I dont think that this is what the community wants. Considering that Ghoul is one of the most used Killers, because he is super simple and you barely see any Singularity despite it being a really strong Killer already shows it. And this is even with Singularity made easier.

Some variety would be nice. Having every new killer be one with a telegraphed projectile and a mobility power is pretty tiring.

  • Sloppy butchered was nerfed from what it used to be and nearly every single healing perk has been buffed. Additionally you can watch any survivor stream and see that tunneling is not as pervasive as you claim unless you think the killer existing is the same thing as tunneling. Also the endurance status effect was increased by five seconds or 33%.

Everything you're saying is objectively incorrect.

  • BHVR please listen to this person. Houndmaster is such a unique character with some of the best voice lines in the game.

  • Shoulda just kept them banned

  • The only perk that causes long enough blindness to make this be a hindrance is Third Seal. Which is a hex perk that can explode at any moment and also requires the killer to hit every survivor on the map for full potency.

So is it a big deal for this one mediocre perk to inconvenience people that can't find hook bubbles, can't keep track of where the killer is downing or hooking people? Not really.

  • I still cannot believe they turned a mediocre 40 page short story into two films.

BT still has the same increase to the endurance duration, that didn't change.

What did change is that Babysitter's haste value gets lowered by the off-hook haste since they stack and are in effect at the same time. The duration is the same, but the effect is reduced until the base BT expires; instead of getting 20% total for the first 15 seconds you now only get 15% total as Babysitter's effect gets lowered to 5%. Once the base BT expires (or if you take a conspicuous action to end it early), Babysitter reverts to 10%.

This is nonsense. It feels like BHVR barely thought out the ramifications of this misguided update.

  • Niche and interesting interactions are dead in modern DBD. Everything must be standardized. Everything must be boring.

  • @UnicornMedal said:

The argument against this is "Killer has nothing else to do" but that's a not so subtle way of saying that consolation kills need to stay. If the trial isn't over, then all players should have the right to engage.

Your right. The trial isn't over. Other survivors are free to find unhook whomever is hooked.

  • Wait so does that mean that borrowed time doesn't extend the duration of the off-hook endurance as much because of diminishing returns? That can't be the case. It would be insane.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

One thing I want to make sure is clear about diminishing returns is that we're not looking at this as a one-and-done change. We're looking at diminishing returns as an ongoing process. This is why it's not being paired with wider perk changes, as I've seen some folks request. When making a broader systems change like this, it's often important to limit the number of simultaneous, linked changes so you can better monitor and understand the impact of the bigger-picture change. Then, equipped with that knowledge, it can help inform whether more granular changes (i.e. perk adjustments) are needed.

We're actively monitoring feedback, so please, play around with diminishing returns and continue to stretch and prod at it. If there are specific things that are causing friction (i.e. perks that feel particularly impacted by this change), let us know and we'll bring it back to the team.

Yall got a timetable on this? In 2030 can we expect a .5% buff on dark theory? Batteries?

I think it's better and more fun to just buff a bunch of stuff and let the chips fall where they may for a couple weeks. It's not going to kill anybody to have a few niche perks actually be good for a minute. You're way too conservative with changes and it makes the game feel stale.

  • @Mandy said:

There's no plans to change any perks at the release of Diminishing Returns, we will be doing a lot of assessing before we make changes as we fully expect things to need adjusting when the feature is live.

So if The Spreadsheet doesn't say these perks need help, they won't get changed. That bodes well.

  • They aren't going to bring back permanently sabotaged hooks, nor are they going to make wiggling off easier. They've been sanding pain points off for years and they aren't going to randomly revert to game design from eight(?) years ago.

I look forward to seeing you in posts whining about gen rushing informing the OP that they just need to get good and that it isn't something they have a right to complain about.

Or you could try and understand there's a difference between a gen and a survivor player. Gens don't load into a match with an expectation that they'll get to engage in some gameplay beyond going straight to hook, then back to hook, then back to hook or mori. Gens don't have to be clairvoyant and psychically know whether they'll be slugged or tunneled prior to a match when they pick their perks. A gen isn't annoyed if they get pushed out of a match at the exclusion of all other gens.

Doing something to a gen is not doing something to a player character.

If you are getting chased, you are engaging with the game.

  • All they had to do was bug fixes.

I keep telling everyone these tactics are uncounterable in solo q. They need to install like a comm system for all survivors like what friday the 13th the game had. I'm talking PC and console. I think it would prevent all that.

What tactics? You can see slugged survivors auras. Complaining about no one touching gens is not a tactic.

Solo has the same issues as any other multiplayer title that saddles you with a team of random people. They will never do the stuff you want them to do, even if you're pinging DO GENS on your chatwheel thirty times in a row. They will always do the stuff they want to do.

