I think the only good and possible counterplay option is to make survivors see the animation as spirit channels, but reduce the channel time, so she can sometimes be sneaky and catch a survivor off-guard.
-
Why shouldn't scratch mirror also make him completely immune to detection perks?
This way, only scratched mirror would be affected by that and not all the builds. He can stalk pretty easily even if the survivor has spine chill to get EW2.
-
I like this rework but there are some things that should be changed.
The vaulting duration got increased for what reason? There are no add-ons that decrease the fatigue duration and i don't like the nasty blade, filthy blade and cold dirt.
Nasty and Filthy Blade: I don't like them because are not that useful, people can simply mend and you have a useless add-ons. If these are made to counter the "ignore mending to do gens" strat this seems like a band aid fix and add-ons shouldn't be band-aid fixes.
Cold Dirt: This should apply on the first hit. It's only 45 seconds so it's no big deal.
The vaulting duration would feel SOOOOOOOO much sluggish if it got increased to 1.5 seconds. 1.35 is already a lot and so sluggish that 1.5 seems crazy to me. The power gets more speed, which leads even more to that sluggishness.
I know that there are add-ons that reduce the vault duration and they wouldn't make legion OP if they were kept with the same percentages imo.
-
As a Legion main i think that this theme can fit well within the legion's concept. Either way I think that the chase music is quite repetitive, but in a different way, it needs some tone in the middle that is missing.
But overall it is really good yeah, i would like it in dbd.
-
I just ended a game where a ash got out of my shoulder 4 times because there was no hook in half of the map (mother's dwelling) and there was just 1 sacrificed survivor. So i didn't corner myself.
WHAT THE ######### IS THIS #########
My levels of sault have increased from 0 to 90k

Still sounds the same to me, is a watered down version of the old legion.
Also vault times too big to hit a survivor is nonsense, the survivor has nowhere to go while you vault but continuing looping the pallet, but unless you got a really short pallet you will still get them.
For example, imagine a LT wall. The survivor vaults and then you vault and, because you're a 4.4 killer, he can get to the other vault in time.
It can work on some, and not work on others. But still, from a fun perspective and after thinking about it again, I don't think this is good. The power will feel sluggish when vaulting.
-
I agree with @TheRoyalOwl and i want to add that suffering a 4 second cooldown is no child's play.
I think this power has a good potential, but not like this. Being only used from time to time doesn't seem the greatest idea from a fun perspective (and probably competitive too).
People want to give feral frenzy too many downsides.
Examples in this rework:
- The power ends, 4 seconds fatigue and you lose the survivor. 2 TREMENDOUS downsides.
- Same for missing
- You can't cancel the power
- You are a 4.4 killer
- You vault something and the power loses everything
- 18 seconds cooldown(used from times to times doesn't make it fun, its just an m1 killer like they are now) oh, wait. They are 4.4 now
- The vault timers are too big to give legion enough chance to hit the survivor
- Now you have no detection like you had before
Now that i put some thought into it, it doesn't seem that much better.

FF does not show blood pools or scratch marks so you do not randomly find Survivors you don't know are that when using FF for traversal. You are meant to have to make a concious decision to trigger FF to get someone you can see, or to traverse the map.
If someone is out in the open and you see them, whatever, that's their fault. :D
I think that this idea makes no sense in multiple ways.
1st: Legion's power without add-ons does NOT help you traversing the map, you actually get more distance by simply walking.
2nd: Why so many restrictions for a power that isn't lethal and has a really bad time catching survivors?
3rd: Having almost no restrictions in feral frenzy is what made pre-patch legion fun. Having almost no restrictions is very different from having no counterplay. Either way, the exploits and frank's mixtape needed to go.
4th: How can it be expected for a player to have fun with a power with a lot of restrictions, being able to use it from ages to ages. People might as well play clown, at least he is a pure m1 killer (like legion 90% of the time of all matches) with bottles in the mix.
Sorry if i was rude in any point.
This is my opinion and the opinion of some people in this discussion, I believe.

