Hello, thanks for your work !
To clear out any ambiguity, could you explicit what calculations you used to obtain these % numbers ?
May be you could share the raw numbers ?
Like @Archimedes5000 wrote, 1% = 1 person.
If you are interested in the numbers for a specific perk, feel free to ask me. But I don't think it makes sense to post a full list with all the perks (like Autodidact for example) which have been picked by one single player.
-
If you like killers that are less used and hard to learn, learn Nurse on console. (If you have the amount of necessary free time.)
-
Queue times. Waiting 5 minutes for a match is already a big damper on fun. I don't see myself waiting 8-10 minutes. If it comes to this, I'll most likely take a break from the game.
-
Except for the very low ranks, killer lobbies are instant. We don't have enough killers atm. Using challenges to encourage more people to play killer is not necessarily bad. I would very much like to have shorter survivor queues.
-
Whether killers will let you go or continue the chase doesn't really depend on the exhaustion perk but on the big question: How good does the killer think are the chances that they can down you soon?
Gives the survivor the impression of being good in a chase?- I'll look for somebody else.
Bad in a chase? - I don't care which exhaustion perk you use, you'll go down in 10 seconds anyway.
-
It has been like this for a lot of weeks: green & yellow killers getting matched with high rank survivors on a regular basis. Matchmaking isn't buggy. We simply don't have enough killers and especially not enough killers at red & purple ranks. If red survs would only get matched with red killers, the queue times would probably be around 45+ minutes.
-
I'm a survivor main and I don't play a lot killer nowadays, just a bit for challenges & bloodpoints. If the amount of bp for killers would get increased significantly, I would play killer a bit more often.

4 people running it I've never seen, but a SWF on comms that protects 1 player using OoO I play against at least once a week.
Also worth mentioning: I'm a survivor main, most of these numbers came from my games as solo surv, just a few from me playing killer.
A killer main would have faced more 4-men-SWF groups, that would most likely change the numbers a bit.

I know you may not have gotten this information, but if you did just out of curiosity how many ran Object?
I wrote all used perks down. No red rank surv used OoO. I think I came across two OoO users while I was doing the statistics, but these were purple so I didn't count them.

I wouldn't trust a ranking system that allows brand-new players to get to rank 1 in their very first season.
-
Seriously, someone has to be a very inexperienced player to think that the current state of the game is fine. I'm playing the game since 2017, mostly solo surv, and escaping has never been easier than now. Even if I get matched with yellow & green rank survivors, we get the exit gates open on a regular basis.
Also from a survivor's perspective, I'm not happy. 5-minute-matches with 2 hooks where barely anything happens aren't fun. I worry that the sabo changes will make even more killers leave and the queue time situation will worsen.
-
Don't you play killer? Lots of players send these "haha you bad I'm gr8" messages on a regular basis. 🤷 In any case: Either ignore these messages or laugh about it.
-
That happens when one region doesn't have enough players and queue times are bad: Players get connected to servers from far-away regions so they get matched faster with other players.
This caused problems for Xbox players on a regular basis (not a big playercount in total on Xbox) and therefore dedicated servers got deactivated for that platform.
Apparently it's not intended and the devs have to add a restriction so that these wild connections won't happen anymore.

those 3 maps are about the only maps where the exit gates spawn far enough apart that it gives survivors a chance to escape through them (if you're the only one left) and you don't get those maps very often.
These exit gate spawns don't just "give the survivors a chance", they don't leave the killer any chance without Whispers.
And on other maps sometimes the gates spawns close to each other and sometimes on opposite sides. There a tons of maps where the exit gates aren't patrol-able when the gates spawn on opposite sides.
-
The gates do not always spawn close to each other. And on Léry's, The Game and Hawkins, they even never are patrol-able.
To increase your chances of survival, there are several things you can do: Bring Wake Up to open exit gates faster. Bring Left Behind to find the hatch before the killer does. Bring a key to open the hatch.

Yes I’m the one who campaigned all over the forum to get it gone. Myself and other Australian brothers were killed with its release. And then I started a couple campaigns and spammed peanut. Queen responded though and confirmed it was a bug.
A bug? I thought there weren't any servers in Australia?
-
It has probably to do with players getting connected to the "wrong" server location.
Not enough people playing on the server of a certain area -> too long queue times -> players get connected to a server in a far-away region to create shorter queue times (which isn't necessarily a good idea because it will lead to high ping).
I read how some people described that they sometimes got a decent ping and around 200 at other times.
-
From the survivor's side, the current situation isn't fun either: Fast matches where not a lot happens, spending the most time on gens, the killer gets 1-2 hooks, then the gates get opened. Then spending the next 5 minutes waiting for a lobby.

I understand having a penalty for that. That makes sense. When I am given the error message, that the Devs have programmed into the game, because of something they can't fix atm, why am I punished? If you are given an error message saying you've been disconnected and your rank cannot update, clearly you are not purposely dc'ing. Unless someone has found out how to trigger the error messages in the game, I feel like receiving an error message should be an indicator the person didn't want to leave. People dc against me as killer and I think, "They were doing well, why did they leave?" I am starting to think its not them, but the game crashing. I see your point, but I won't change my stance on saying it's annoying. From both the Killer's pov and the Survivor's pov. I would say it's more annoying to the killer if anything. They should increase the amount of points given to the quitter bonus due to it severely hindering the killer's opportunities for points. Just my thoughts.
The player pips error/rank update error does not trigger the dc penalty.

