I don't need a perk to tell me something that I can keep an eye out for manually, though. That's why I took off Spine Chill after the first 200 hours.
It has uses, yeah, but the thing is, there are very few genuinely useless perks (probably... Buckle Up, Monstrous Shrine, and Up the Ante?) It's just that you only have 4 perk slots and 100+ choices, so you're going to pick the ones that give you the most bang for your buck. I don't see why I'd go for Deja Vu when I could grab Windows of Opportunity and have perfect vision on all nearby loops and their pallet status, or Iron Will for silent looping, or Borrowed Time to extract teammates from camping situations... and so on. Deja Vu isn't good enough to compete.
It's also not going to stop your teammates from 3-genning you by clustering on those corner gens while you get chased (either randomly or deliberately, because the killer wants to create a 3-gen.) When you look at Kindred - the perk is so good in solo queue because it gives everyone else information, not just you, and your teammates will (hopefully) act smarter as a result. Deja Vu doesn't give your teammates that neon warning sign, just you. "I know what to do" isn't the same as coordination.
Good points.
What if Deja Vu showed the auras to the entire team of survivors?
It would need to stack in some way, in the rare ocassion that two or more people have it.
Maybe these gens cannot be kicked or regressed while highlighted?
To balance for the killer's sake, the duration should be much shorter, but the duration can stack from multiple survivors using Deja Vu.

Visionary is much better if you are sick of 3 gens

Deja Vu can be a good beginner perk, but even then Visionary would be better to use.
Visionary requires you running around the map to see all the gens for you to find the problem first. Deja Vu saves you that time and hassle.
Remember, you're racing the other survivors (who have likely spawned near gens that should be saved for later/last); especially in solo queue.

I will play Dead by Daylight. And if i am on good mode, i will give hatch to last survivor.
Just don't down them then? Let them find the hatch and leave..??
If you want them to know that you're giving them the hatch (for your ego's sake?) then just find the hatch, wait for them to show up, and nod your head.
----
That said. When do we get an immediate and automatic resolution for killers who have lost?

We wanted to keep the choice for folks who like the time wasting aspect of boons. If you'd rather snuff them and force Survivors to waste their time reblessing them, you can. Otherwise, you can toss this on and destroy the totem outright.
It's not like there's only one interaction allowed for totems.
Survivors can press one button to Bless and another to Cleanse.
Killers could have one button to Snuff and another to Break, no perk required.

Same, survivors def need more perk slots to run other meta perks.
Survivors are getting 12 perk slots in the coming chapter ;)

I just died in a match against Pig and we barely managed 1 gen.
They had some sweat build.
We were solos, and I was working on a challenge.
Time for a break.

I think the 5 gens remaining is supposed to be the take away from the screen-grab...

Cheaters have the capabilities to target players to increase the chance of joining their lobbies. Streamers are more often targeted by this.

Yes, and old Deja Vu lasted, what? 8 seconds?

@Aurelle said:

Visionary is good for learning gen spawns.
Deja Vu is good for seeing potential 3-gens that need to be broken up.
The problem is that I am often trying to race the other survivors to get the problem gens done before they finish all the outlier gens they all spawned next to. The other problem is that I'm usually having to go to the middle of the map and am the first one found, letting the killer get their 3-gen.

That's 2 people with Unbreakable, meaning they can pick themselves up a maximum of 2 times.
When survivors start doing this, slug them. Don't even bother trying to pick them up, just leave them on the ground; they'll run out of UB and make their teammates have to save them before the inevitable bleedout of 4 minutes.
RPD is a hellscape that should've never been added, but if this happens in future slug them to high hell.
I had something similar at RCPS today, but they had Boon: Exponential, and three totems were in bless range of the library (1 up top, 1 in the STARS office, and 1 in the clerks office (below the library)).
They also had Soul Guard. Slugging did nothing. Chasing the boons means wasting so much time to navigate. Meanwhile, they were already halfway through relocating their boon by the time I got to their old one.
Luckily it was only two of them in the SWF and the other two were left to die.