Seriously guys, SWF crack me up. I camped when 3 of them where around the hook and I chased and injured them and going after the unhooker. Then I tunnelled because the DS of one guy wasn't fully run out when he was downed and he also missed it. I hit him after hitting another one, when he crossed my path.
So no matter what a Killer does, many Survivors will always blame the Killer and never look at their mistakes.
Same happened to me a lot of times. I once had a guy that used deliverance right behind me and i downed him and he said i tunneled him. What am i supposed to do? Ignore the fact that you unhooked yourself right behind me? HELL NO!
Yesterday people told me that i camped them when there were 2 people close to the hook and one of them was crouching in the grass right in front of me, expecting me to be 200% blinded.
The worst part is that the survivors that complain about it for no reason are the worst ones playing.

and now for an idea from @NuclearBurrito !
Though I would again like to point out that the legion fix specifically is solely geared towards fixing his balance issues and thus is not the best overall fix.
Now for the fix
These changes are all meant to go together:
- M1 attacks no longer drain Frenzy at all
- Killers can see the deep wounds bar draining
- Deep wounds prevents preforming channeled actions besides mending and unhooking
- Frenzy moves at 5.4 M/S
- Frenzy window vault speed is now 0.9 seconds and pallet vault speed is now 1.1 seconds.
- Fatigue time is reduced by 0.5 seconds per Survivor hit in a single Frenzy (without DW).
- Frenzy base fatigue time reduced to 3 seconds (thus the minimum fatigue is 1 second if you hit all 4)
- Frenzy cooldown is reduced to 15 seconds
M1 attack draining his power never made sense. Still doesn't
Killer seeing DW means Legion is now better at tracking and it punishes not mending.
Preventing channeled actions further punishes not mending.
Increase Frenzy speed and vault speed means he's more likely to get chain hits. DW still is extremely unlikely to down and such this isn't problematic.
Fatigue time being reduced by chain hits (default is still 4) means he has an actual method of downing Survivors. Hit them all and then M1 the last one with a very small to nonexistent fatigue for a relatively easy down.
Addon changes:
- Pins - The change about working on first hit happens
- Friendship bracelet/Never sleep pills/Susie's Mixtape - Increase terror radius during Feral Frenzy by 4/6/8 meters (gives them more perk synergy)
- Franks Mixtape - Hitting a Survivor with Deep Wounds inflicts Oblivious for 15 seconds
- Fuming Mixtape - Also increases Frenzy Duration by 3 seconds
- Julies Mixtape - Slightly increase Frenzy movement speed (+0.1 M/S)
- Joes Mixtape/Cold dirt - Considerably/Tremendously the time required to refill the power gauge
Pins are being changed anyways. No reason not to support this.
KI addons now synergise better with perks related to this stuff
Franks now causes DW to drain over time for a bit and gives it more utility, while also making sure it doesn't stack with itself due to the new Cold Dirt AND means it can effectively do more "damage" without being abusable (shortest time to down possible is 30 seconds which is longer than what you want)
The fatigue addons needed to be change due to the new fatigue mechanic only working at specific values. Having addons effect them would make it much harder to balance, thus making them effect other things such as cooldowns and speed solves the issue.
Honestly, this is the only 4.6m/s legion change that i like, but i would add some things
Feral frenzy should be available to cast at 50% of the bar. This way, the power becomes more flexible.
Also, why do you want franks mixtape and stab wounds study if you cant down someone by deep wounds?
Even though i like this idea, feral frenzy should be lethal by itself imo. There is no better feeling in this game than rushing a survivor down with feral frenzy.
Edit: I've read franks mixtape wrong and now that i get it it doesnt seem like a healthy add on at all. I think it needs change, but not that change that survivors are on a timer to go down and they cant do anything about it (old legion again with this add on).

Makes perfect sense to me. I really hope they work with this part of Legion when they look at them... though now mending isnt just Legion. Deep wound, as far as I understand it, is supposed to be a gash so bad that you have to keep pressure on it to keep it from making you bleed out. That's why I get so confused when I see it's such a nonthreat. I think this is a good idea to fix it, for sure.
This change doesn't solve the freddy oblivious effect. But that is something that is meant to be like it is now.
I think that deep wounds should be legion only and borrowed time should be changed to another effect. I mean, they can have similar effects but should have different names and coloured bars. Like the old grey one to borrowed time and the new orange one to legion.
Borrowed time should work like it is now and legion's deep wounds should be like i described in this post. What do you think?

