Luckily I didn't feel like booting up the game to get my characters to P1 when I first saw the YouTuber's/Streamer's posts.
Now that I have 1 mil BP saved up, I wanted to get some clarification before prestiging needlessly.
Thanks

It doesn't matter if I use them or not. I would have to stream DbD for anyone to even see them.

Provided nobody else opens a chest, and if you're combining Pharmacy + Appraisal + Botany Knowledge then that means you aren't stacking up Sprint Burst + Off The Record + Borrowed Time + COH, which I'd call a win overall
You're right. But, they're getting plenty of Green Medkits for the 3 other survivors who are stacking Sprint Burst + Off The Record + Borrowed Time, and those 3 no longer need to run CoH
-
Don't forget Injured + Pharmacy + Appraisal = 6 Geen Medkits

have to point it out when they do say it, but I just wanted to make the discussion more to know what everyone else thinks. Mostly I’ll ignore the one baiting if I can but when they physically block me from going anywhere the countdown starts 😂 sometimes I’ll hit them and just carry on but not at that point of the game. It’s really the same scenario with DC where they hide in lockers purposefully, expecting you pick them up so they can stun and run and then they expect to be left alone 😂 I’m like Nahh mate 😂
Place a trap in front of the locker if they try to bait DS. Then go back and smack them when they come out.
Wait. Can you place a trap in front of a locker and then pull them out of while still standing in the trap, so that they fall on the trap after stunning you with DS, or do they have trap immunity after the DS stun?

Red Herring works great with Blast Mine if the killer is in patrol mode nearby, as they will usually kick it if they see no survivor or scratch marks. You just have to get Ruin out of the way first.
Red Herring will be great with the new change to Distortion. If you run out of Distortion tokens the killer can see your aura, but not if you hide in a locker. Meanwhile, the noise notification lures the killer over so you can get more Distortion tokens. They just have to have a terror radius.

thats been gone a long time ago
They nerfed the survivor vacuuming into the pallet as they approach it,
But survivors can run past the pallet, baiting the killer into thinking they're greeding a loop, and then press the Drop Pallet button to vacuum back to the pallet and get the stun.
-
There have been plenty of times where I see the Hook Survivor prompt, press the button, and they wiggle off. It goes both ways
-
Resurgence should have the same effect, but done differently. After being unhooked, other survivors heal you 100% faster for the next 60 seconds, deactivates once fully healed, and activates the next time you're hooked.
Resurgence only works twice, shaving off 16 seconds of healing, at most; it should not be completely crippled by hemmorhage.
----
If that's not enough and the perk still needs more, then let it increase your wiggle speed if you're on death hook and then deactivate for the rest of the trial if you wiggle free.

I was on RCPD against Myers. I came up to the gate in the back where Nea had 99'd it. I kept my distance from the gate and waited up top by the crashed helicopter ledge looking over the gate.
Sure enough, the injured Claudette comes running through the doorway and goes down in front of the gate. Myers quickly recovered with STBFL, hits Nea as she runs to the switch, and downs her immediately after she opens it.
I dropped down with balance and got out of there.
----
All it takes is for Myers to turn the corner, quick-stalk, and then down everyone with Evil Within III, which is why I kept my distance.

Dissolution gets a notification because it has a duration unlike spirit fury. Spirit fury is immediate and then it's over. Dissolution would be difficult for survivors to gauge without notification.
Then show killers the remaining duration of Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike because they're difficult for killers to gauge without notification

Same could be said for Starstruck
Breaking a pallet is nowhere near as strong as exposing up to 3 other survivors

