I have no difficulty GETTING the survivors my problem is survivors dc'ing or using tactics that dont allow me to hook them in the basement at the end. If they've placed themselves out of basement range they bleed to death by jumping of my shoulder and getting downed while they rush to the safe corner and if they are in range they just dc before i can even pick them up. This is not me not having enough "skill" to manage 4 people in the basement but rather people being unsportsmanlike.
Sounds like you're making it too obvious of that's what you're trying to do. As mentioned in my previous post, you got to think they like a survivor would. Whilst this strategy is highly map depended if you go into the game focused on patrolling the gens on the basement side. The survivors are then forced to go to the basement side of the map if they have a chance of winning the game.
When I did mine it was against an experienced group of four SWF.
-
I was able to do the four man basement challenge on my first try.
My strategy was to use BBQ, Iron Grasp, Agitation, Whispers on Leatherface.
I was fortunate to get Macmillan, Suffocation Pit. What I did was just ignore patrolling the gens on the opposite side of the map to the basement which forced the survivors to be near the basement. But you can do this strategy on other maps such as Arazov's Resting Place, and Coal Tower is also a good map to do this challenge as it's easier to get survivors to the Basement where ever.
Despite playing as Leatherface I didn't camp.
Also what rank killer are, how experienced are you as a killer as with most killer games you got to play smart and have some sort of game plan.
EDIT: To add with this challenge think like how a survivor would think, as a survivor main if I'm playing against killers such as the Trapper, Hag, Leatherface, I will do my best to avoid looping near the basement. If you're getting a lot of disconnects it would be due to your play style, are using tunneling and camping strategies.
Or it could just be that you made it too obvious of what you are trying to do, and some survivors will disconnect just to prevent you from completing the challenge.

I think what sets the difference in the red rank survivors this season from good and bad is you’ll notice a huge skill gap between rank 4 to rank 1. You’ve still got lower tier purple ranks getting to level 4. But most lower quality red ranks from what I’ve seen have a hard time getting past level 3. They usually won’t make it out of or past three. I’ve got rank one through all the ranking updates and by far this update has made it the most obtainable. I’m playing level 2-3 killers and they aren’t that great.. hell even level one killers. Before this update it was a lot more grindy. A true purple rank player would never really get past 5 maybe reach 4 towards the end. And you’re higher tier “sweat” survivors were rank 1-2 half through season. They need to fix it though. I’m playing with bad red ranks now.
I'm currently only rank 4 not because I'm a bad red rank survivor, but because I've only played survivor on one night since rank reset. Even that was for seven games.
Before the new rank reset it would only take me a few days to get back to rank 1 from rank 10, but I generally only play about 7 days of the season.

Can I please get a game were I’m or somebody is not being tunneled to death?
Can I please have a causal game where everyone make points over 10k?
Can we please not “gen rush” a killer to make them feel like they have to tunnel?
If you really think tunneling is a strategy you really need to re-evaluate how you play this game. This is not a competitive game so please stop treating it like one.
Both Survivors and Killers
It’s not a playstyle it’s unhealthy gameplay.
What rank are you as survivor, as if you're in green and yellow ranks you're more likely to encounter bad killers who are more likely going to camp and tunnel, because they don't know any better.
Camping and tunneling still happens at red and high purple ranks but it's a lot less common.
If you find yourself being tunneled the best thing you can do is make the killer not want to tunnel you. First is don't t bag and spam your flashlight at the killer.
The next thing you can do is to improve your ability in looping. You can do this by practicing looking back at the killer, learn about the various jungle gyms/ T & L walls, and other structure loops.
As well as trying to improve on your pallet efficiency, try and avoid using a pallet instead try use windows if possible. If you need to use a pallet try and make the most of that pallet before you need to use it.
By being able to loop the killer you either make the killer want to give up chasing you, or if they are determined to get you they sacrifice a lot of time chasing you. If your team mates are smart they are pumping out gens.
------
Looping use to be my weakest aspect of the game, but I worked on it and it's now my strongest aspect of my game.
EDIT: I also played at high ranks as killer before the rift came in (I can only play a select few killers at high ranks), gen rushing is the result of the killer not providing map pressure. If a survivor isn't being chased then they should be working on a generator. I've lost count the amount of times I've finished a game as killer with five gens left at red ranks.
-
Maybe it's because I'm a survivor main, but I'm the opposite if I come across a bad survivor as killer I'll do my best to make sure that they don't pip. I do it so they learn from their mistakes, and I don't want to be the reason for them to somehow get boosted to high ranks then I would have to deal with them as survivor.
I'll often give a survivor hatch if they thought they played well (good looper, stealthy players are getting hooked).
EDIT: I've had scenario where I was nice to a 3 man SWF for whatever reason (can't remember), they all somehow got to red ranks later in the season and were the 3 randoms in one my survivor games. They gave a bad Huntress an easy 3k, as they kept rushing the basement.

