It was alright, but after seeing some of the seething reactions from players Its even better.
-
That's a pity. Why is Behavior so afraid to release strong survivor perks? I see this trend for survivors time and time again that's it's a meme at this point.
-
Nice to see another player suggesting solos could benefit from a VGS system that allows them to choose from preset phrases to communicate. Best of luck to you in the fog.

Thing is, that's guaranteed to lead to intentional deranking, which'd screw over the current matchmaking even more. We can clearly see that it's one big mess, but there's definitely no need to make things even worse..
What you're describing sounds like Solo Queue, but that's just the way it is. The higher your MMR goes, the more competitive players you're gonna encounter; Unfortunately, that means even more frequent suicides on the hook, disconnects, tunneling, and camping at the same time. If people would've learned how to play games for fun and don't sweat every little detail, we could be having a lot more fun, you know..
But it isn't news that it has the chance to be intentionally abused. There's always going to be players that try to do that, it's a given but it wouldn't be the majority. A well-implemented vote to surrender option that would at least make it difficult to abuse as it can while also enabling players an option to get out of their match and queue into a new one in a dignified manner. If a game is hopeless then people don't want to waste their time and would rather go onto the next one. that's one of the main reasons people D/C. With a surrender system either D/c and take a long penalty + the ire of your team or just mutually agree to walk away and queue up for the next game.

Make first disconnection a 1 hour timeout, not 5 minutes.
Now I could see 15 or 30-minutes 1st d/c and then 1hr for the second. Then atleast if it is something outside of the player's control the first time the penalty isn't as br00tal.
-
One way the devs could meet us in the middle for this is adding a vote to surrender option for survivors and killers.
-
Does not sit right with me what-so-ever. Especially when in comparison to LoL's prime capsule rewards that gave me enough to get the Beemo skin this month.
-
They could start by giving a hoot about Solos, that'd be the ideal starting point. After that, in all seriousness, status icons (Anyone with time on the forums has seen the status icon image floating around) and an in-game VGS (similar to Smite) for callouts. Just those two changes would work wonders for Death Q. Oh, and revert DS nerf or buff it so it's not insulting.
-
Path of least resistance or something like that

Whatever she's wearing I wish she'd keep a gun and knife on her.
-
Disagree with Otz on some of these too. Deathslinger in B and Legion in C? Interesting. I'd put Dredge in A-tier aswell.
-
Dodging is for chumps. Just suicide on hook in-game.
-
nurse bad
-
I'd be upset, but it's not like most of the prime skins were that good to begin with. At least they are consistent in that regard.
-
Grandma, welcome home.
-
Because I submit to pig supremacy. Bree
-
I'd prefer better matchmaking rather then just randomly nerfing a licensed killer because solos are #########.
-
No pig and no picture of spreadsheet data? I'm out. Thanks for sharing.
-
I wouldn't say they are dead either. They have their use fo getting information via aura reading when stacked with the right add-ons, as others have said. Outside of that their use is situational. I always wish I had one when i'm last survivor but then when I do bring one it never gets used.
-
Just delete them from the game and it'd be a perfect rework.
-
It's not killers being weak that is your problem...
-
I like that they can make good licensing deals for the game and for the most part have a good record maintaining them. Komoney and Capcom couldn't have been easy.
-
If you're going to be toxic just make sure you're good enough to handle everything that comes with it or else you'll wind up twice as mad and humiliated.
-
PSA time
-
As it should be 👏
-
What if dead by daylight got a Netflix adaption. Who would be the protagonist?
-
Simple explanation. You give people an inch and they will take a mile.
-
Reverse Bear Trap. A.K.A. The Party Hat
-
Her traps are alright to me. I'm gonna echo some other members' sentiments and say the focus should be on her Ambush & Crouching mechanic. A few suggestions i'd say are reduce the crouching speed time, increase her crouched movement speed, either make her growl quieter or put it after the ambush bar is filled and during the lunge itself, and reduce the wind-up time on ambush very minimally. I like the idea too of adding another condition that activates RBT other then gens being finished.

Well of course I've seen him. He's me.

How to camp so many boxes?
There are a couple of different ways to do that made available through map design and the a few of the pig's add-ons. Even if that fails you can take a stroll to patrol boxes.

Indeed, I rarely lose to Slinger as well. I genuinely think that he's a strong killer, just most players are simply terrible with him. Kind of like another killer that is extremely strong in chase and gives survivors little counterplay, but many people do not play them much due to the initial learning curve...
So much about doing well with him is very specific to the survivors' playstyle, as well as each individual loop that you are at. That's why I've been having trouble with how to make a guide with him. It the attention to detail and experimentation that makes him strong, it's hard to paint broad strokes and give general advice with him other than "do more mindgames".
He also has very strange perk synergies, so he does well with unusual perks like Deathbound and Trail of Torment.
Agreed, especially the part on the learning curve. I get exactly what you mean. I actually recall a match many many moons ago with a Slinger (post-nerf) in Lunar outfit who knew exactly how to do that all that. He wouldn't even have to chase you through a loop cause he'd be right there at the window waiting for you to pass the narrowest junction where he'd get your ass. Very quick to predict survivor loop patterns so my team had to really think about how we approached each loop if we were gonna have a chance at escaping. Easily one of the most memorable games because it just had all the qualities of a classic and it was a tooth and nail fight. You could tell this was someone who had been playing Slinger for awhile, just terrific game sense all-around.

