  • Yes, probably everyone experiences this on a regular basis.

Decisive strike is more than fair now, and it’s now a part of my kit. It really does help with tunneling. Worst case scenario you boop their snoot as a “shame on you” tell off.

If you’re hit with ds, it’s definitely on the killer now. Spread the love!

@pemberley DS helps against tunneling, but it also punishes killers who simply down survivors fast. DS should get deactivated when another survivor gets downed/hooked after the DS user has been unhooked.

You mean it will make them balanced? You are not entitled to free kills.

    "infinites = balanced"

"downing a survivor in a chase = free kill"

  • @Gorgonia I wish the devs would accept the help of the community, when there are certified translators like you. A certified translator knowing the game is an ideal situation.

@NMCKE You didn't came across as rude, no worries. I know you are a nice one. ^^ The thing with the translations is that a lot of them obviously got worse than before. The devs probably switched the translation agency they were working with and now the quality is suffering. However, that might not be the case for all languages. I've only seen complaints about some languages so far, so there might have been improvements for other languages.

  • I don't see the problem with 99%ing the exit gates. The EGC got introduced to prevent hostage situations, not give the killer more kills.

@Andreyu44 Yes, we had the discussion in other threads. I'd like to see the Remember Me changes reverted and to make it balanced, Remember Me should get deactivated once the EGC starts.

  • @NMCKE Everybody who speaks a 2nd language knows how low the quality of Google translate is.

And in Europe, it's normal that people speak 2-4 languages. People who aren't speaking anything besides English aren't complaining about the translations.

I'm sure the devs aren't using Google translate. As I wrote above, I assume that they hired a non-certified translator.

  • @NMCKE Waaaah... everybody knows that. The op simply made a joke. Let's leave it at that. ^^

Thank you. I am apparently blind cause I read those guidelines before making the post.

    /shame

No problem. I get that you can overread it easily. :)

  • According to point 4 of the forum rules, leaked content is not allowed. See here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/94/community-guidelines

  • @NMCKE Yeah, everybody knows that Google translate doesn't make perfect translations?

I mean, every player who is complaining here about the quality of a certain translation is probably a native speaker of that specific language and has in addition a good command of English.

The op asked the devs to hire a certified translator and jokingly asked whether the current translation was done by Google (since it is so bad). I just don't get why you would start explaining in seriousness why Google translate isn't a good choice for a professional translation.

The only thing that needs to be adjusted for EGC is a min/max for gate distance. Beyond that, EGC is perfectly fine in its current version. Surviving should be hard in a 1v1 situation, but not impossible. Even with gates as they are right now, it is not impossible to escape, as I have done so many times.

@lasombra1979 This. Implement a min/max gate distance and that's it.

At some point the survivor has lost the match and the game is over. There can't always be another 2nd chance to survive.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/64352/are-you-using-google-translate-german-translations-are-worse

You know Google Translate isn't perfect, ya know? It just gives you a rough estimate of what a different language is saying in your language. As a proficient French and native English speaker, I see the flaws of Google Translate.

    Example:

    Qu'est-ce que tu faire?

    Google Translate:

    "What you do?"

What it's supposed to translate to:

    "What are you doing?"

@NMCKE Nobody said that the devs should use Google Translate. They most likely worked together with non-certified translators who didn't do a good job. (If you take a look around here, the German translation isn't the only one people are complaining about.)

@Pirscher Besides that DbD should have proper translations: If you don't like the translation, you could play the game in English. It's what I do.

Do keep in mind 3% is an incredibly small buff, less then hope. And it locks you out of using other items (ie an insta heal perhaps) which may lengthen a chase considerably (expecially considering mom is now in the game)

3% is not an "incredibly small buff". We all know the difference between looping a killer with 110% speed, 115% or NOED speed bonus. Let's be honest here - if you really think that 3% is incredibly small, why would you even want to introduce this item to the game?

  • Yes, this seems to be a common bug.

I also had the bug that the EGC timer went on with the normal fast speed despite one person being on the hook. I guess the EGC timer has multiple bugs.

  • @Mochan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/485079#Comment_485079

That's exactly the point of the perk.

Sorry I get that Killers don't like "second chance" perks but guess what Survivors don't like getting hooked.

If the perk never manages to give you what it's supposed to do (a chance to escape) then it is useless. Do you killers even listen to yourselves?

@Mochan There is a difference between a "2nd-chance-perk" and a perk that simply helps you increasing your odds of survival.

Don't think everyone who wants a balanced game is a killer main. What fun is a "win" when it is achieved by having used a dozen 2nd chances? That doesn't feel like having accomplished anything. It doesn't feel like a win.

Btw, if you want to let others know that you replied to them, please use the @ function.

