Lord forgive me for what I'm bout to do
-
TLDR;
survivor bad
killer good
-
I'm a huge fan of the lore of the game, and also the visual design of the original killers. That's not to say I don't like the licensed ones, it's just BHVR didn't have too much to do with the design of them. The music is also pretty damn good.

Yes but tool boxes were amazing now there worthless except for hooks
Then you're using tool-boxes wrong. Tool-boxes were better, yeah, but they are still completely fine. The change made them more tactical.

So you wear never supposed to be quiet while you were on the ground that doesn't seem right are you sure I don't call anyone a liar ever cause I assume the best of people but I really enjoyed the fact that ironwill worked like it did
Edit: "Grunts of pain caused by injuries are reduced by 100%"
As for the topic, both sides get nerfed plenty. Are you just gonna ignore the plenty of perk buffs survivor's have gotten recently?
-
The only problem I've ever had with a flashlight is save timing, because I'm bad at video games. I've never had an issue actually blinding the killer. Also, yeah, the killers are supposed to be able to avoid it by turning.
That's why you have to time it.
-
No, they definitely still stack. I believe the only times add-ons do not stack is if they specifically say so.

And just imagine next week rolls up and the update is a complete bug fiasco.I would ######### cry really.
I hope i really, really, really, really, really hope this update will be good and worth the wait.
I mean, all we can do is hope. But I'm with you, the game can't handle another really bad chapter.

I’ll add some of my own from my experience here
Freddy: Either you want the easy way out or your a NOES fan
Twins: Do you exist?
Wraith: Very good and respectable players and usually veterans
Billy: Always fun to play with and very chill. Put a lot of time into mastering him
Hag: Very rare but pretty chill. Either put 10 traps at a hook or actually know how to play her
PH: Either you hate DS or are a Silent hill fan
Clown: Either really new or will wipe the floor with you using and off meta perk build
Wraith: Very good and respectable players and usually veterans
Thank you :)
I mean, I wouldn't consider myself a veteran, I've been playing since around before Spirit, but I know there are a lot of people who have been playing way longer.

People would have reacted differently if bhvr would have said something, anything. And preferably not on the day of release but a little in advance.
If they would have said, no release next week, we need more time.
People would have been understanding and more supportive.
People probably would've still been upset, but for the most part, your right.
They should've cemented a release date, or at the very least said something like "We're making some changes to the chapter, so it won't be available next week!"
I still think this is good, though. Delaying things if they aren't ready is good.
-
I'm honestly so confused. Didn't people want them to delay chapters and stuff when they aren't ready (even if this technically isn't a delay since they never announced a release date)?
But now they are 'delaying' it and people are upset?
I'm all for criticizing BHVR when they deserve it, but this seems good imo.
-
Well, this is a new one.
-
Feeling daring today, aren't we?
-
I generally just hook the person. If the fourth get's the hatch, I don't really care. If I find them before they find the hatch, I might bring them to hatch anyways, depending on how the game went.

In game news had it up yesterday, as well as a few other threads on this forum that the mods responded to already. Doesn't look like they really got at personal data, just usernames, no real names, addresses or financial stuff, but they may be able to work out your email to send you a phishing email, or in game message to try and get something, but as long as you keep basic internet safety precautions in mind, you should be fine
Ah, alright then. Thank you for elaborating!
-
Jesus, this community complains no matter what BHVR does. Others have already pointed out the reasons they probably waited a bit. At least they told us.
On a second note, where is everybody finding this info? I haven't played the game in a few weeks, was it on the in-game news?
-
That's the killer perk Thanatophobia.
For every survivor injured, it decreases action speed by 5%.
-
Yeah, I would definitely mind. There is way more information in seeing a killer than seeing four survivors. The most a killer can counter in the lobby is items.
If survivors saw killers, they could then counter their entire power.

Honestly is there an inside joke or something with people calling deathslinger the gunslinger? His name isn't that hard to remember, but so many people just call him the gunslinger or some variation close to that.
I just call him Slinger because I think "dEaThSlInGeR" is a really stupid name.
On topic, we can't balance around people like that. Those kinds of people will leave against anything if it doesn't go their way.
-
I'm honestly more surprised you went against three Twins' in the same day. I haven't seen them in literal months.

Genuine question: is it really fair and balanced that not every strong thing has a drawback? And why?
Iron Will has no drawback.
Spine Chill has no drawback.
Prove Thyself has no drawback.
Enduring has no drawback.
Pop has no drawback.
Nurse's Calling has no drawback.
Bringing a medkit has no drawback.
Bringing a toolbox has no drawback.
Judith's Memorial has no drawback.
Chewed Pen has no drawback.
Plenty of add-ons for killer powers and items have no drawback. Batteries have no drawback. After the update, Windstorm will have no drawback. This is the case for most add-ons.
I could go on and on. If we were to add a drawback to everything strong in the game, that'd be ALOT to look at.

