  • Blood Echo + Fearmonger on Plague

    No CoH. No Dead Hard.

Then you should consider to bring Kindred if this is a big problem for you. Everything that helps coordination in solo q is worth bringing.

I often bring Kindred, but the others are not sure if the killer is just camping outside the 16m aura range, so I bring Open Handed to help with this.

The problem is that when others are hooked I'm pretty good at stealthing around killers while I can see their aura from Kindred + Open Handed. This means I'm less likely to end up on the hook, so Kindred + Open Handed goes to waste; especially if I lose the hatch stand-off and die first hook.

  • If killers in play-testing abuse this perk by camping outside of the basement and then going down into the basement 40 seconds after hooking, just to lock survivors out of the basement and force the hooked survivor to the next hook stage, then consider pausing the sacrifice progression for those 20 seconds.

Also have the perk disable once the survivor is unhooked, so that the perk does not trap them and their rescuer down there with the killer.

  • @fulltonon said:

"basement camping" is almost theme of the game, if you gonna punish it basement might as well not exist.

Stopping the survivors from doing generators is the bigger theme of the game. If you're gonna cheese a kill instead of pressuring gens then get fogged

  • Or... You could wait until the unhook and then go back to the basement.

If you're going to sit down there and camp, or patrol down the stairs, then get stuck down there for 20 seconds while the others slam gens...

No that would kill the game. Killers already move faster then survivors and as they gain bloodlust they go faster. All a stamina system would do would make exhaustion perks useless and/or Survivors wouldn't be able to run because they used their exhaustion perk.

Bloodlust does nothing for the killer vaulting windows, and it's lost after each pallet break. Bloodlust only works vs noobs or in dead zones without windows. It hardly ever helps

It only affects the wiggle timer (well, beside the fact that it's a progression bar and not an actual timer).

    https://i.postimg.cc/RZhbGHyX/mad-grit.png

Then Mad Grit should not stop the animation of the Survivor wiggling

  • @Predated said:

Thats intended mechanics, only the progression of the wiggling stops, the wiggle animation still continues.

Mad Grit stops them from wiggling. Their wiggle effects should be nullified since they are not wiggling.

If a survivor chooses not to wiggle, the killer is not affected by Boil Over. This means the Boil Over mechanic is bugged.

Problem with Nurse is if she is good then is pointless to play because you really cant do much against her unless you get one of the great maps, if she is bad then is pointless to play too because its going to be a 5 minutes 4 escape with MAYBE one or two hooks, usually there is no middle ground.

Overall Nurse makes games extremely boring because either you stomp or get stomped and both situations are not very stimulating, I rarely complain if people go AFK/DC/suicide against her, especially if Survivor queue is instant also I rarely unhook the suiciders, if they dont want to play a doomed game I wont force them to stay.

Problem with M1 Killers is if the survivors are good then it is pointless to play because you really can't do much against them unless you get one of the better maps. If the survivors are bad then it is also pointless because it's going to be a 5-minute 4-kill with MAYBE one or two gens done. There's rarely any middle ground.

Difference is that M1 Killers are far more likely to face good survivors than survivors facing good Nurses.

if the hatch is no problem why was it changed to benefit the killer? the key is useless and not fun anymore.

Unless the hatch spawned between both (nearby) Exits, the Killer cannot camp all three.

If the Killer camps the hatch, go for the exit gate.

If the Killer patrols the exit gates and the hatch, then get 1 red light on one of the exit gates, and sneak back toward hatch. You should have enough time to open the hatch with the key while the Killer thoroughly checks the Exit with lights.

  • I've only mained Onryo the past week and will say that bodyblocking can still be effective.

    • It can put Onryo on the wrong set of tracks if the target breaks line of sight with Iron Will.
    • It forces Onryo to Demanifest:
      • Making it easier for the target to vault windows without the worry of getting hit.
      • Making it easier for the target to loop a pallet because Onryo can still get stunned in the back by the bodyblocker.

I wish that she could carry survivors while demanifested to stop the more obnoxious bodyblocks.

I think the no collision is a good thing and should remain. Ye the lullaby is dumb agree but she doesnt need an anti loop, she is not supposed to be an anti loop killer. I dont see any problem with her height hoenstly, also ye with my idea there would be an reason to use TVs. Tv spawn logic is a pretty sure a bug. And the emergence is actually fine imo, atleast idk what to do against that.

Again keep in mind that just like Clown or Doctor her power is not designed to be strong, she is just an stealth killer which you should view more as a fun killer, not a comp killer.

Fun killer? Not a comp killer?

Then "just for fun" killers should have their SBMM rating capped to keep them away from competitive survivors if they're not going to balance them.

  • @SuzuKR said:

What exactly do you want buffed?

Nurse. The console version of Nurse.

  • *Puts on killer costume*

Yeah! The Onryo is really good as is! She does not need anymore buffs... and this is coming from not-a-survivor

  • No, not until they add a Terminator.