. . . . No, I remember reading something that the devs said way back in the day. "We don't care if the character in game is scared, we want to scare the player"
Communication is a curse that is destroying this game. You hear a random heartbeat you get off a gen and scout around. With communication it removes the fear that the Killer could be targeting you. SWF is a horrible mode that shouldn't have been added. Be honest if your running with 2, 3 or even a full stack how many of you tell your friends "The Killer is chasing me do gens"
Communication ruins the fear aspect that this game tries to build up. Killers become a joke because survivors shout out they need help and here come 3 survivors to body block the hook.
Its so bad on console that I get spammed with party invites to join the other Survivors. It happened Yesterday in two matches. And when I didn't join I got hookfarmed, sandbagged you name it. I would be in the side of the map healing and her comes a survivor dragging the Killer right too me.
Communication is ruining this game point blank and simple.
Another thing is you haven't considered with VOID with DBD is European servers, there are so many language barriers that you wouldn't even be able to communicate with the other survivors even with in game voice system.
If I wanted to talk in DBD I'll play SWF, like everyone else I don't want to have to deal with listening and talking to randoms. Also in solo I can freely say "wow this David is boosted" or this "this Meg is useless" without hurting anyone's feelings.

So a little of a backstory i'm on the new map running all seeing blood with whispers and the one that increases movement speed on wraith tremendously while cloaked. Well there was this one girl who loved to throw down a pallet and tbag me and flashlight me while i was breaking the pallet so i eventually downed her and hooked her. Well while she was on the hook whispers was activated and since whispers has amazing synergy with all seeing blood of course i looked around and found like the 3 other survivors and downed them and by the time i got the last guy the girl i had hooked had died on hook. Well they hadn't completed any gens yet. So i wasn't really satisfied so i messaged the one and said i was giving them a 1 minute head start which i literally did i let the one on my shoulder wiggle out and went afk for a minute while i got a drink. Came back downed everyone again hooked them all and let the last survivor leave through hatch. Well i messaged the guy and he called me a proximity camper. Was i really when i knew the other survivors where nearby because of whispers? (And yes he actually wanted me to let the other survivors unhook him yet i looked at his perks im glad i didnt because of ds).
I use Whispers a lot for my killer builds, but Whispers does get triggered by the hooked survivor for future reference.
I speak as a survivor main, if a survivor does t bag and spam their flashlight they aren't in the position to complain if they get camped when they are downed. If you want to t bag you got to have the skills to back it up.

"hope a random is going for them?"
What if the randoms, like you, determine that the hooked survivor is too far away from their curent position? Your decision just now has cost the survivor-side one hook stage which wouldn't have happened with a competent SWF.
It's a judgement thing, if that scenario happens then so be it. In most cases if I'm on a generator and there's a hooked survivor on the other side of the map from me, in most cases it would be pointless for me to abandon my gen and go for the save. By the time I would get there the player would have been unhooked.
Normally due to bond I'll know if another survivor is going for the save or not. Kindred is also very popular since it's buff.
Regardless, it doesn't change my point that a killer will struggle against four good survivors regardless if they are using comms or not.