Short summary:
Deathslinger is a weak killer in his current state. He could get easily buffed by making it harder to break free from the chain.
None of the new survivor or killer perks will replace the current meta.
The sabotage changes have the potential to make the game even more frustrating for killers.
Current state of the game: It was never easier for survivors. If you have a high frustration tolerance, try killer. If not, you can stick to the survivor role. (I play solo surv most of the time.)
-
I mostly play solo surv, so my random teammates are the cause for frustration most of the time. Winner: DCing 20 seconds into the game after they got downed for the first time.
-
If one particular survivor is a hard worker (focussed on getting gens done, good at keeping a chase up etc.) while the other survivor(s) just hide somewhere on the map, I try to give them the hatch.
Even when I play killer, I stay a solo survivor at heart.
-
Of course you can run any perks you want as survivor, the game is easy enough. As long as your teammates play in a normal way and you don't have to compensate teammates crouching in a corner, you can win perkless.
-
I think we will have to wait for the DLC to see, as a lot of people don't play the PTB for long and switch back to the normal game quickly.
The new sabotage definitely has the potential to make the killer's experience hell. The next weeks will show whether players will use the new mechanic to its fullest.
-
Random teammates who dc after getting downed 20 seconds into the match.

Is it just me or these posts are getting really annoying? tons of posts like these already. Can't somebody just enjoy the game without complaining about everything for once? thank you
"just enjoy the game without complaining" No, because the game is not enjoyable for killers (too unbalanced) and skilled survivors (too easy). That's why people complain, because they want to play an enjoyable game.

They're currently balancing in the killer's favour in the next patch.
They are adding breakable walls to the SHACK. The God Pallet Loop, that is basically removing a very strong loop from the start of the game if that is possible.
Devs care about either side because they need both sides to keep the game running. And they also sell cosmetics for both sides, do you honestly think killers would purchase any cosmetic if they feel like they are getting the short end of the stick?
I would not say the next patch is in the killer's favour when one map gets breakable walls while survivors will be able to pretty much insta-sabo hooks on all maps.
I hope it won't get as bad as it has the potential to do. We can't really afford to lose more killers.

That is why, the game is now being designed to be balanced around SWF.
What the game originally designed was is a hide and seek where you can't communicate with the other survivors. Now it's more about the chase and it's being balanced around that with the assumption that survivors also get information from others.
The devs are definitely not balancing around SWF. The game is not even being balanced around solo surv.
I play solo surv since 2017 and never did I have more matches where we are able to open exit gates than right now.
-
Banning all killers who don't play in a way how others like it will just lead to even longer survivor queues. I would very much like to not wait 10+ minutes for a match.
-
I play since 2017, mostly as a solo surv, and the recent Ruin nerf definitely made the game a lot more boring. I've never played that many 5-minute-matches where barely anything happens. Spend the majority of the match on a gen, 1-2 people get hooked, exit gates open. Now spend the same time waiting for the next match.

Ghostface was bugged on ptb. They just didn't fix it until public release.
The big problem with Ghostface was that survivors could reveal him in a too short amount of time, so that he could almost never make use of his power. IIRC that wasn't a bug.
Like with Ghostface, the devs could buff Deathslinger in a reasonable way by just changing the numbers. Make it harder to break free from the chain and his power will be more useful.
-
The example you bring up with Ghostface is a nice one: When the PTB got released, he was very weak and people rightfully complained a lot. Because a lot of people complained, he got buffed from low to mid tier. Would that have happened if everybody just had said "Amazing design, I love this killer so much"?
-
Some people seem to think that killers are BHVR employees who get paid for making the gaming experience as pleasant as possible.

Weird. I live literally between Frankfurt and London and even then I get 200-300ms ping most lobbies. I do have the odd 40ms game but that's rare.
Sounds like the server in city A gives you a bad ping and the one in city B a good one, and you usually get connected to A.
-
He could easily get buffed by making it harder to break free from the chain.
If he stays how he is, then he will stay below Huntress. I want to see more of him before I put him too low down on the bottom.
-
@OperationMintyHippo said:
@NoShinyPony no my ping is always over 100, but below 200. It's consistent but consistently bad. Before dedicated I would get best as 60, worst matches I played were 150 (I'd dodge higher lobbies). I literally can't get below 100 now.
So your problems are probably ping-related.
The big question we don't know an answer to is: Why isn't the ping good, even when you are living relatively close to the server?

I live in Ohio and still get 90-100 ping lobbies lol
Weird. Maybe it's an infrastructure issue? My ping is around/slightly better than 50.
(I connect to the server in Germany.)
-
The survivors DID mess up badly. You get the warning sound, you don't stay close to each other. Also hiding in a dead end is another big risk; another big mistake in this case.
If the black vomit hadn't been available from the start, this could have happened at any other time during the match if the survivors decide to play that way.
-
@OperationMintyHippo said:
@NoShinyPony I'm literally right next to Ohio so idk why dedicated servers have effected me this bad. Some matches had annoying lag before this change but I can't even play this anymore lol.
Is your ping indicator below 50?

This is from September, I don't know if they added any locations:
US East (Ohio)
US West (N. California)
South America (São Paulo)
EU (London)
EU (Frankfurt)
Asia Pacific (Singapore)
Asia Pacific (Seoul)
Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
-
Another missed opportunity: It could have been Maurice (from the Chapel map).
-
Seems to depend on your distance to the dedicated servers. I'm lucky, my overall gaming experience got improved, but I hear from a lot of people that dedicated servers made it worse for them.

I watched a streamer and changing the settings didn't help them. Still terribly dark. It must be a more general bug.

Will people run this perk instead of DS, BT, exhaustion perks, Unbreakable? Probably not. And if they do, good for the killer.