Just play against solo survivors, preferably with The Cenobite if you can afford it

I honestly, honestly, honestly do not understand the hubub.
It's like being upset that Agitation counters Breakout, Blood Echo counters Dead Hard, Corrupt Intervention can counter Prove Thyself, Iron Maiden counters Inner Strength, Haunted Ground counters Small Game, Coulrophobia counters Self-Care, Franklin's Demise counters items, Hex: Third Seal counters ALL aura-based information perks.. what gives?
Should Breakout gain Haste relative to killer movement speed so it doesn't get countered by Agitation?
Should Blood Echo get cancelled when a survivor is in chase, so that they can use Dead Hard?
Should Corrupt Intervention give way when a survivor with Prove Thyself approaches?
Should Iron Maiden be cancelled when a survivor uses a locker to heal with Inner Strength?
Should Haunted Grounds not activate if it is cleansed by someone running Counterforce or Small Game?
Should Self-Care, CoH, and Medkits ignore Coulrophobia?
Should Items of high resist Franklin's Demise?
Should certain information perks like Object of Obsession override Hex: The Third Seal?
The answer is as unanimous as it is obvious: no.
When a perk or factor of the game exists, it does not mean that the perks that are directly harmed or countered by this factor must become exclusions.
Especially when considering the extreme rareness of such interactions.
How many times do you use Resurgence or Solidarity while Hemorrhaged and don't have the option to get healed up relatively soon?
Solidarity especially - if you're healing someone, they can turn around and heal you with hardly a second's pause.
I just do not at all see the problem, nor do I understand the unique logic or perspective reasoning behind the request.
If a perk is countered by an effect that is designed to counter these exact prospects, why should they be made exclusions?
Discordance counters Prove Thyself.
Corrupt Intervention counters Shroud of Separation (which only the killer can burn)

So something that can counter an rng depending mechanic which is a free escape without the survivors input may I add, and the killer has to get the tokens too, is unfair?
A) No Way Out doesn't need a single token to work. It has a base value that always works. Tokens are extra
B) If the killer's closing hatch, they likely have 3+ tokens
-
Okay, show the killer which survivors are in a SWF.
BUT
- Make it a feature that you have to opt into
- Disable leaving the lobby and give the player a matchmaking penalty if their connection "is lost"
-
Puppet Hand Ash with a key would like to share a few words...
-
I see breakable walls from time to time on the new Haddonfield as survivor, but cannot ever find one when playing killer.
What am I supposed to do while I wait for survivors to get bored of squatting in the exits??
-
I was just reading this as I was loading into a match as Nemsis. Just when I was thinking this is a weird bug; haven't seen it, it happens.
Time to see what the walls in this corner of the map smell like for the next 5 to 10 minutes...
-
It does not always stop a 3 gen problem.
It usually lures you into the middle of the map and you're likely to be the first one chased; especially if Lethal Pursuer's in play.
If not, then other survivors who get chased typically run the killer near these gens.
Even then, BBQ usually sends the killer your way with Pop Goes the Weasel.
----
I have to make an entire build around Deja Vu to make it more consistent and valuable.
- Deja Vu
- Technician
- Stakeout
- Repressed Alliance
Find the problem gens. Hope to work on them quietly. Get gen progress if the killer is chasing nearby and you can't land Great skill checks 100% of the time. Block the gen if the killer tries to chase you off it or Pop it.
If you're good at skill checks and Lethal Pursuer becomes a problem, swap out Stakeout for Distortion.
If you want to warn chased survivors away or draw other survivors in for help, swap out Stakeout for Situational Awareness (formerly Better Together).
-
I was hoping this would be a killer power for a Terminator rather than simplay a perk buff

Bad.
I feel like I need to throw the next 20 matches as Nemesis to get him into a better spot.
I don't know what happened, but I've started playing him again since SBMM was enabled, and it's wildly, obscenely bad.

Very good one.
0 hooks is more than just a loss
-
Their best bet:
- Make the killer strong at release, and make it original so that players cannot scream "Pay to win!"
- Make solo queue stronger by adding some form of communication via HUD or callouts.