Again, you choosing to be in a "competitive" mindset as a solo and you choosing to be "casual" in SWF is all on you - it has nothing to do with how people can play in SWF.
Ok, how about when someone else is hooked? Do you rescue or hope that someone else will take that risk while you work on the generator? In a game where every second counts and can determine whether you live or die in the end, are you saying that 4 good solo survivors would be able to make the same optimal, most efficient decisions (and as quickly) as 4 SWF survivors without relying on luck or good guesses (or wasting a perk slot)?
I use bond. So I have a rough idea whose going for the save. If the hooked survivor is too far away for bond to read what the other survivors are doing, I'll just hope a random is going for them and I'll continue working on my generator.
I use bond when I'm SWF anyway, as it's a very good tool for avoiding running into loops and jungle gyms where the other survivors are working on generators.
EDIT: I have friends who like to play competitively in SWF, I'll probably play with the same mindset as I do solo when I play with them. Again they are pretty good at the game, so in my opinion the match would result in the same way whether we were on comms or not. We may have an advantage in knowing where hex totems are and be more efficient in going for hook saves. As I've said before it survivors don't need communication to know when they should be working on a generator.

@knell said:
Your inability to concentrate has absolutely nothing to do with SWF.
There are people who can concentrate on the game while playing SWF.
There are people who can't concentrate even while playing solo.
If you and your opponent are both of equal skill level, and your opponent is fully immersed in the game, concentrating to his maximum potential, and you are not focused on the game at all (for whatever reason), you should get destroyed every single time. You choosing to play in non-optimal fashion has nothing to do with SWF. That's on you. You playing worse in SWF than in solo is all on you.
I'm still a good survivor in SWF, in fact a lot of my friends rate me as one the best players they've played with. I'm in a more of a competitive mindset when I play solo, when I'm in SWF DBD becomes more casual.
I've played at high ranks as both killer and survivor (despite being a bad killer) since last year, I don't think SWF is currently as strong as it was. Survivors play a lot more optimal then they did in the past. As I said quite a few times in this post, you don't need to have comms to know that if you are not being chased by the killer to work on generators.
SWF is strong with mediocre survivors as they need the coordination to play optimally, but killers will struggle against four good survivors regardless if they are on comms or if they are all playing solo Q.

so youre saying that you do worse in SWF because...you dont talk about the game?
Well im about to rock your world, if you guys actually talk about the game youll start dominating. Youll have the info of everyone else on your squad at your finger tips, youll know the killer, where hes at all times, what perks theyre running, and what gen you should be on.
I get the feeling from some of these replies that you guys aren't ignorant of how broken SWF is but just dont want survivor nerfs. But the devs are already aware that the system is broken (The game was never made for it it in the first place) and want to BUFF survivors so that everyone will be on equal grounds with communication and then balance the game around that.
I would link that info but im not sure exactly where I read it, I think it was an AMA in reddit that Paulie Esther went through on his channel (Great guy btw check him out if you haven't, pretty sure I was banned from commenting on his live stream for asking if he ever plays killer tho lol)
No, I said I do worst in SWF because I'm not concentrating on the game as much as I do in solo. In solo rather than talking to friends I'm just focusing on planning my next chase route.
As a killer I've played against a group of four mediocre survivors be really strong due to their team work. Generally good survivors don't need comms to play optimally, like you don't need to comms to know that if you are not being chased by the killer, do a generator.
To sum it up four good solo survivors will be just as challenging for the killer as SWF.