If they add FNAF first then a Terminator killer has less chance because "we already have a robotic killing machine in the game, Springtrap."

  • Not much you can do while spending Bloodpoints or changing perks and addons, but if you're simply queued and waiting you can choose Customize and select a Charm slot to replace her with a hook and not be jump-scared at all. (This also works for noisy killers like Demogorgon and Oni.)

  • @Tr1nity said:

MMR is a failure, I have 500 hours and played against someone with 15000.

    A) I have 7,837 hours between Steam and Xbox and I'm trash at survivor, so hours doesn't always equate to skill (or escape/kill rate).

    B) Maybe you were queued for so long that the game decided to get you in a match, even if it was against someone with better or worse rating.

    C) Maybe you had a full lobby of players at your rating and one of them left the lobby. At that point, matchmaking will back-fill that empty slot with a fast match, not a quality match.

  • Beast of Prey I

    Dark Devotion II

    Surveillance I

  • Agreed.

*Buys Onryo to scare survivors, but gets jumpscared instead while messing with Loadout and spending points*

*Projects to a TV to confuse the survivor, but gets disoriented and wastes the speed boost while the survivor is given a clear directional audio cue and already doubled back*

They may as well have waited and released this chapter on April 1...

  • @Ooga said:

    1) Take away the (Self Care) ability for all team mates except those running CoH.

No one perk should give everyone on the team a free perk slot. And healing should be done by other teammates, first-aid kits, or your own perks.

that would also stop all the tool boxes I see in every match.

    2) boons should be visible to the killer after 60 seconds

    that would give counter play

Even just showing the aura of all totems when a Boon is blessed into existence would be a start

  • I also experienced this on Midwich. I figured the survivors burnt several Oak offerings to make hooks few and far between, but I paused the game and saw no such offering(s).

It was the bottom floor for me as well. An extra hook spawned in the middle courtyard, but carrying survivors out of the rooms, down the hallways to the doors which lead to the courtyard took way too long and they would wiggle free.

  • The RPD Map needs to be split up into 4 different variants:

    • Only the East Wing (top and bottom) and central room
    • Only the West Wing (top and bottom) and central room (These two wing variants would be similar to The Game map)
    • Only the bottom floor (both wings) and central room
    • Only the top floor (both wings) and central room (These two floor variants would be similar to Azarov's Resting Place)

I never played FNAF. But what i saw looks nice - i think it could be a nice chapter, so i have no problems with it.

And if the fans like it.

    Never played the game either.

When I said I wanted a robotic killing machine in DbD, I meant something like the T-1000, not the animatronic from Chuck'E Cheese...

But COH doesn't incentivize it more in the sense that the perk doesn't cause the camp/tunnel. Atleast no more then the current reasons people cry that they have to camp or tunnel. To an extent the perk itself can kinda be used as a tracking instrument for the killer. if you injure multiple survivors and you know where the boon is then you know where to go and find them

The only good thing (for killers) about Circle of Healing is it makes the weak Broken status effect slightly more valuable and effective.

Honestly confused at why Forced Penance's punishment is no worse than the small downside that comes with a bunch of survivor perks.

  • Everytime a survivor heals with Circle of Healing, it should eventually extinguish the boon. That, and boons snuffed by killers should take longer and longer to re-bless each time. Either go find a new totem or spend the extra time blessing the same one over and over.

    There. Fixed.

  • You have to hit & run to apply pressure across multiple surv-- wait... Circle of Healing exists.

Yes. That 3 gens gone after 1 chase is exactly how the devs want every match to play out. Carry on... /s

  • I'm hearing "Random. Chaotic. All over the place. Hit or miss..."

Sounds just like the old matchmaking where Red ranks meant any "skill" level, so why get rid of SBMM?

Improve it? Sure. Go back to the old matchmaking? Pass.

  • Same.

Now, I just choose Customize and select a Charm slot while I'm queued. Spending points or changing her loadout's still a gamble though.

I bought her in the hopes of making Dead By Daylight scary again; just didn't think killers would be the only ones scared by her.

  • ⬜️ Other

When playing Sadako, the Killer should not be sent to Mount Ormond three times in a row! (Map offering, chance, chance).

I just hit Iridescent rank for the first time since the SBMM / Ranked changes were made, and immediately lost it because three miserable matches in a row.

Edit: Cowshed after that (by chance). FML...

2nd Edit: Mount Ormond again (no map offering)...

Ormond, Ormond, Ormond, Cowshed, Ormond. Do the devs want me to uninstall the game??

  • I like Onryo better than other M1 killers. Demanifesting to walk through survivors frees up a perk slot since I no longer need Forced Penance to (help, a little bit, maybe, on occassion) shut down body-blocking spam.

  • If they ever decide to delete Nurse for good, Dead Hard should go with it. Balance

  • If you're having fun playing the game, you have very little reason to come into the forums to complain.