If it takes forever to end, then you are just doing a bad job. You can prevent him from chaining frenzy, just do that. If you manage to stop his chain, he has to commit on you, then you have your normal chase.
Oh?
So when Legion stabs me and runs off, I just need to yell at them to come back and chase me like normal?
I'm a survivor. I cannot prevent Legion sprinting off unless I have Bond + Open Handed and run to the corner opposite of everyone else before getting hit.
-
I'm not saying the 3-gen strat is unfair or un-counterable.
I'm talking about the survivors hiding and refusing to do gens, or the killer not committing to chases and letting the survivors run away, heal up, and come back. The actual, boring-for-both-sides, stalemate part...
-
Autodidact, Empathy, Empathic Connection, Renewal
I swapped out Empathy for Bite the Bullet at one point, but it felt like no one was coming to me for heals and I didn't have Empathy to find them. Plus, Empathy gave me good intel on the killer's whereabouts.
I ended up using Autodidact, Empathy, Bite the Bullet, Renewal in the end.
(Renewal is great with Autodidact. The biggest hurdle, in regards to heal time, is when others have to heal you without Autodidact. Renewal means you can continue to heal others after being unhooked because you'll be healthy again soon. Plus, Renewal gets a big chunk of charge from high-token Autodidact skill checks. I'm hoping the new Lucky Break will get the same benefit...)
Right now, I use Empathic Connection with Resurgence, Solidarity, and We'll Make It.
-
I tried pairing Empathic Connection with Autodidact.
I thought I would get more tokens if other survivors came to me for heals, or came to me for quick heals when I got to 5 tokens and/or we were stuck in a 3-gen and the killer was not committing to chases.
Instead, I ended up with fewer tokens on average because the 10% healing bonus meant I had less time to get skill checks.
I suggested making Empathy heal 10% slower to get more time for Autodidact skill checks (and it makes sense thematically that you take your time healing someone who you know is in pain), but the idea was laughed at.
-
This has happened 3 more times since posting this. I have reported this a while back, too, but it seems to be far more common now.
-
Trinity (Matrix) cosmetic for Zarina?
-
If it were up to the community here on the forums, #1 is the only option.
#2 just gets you slugged for 3 minutes and 55 seconds before you're hooked (unless the killer finds the last survivor sooner)
#3 is "robbing the killer" of their stomp win they "earned" just to get an "easy escape"

People suggested hemorrhage should be like ruin for healing and we did get it.
Blindness is very hard to buff cause it’s godly against solos but weak against SWF.
How would making hex totems appear as dull totems hurt solo and not SWF?
Hex: Third Seal applies blindness. Blindness makes hex totems appear as dull totems. The totem is blocked to survivors unless they are affected by it.

Forced Penance doesn't stop the Dead Hard, Mettle of Man, or Styptic.
There will still be bodyblocks, just not from healthy survivors

Why not? 4 slugging isn't healthy either. And survivors needs their team. You would use your team.

Ah didnt know that, thanks!
Why not?
Have you seen their Twins profile picture? It seems obvious to me why they are against this change...
-
Hatch doesn't need strong counterplay.
SWF will often over-altruistically go for risky saves instead of play for hatch (especially now that "DC for hatch" is punished).
Solo survivors who get stomped need hatch. (Sure, it will slightly boost their MMR and potentially put them in "brackets" they don't "deserve," but A) those players will not escape every time and fall back into the bracket they belong in, and B) it gives survivors a way to get out of "new player hell" should they lose too many matches and fall into a bracket they don't belong in only to get stuck there)
-
Address suicide on hook?
Doesn't it just become AFK under hook then?
Unless a survivor attempting escape (without Deliverance, Up the Ante, or Slippery Meat) immediately removes them from the match and replaces them with a bot, there's not much that will change
-
Killers who only ran BBQ for Bloodpoints will have 4 slots finally!
-
Will Undying make Ruin stay up until your 2nd kill?
Will Pharmacy + Appraisal (+ injured) mean twice as many green medkits?
-

That's what happens in a lot of my games. I don't think the upcoming changes are going to do much, but I'd love to be wrong.
You could equip Dead Hard and use it after being unhooked, allowing you to tank 2 hits from Bubba's chainsaw and speed boost away. (1 hit from basekit endurance and 1 hit from Dead Hard endurance.)
If the Bubba just counts to 5 before using their chainsaw then you could bring Off the Record with Dead Hard to get the same effect. (You wouldn't have to rely on others bringing Borrowed Time.)

No amount of "reasons not to tunnel" will stop a salty killer from choosing to tunnel a toxic survivor.
You'll need more than a carrot on a stick

We cleansed four hex totems and Ruin is still up.
Steve had the box and was being chased while we looked for totems.
Four cleansed hex totems later and I finally find it! But no...
Steve was downed and I was interrupted at 90% and had to restart the cleanse, and restart, and restart, and restart.
The box wasn't even on the map yet! Solve WHAT box!?
Cenobite stomps solo q.
-
I want to punch my screen.
Playing solo survivor is so fog dam frustrating
-
What pisses me off to no end is that the opposite is not true.
I could lose 20 solo matches as survivor in a row, and still lose the next 30 after that. They don't get any easier.
In fact, they only get harder because I'm matched with players new to the game; new players struggle with survivor role and steamroll with killer role.
-
At the same time, perks like BBQ, Grim Embrace, and No Way Out make killers over-commit to survivors who are strong in chase.