SWF are pretty easy to spot since they all appear in the lobby at the same time.. lol. That almost never happens with randoms.
Happened to me twice in a row where I had a killer message me saying "I hate SWF" when I was solo (this was at red ranks), I was the one that caused them the most issues in game.
-
@Tr0g said:
If you play better solo than SWF that just means your SWF group doesn't coordinate well. It's the coordinated SWF groups that completely overpower killers.
You don't need voice comms to know if the killer isn't chasing you, you need to be on a generator. I've lost count the amount of times I've been mistaken for SWF when it was just four solo survivors.
Yes the majority of the friends I play with are more casual, so I don't play as competitive as I do solo. I've played in a group of 4 SWF where the other three survivors are really good. In my opinion those games would have ended the same regardless if we had comms or not. You don't needs comms to play optimally.
-
In my opinion there isn't much difference between a 4 man SWF group and four good survivors playing solo. The game will probably end the same. Before the Archives I played at high ranks as killer as well.
With good survivors you try not to waste too much time with them, and look for a weaker survivor that will waste pallets. Whereas if you are going against four good survivors no matter if they are in SWF or solo you will have to waste a lot to be able to down any of them. Most killers will have a hard time going against four good survivors regardless if they are all solo or in SWF.
-
It's not just survivor, you get salty killers too. I've got countless images of killers ranting at me because I looped them for a long period of time. From swearing at me, to them writing a novel of how "toxic survivors are ruining DBD", to them declaring I'm on their mori/facecamp list.
I would post them but I'm too lazy to blur out their names. I might do it later.

Everytime I see a lobby full of Claudettes and David I just know its going to be a guaranteed loss as a solo.
Its not really a "bad" stereotype ;never once had a Claudette that wasnt down within the first 30 seconds of a match except those in a swf group.
Yesterday I had two games in a row where I was chased by the killer for over ten minutes, yet there was still four or three gens left when the killer downed me. Whilst I was being face camped on the hook I still saw the Claudettes crouching around the map. This was at red ranks.
@TheTexasRattle said:

Wondering how people got to their ranks happens at all levels, for both survivor and killer. It normally happens when a survivor is carried by SWF and for killer they get boosted by NOED.
-
Most I've come across have been boosted with terrible decision making.
To sum it up I had a game a couple days before rank reset (When you get a lot of potatos at rank 1), I had a flashlight and I was in a good position to make a flashlight save, whilst I was injured I had iron will. The Yui ran up behind me begun healing me against a killer that had nurses calling, she single handedly cost us the game.

Simple.
1. A survivor walking around not doing gens--not doing his main objective and per devs roughly 70% chance he will die.
2. A killer not tunneling--can go after whoever just unhooked the sap. Can go stop a gen from being done.
3. A survivor doing gens is not harassing a killer, taunting, looping, stunning, flashlighting. A killer tunneling is as upsetting as survivors clicking flashlights and teabagging--it really kills the fun because you are making someone feel utterly helpless and frustrated.
4. "Your fun is not my concern." Well unless you like long ques or the devs invent bots, yes it is.
For number four I'm sorry, I'm a survivor main but your enjoyment isn't the killer's concern. The same how it's now the survivors concern whether the killer is having fun or not.
For those that believe it's role to provide you with a fun game, ask yourself this, when you play survivor do you care about the killer's enjoyment?
I actually made a post about this.

Camping isn't "toxic".
It's like saying gen rushing or looping is toxic.
You're complaining about getting camped every game but not running kindered?
Gen time is 80s, hook time is 120s. Run kindered so your teammates know to just slam gens.
As I mentioned in my original post I personally wasn't the one being camped, and in the image you the see the person being facecamped by the P3 trapper did have kindred. I personally hold an expectation that rank 2 killers shouldn't be camping. Does a rank 2 really need to camp in a 3v1 or with an ebony mori?
And I have already mentioned I'm a big believer in that the killer can do whatever they like as long as they find it fun. I personally facecamp every Elvis Hair Nea (Nea with the close cut) I go against. I'm not saying that every red rank killer is a camper, this post is about matchmaking putting against a killer that wanted to play in that way.