I'm Not concerned with killers reading my aura I'm more concerned with the fact that the addons take little effort to achieve which is concerning since aura reads are really powerful. And the counters survivors have aren't that good, sole survivor requires that your teammates dies in order to use its effects. Distortion had only 3 limted uses and doesn't stop the killer from putting on multiple aura reading perks with thr addons to take away your tokens and off the record only have its effects every time your hooked meaning you can only use it twice.
There are plenty of things in the game that don't require effort and are still powerful. Not every add-on and perk in the game needs to have a drawback.
If anything can be taken from this, it's that Distortion needs a buff.
-
Didn't really use it. Probably still won't.
-
Save The Best For Last. It's just a satisfying feeling getting those numbers up. Or, alternatively, Sloppy Butcher.
For Survivor, right now it's actually Blood Pact.

I wish all Ghostie players played it as fair as you did. I've not met a single one who did not take full advantage of it.
Just to clarify I never said he gets most of his kills because of it. I said he gets a lot, which is a fair assumption given the frequency of the complaints about it.
Ah, so you dd. I misread, my bad.
Unfortunately, it seems Ghostface attracts a lot of those types of players. I haven't been playing him much lately, sticking to Wraith most of the time, but Ghostface is generally my "relax and meme around character."
Smol Ghostface is one of my favorite builds in the game wholly because of how ridiculous it is.

I see it all the time in my teams, especially against the Nightmare, Michael or Ghostface and Wraith. Or they simply disconnect when they are downed as first or suicide on hook.
It not only is annoying as killer to get a dc/suicide but also the team is left with 1 player (or worse more) that just leave. Then try to fix 5 gens and stay alive.
I find that actions like that need to be punished more
Freddy, I can understand. Maybe even Ghostface.
But why on earth would your teammates kill themselves against Michael or Wraith?

I know the reverse can happen, too. But I don't see Ghostface players mention it much. Whereas its a frequent issue survivors bring up. So I'm assuming its not something that happens as often to Ghostface players as it does to survivors.
From a personal perspective I don't play Ghostface, but from the survivor side I can say its something that happens in practically every match against him. No exaggeration. Even when he's fully visible. So if I mention often from the survivor perspective its because its that perspective that the issue is often raised from. Not trying to show a bias.
It happens to (when playing Ghostface) often. If not every match, every other match. I constantly get the "revealed but no killer instinct" thing. But I also have Survivors in the face not able to reveal me. Most of the time, if that's the case, I'll just hit them instead of marking them. That's BS. Ghostface just got thoroughly messed up from dedicated servers. There was a long period of time where Myers and his stalking was really bad. Like, 99 someones and then go away. When you stalk again, the 99'd person, who is nowhere near you, is suddenly fully marked. Or more common, especially with Michael, the stalking would just not work, or reverse itself. It's since then been fixed, but it made playing them unbearable at times.
I know it happens to survivors, I just think it's unfair to assume Ghostie gets most of his kills from his broken reveal. It's probably just from my personal experience, but if I've fully stalked someone it wasn't in the open and they haven't noticed me.

Well how often are they reported? If they were reported all the time they should have fixed it by now
I'd imagine they're reported quite a lot. They just haven't been fixed. The prime example I can think of is the silent slug bug, where a dying Survivor is just totally silent and has been in the game for over a year. I haven't experienced it lately, but I also haven't been playing much. The last time it happened to me was about two and a half months ago, I think. The Survivor wasn't even running Iron Will.

Oh ok. Well to be honest I don't think I have experienced sound bugs or at least notice them. Shouldn't they have fixed it already? How long had they been in the game?
Sounds have been messed up for a very, very long time. They seem to ######### up in a new way every patch.
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
This is normal. His reveal mechanic is broken. He gets a lot of his kills from it being like that.
I've seen you post this a lot, and while it certainly is true, you seem to think Ghostface only benefits from this, which he doesn't. Ghostface constantly get's revealed by somebody on the other side of a wall or, much more often in my case, I'll get revealed and the killer instinct won't proc. It should definitely be fixed on both ends.
-
More than 30% of his body needs to be visible for you to reveal him. The boarded up window probably didn't reveal enough.
Or, it's Ghostface being buggy as hell like usual.
-
I'm personally fine with Iron Will. The only problem I have is it tends to bug sounds even more and make whoever's running it completely silent, unless I'm running Stridor. Like, no footsteps. No breathing. No anything.
And before someone tells me that's what it does- No, it isn't. Iron Will is only supposed to silence the grunts of pain. Not the breathing, or any other noise. If it is supposed to do this, the perk text needs to be updated.