If the majority of posts are killers complaining, it sounds like the game's in the survivors' favor.

  • ⬜️ Dead Hard

    3 health states is overpowered.

  • The 10s of incapacitated means that survivors cannot tank a hit while the killer's carrying and use the speed boost to get to the hook and sabotage it before the killer gets there.

  • @JamnJelly Iron Will, Resurgence, Solidarity, We'll Make It

I was playing Jeff, solo, not BM'ing, not screwing over teammates (some killers will BM if they see survivors doing this); I was the first one hooked at 5 gens remaining. The killer refused to hook me after that.

  • And no, going AFK for 10 minutes will not work. The killer let the other survivors pick me up so I wouldn't bleed out. I had to babysit the game to actively make progress towards dying, since I was not allowed to work on gens, nor die on hook.

  • I'm thinking world objects, like the Pig's Macabre Devices or the Plague's Fountains. The objects (TVs) work like Ghostface, where looking at one for too long triggers an effect. Maybe, the survivor's camera is locked onto the TV while the killer crawls out of it, if they choose to teleport to it like the Hag.

In the past kills were included in the kill rates. Source (from 2019): https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/621461/#Comment_621461

We typically include DCs because people typically disconnect when they're losing. If you exclude DCs, you're excluding the matches where someone is doing so poorly that they rage quit. Removing any data at all will always skew things.

That argument still holds up and I am not aware of any confirmation that disconnects are no longer included.

    Wait.

So the devs are okay using disconnects as a gauge to tell which killers need nerfs, but won't let them count towards challenges and achievements??

    That's fogged up

  • @BoriskyTheFox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2806713#Comment_2806713

Its sad how you think this is funny and say this like you are proud of yourself. Why do people feel proud of running overpowered perks?

I've seen enough Dead Hard survivors teabagging at exits to not care about this Devour Hope gloating

  • @Zozzy said:

Why do you think his kill rates were so high?

using kills to balance the game is stupid without context.

    Disconnects are not kills.

Otheriwse, I would have way more Tome challenges and Adept achievemnets completed by now.

  • Didn't the devs say they put a Bloodpoint cap in place to limit the damage cheaters can do?

Speedhacking, god flashlghts, sprinting while dying, flying, insta-healing, and the devs are worried about cheaters buying perks, items, and addons??

  • @Faulds said:

Ruin change: that's an absolute no. Forever freddy was deleted for a good reason. And a killer should be working hard to get good value from his perk.

Dead Man Switch: that's actually something i agree with.

Dead Hard: i don't know the numbers behind it. But apparently they are going to rework dead hard that way.

Iron will. I can agree with. But i'd also be fine with replacing grunts of pain with breathing sounds (heavier than full health ones).

Prove thyself: no. Prove thyself just negate the penalty its fine.

And there is more pressing meta changes:

*BT: could be shorten to make bodyblocking more dangerous (10 or 8 seconds duration rather than 12)

*NOED: allows killers to come back even if they did bad in chase all throughout the trial... they get a 3 stack devour for free in endgame, thats complete bs

*COH: the self care ability provided by the boon to all the team needs a nerf

It's a hex perk. It can be REMOVED from play by being cleansed!

The killer should have to work for a perk that can be removed anyway?? 😂

  • I've been losing match after match as the killer, getting 1 or 2 kills.

This last match, never mind the 0 kills; I got 0 hooks!

If 3 survivors are bodyblocking the hooks, then who tf is doing gens??

My rating should be dropping, right? The matches should be getting easier, not harder, right??

    Sad

  • Buckle Up came up on the perk randomizer, but the killer never slugged.

Then when I swap it for the next batch of random perks, the killer slugs.

Really wish that your opponents couldn't see your perks before the match starts. Makes it tough.

  • All of my matches have been against very efficient and experienced killers who steamroll us

  • @konchok said:

You can pat yourself on the back that's your achievement. But if you mean merciless killer, merciless killer means to double pip, which apparently you did not do.

I cannot double pip with the current matchmaking, unless I lose the next 200+ matches to drop my rating

  • This would also fix "disconnecting to give the last teammate the hatch." The killer would have time to react while the disconnected player's body is taken into the sky.

DBD has a unique experience where it's not burdened by time, and it would kill the immersion from the game. Also it's already a game where almost every second counts. Most great matches take roughly 22 to 30 minutes and those are the really good matches.

This falls into the category of having in game comms which is a really bad idea, people get really upset when some writes the kysl messages, someone psychically might be worst or racial slurs get thrown around no thanks.

It's just a video game not the end of the world because you we're blocked awhile just DC or go do something constructive in the meantime.

    "Not burdened by time??"

    You've never played killer xD

  • I really hope they add my HUD idea so that the other survivors can see that I've been doing things the entire match before it get's to the point in the match where being near a gen or going for an unhook just means the killer 4ks, because that's all they see and they think it gives them the right to grief.