Good point. But as a side point don't you get similar information from Bond?. What I mean is that Bond gives you greater situational awareness overall.
To be more specific, I tend to know what areas chases have happened in and know if I get into a chase to stay away from those areas, that couple with knowing where or at least having an idea where to move to next is usually enough.
I guess I'm just curious on your opinion because maybe in prolonged chases is when you find it most beneficial?
You have point bond is useful in that aspect but I'll sometimes forget what areas where pallets have been. Yes, my build is mainly to help me in prolonged chases, and I mainly use bond to help me avoid running to jungle gyms and areas where people are working on generators.

I use windows so I know which pallets have been used by other survivors, I've lost count the amount times I've gone to areas expecting a pallet to be there only for it to have already been used. In my opinion it's a very underrated perk for chase route planning.

EDIT: I still play both sides, as a survivor I personally don't bring in keys as along with Moris as they need to be looked at. Despite my play style is referred to toxic, as it involves distracting the killers, I rarely t bag, spam flashlight, or other BM's.

I would like to have the Chinese New Year's David Jacket, but what you have to consider is that people who own those exclusive items did a lot of grinding to get those items. I own the the Hillbilly's Pro-Pain Hammer and Kate's Song Bird Dress. They aren't the best cosmetics but I earned those cosmetics and they are indicators to others players that I earned those items during the event, rather than me buying them.
EDIT: Especially the Pro-Pain Hammer, before the event I had never played as killer. I had to learn how to play killer before I could even get my Summer BBQ hooks.
In my opinion asking for the old exclusive cosmetics to made available to everyone, is similar to asking for Legacy skins to be made available to everyone.
-
When I first read the title I thought it was a survivor and the killer teaming up. I have heard of two killers in one match. It is a bug that shouldn't really happen, the killers are not showing good sportsmanship for taking advantage of the unintentional bug.
My main concerns in that video is the lack of pallet efficiency. Especially against a Huntress, as Huntress is slow so you can afford to be more greedy with pallets than with other killers (The Trapper wasn't nearby at the time). You can improve this by practicing, when you're in a chase have the mindset that you'll try use the least amount of pallets as possible.
Also why isn't the Huntress, breaking god pallet? it's god pallet, as killer you want to get god pallet out of the match as quickly as possible.

I agree I actually made a post that Shelter woods could do with a rework or just removed entirely, as it's outdated and probably the worst map in the game.

And then they have the balls to talk trash after, like seriously??
You know the matchmaking bases the rank on the highest ranked survivor in the lobby, rather than the average rank of the group (it use to be based on the average rank). If you're a green rank and killer you're getting red rank survivors then that's the matchmaking problem, not the SWF using their lower ranked friends to manipulate the match making.
Personally in my opinion, since the match making change I think SWF isn't as strong as it was. As a red rank killer what would you rather face; one red rank survivor with three low ranked survivors on comms or four red rank survivors without comms?

It shouldn't be player's job to provide fun gameplay but rather it is up to developers to design their game with "fun" gameplay in mind as the one being more optimal.
So when killer chases a survivor which then runs to the other survivor on the hook and unhooks in your face without borrowed time you would expect killer to not down and rehook that poor farmed dude and and the same time killers would expect survivors not to finish gens with record times while crouching around the map corners as it is not really fun gameplay.
This game sadly has many unwritten rules which stem from sometimes horrible design flaws but we have to deal with it until devs do something about it other then add YET ANOTHER PERK that is supposed to deal with a game problem instead of changing the base game for everyone.
If you are farmed off the hook that isn't really the killers problem. Although when I play killer I try to go after the unhooker, and try and slug the farmed survivor to prevent the farmer getting a safe hook bonus, but you can't expect every killer to do that. When I'm farmed off the hook and then instantly hooked again, my frustration is aimed at the farming survivor rather than the killer.
Also with generators, again if generators are done too quickly that is not the survivors problem either. It's more the killers fault for not providing map pressure. Although generators hardly get done quickly in my survivor games, I've been in chases which have lasted nearly twenty minutes, and not all the generators have been powered.