@Sumnox said:
I mean, most of them go out of their way to remove 1 survivor from the game with 5 gens left, and they don't show hooks.
Now imagine if it did show hooks.
Nothing changes.
Remove 1 survivor? That means the killer's hooking no one else. That means they can see their hook count at 2 and know that both of those are for that 1 survivor.
Even if all 4 survivors look alike and all 4 are injured, when the killer downs the wrong clone, they can see the player protrait and know they got the wrong one.
----
Showing hook counts helps determined killers tunnel slightly better (if they're alternating 2 survivors and not focusing on just 1).
Meanwhile, it helps nice killers tremendously as they'll know who not to hook (without needing to bring a mori just to see the prompt to know).
If you're against this change, you're effectively asking to be accidentally killed by nice killers; tunneling will not stop regardless of this change.

Exhaustion is resetting when you being hook
New Kindred should help other survivors recover from effects faster while the perk user is hooked.
Dwight is hooked. Meg, Claudette, and Jake recover faster from exhaustion, exposed, et cetra.

No.
That said, give the killer a stack of BBQ if the survivor "loses connection" within 10s of being downed and has not been hooked.

That’s actually a great idea. Most of the time it’s, everyone goes for a unhook or no one goes. Seeing all survivors auras while someone is on hook would be a great improvement to solo without hurting killers. Wouldn’t remove Kindred either.
Yes.
And new Kindred could keep killer aura, but also provide Vigil effects (faster rcovery; especially exhaustion) while the perk user is hooked.
-
Onryo is also affected, but it goes away after the first time Projecting or hooking a survivor.
Is there a way to fix the powers of these other killers during the trial? Maybe keep an eye out for them.
-
Some people do not have access to / can afford / choose to use unlimited data from their internet service provider. Downloading a large portion of the game with every update is not ideal for them.
The game has been rearranged into chunks to make updates smaller in size since only the affected chunks would have to be downloaded rather than the whole or majoirty of the game.
This has broken things and will take time to fix.
Notably, killer powers are not working correctly all the time. If you do not feel like powering through (pun intended) while you wait, then consider playing a killer that relies less on using their power.
-
Return the 100%? Only if it becomes an exhaustion perk.
Then it cannot be obnoixious back-to-back, to-back, nor stacked with other chase-extending exhaustion perks like Dead Hard.

If you think 100% of the legions win, play with him and you'll see
How do I exclusively play aganinst solo queue? That's the OP's concern. Any killer can lose to SWF.
-
The worst part about solo queue vs Legion is when it comes down to the last 2 survivors trying to stealth for hatch, and one of them teams with the Legion to give them free wallhacks to find the last survivor, in exchange for a free hatch escape.
-
Onryo has a similar bug where she cannot manifest. She starts the trial somewhere in between manifested and not. She keeps her passive intermittent visibilty, but can hit. It goes away after Projecting or hooking.
-
Playing Nightmare makes Cold Wind Farm dark.
For other killers, my advice is to move your camera like a bird, keeping it as still as you can so that survivor movement stands out. When you get within lunge range, angle the camera down and track their feet with your eyes and their footsteps with your ears. When they try to spin/juke, try to match them with your movement, not your camera.
-
If the top 10 most used perks were tracked each season, and if the killer could only equip 3 of those at most, then 6 perks would be fine. (Equipping a 4th would automatically disable the last two slots, for those who really want to use 4 metas like they are allowed to currently.)
There needs to be some way to limit the number of slowdown / meta perks.
-
⬜️ Just to Rant (yes it happens to us all)
I oft have to come back here to tell the devs how to balance the game while I wait for my disconnect penalty to go away.
(10% sattire, 90% shameful truth)
-
Add stun the killer to that list.
No survivor can force the killer to walk into a pallet, eat a Descisive Strike, walk in front of a locker, or kick a gen with a Blast Mine attached. The killer has to do those things.
-
I run Desperate Measures alongside Botany Knowledge to counter the Self Care speed penalty
-
This game is survivor sided, and it has to be.
If both roles were equally fun and capable we would have too many killers queued and not enough survivors to fill lobbies.
-
I like to stay demanifested as often as possible, only manifesting for a hit.
Several times, I have disrespected survivors camping the pallet. I walked right through them and immeditaely turned around as I manifested. Meanwhile, they dropped the pallet, missed, and I interrupt them as they try to vault it.