Oh yeah, true enough. I like your idea for mending. I've never understood why it was such a nonthreat. You are literally bleeding out.
The changes were rushed and seemed to be good but they forgot that the power is very restricted. I also thought it was good at the moment, until i saw the actual numbers and my soul disappeared.
Terror radius is a very bad mechanic to base an ability that can down you in a matter of seconds, specially when dark devotion, tinkerer and now the oblivious effect mess with your terror radius completely.
Also, it is more threatening when the timer starts ticking down when out of chase because it causes mental pressure. Now, you get deep wounded and you don't give a damn about it, you're relaxed and cool. With this change, at least you have to maintain m1 pressed so you don't fall. This won't be very used, unless someone tries to moonwalk you.

You can do generators while not even caring about being in deep wounds, for as long as legion is around you. Also, you have 30 seconds + 15 by mending + X seconds that can go from +/- 6 to the entire game, that you are in their terror radius. I know the entire game is kinda unrealistic, but just to know that it can be a possibility, even in the smallest case is very sad.
Maybe i didn't express myself that well, but you can get the point now.

Even streamers like Puppers and Monto agree that the Legion needs a full power rework since his power is literally garbage after his nerfs. You hate to see it.
You don't need a complete rework, but their power needs a partial rework.
You can fix their power like this:
To maintain their old game style (that preserved their identity), you need to separate frenzy in 2 parts so it is easier to balance and it doesn't become overpowered/underpowered.
My idea is to make the power have a fixed status/mechanics like it has now ONLY when you tap the button, BALANCED AROUND DOWNING SURVIVORS. Then, when you apply deep wounds on a survivor, those fixed status/mechanics receive a buff or a change that makes chaning hits more easier. This maintains the spreading hits gamestyle and feral frenzy is able to down survivors maintaining the rushdown gamestyle.
And give frenzy interactions with injured and exposed survivors.
The numbers, mechanics and counterplay are up to the devs.

Oh i see more what you mean now... that's a good idea for balancing it while keeping the playstyle we love.
I've made a cool list about legion's power.
These are the downsides:
- Doesn't work to down survivors.
- To chase.
- To get information far away.
- Against spreaded survivors.
- Has a huge penalty.
- Is slow so some loops can be loopable when using feral frenzy.
- A stun takes you out.
- A missed hit takes you out.
- Hitting someone twice makes nothing and drops the power.
- Doesn't do anything against injured or exposed survivors.
- Doesn't help you patrol generators because you go further by just walking.
- Has a huge punishment in the end.
- You can't see blood pools.
- You can't see cratch marks.
- Makes your screen blurred so you easily miss a survivor when fatiguing.
- Partially deafens you.
- Has a 24 second cooldown.
- Your vision is turned down a little making it harder to see survivors.
- And there are white lines in the screen to seem that you go fast (and in reallity you are not going).
- Feels bad to use due to their uselessness and sluggishness.
- You won't use it in the end game because you can't down people, it will be just used in very specific situations.
- Isn't flexible, needs a full power bar to be activated.
- When you miss a hit you lose all the pressure that you had.
- Hitting someone while out of feral frenzy takes 50% of the bar.
- Mending can be completely ignored by survivors.
- Mending is annoying to play against
The are the upsides:
- Hit multiple survivors when they are VERY close to each other and you don't miss or are stunned or hit someone twice.
- You see survivors that are around you.
- Make them mend so they waste15 seconds of their time.
- You can have a first hit, but it is not easy.
As you can see it is worth to use their power 100% *BEING VERY VERY SARCASTIC
-

Oh i see more what you mean now... that's a good idea for balancing it while keeping the playstyle we love.
Exactly, make legion a balanced killer both while in chase and in spreading hits and takes them out of that "change something and they become op or too bad".
The changes they made were rushed and the consequences weren't that thoughtful. They restricted so much the best part of a killer: their power. The power has almost no use in game and isn't even fun to use.
-
@PolarBear said:
This doesn't change much. If you're in a chase for the full 80% seconds, 3 seconds doesn't matter at all unlike now where the survivor needs to, at some point, go through the full mend whether or not the Legion chased them or not. It would just be easier to reduce the mend time so survivors have to mend earlier in fear of accidentally leaving the Legion's terror radius and going down.
That would make the "no terror radius frank's mixtape" legion op and unfun to play against because you will go down if legion hits the obsession and then hits you.
Terror radius is a bad mechanic to base an ability that lets you down a survivor because there are so many perks that can maniputalte it that makes it too OP sometimes. So i think that what you propose isn't a good option.
-
@Saitamfed said:
Mending in-chase even passively it's a bad idea even if it's capped. I would change that if you mend yourself then it takes more time (you mend yourself at 50%) than if another survivor mends you. At the moment there is no difference between those two.
I specifically said that you can only mend while running "OUT OF CHASE".