  • Incredibly boring character.

comments like this are interesting because how does Blizzard do it on Overwatch. You say 1 thing there and you get a warning very quickly.

Blizzard records and has an algorithm to detect stuff they don't like. BHVR does not have the resources or ability to do this; DBD doesn't have playback functionality. That's why they require footage for reports.

  • They will never add voice chat because they cannot moderate it.

I think what we need right now is a total vote count thread thats updated in real time as well, that allows users to reply under it.

Design by committee is awful. Especially considering that most people that play the game only play one side.

  • All of the best killer perks in the game require hooks in order to proc. Maybe krasue has the pressure to keep everyone slugged all the time but I doubt it. Feels like a risky proposition.

  • Killers would be under constant manual review because every time they have the temerity to win they'd get downvotes for whatever reason.

Nobody apparently remembers this but years ago (Nemesis reveal?) they announced automatic bans for players with too many negative reports. They never said anything about it again. Presumably they figured out that this was an awful idea: playing ghoul? Get reported every game. This has the same issue.

He got changed just before his departure, and when he came back he got some minor tweaks. All changes to a license holder's character needs to be ran by them by BHVR, even if it is a miniscule number change. Myers getting buffed only today is probably because they needed to get the okay from the license holders to change him again.

Doubtful. I'm pretty sure they present the assets and power for the character and they get approved. Any changes to the appearance and functionality of the character need to be approved. They're not hassling the licence holder whenever they need to rebalance them by altering power numbers or add-ons. Only big things like a complete power rework or changing the character's appearance would need to be approved. Otherwise it'd be an insane amount of red tape for every single change.

  • ....... Killer MMR is not universal. Each has their own rating. And none of these hours are high at all.

Oh my God. You're the guy trash talking exposed perks earlier in the thread. Lmao

  • @SoGo said:

It's uncommon, but thanks to the marker showing who's in the void, it's quite simple to get someone hooked in there.

If you don't care about the overall outcome of the match, you can hook every person who enters the void.

Not really? They have to be injured and also in the void for you to hook them. If they're healthy they just leave when you hit them. So you need injured survivors that don't know you're waiting in the void to enter it and you either need to be waiting for them or be close enough to a portal to meet them there.

It's a lot of hoops to jump through. My experience has been that injured survivors don't go into the void. My experience is also that if you just sit in the void nobody goes in there. It's probably easier with an insta down killer but I don't play any of those. It's a stupid quest.

Yeah but I'm sure it just got number changes, if we wanna a complete rework to addons it would be harder…

I'm fairly certain their licensing agreement permits them to change add-ons, but not the power itself in perpetuity.

  • I agree completely that he has design space for incredibly interesting add-ons. He's the only killer with passive 1v4 pressure and the only things that lean into that are incredibly weak.

Unfortunately advocating for buffs for a reviled killer I'm the current DBD climate is a non starter

You do realize how SWFs used it and I suspect that was its only big function.

I run it with for the people, sprint burst and shoulder the burden. It has the additional effect of mostly countering friends till the end.

It's a little too strong. It should be 40-50% or without the AoE.

  • @Defnotmeghead said:

So, no idea what the idea and state of his rework is in the background, so this will take some assumptions:
    1. Main event stays as is
    2. his M2 effectively remains the same

I actually think it would be interesting if Trickster, as 110% killer, would gain 1% haste for each consecutive hit he gets with his blades on survivors. Lingering for 5 seconds, that lingering being 10 seconds if his blades take a healthstate, or loses it when he m1's or misses an m2.

That way, a trickster could reach up to 64% haste if he manages to hit all survivors in quick succession, but generally speaking, he would be able to be effectively a 115% killer once he has used his blades to injure a survivor.

Trickster is already 115%. Also this is not a rework, the functionality of the killer is the same, their power merely has an additional feature.

  • @YuffieGreatestWaifu said:

Event mode brings out the worst behavior in killer and survivors just want to kick pumpkins and have fun in the void.

Survivors are sweet innocent friends and killers are no bad fun ruiners, right?

  • There should be more quests and they should not all be required to be completed. Like you should be able to pick which ones you want to do in order to complete the thing.

  • @SoGo said:

    Another one, Monitor.

Now useless on killers with 24 meter TR, and better for 40 meter TR killers, which all are in A tier bar Myers.

I completely forgot about this terrible and arbitrary change.

  • @Defnotmeghead said:

The main problem is that survivors now have 0 reasons to go into the void. The killer gets a notification, when you enter, they know when you leave, there are 0 usable tiles in there and if the killer slugs you, they can decide to keep you slugged as you are now locked into the void.

I actually have a bubba who waited 4 minutes to just slug me to death in the void. I have no reasons to ever go into the void.

