Legion rework idea from "TheDBDCoach"

https://youtu.be/Ov4TDvphaQg

As a Legion main I'd absolutely love to test out these changes. As of right now Legion is for the most part a slowdown killer with good information gathering potential with nothing to help shorten a chase. Not many people likes playing against Legion with a team that isn't that optimal and keeps getting hit over and over again, the game can get slowed down to a snail pace even when the killer isn't downing people fast (which we all know survivors despise things that slow the game down). Playing as him isn't really fun either, you just keep injuring people over and over again until you down the last guy you find or you fight an optimal team that puts Legion's mediocrity on full display.

About the changes themselves I'll summarize it incase you don't wanna watch the video. 110% 6 second power duration with a 5.4 mps speed and no scratch marks or blood, when you hit someone the power ends and they become injured or if they're injured it downs them, if you miss the hit, get stunned, or the power runs out you get the 4 second fatigue, if you vault a pallet or a window (current vault speed) the power will end but you won't have to suffer the 4 second fatigue. When you hit a survivor in frenzy instead of the 4 second fatigue you just get the blade wipe.

Basically the power goes from pure stall (which is boring for both sides after a while) to actually lethal but instead of old Frank's it's not brainless and has counterplay.

Comments

  • To clarify this is not my idea, if you have any suggestions (I did) you can go to the video and comment your opinion and there's a high chance he'll answer any questions you have. I wanted to post this to give this guy a better chance at being heard because right now I don't think anyone seriously loves new Legion for more than 4 games.

  • So bloodlust 2 the power? Kinda boring.

Is having no power during chase fun?

  • To put this power into perspective here is a scenario.

Meg is at a Generator and sees Legion coming towards her. she runs to the pallet on her right inbetween two walls and Legion activates FF. She turns left but Legion can't see scratchmarks and guesses right, he loses her and in a few seconds his power runs out and he gets a stun. Meg is gone, she sneaks away.

Later on David is out in the open and Legion uses FF to charge at him and slaps him upside the head, Legion wipes his blade and keeps chasing. David gets to a pallet injured and as time goes on David drops the pallet and thinks Legion will break it but Legion activates FF and just hops over it then smacks him down onto the ground. David saw Legion raise his knife as he activated FF and knew he could jump the pallet, he could have ran and continued the loop knowing he could get smacked and once he vaulted the Pallet Legion wouldn't be able to do that again for 18 seconds. But he just stood there and took the hit like a #########.

This ability is kind of like Pig's Dash except it has no charge and if you miss you get a 4 second stun. It allows you to jump over a pallet or window with no stun and if you do hit then just like Pig you just wipe your weapon. Imagine Pig using her Dash without needing to crouch first or charge it up and that's this.

I think this is powerful, it doesn't have any depth or slow down but the power is dangerous and has counterplay.

  • The current power is more fun than this.

  • I actually just realized how busted this power is.

Because there is no cooldown after vaulting you can literally just vault and hit, the survivor. So there is no mind game you just win the chase after about 20 seconds, which is exactly why old legion was changed.

  • I agree with @TheRoyalOwl and i want to add that suffering a 4 second cooldown is no child's play.

I think this power has a good potential, but not like this. Being only used from time to time doesn't seem the greatest idea from a fun perspective (and probably competitive too).

People want to give feral frenzy too many downsides.

    Examples in this rework:

    • The power ends, 4 seconds fatigue and you lose the survivor. 2 TREMENDOUS downsides.
    • Same for missing
    • You can't cancel the power
    • You are a 4.4 killer
    • You vault something and the power loses everything
    • 18 seconds cooldown(used from times to times doesn't make it fun, its just an m1 killer like they are now) oh, wait. They are 4.4 now
    • The vault timers are too big to give legion enough chance to hit the survivor
    • Now you have no detection like you had before

Now that i put some thought into it, it doesn't seem that much better.

  • I think it would be much more appropriate to add a secondary charge attack to Legion's FF that can take away a survivor's health state. Leave everything else alone and they could be a fun killer to play and face given the right charge time

Still sounds the same to me, is a watered down version of the old legion.

Also vault times too big to hit a survivor is nonsense, the survivor has nowhere to go while you vault but continuing looping the pallet, but unless you got a really short pallet you will still get them.

For example, imagine a LT wall. The survivor vaults and then you vault and, because you're a 4.4 killer, he can get to the other vault in time.

It can work on some, and not work on others. But still, from a fun perspective and after thinking about it again, I don't think this is good. The power will feel sluggish when vaulting.

  • You guys have a point about the vault speed how in some places it's no bueno, someone brought up the same point in a comment on the video and he realized it's a little too slow and can be helped with addons, not to mention Bamboozle with the power would be good.

  • Yamaoka's haunting 2. more visibility, less vault safety nets.

Can we try to keep the tracker aspect of Legion? It's not like there is a shortage of good chasers.
