Not back in the day, they had to make 1 for self healing obviously, and even then, its only a single heal, when back in the day, you could get at least 3 heals from a green medkit. As for dodging behind object, no, even when crouching behind an object in front of her directly inbetween you and her, a decent huntress can still hit you. A myers or ghostface cannot get stalk from it, but a huntress can get a hit from it. The only practical way of dodging a huntress is either having so many trees that she'll never have a direct line of sight, or few enough trees so you can easily sidestep, except, that there is only 1 map where trees are common enough to use that and maps where that isnt the case, you have tons of other objects you run into, meaning you'd have to look ahead for objects and behind you to see where huntress is aiming at.
Which isnt a problem at her base charge speed, as you have just enough time to look forward and backward inbetween shots, but with the reduction, there is not. Meaning you gotta get lucky on RNG for object spawning or memorize the ######### map before you get in a chase.
I'm just gonna throw in two names for you: ScottJund and Umbra. Both are decent huntress players that know exactly where they are able to throw a hatchet. I'm pretty sure your counterplay against huntress will get better if you watch some of their guides and videos.
-
Usual meta perks are: BBQ, Nurse's Calling, Pop goes the Weasel, Infectious Fright, Monitor&Abuse, Enduring, Spirit Fury and Discordance.
Feel free to add some, i'm sure i forget one or two.
-
More: Nurse
She takes alot of skill to play AND counterplay correctly, so it would be nice to see her more, she's outright unplayable for most people sadly.
Less: Freddy
Speaking as solo survivor/killer(nurse main) it's infuriating for me that a killer can get so much just for free where other characters have to work really hard or got more downsides. And he'a boring to play because he got basically no skillcap.
-
There are many people out there that don't got the money to buy a gaming pc so it would be really nice of the devs gave us some more detailed graphics options. It's kinda difficult, because some people abuse specific graphic options to get an unfair advantage tho.

Same dude. Same.
Survivor queue takes ~10 minutes and killer queue is instant. High rank life. :(

I have Parkinson's. :(
(You decide how you play. In high ranks tunneling doesn't work anymore, because DS and BT exists. And most survivors understand tiles and know the optimal looping route.)

Survivors is the "good" side and it's easier overall, especially as beginner and in swf.

There is a big difference between having a similar effect, and a practical effect that essentially is a replacement for a perk. Freddy is the worst offender to that. Technically Wraith has addons that replace fire up and brutal strenght, but those are cases of very ######### perks that would otherwise be a waste of a perkslot and he can only do so while in a state where he is unable to attack survivors. Having an addon that can replace/compliment a ######### perk is one thing, having addons that do the same to good/great perks are a problem for game balance. Because you'd essentially give a killer 5-6 perk slots that can be filled with good/great perks.
Why do you think Styptic and Syringe got nerfed? Because they were essentially an extra perk. Brand New Part and Toolboxes got massively nerfed because they essentially were an extra perk. All medkits got reduced self healing because they were essentially a better form of selfcare.
Except the green medkit is made for self-healing lol.

Yeah, and her quickload addons too. Just manna braid alone leaves for 2 hits before STBFL can have 2 hits. Without being at risk of losing speed either.
I mean, imagine Wraith having an addon that allows him to hit while cloaked. Or Deathslinger's reload speed being as fast as Huntress wind up time. Or trapper being able to instadown people who have touched a trap.
Sure, if you are heavily disabled and not able to move behind any cover it's super op. Just like bubba's chainsaw.

Actually if you think about Spirit fury & Endure. You're likely take away 33% number of pallets. Which is pretty strong.
If the survivor don't got a brain and not just starts predropping of course.
-
You can, anyway only if you get perfect with a character with a high skillcap just like nurse or huntress.
With killers like Bubba, Trapper or Clown it's not possible to win against a good team without pöaying scummy af.

Yeah but the chances of getting that mori is low against a decent team. And the fact that its active during the match is a disadvantage as well as the amount of times ive hit DH in the first like minute is funny.
It's called "high risk - high reward".
Or in germany we call this: "hohes Risiko - hoher Ertrag".

That was my biggest problem with f13, the perk system was awful and way to rng
Yeah was my reason to stop playing warframe too. For one single part of a frame you needed to grind one mission like ~200 times to get a (hypothetically) guaranteed drop. That mission took half an hour. I don't like to spend 100 hours to do the exact same thing over and over again.
-
Rotten Fields. Every other map got at least some other things than demonic corn.
-
Ever played warframe? At least the grind in dbd is ultimately not RNG based.