The crystals repair gens for you? So what? Every killer seems to run Ruin so that fully gets countered. If those Crystals turned their progression into BNP-like progress, it would actually be worth going, but Ruin fully removing any progress at the cost of being slugged in the void? No thank you.

You go into the void when you know the killer is occupied, not just randomly. Ruin is a hex and can be cleansed.

I'm not sure if people just really lack any sort of game sense or what. It's like solving the cube; do it when the killer is doing something else.

  • @Choaron said:

Just play normally and you'll eventually get it. There's over 2 weeks left, for fudge's sake. Quit being being an impatient toddler.

I only play on the weekends. I don't mind challenges that can be done organically or that I can tailor a build to work for. Hit a survivor while exposed? Make your choice, iri plank, stuff like that. I can have fun with that.

This? If I only get two hooks organically in four hours how does that bode for finishing the quest? This quest requires you to either get incredibly lucky or ask your opponents to help you with it. It's not fun. It's just RNG.

  • @moputopia said:

Good to know it's not just me who felt like there's something wrong with the BP bonus.

For some time there has been an almost constant survivor bonus incentive regardless of actual queue times. I don't know if it's a bug or what, but it's annoying and I feel it's making already long survivor queues even longer.

Is annoying because I play whatever the game incentive is. So I'm wasting time in survivor queue for minutes at a time. Reckon it's kind of a small thing but it's very annoying.

In my games they literally go into the void injured mid chase and that with me being huntress. Speaking of her you should try her, even if they are healthy they probably won't make it out without getting snipped xD

Hell, you might be right. Maybe I need to branch out my killer roster.

  • @Defnotmeghead said:

agreed, but its fine for now. It's been more extreme for the past 6 months in the other aspect, not counting the fact that other killers have been overtuned and made playing against them a living hell on a lot of maps.

Is it overtuned? yeah, but wild overcorrection? I've only seen 2 maps that are wildly overcorrected. Most maps literally need pallet spawns to be reduced by 1 or 2.

Just as a comparison, the maps I am talking about before the chance were missing at least 6 pallets each. And that's assuming least amount of pallets needed. So imagine lowest pallet spread possible by RNG, then remove 6 on top of that.

Right now, most maps basically can be assumed they have (close to) the maximum amount of pallets every single time, which is overtuned, but not by much. Right now you're basically dealing with above average pallet spread, which is annoying to deal with every single game, but its doable.

(quick note, not to start a discussion, just to imply that this isnt going to be a high priority case for DBD devs for a bit, I would expect it to be tweaked the next time they introduce the anti-tunnel/slug patch)

The overtuned killers don't care about pallets anyway. Crotus prenn does not need three interconnected pallet loops that go into shack. I made a Springtrap DC on there the other day and I'm hardly the best survivor in the world.

Also: hot take? Haddonfield did not need that many pallets added or in the middle of the street. The clear sightlines permit prerunning and the houses are insanely strong loops anyway due to the vault locations in them.

Is it that uncommen for your games that someone uses the void? I see it relatively often, I just don't have time to actually do something with most of the time xD

I had a few games last night where the survivors didn't go into the void once. I am not exaggerating. Why aren't they just in the normal queue?

That being said the problem is they have to go into the void injured. If they are healthy and you hit them in the void they just leave. So I tried a few different ways to keep them injured(hit and run wraith, legion with broken addon) and it didn't make a difference. When they were injured they simply did not go into the void. I got 3 hooks in the void organically over the course of like 4 hours last night before I broke and just started begging people to let me complete it.

  • It's making my games as legion absolutely miserable. It's a wild overcorrection.

  • Nevermind, I was fortunate enough to find a couple of groups of survivors that permitted me to farm this.

FYI for the future it is asinine to have a goal that requires your opposition to assist you in completing it. If I hadn't gotten groups of kind survivors this either would not have happened or would have taken forever organically.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4015366#Comment_4015366

with so many people wasting time kicking pumpkins im pretty sure the killer has time to enter the void without any hindrance. yes survivors get an item to do gens for them but one kick of the gen stops that and to even get the crystal survivors have to step into the death trap that is the void. not really worth it for survivor.

How are you under the impression that kicking pumpkins takes a great deal of time? It's a like 1.5 second interaction.

Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a completely different game than you people.

  • @YuffieGreatestWaifu said:

This mode encourages survivors to waste the entire game kicking pumpkins, going into the void to waste even more time. Like all other events the Killer is rewarded for playing the event the survivors waste time playing the event properly

This is the opposite of reality? Going into the void as the killer is a far larger time sink; their time is 4x as valuable as a survivor's. Moreover survivors get an item that directly progresses their objective without any input from them.