Slinger is still extremely strong. He can shoot over most obstacles, hit people around corners, and shoot through the walls in a lot of situations where Huntress and Trickster could only dream of getting a hit. Vaulting a window while Slinger has LoS is always a guaranteed hit, and many loops are still extremely dangerous even with the pallet dropped. Not to mention the fact that he makes mind-games extremely rewarding since all he needs is LoS.
I need to make a guide on him lol
You might need to cause I can't remember the last time I lost to Slinger. Even facing some in the very few matches i've done post 6.1.0. I know killers like Trapper, Sadako, Trickster, Myers, Clown, and Pig might be some people's go-to choices, but to me even they don't feel as punishing and unsatisfying to play as DS. Compared to those other ranged killers, Deathslinger has way more limitations and gets punished more for missing. His ADS and FOV are whack and he can't down over pallet or if he's not close enough to a window. Does not necessarily mean he is an awful killer, just not enjoyable to me as he is to others.
-
Deathslinger. He just has the least redeemable features to me. They absolutely gutted Caleb.

Ah, ooof, okay that's completely fair why you might not want it haha.
EDIT: bet he wasn't happy after the fact hahaha
For sure. I understand getting caught up in the hype, but sheesh. Meanwhile I'm over here like....
-
There are definitely some challenges in these tomes that will make you question if the devs are trolling. I typically avoid those for that very reason.
-
I literally had a FNAF fan try to argue with me in VC that there was no way it wouldn't be Springtrap during the Hellraiser teasers. After listening to that for awhile I can see why other people are also against including it.

Same with dredge it seems nobody has mentioned him anymore. I don’t understand why none talks about dredge he’s even more forgotten then Artist.
We're just containing our excitement to avoid drawing too much attention on Dredge. Trying to avoid the nerf bat on our beloved. Mum's the word.

Not the gates, I mean the hatch. I timed it perfectly so that they guy would be dommed, turns out he just went for hatch. Apparently its always been the case, makes zero sense to me
Because of balancing. Pig would literally just have to camp the boxes and the last survivor wouldn't have any hope of having a means to escape at all if she could do that. Just a lose-lose situation. As much as I love Amanda, she does not need the ability to block every single means of exit because that'd be OD and there's almost no way to stop that in a 1v1 vs last surv.
-
Barnacles
-
You can't. Do you have a video of someone going through the gates with an active trap? I've never seen that happen with an active RBT unless it's an escape through hatch which is a whole different animal than the gates

My top picks for licenses are probably (in no particular order)
- Supernatural chapter (Winchsters and probably a Demon who can posses survivors briefly as the killer)
- The Thing - Arctic base as the map, McReady as the survivor, and The Thing as the shapeshifting killer. (Probably would have two forms, one an Undetectable human form that moves like a survivor and can maybe sabotage generators and props, and a tentacled monster when directly chasing and attacking)
- It - Pennywise and the Derry sewers as the map, or part of the town itself at night. There have been some near concept pieces for Pennywise in DbD so this one could be great if it ever happens. 🙂
- Phantasm - The Tall Man, aka the Pinball Wizard, as the killer and his mortuary as the map. Not as well known as some others but a real underdog classic horror movie with a killer that would definitely fit the game to a tee!
- Jaws or Tremors - I know, Jaws is the joke entry, but I would unironically buy that chapter instantly if it meant jump out from the water or ground to snap at survivors. 😄 Or if you want a “landshark” version go with Tremors
- Final Destination - This one is my pipedream entry that’ll never happen. You would play as an invisible avatar of Death and manipulate the environment and props to damage and kill the survivors. Mechanically it would be a nightmare to develop but, man, if they figured out how to do it I could imagine that sort of things being really fun and unique.
- The Shining - More as a map pack than for the killer (Jack’s just a guy with an axe). But the hotel and topiary maze could make for really cool maps!
- Event Horizon - One of my favorite horror movies of all time, the ship could be a really cool map.
- Alien - Nuff said, lots of people would go wild for an Alien chapter if it ever happened.
- American Horror Story - It feels like there should be something from this series that fits the game, but since every season is very different it’s hard to narrow down what specifically should be in the chapter, other than maybe The Gimp being the killer since he’s in I think all the seasons? 🤷♂️
- Scarecrow - Of all the comic book characters Scarecrow from Batman is the one I think would be the most fun who also really fits the horror motif. I can picture his ability basically being kind of like a cross between Clown and Doctor where he gasses survivors and they have bizarre hallucinations. It could even have fun bits where certain parts of the environment change or illusions are added based on the realm, like evil Scarecrows hanging in the cornfields. I suspect thought his is a video game license that’s almost impossible to get for DbD so oh well, can’t have everything!
- It Follows - Part of me thinks it would be terrible as a video game, but part of me hopes it would be really interesting if they could figure out a way to make a slow moving but very hard to detect killer fun to play. Scratched Mirror Meyers is already one of my favorites, this would be a bit like that but even slower and more invisible.
Scarecrow is easily one of my favorite Batman villians, but for some reason Scarecrow from the 2002 film was the first thing that popped in my head. Movies were kinda meh but a good way to kill a few hours.

You get my vote Sephiroth and cloud would be interesting on how they would set them up in this game, you could pick another person for the survivor but cloud just fits it to well and the whole lore behind it could even do aeris as a second survivor.
I like it. I mean we already got an AoT crossover, why not Final Fantasy?
-
They want to elicit a reaction for their satisfaction. Now that doing good as killer is easier than beating a Pokémon game it's like having a field day.

Nah, it should be hidden for everyone
Just like rank wasn't tied to skill, prestige is exactly the same and shouldn't be shown to anyone.
It's funny though seeing that BHVR repeats every time the same "mistakes" when there is a chance
Came here to say exactly this. Like, haven't we seen this movie before? In the end it's all meaningless and just gives people fuel for their assumptions about other players in the lobby.
-
- Sephiroth
- The Gentleman from Buffy
- Praetorian Predalien
-
This was an oversight. How did they not think killers would use it to dodge lobbies? Didn't notice the date on this one. Holy Necro.