It really doesn’t take that long but ok buddy
Both addons aren't great with infinite T3 being the better one. Judith Tombstone is only useable with infinite T3 tho.
-
OoO got build-in premonition without a cooldown so yeah i only use "Off the record" with it.
-
So lockers should be invincibility against chainsaws? You need to bait them into bumping into it.

Old base nurse.

@NursesBootie I have left a few in the dust, the others I can see how they are good, but I am just talking about when I juke a killer out and I am behind him or the right or left of them and I am hit that was doesn’t make sense. Or completely vaulted over a pallet or window that’s what I am talking about. That’s the bull crap part they need to fix I understand latency and lag. I am just talking about the forgiveness this game really does give to killers that shouldn’t be the case.
Sometimes on the killers screen you didn't even completed the vaulting action. it's mostly server related issues, you can see that really good because grabs from gens/totems/chests doesn't work properly atm.
-
Spooky Myers is a meme, so it's actually funny. Just like bamboozle nurse.
-
Not enough red rank killers was an issue for a long time. Is that still the case, can anyone confirm?
-
You seem fairly new to the game, that's the reason killers got an easy time on ya. Trust me, if you will get better at survivor you will leave most killers in the dust.
-
I just look at matches like that as training. It's annoying to play against killers that don't understand the game, but at least i can train a bit for myself.
-
It works well with BBQ and iri heads, if you got aim.

Killers also get dedicated. Get over it.

Well it only shows your aura with an addon. Ever played new doc or actually tries to understand him?

there is a difference between playable and basically a guaranteed win. it takes very little skill to press one button to make everyone scream, & another to stop them from vaulting or doing anything.

and yes of course it is possible to loop and escape a doctor, but not everyone who plays this game is a rank one with that kind of experience. and a lot of the community isn’t at that level of experience where they can counter a doctor easily. it’s just very easy to play him, and very hard to avoid him.
When people mention this "not everyone is that good"-argument, i usually say: Give nurse three blinks and no CD baseline. Not everyone can be that precise with her blinks huh?
You also mentioned that doc is too easy to play. The only part of docs ability that needs no mechanical skill is his static blast. And even that one needs tactical knowledge to get maximum use out of it.
His shock theraphy needs good timing on loops to actually deny you to drop a pallet/vault. You can dodge or DH it if you didn't knew. As if DH is not versatile enough.
-
@megansnotcreative said:
okay this post is probably gonna be a mess bc it’s early and i just lost red ranks to a doctor but..
cmon dude the doctor is literally the definition of broken. he can make people scream & reveal their location, and, without cooldown, can stun the survivor from vaulting or throwing down a pallet, or can bring them into tier 3 madness in only a few seconds.
my first game ever playing killer i got merciless with doctor. that shouldn’t be able to happen that easily.
i don’t even know what id suggest in replacement but tbh anything other than his ability to prevent you from doing things, like vault or throw down pallets. maybe if he had like a cooldown on his shock therapy..? it’s just stupid because he takes no skill and can just prevent someone from doing an action.
Doctor got a one second cooldown on his shock theraphy and it's a non-lethal ability. Got no own videos sadly, but i'll drop two of a content creator here.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XNNnZ7EICcg https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BY1ZnfzJ8VYSo is doc op or you guys just frustrated by BHVar making some killers playable?

I'm gonna guess you were a nurse main
Tbh it didn't really do that much, I bet you play on console cause nurse was so hard to use on console and now even harder, but bhvr did balance her out on pc cause she was way to op in pc
Without addons she was op on pc? Well the cooldown wasnt the right thing then, because she's just a buggy mess right now.

As there are situations where killers camping and tunneling get to abuse these features on survivors playing 100% fair.
How is it any different and why should killers get special treatment?
You mean camping and tunneling? I ignore that both of those playstyles usually end up in a blackpip at best.
You could easily fix DS to work good against camping and tunneling. Just let it work on both hook stages and for two minutes. But unhooking, repairing a gen, entering a locker, healing or doing a totem instantly deactivates DS. The timer is paused while being in the dying state.
This change would only punish really sweaty campers/tunnelers and not fair killers. How bout that instead of sixty seconds invincibility?

