnQ I wanted to reload hatchets and got hit by the other DS because I wanted to get hatchets.

Still won, 1 pipped and I get why survivors get DS as the perk but it can be a little BS sometimes.

  • For making points, Plague is worse to pip from my experience Plague as well, can't get the damn adept at all because smart survivors will not cleanse

    Same.

I was hoping to get around 50 of each on nea and nancy but there so damm rare

I guess we are just unlucky, or maybe it is a bug? I was hoping to get a lot on Dwight and Heather but yeah no luck at all

  • I'd say if you play against a baby killer, don't go too hard on him, I play duo swf with my brother, we rarely tell each other stuff about the actual match, just stuff like "no one is coming, get me off the hook" and "just do gens I'm being camped to death" or "help me do this gen to prevent 3 genning ourselves" not stuff like "I'm on an LT wall go away work on another gen" "god pallet is down go to the other side".

But if your friends don't have that much experience let them practice against a random killer how to loop etc.

Perkwise I'd say just not to abuse stuff like 4 man swf DS unbreakable, other than that I think it's fair if you want to 4 man for fun

  • I haven't gotten a medkit or a FL in about 750k on Dwight, I thought they were common as well like the spoopy flashlight and the medkit from the halloween event

Don't people say that about every suggested change to a killer though?

Free hatchets, I'll take them but people will complain.

  • It was easy for me to find them, I'm currently just missing 2 on killer and like 4 on survivor.

They are kinda hard to see but on corn maps make sure to look through the middle, on the game and haddonfield I never seen one but people say that there are

  • It would make huntress way stronger, so I assume people will complain more about her but I do like the irri head change.

if they body block with BT you of course should just hit them & force them to flee. it’s a wasted hit & extra time but under certain circumstances that extra few seconds would not compare (maybe a few sweaty add-ons, a mori if you’re having a rough day vs continuous swf).

& also would it not be a winning situation for someone who, let’s say is under their 60 second DS, goes for an unsafe unhook? you are granted an effortless slug (being that you just hooked them you should recognize by a dumb play like that they have DS) and are forcing one of, if not both of the remaining two survivors to stop doing gens and help their teammates.

if this survivor who is playing reckless under their DS has unbreakable it would be at the killers advantage for them to waste their only self-recover because they wanted a cool clip. all of the attention has now been converted from gens to the helpless survivors

im interested in your rebuttal! i think there are also a few killer perks which can strategically nullify both BT and DS (for the most part)

"Just hitting them" by giving them a chance to make it more far away, and no I'm being theoretically, but I've had constant body blocks from survivors with BT when I'm clearly not going after them and that hit that you could've done to the unhooker is enough to actually down most of the time but let's assume they have DS and unbreakable like most of the time that people run DS in my experience, it's a free save and it's not an advantage to slug them most of the time, if they use unbreakable they still have the faster recovery and will have DS by the egc so unless 60 seconds have passed, it's a free escape.

What perks nullify those perks? Noed? It does but I don't use it. Dark devotion? Unless it's the obsession who is not unhooking it doesn't work. Devour hope? Technically it works but it's another hex totem.

You gave Infinite T3 Myers as an example, yeah no, the amount of time it takes to get you the infinite against good survivors......

Check the video above of Scott Jund, even a really good killer gets hit by DS when he wasn't tunneling, except the Kate but not the Claudette.

I'm not saying to not use DS, I just want people to not abuse plays like that.

Basically what @Blueberry is saying is what I want to say but it's 4 a.m and I can't think straight.

  • Game breaker no, game changing yes, a single DS can make you lose the match, if you are using a killer like Oni, an unbreakable will make his power have consequences.

It is not the perk's power it's how people abuse it, you get unhooked with BT, start body blocking the killer if he is there if he is going for the unhooker, then if the killer is smart he/she will wait the 15 seconds and you as a survivor will complain to the killer that he was tunneling because you body blocked him/her.

DS allows dumb plays that punish the killer, like going to unhook someone else immediately in the killer's face because you have a 60 second advantage and if paired up with unbreakable unless the killer wants to eat the DS you are free to go.

Some survivors will still do the locker DS thing, while the devs say that it's not an anti tunneler perk it does work like it.

Something that I want to add to the BT since that is actually an anti tunnel perk, am I actually tunneling you if you are body blocking me and not letting me go for the unhooker?

  • You should have it if you logged in, right now it's just the face, as far as I know if someone has the full set for claudette they might be hacking.

Edit: it's just the shirt, not the face

  • Super tryhard build: DS, BT, unbreakable and any exhaustion perk except head on.

Solo Looping build: iron will, qnq, sprint burst, DS.

Bro build: BT, iron will, SB and DS.

I put DS because of tunneling issues in your case.

Event items should stay after prestiging... when I have items such as a third year party streamer that are impossible to get now, I really don't want to prestige because I don't want to lose it. I'm a collector and I like to always keep at least one limited-time item to just have and losing them really deters me from prestiging my main character.

I agree with you, I still have the bbq item for killers on trapper, I don't prestige him because of that, I don't want to prestige bill, meg, spirit, huntress, oni, because of the pestula petals. I wish we could just keep event items and older stuff like old map offerings etc.

  • For camping bubba is better, for downs I'd say he is better, for pipping legion, for points legion, actual power legion, for bugs yeah legion has more bugs as of now, for map control and pressure legion, addon wise legion, fun factor imo legion, most hated out of the two bubba.

    Just my opinions

  • @TerrorTrooper said:

Sadly i need to learn how to counter pyramid head if he's not S. Is there a video/guide to counter him? Sadly i play on console and can't turn the screen like a mouse could to look behind me at times. Always try to watch out for the red zone but always get hit outside of it.

Pyramid head is hard to use as well on pc, people play him a lot like deathslinger, but so far I've pre dropped bad pallets and just loop around, it works a lot and waste a lot of the killer's time.

  • Just unlucky bud, when I play survivor I usually see people that are scared of gens, can't loop for 5 seconds, waste pallets instantly, waste god pallet without looping at all.

But when I play killer I get smart survivors that probably play both survivor and killer.

    We are just unlucky

  • I've seen people using deadhard for the frenzy, it is funny.

  • Question, why ghostface that low?

  • Save them, it's my opinion, don't waste them at all unless you want them 104% for yourself.

  • Oh forgot to mention, if you have issues with billy, try setting Q and E to look left and right, but If you are on console or use a controller, switch to 65/100% sensitivity.

It should take a while to learn to use him with mouse only to curve so don't get dissappointed in case you bump often.