  • "Sure it would expand chases but it would also take away from the gen rush"

And that's where you are wrong. The killer can only chase one surv, the other 3 survs are working on gens. If the chase lasts longer, the other 3 survs have more time to do gens. Longer chases lead to an extremer gen rush.

Gen rush scenarios happen when the killer can't down the first survivor fast enough to start putting pressure on the survivors. When 3 gens are done when the first surv is hooked, it's usually game over.

And as you mentioned, these item shoes would free up an exhaustion perk slot. This perk slot can be used to help with repairing gens, for example Prove Thyself.

  • I like your first idea a lot, going back to the old Remember Me except for it not working after the EGC has started.

  • In all seriousness, when I get stuck in trees, the majority of killers doesn't put me on the hook but lets me go.

  • That happens on all maps. The killer should be able to rescue you.

  • For the current state of the game, the changes to Aftercare and Empathy are too powerful.

In general, I'd like to see giving solo players more information and bringing them closer to SWF level. But that also means that killers need to receive buffs to make up for survivor buffs.

Concerning the change to Bond: 24 meters isn't useful enough. I prefer the current version.

  • With the current hook spawns, every meter counts. Don't ask to make Boil Over into another 2nd-chance-perk.

Your teammates can block the killer's way to the hook and tank hits to save you.

  • @SlinkyJinky Why do you think it would be balanced if the survivors knew which killer they are facing? To me, that sounds heavily unbalanced.

  • @Visionmaker The problem is that newer players don't have all different killers and perks leveled up and often can't prepare accordingly.

This is not a shooter where everybody can just pick the loadout of their choice. People have to grind and the grind is immense.

  • The killer is allowed to see what survivors are bringing to prepare accordingly (Franklin's, flashlights against Hag/Wraith etc.).

I rarely see lobbies getting dodged because of one single medkit or one toolbox. And if survivors bring 3+ toolboxes, I don't blame killers for dodging because gen rush is already bad enough.

And you really can't compare killer's add-ons to survivors' items. Except for Nurse and Billy, killers have to use add-ons, otherwise they are way too weak. On the other hand, items for survivors are just "nice to have" but not essential at all.

  • Billy, for the weird reason that I really don't like the chainsaw sound.

Also Spirit, because it's sometimes too much of a guessing game.

  • Seriously, I play survivor a lot and this hasn't happened to me even one single time, not even in the first days after the EGC patch.

  • @friendlykillermain That's good. I hope that was a one-time-occurrence.

  • @friendlykillermain I thought it was clear what I meant with "those specific threads". My bad.

Edit: Okay, there seems to be a misunderstanding: I don't mean "stop replying to we-need-mod-threads". I mean "stop replying to those nsfw threads". As long as you keep replying to those nsfw / porn threads, these things will stay on top of the page and more people have to wash their eyes. Of course we needs mods also for the night shift.

There are 4 Survivors to 1 Killer each match

So it stands to reason that only 1 quarter of the game can play Killer at any one time and 1 quarts of the game can only play Survivor.

This is why the Killer queue is so long compared to the almost instantaneous Survivor queue.

@SlinkyJinky Not quite correct, as long as it's not a 4 SWF. The killer has to stay until the match is over, of course. But the survivors who have been killed earlier in the match usually have already moved on to the next lobby and therefore to the next killer.

That's why you need more than 20% killers.

  • @Tzeentchling9 said:

Literally the only way this is a good thing is if DS gets changed back to 3 seconds IN THE EXACT SAME PATCH as this change.

My money is on 6 months of "observing" DS in a world where Enduring doesn't affect it though

@Tzeentchling9 I hope you are wrong and the DS stun time gets adjusted soon. It's already bad that this perk also punishes killers who don't tunnel but simply down survivors fast.

  • @ygnea said:

I don't get what the big deal is, if you get hit by DS most the time you deserve it anyway. I can't imagine it won't affect spirit fury because you're still getting stunned by a pallet, why would spirit fury not be affected by it?

@ygnea "if you get hit by DS most the time you deserve it anyway"

The big problem is that killers very often get punished by DS even though they did not tunnel but simply downed the survivors too fast. They get punished for playing well.

DS needs to get adjusted so that it gets deactivated if another survivor gets downed/hooked after the DS user got unhooked.

  • The higher the rank, the higher the chances you'll face "SWF death squads". While mid-rank killers don't play against them too often, high rank killers face them frequently and mostly resort to playing Nurse and Billy.

The game needs to get balanced for SWF. Give solos more information and buff killers. Buffing killers can also be achieved by introducing another objective for survivors.

And all killers need to get buffed. A lot of people are consciously not playing in high ranks because of the lack of killer variety.

  • MoM is not like DH. MoM is more comparable to an insta-heal that you use mid-chase (+ sprint effect). And who would think it is balanced to deal with several insta-heals in one match?