@Waffleyumboy said:

Depends on your idea of fair
I give you an example: a person goes down. You hook the person. The person gets saves. You down the survivor that saved the person. You get DSed. Is that somewhat balanced in any way?
-
NOED is just too generic imo. In endgame builds its fine, but everyone just uses it because it's easy to use.

I’m a rank 1 and I miss it quite often. Also not everyone is a “high rank” so what about those people?
I'm rank 1 and i missed it maybe twice after getting to red ranks in 1.5k hours.
Hey lets give nurse three blinks, not everyone is as good as ardetha. See how that sounds?
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
why should the effect have a downside? It is working as intended.
It targets two “free” features that as a killer you can easily abuse: Camping and Tunneling.
So why would a perk that is meant to counter those two features (not perks) need a “downside”?
Because there are a bunch of situations where people get to use their DS on killers that are playing 100% fair?

I know that it triggers if you're not dream state. However, there's a simple work around. Smack the guy whose attempting the unhook, the unhooker is in dream state. If survivor still attempted to unhook the hooked survivor you are then able to down the unhooker and the unhooked hooker quite easily.
Imo BT should work against whether you're in dream state or awake. This is coming from someone who plays Freddy.
They could easily fix this by changing BT to a range requirement like 4-12 metres to counter actual campers.
-
You are able to blink on the stairs and the catwalks, but it requires precise aim with your blinks. Good survivors use that against you, because it's easy counterplay.
And i wouldn't recommend using Plaid Flannel", because it's bugged as hell.
-
If you don't want to slug, i recommend:
Perks: BBQ, Nurses, M&A, I'm all ears
Addons: double cd
It's a simple build combining the advantages of nurses+m&a and I'm all ears for the chase.

Work against any sweaty killer intent on tunneling and slugging for kills. Killers who don't participate in those activities are not bothered by DS, BT or unbreakable. I don't play that way and have never had any issue with any of those perks. The real problem is that instead of being able to run a perk set that is fun or helpful as a survivor you have to run the meta because you are going to face tunnel and slug in every match. If this was not the go to for killers you would see a lot more variety in load-outs.
As killer i really like the chase. So i hook and instantly go for the next chase.
Could you may explain me why i eat a decisive after hooking, chasing, hooking, chasing, picking-up? I'm really sweaty tunneling, camping piece of crap i guess.
Or why a random survivor bodyblocking for the chased survivor got BT? Maybe the TR requirement is badly designed?
Or why people are allowed to delete one of their mistakes in chase with the press on a button? Why can't you give killers a perk that let's them lunge double as wide every sixty seconds. Sounds broken? Called "Dead Hard".
All of these second chance perks (without any skill involved in the scenarios i mentoned) stacked are a free win against any killer (and now the thing you need to realise) REGARDLESS OF THE PLAYSTYLE.

If you're in dream state against Freddy, BT won't trigger.
From someone who plays Freddy (whilst he isn't one of mains) I think BT should work if you are in dream state, as you shouldn't need to camp with Freddy.
And when you're awake? It does trigger against freddy too with the right timing, just how i mentioned in one of my first posts in this thread.
-
On lerys you need four detection perks to win as nurse. I highly recommend "I'm all ears" from Ghostface to end chases quicker on indoor maps.

I only see 1 DS in every 3 matches or so and DH is a little more frequent than that.
But NOED is just everywhere at this point.
I don't mind it, but it is pretty getting boring...
It's the phenomenon that intrigued me.
I see 3-4 DS in every of my killer and survivor matches. I use DS nearly every match myself, because it breaks the momentum of good killers and just makes the endgame easy as f.
Nerf ruin.

Actually BT doesn't work against Freddy (unless it's been changed, I wouldn't know I took a 3 month break).
I play killer at rank 1 (I've often had to prove that I'm a survivor main on these forums due to some of my more killer sided views), I still don't why BT is always mentioned in the same bracket as DS, dead hard, unbreakable, object of obsession etc.
I personally don't have issue with BT as it's the best perk to counter campers. Granted there's a lot of survivors who use it as an excuse farm their fellow survivors off the hook.
EDIT:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1263548#Comment_1263548
Boil over is one the worst survivor perks. That's like saying why don't killers use Monstrous Shrine or mind breaker.
Trust me you don't want to see flip flop as the only survivors that seem to use that are sabo squads. I've lost count the amount of times I've gone against a sabo squad that would borderline hold my killer matches hostage.
Borrowed Time works against every killer that got a TR when attacking. So every killer except mirror michael.
It's just too strong when combined with other second chances.