I played so well that game and got done so many objectives but still get punished with a depip because the killer decided he wanted to face camp me. That is not okay and needs to be addressed.
Well, once the MMR system is enabled, Pips and rank will matter less than they already do. What rank are you in? Pipping gets harder and harder to do the more you rank up.
-
Well, like... Others have already pointed out, this is just making it unbreakable, but just better. I'm more partial to the idea of the timer pausing while in chase or slugged.

Hmm yeah that may be true. I feel like right now I don't get enough use out of his cloaking and want to use it more in chase if possible
Right now, on short enough loops you can use his super lunge after uncloaking. It's a good trick to pull on those not expecting it. I don't know how well it'll work with his new slowdown, though.

I might just have to lol.
I need to get him better perks and good addons (all I have right now are common and uncommon ones) but have done very well nonetheless.
Wraith is a killer a lot of Survs underestimate in my experience. With his buffs, he'll only get better. Even if they do mess with his post-uncloak lunge.

I will extort konami into giving us a fume knight skin for pp head!
also yes gascan would be a great addition for a werewolf killer.
Unfortunately, to get a Fume Knight skin, BHVR would not only have to get licensing rights from Bandai Namco, bu they would also have to convince Konami to let Pyramid Head to have said skin. Which is very unlikely.
And to get a Bloodborne Chapter, they'd have to deal with Sony. So, probably not happening.
Also, none of the games are horror. So, the likelihood of a Souls' chapter ever getting in is basically zero.
-
100% Honest, I would prefer Father Gascoigne. I feel like he'd fit for a chapter better. Bloodborne does have more horror themes than DS2 did.
Or... You know.
Imagine how ######### cool an Arorias of The Abyss chapter would be. Dusk could be a Survivor and everything.

and most killers run iron maiden
In WHAT world are you living in that most killers use Iron Maiden?!
I have legitimately never seen Iron Maiden run other than Legion adepts. In the years since legion came out.
Anyways, Distortion should have a way the tokens could be earned back. That's all it needs. It's not the same as BBQ.

That's not quite correct. Bamboozle will still make you vault pallets faster, but Bamboozle does not block pallets.
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info then!
-
To me, a lot of it lies in surprise. When your playing against Myers, you know when you're exposed. There's a huge musical cue, Myers is pretty damn noticeable if your keeping a lookout for him. There is also the issue that he can run out of stalk, even though this has barely ever happened to me in regular games. Also, Tier 1 Evil Within cripples his early game. To me, that's what makes Ghostface stronger. If Shape didn't have Tier 1, he'd be so much better. Ghostface doesn't really suffer from these things.
For one, Ghostie is 115% from the start, and he has actual stealth, not Myers' small terror radius. Leaning and stalking makes their stalk meter go up insanely quick, and Ghostface is a smaller character, which means he's not as noticeable. Sure, he doesn't have the slight buff to chase that Myers gets in Tier 3, his longer lunge and faster vaults, but Ghostface is always just more consistent in getting downs for me. If you can sneak up to somebody and stalk them close by, you get a down. You can't really do the same with Myers, at least not to the same extent. You can use his Shroud in chase to make mind games easier, something Michael can't do without neutering himself.
They both suffer from wonky stalk mechanics though, (damn you corn.) And Ghostface suffers from a very buggy reveal mechanic. Despite what people say, it happens on both sides. I've had people from five feet away staring at me and not reveal me, and I've been revealed by someone literally behind a wall. Or, much more common, I'll get revealed and the killer instinct won't proc.
-
@IWasLeft2Die said:
Bamboozle has been really good for me as Legion as well. A lot of survivors stare dumbfounded when a vault, especially with my power too
Does bamboozle work on pallets??
Bamboozle does not work on pallets, no.
However, Iridescent Button will instantly destroy the pallets you vault as Legion. So it's kinda like a very aggressive, permanent bamboozle.

Well teaming up as survivors is a strategy too but most people want swfs to be removed or have a massive downside to it yet the toxic killer strategies are seen as perfectly fine. The community is very hypocritical and that is a huge problem
That's how any community is, not just DbD. This one is just more apparent because of the inherent "Us vs Them" nature of the game. And yes, SWF is a strategy. Some killers view it as toxic, while others don't. Just like there are survivors who see camping, tunneling, and slugging as toxic, and some don't.
-
@fr0sty1223 said:
Swf, camping, slugging, and tunneling all need to be addressed but unfortunately it seems like most killers mains want survivors to get ######### over while their toxic strategies and perks remain untouched
They remain untouched because BHVR values player agency. I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing, but they do. BHVR see's them as completely viable strategies. Are they fun? No. Doesn't matter, they're still still strategies none the less.