  • More and more 2nd-chance-mechanics have lead to a 2nd-chance-mentality. Some players are so used to having multiple 2nd chances that they can't imagine playing without anymore.

MoM has only been existing for a couple of weeks. With all the perks that already existed, playing survivor was perfectly fine before.

Guys, you don't need MoM to survive. There are so many other tools available if you don't want to play the game without a 2nd chance. The devs made the right decision to change MoM.

  • @TreemanXD Exactly, the bad spots need to get removed.

And even if survivors work through Ruin and don't look for the totem, it still buys the killer some much needed time.

  • @GrootDude said:

They cannot fix totem spawns since people will use small game/detectives Hunch, or they’ll just learn the new spots.

@TreemanXD Even if people learn the new spots, it's a big difference if you have to run from one possible spawning point to another and check in all the corners or if a totem sits right next to a gen, waves "hello, here am I" and gets cleansed within the first 20 seconds of the match.

Ruin isn't supposed to last the entire match, it only should buy the killer some necessary time at the beginning in order to get a foot in the door.

  • @Tru3Lemon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/478508#Comment_478508

Theres a difference gens are the main objective for survivor you cannot directly say that survivor do this cuz its our only objective to finish the match meanwhile killers theyre main objective its to kill all 4 survivors and not this "strategy or valid thing" if you hook someone you should go and find another survivor thats why bbq exist

The survivors' objective is getting gens done, the killer's objective is to kill the survivors.

Tunneling a surv is an efficient playstyle, that's why killers are doing it. You can compare it to survivors who usually "tunnel" gens: Survivors focus on one gen. They don't start repairing a gen and then stop at 33% to go to the next gen and do that all over again until all gens are at 33%. And then bring all gens to 66%. And only if all gens are at 66% percent, they start finishing one.

The big majority of killers tunnel because they don't have enough time and have to play efficiently. Buff killers/give them more time (by introducing another objective for survivors) and tunneling won't be necessary.

  • If you don't like getting chased, play a stealth build, don't get found and focus on gens.

Or become a very good looper. At some point in the match, killers will stop chasing you and go for a weaker target. Or you loop the killer for 5 gens. Perks, items and smart teammates can help prolong a chase immensely.

In most cases, killers tunnel those survivors who they find early in the match and who can get downed easy enough.

Some uh yall must not know that RNG is apart of this game.

Have fun on Lampkin Lane or MacMillan Store Haus when the gates spawn on the same L shape perimeter. Oh, wait.. you don't care cuz you is a Killah Main. Oops, duh, I 4got.

RNG should only provide variety, not be a deciding factor in who is winning the match.

  • Looking good, congratulations! 👑

  • @thrawn3054 As I wrote somewhere else: If a gate spawn algorithm is too difficult, the devs could create 5-6 fixed scenarios for each map of which one gets chosen randomly.

  • @PatBrutal said:

So regarding the Bunny Feng outfit, it's more complex than it looks. So basically, the body of a character is separate in 3 parts Bottom, Torso and Head. So if we want to do Bunny Feng the hoodie has to fit with any other torso and sadly at the moment it's impossible.

Please give her a cute sweater with a matching hat then. <3

  • @thrawn3054 said:

I don't think most people want a free escape. They just feel the difficulty is a bit too high. They could test 15 second gate opening times for the last survivor. That might even it out a bit, while leaving the killer the edge.

@thrawn3054 That's correct for some people, but not for everyone.

There is a "2nd chance mentality" where some players feel - with all the 2nd chances that are available already (perks, items, game mechanics) - that they still need another 2nd chance at the end of the day. Some people just can't accept a loss and move on to the next match.

Concerning the exit gates, I would prefer a fixed min/max distance between gates. A shorter opening timer doesn't help when both gates are right next/in line of sight to each other.

  • @Visionmaker said:

Not a fan of more aura reading, and just like BBQC, I see this being too useful for killers that don't need it to begin with:

    1. Get hooked
    2. Go out of TR to heal safely after 25 seconds of healing
    3. Nurse with M&A sees you 26m away
    4. Back in a chase less than 10 seconds later.

@Visionmaker This scenario already exists when the killer is using Nurse's Calling.

  • @TreemanXD Could be; it would be understandable from a killer's point of view.

In most cases, I play "visible" skins and don't bring items. No problems with getting dodged. (I also don't use SC. Bond has to suffice.)

  • @CallMeSpidey I play on PS4 and I can get matches playing in a 4 SWF group without waiting too long, not even talking about solo. Just don't overdo it with items and you are usually fine.

If you get dodged as a solo surv, then it might not be because of you but because of your random teammates. You also don't know your random teammates' ping.