Tbh someone with 100 hours of gameplay is still relatively new to the game, probably doesn't know any better. I had a friend who was new to the game ask me "how do you keep survivors on the hook without camping".
Although I know a rank 1 killer who I've played against numerous times, he still camps and tunnels often with Iridescent Head Huntress. Normally he can't catch me, the ones he does catch are normally randoms so it doesn't bother me too much.
Although I hate the cosmetic "Close Cut" on Nea, otherwise known as "Elvis Hair Nea", if I see someone in my lobby with Elvis Hair on Nea I will facecamp them when I'm the killer or be an extremely bad team mate to them as a survivor.
-
You can still 360 a red rank killer.
-
I'm on the PS4, and I have an alternate account which I use for Dead by Daylight but it's not for going against Rank 20 killers. Whilst my main account is at rank 1, my alternative account is normally at around rank 6 so I still go against decent killers on my "smurf".
The reason I use my alternate account is to warm up, I'm a good survivor but I'm also inconsistent and it normally takes me a few games to start playing well, after I start playing well I'll switch over to my main.
Another reason why is sometimes I get tired of constantly going against rank 1 Spirits with beads, so I switch over to my alternate account to get some variety of the killers that I go against.
-
Just report the killer, he'll probably be banned from PSN for what he's saying.
EDIT (I was in a lobby queue and I got into a match): From how he's messaging he might be immature or he might just have outside issues going on, might be worth messaging him to ask if everything is okay.

I...don't actually know how I feel about that. On the one hand, you are kinda farming your teammate. But on the other, not wanting to be the Rancor target would be a strategic reason to try and get a teammate to pop DS. On the OTHER other hand, what if you pull a stunt like that and it turns out that the Laurie isn't actually running DS?
Good question, I just had a feeling that the Laurie had DS but if the Laurie didn't have DS I would have been a "the c word" for no reason. I don't remember the game well but I'm pretty sure I was using borrowed time, so not too bad. Although whilst it worked I consider it the most evil thing I've done in game.

I've "accidentally farmed" a Laurie once. I was the obsession with Rancor, not only did the Laurie used Decisive, I was still able to get a safe hook bonus (profit).
I even made a meme about it.

Moonwalking isn't a juke, It's only to flex on baby killers lmao. I haven't missed a single hit on someone who is moonwalking at me as they are still going in a straight line.
I disagree moonwalking can be quite handy against Nurses. Although I'm still not great at moonwalking, I only use it to show off as most players on the console can't moonwalk.

As a fellow PS4 player, I agree.
I also feel that PC survivors have an advantage during a chase, due to keyboard and mouse. Whenever I watch gameplay on YouTube, PC players seem to be able to track the killer using the camera, a lot better than I ever can. I suspect its due to the versatility of using a mouse. It might also be due to a higher maximum sensitivity setting for PC than console. It's just a suspicion and I could be wrong, as some PS4 players are great in a chase.
It's still possible to track where the killer is on the PS4, although it does sometimes feel that the camera turns slower than milk even on the highest sensitivity.

As a PS4 player I don't want to play against someone on the PC. As players with a mouse and key board have a higher skill level ceiling than those with a controller, which would be an unfair advantage.
EDIT: For example a lot a lot of PC players can moonwalk, and can use it to juke the killer (such as the Nurse). Not many players on the console can moonwalk. I can moonwalk with a controller, but not as well as a player with a mouse and keyboard can moonwalk.

@Nutty_Professor To an extent pips are on you, but it is very much out of your control if everyone dc's and you don't even safety (aka lose a pip). I will never say that someone else aka Disconnecting, not participating in gameplay when you chose to, is in your control. It CAN be possible with a single disconnect to make pips work, but the point is that is not ALWAYS the case, and because it is not always the case, I view it as being a flawed system right now. Such as the times that If disconnecting forces the game to immediately end and you can't safety and therefore lose a pip, that does not seem right to me.
Basically, It should always be about you and your skill, and if its not always, then I view it as flawed. I think they very easily can fix certain things to make it more fair in those regards, but right now that is not the case. Like sure it works to an extent, I understand what you are saying. Just there are exceptions. And it's out of your hands nonetheless.
You'll get games like that, but even in games like Overwatch, you can lose SR because someone on your team rage quit or other stuff which is out of your control.