I love Legion. I love the feeling of that Rush down chase of the survivor... but I don't love that I can be looped in my power easily, that if auto aim messes me up I'm doomed, that I get DS'ed every time My power ends. It's so punishing to even TRY to do the thing that makes Legion fun.... But, I really hope they listen. They need more than just add-ons.... they need help that KEEPS the Rush Down playstyle.
I love the rush down play style, but it needed the counterplay. And that counterplay is really far from what happened to them.

The Old Legion was bad. Even without the exploit. But Yes, if you are a Legion main as well, then I understand more where you are coming from. Now That I think about it, i've seen you in my thread. Cool... also I am glad that is more than just me that plays for Legion. They brought me back after 2016-2017 times.
That being said they need help. No Killer should make you feel like that one guy in an anime that takes his weighted clothes off while saying "I'm sorry Master, I must go all out this one time." WHEN YOU PICK SOMEONE ELSE.
Legion's power actively works against them at this point. I do better without using it alot.
Exactly, i see a lot of people saying that legion isn't the worst killer atm, but yes clown, wraith or leatherface.
My point of view is: all those killers have a tool to help them to finalize a survivor. Yes, with legion you can have a first hit, if you dont get hit by a pallet, miss a hit, lose the survivor or they loop you in an unloopable pallet/window.
Basically, when you are playing legion, you play as a killer without a power. You pretty much rather play leatherface, doctor, wraith or clown that can somehow help you in chases and they can have very easy first hits too. Yeah, you get information with legion's power, but that doesn't help you at all if you can't down someone and progress the game as killer. They can have stall potential, but they can't progress the game on their side.
I like to put it in these terms. Imagine legion being a killer that his ability is wallhack on the entire map, but can't attack. If you think about it, it's pretty much the same and is ridiculous.

Hmm, but if the mending pauses it, then wouldn't that still mean they can just wait till it's almost gone, then mend?
You can do that, yes. But you can only do like 10% of a gen at best, while with the terror radius change you can make an entire generator without mending.
This is the old deep wounds when legion came out but without the exploit. So it is as threatening as before, but cant be exploited. Simple as that.

You can 99% a mend then go to a gen, then complete it when it gets low now. I've seen people do this as I play Legion almost exclusively. I think a good change for it would be that you have to mend before you do anything. I mean, I don't want to work on a gen while MY SIDE IS CUT OPEN AND PUMPING BLOOD.
You cant, because the timer will go down when you are not mending, and the distance to the killer doesnt matter.
-
@UlvenDagoth said:
Yes, this doesnt seem like it will make DW more threatening and it seems like it wont do anything. Sorry, But I can't see the point.
This makes it a threat because the deep wound timer is a priority now that it starts to go down right when legion stops the chase on you going after someone else. This threatens that you WILL go down if you start to do something else besides mending. It doesn't completely remove the capability of doing a generator, but surely shortens it by a lot.
Right now, you can simply do a gen with deep wounds, for as long as legion is chasing someone within 32 meters from you. With these changes, this isnt possible either.
NOTE: This is a copypaste of what i've written for the guy that has the same question.

Yes, I wish they did anything about legion. I liked the old legion and rarely used exploit. STABSTABSTAB, ah, good old times.
I just used the exploit once to test it and because a survivor was being toxic, so i thought it was the right time to do it. It was the most boring thing ever. Either way, legion just needed a fix, not a nerf.

Sounds nice. It would fix the moonwalk exploit and buff the old legion. Which surely needed buffs without that or knives exploit
If devs manage to make legion's power lethal and with the proper counterplay, this would be an even more threatening change.

Oh yeah i know it's supposed to be a time waster. It's just you said:
So my idea is to make deep wounds more threatening and not counterproductive with legion.
It improves the game that deep wounds is threatening,
And i just don't see those suggestion do any of those.
It isn't counterproductive and i've explained why in the post.
It's more threatening because the timer starts ticking down when legion leaves you and not when they are really far away.
Either way, if devs manage to make legion's power lethal and with the proper counterplay, this would be an even more threatening change.
What im doing here is how deep wounds should be from the beggining, but withou the exploit that the devs didn't know that players could do.