Why is this a nerf empathy post and not a buff autodidact post?
The countless buff Autodidact posts haven't worked
-
I just want more Autodidact skill checks. I need to heal others instead of leaving them to heal themselves.
I threw on Empathic Connection thinking that I will get more healing opportunities if injured survivors see me.
What ended up happening was having less time for skill checks to appear because of its 10% heal speed increase, and survivors just used the perk to kite the killer into me and dump the aggro on me instead.
I thought that Empathy having the opposite effect would help Autodidact, and thematically, it does make sense.
-
Fine. I tried.
Buff Autodidact's skill check frequency then.

You get non-stop "touch grass" comments on your profile

Alternatively, they can stop cleanse progress from resetting.
If someone stops me from untying my shoe and then I resume untying... how is my shoe fully tied again??

Wow, almost like that is literally the point. Go solve the box.
Chain Hunt spawns chains in sets of three, three times in a row. Then there's a large break you can solve the Box uninterrupted in. Then it'll repeat the 3x3 spawn again.
The killer should have to go interrupt a hex cleanse
-
"You committed to chase for 4 gens? That's on you..."
I'm supposed to let them go and start over from scratch?
Haddie barely used 2 pallets. Hold W, windows, and line of sight blockers were enough.
Switching targets does not resolve the bigger issue with him.

It's a little funny how really new killer like sadako is on the "we have to look at it" list.
They don't have thousands of play testers putting in millions of hours. They cannot know exactly how killers will perform live.
Better to release a weak paid DLC than to hear the uproar of "pay to win!" Then just give her buffs later where she needs them, after the community has more thoroughly playtested her
-
If the Dead Hard for distance stayed, then missed attack cooldown should have been buffed.
With the incoming Endurance bodyblock spam, more cooldown for successful attacks would be nice, but then Save the Best for Last gets out of hand

@Brimp said:
Not really cause It would be the first hour where I saw the complete imbalance the game had. Literally no killers being viable until nurse coming out, sprint burst coming back mid chase while also useable with balanced, double pallets, double pallet and window jungles gyms, no entity block, A LOT more windows open on iron works and wretched shop while killer vault speed was like 50% of what it currently is, guaranteed fast vaults for the survivor. I would go on but I would write and essay on how ######### untouchable survivors were in 2016-17.
This was on top of Self Caring back to full health mid-chase

"I think solos are much more likely to leave in an endgame camp situation"

This is why I think NOED had a lower kill rate; survivors would more likely leave the person on hook and escape instead

- If you can recover fast enough with 8 stacks of STBFL with the new buffed attack recovery speed to completely deny a solo unhook trade.
- How DH can be used. People say there is still an animation. Does that mean you can't really use it before vaulting/pulling down a pallet? How does it work now?
- Deja Vu now gives a 5% gen repair speed boost on certain gens. How is this when combined with Prove Thyself and a good toolbox? And how is it when you also use Resilience and Overzealous (or if you feel like it No Mither to get Resilience value instantly). Very fast gens?
- How good is Botany Knowledge value with WGLF/We'll Make It/CoH or even Desperate Measures? Healing should be super quick now, especially if you use a medkit too. I can imagine using CoH and Botany Knowledge to essentially bring CoH back to its old healing speeds.
- How insane is buffed Hope and No One Left Behind with Guardian and Blood Pact? Along with the base unhook haste speed? That's 35% haste speed for a few seconds, 14% of which lasts for the rest of the game.
I can imagine that with some bully SWF's against a 110% killer in end game with 14% haste forever, the killer will end up opening the gate to force the game to end.
Cleanse a hex with Overzealous (12%) + Resilience (9%) + Deja Vu (5%) + Spine Chill (6%) = +32% repair speed on Deja Vu gens when killer has line of sight on you.
This is without toolbox. You can swap Spine Chill for Prove Thyself.
-
Wow...
Okay, geez. I take it back.
Good points!