So, the current rank system isn't based on your own personal skill, and is determined by other factors you have zero control over, which sucks. Does someone decide they want to DC? Oh, well you now depipped. GG's. ( <- And that goes for survivors and killer) People decide to let their teammates die on first hook? Well you lose out on those points as well. Etc. And lets not forget the killer... you kill everyone TOO quickly, you lose out... lol.
Yeaaaa.....
Players that been here longer care less than new players. In most games rank means something. And rank, generally, is supposed to be about your skill and to some people that means something, whether or not there are "Rewards"... which the dev's said they will implement. So, more people will probably start caring that currently don't. -- And also people still try to get Rank 1 for the steam achievements etc.
Regardless of why you want to rank.. this, the lack of control, creates a great deal of tension in people. I believe the real issue is how the emblems work currently, once they fix that to be more in line with actual "skill" of a player, I feel like the tension will decrease, and you won't see people blaming others.... as much.... lol
Despite not caring about ranking up, I do care about whether I pip or not as I see that indication whether I won or not. For me escaping isn't important, I rather have a fun and die, then escape in a boring match.
I disagree that pipping is out of your control. Escaping is a team effort but pipping is on you, unless the killer was really bad that you couldn't earn any chase or altruism points. Even with a disconnect and bad team mates you can still pip.
For example I had a game where a spirit destroyed my team with four gens remaining, but the spirit couldn't down me and I got the hatch. I nearly doubled pipped at red ranks.

As a survivor main I disagree that referring to a survivor as a try hard just means that they are of a higher skill level then you.
I consider myself a good survivor but I like to mess about and have fun, I still get called toxic by killers for my mess about playstyle. What I consider a try hard survivor is something who takes the game too seriously, plays just to win and not to have fun. I find these survivors unfun to play with in SWF.
For example I know someone who I consider a try hard, he takes the game too seriously, I only have him as a friend so I know when to avoid playing with one of my DBD friendship groups. I wouldn't say he's a better survivor than me, it's just I find him unfun to play with.

I think most people haven't played any other online game before. I can't think of any other reason since teabagging has been a thing in online games for so long and no one gets triggered like people do in dbd in those games.
I once got facecamped because I Tea Bagged my friend after he got downed, the tea bag wasn't even directed at the killer.

What kind toxic behaviour do you mean?
The true form of toxic behaviour which is posting various of insults in end game chat or if you're on console sending toxic private messages. Now that's toxicity should (and is) be bannable.
Or do you mean the aggressive survivor playstyle that is often considered "toxic". Running the killer for five gens is not toxic, that's called trying to survive. T-bagging and clicking a flashlight at the killer is a valid strategy like tunneling and camping is for the killer. Whilst I rarely t-bag and spam my flashlight at the killer. When I do it's to get the killer to chase me as a smart killer will abandon a chase with a good survivor go for a survivor whose weaker in a chase. So T-bagging and spamming your flashlight can trigger the killer to waste more time chasing you, so the other three survivors can do generators.
How I see it is that you can be as toxic as you like in game, as long you're a decent human being at the end of the game, by giving a simple "good game".
-
My style of play more on the aggressive style, very rarely I try to be stealthy unless I'm going for hook saves. As I'm quite a good looper, so I don't really mind if the killer can see me as. As it's one thing the killer can see me whether he can down me is another thing. Most my chases go two ways the killer just gives up chasing me and tries to ignore me for the rest of the game or I get chased for ten minutes.
-
Apply map pressure... maybe?
-
I know about the match making issues, also the survivors as well. I've been on 10-15 minute chases, when I do get downed there are still four gens left (often I was the one that did that gen).
