I once had Tiffany showing as 'Thalita' lol it was a good 6 months ago so I think small bugs like this just happen

Looks like I'm doing the 2v8 Tome and then going back to normal mode 😅

As I already said in a comment after this, it's about communicative intent. Not letting it bother you is one thing, but the intent is to make the Killer feel miserable by using a demeaning gesture. The intent of the Survivors specifically teabagging at the exit gate is to humiliate you - "I won, now look at me. You can't catch me." I'm not talking about staying in the exit gates to give your teammates a chance to open the other gate.
Not sure what you mean with the cat comparison - saying "at least X isn't as bad as Y" won't get the discussion very far.
"They're not here kicking my cats" simply meant that I don't take tbagging as a personal attack. It's some random person (probably a teenager) sitting on their couch furiously pressing a button on their controller. Their actions have no significant impact on my life.
If their intent is to humiliate me, well it's yet to work. At that point the game is over and I'm ready to move on, so I'll hit them out to do so. I don't attach shame to that. I guess I'm fortunate in that regard.

Some individual fighting game characters have well over a hundred moves each. How is it that people can learn all that, but Vecna having four moves is too much to handle?
I imagine you're talking about two completely different groups of people there. The people who find Vecna too complex likely don't go anywhere near fighting games.

I'm on PS5 and haven't even gone against new Freddy yet so, much as I did with SM way back when, I'm reserving judgement
-
I suspect that alot of the time the 'us vs them' is intentional to deflect from the topic at hand
-
I don't think it's toxic (that word gets thrown around alot) but it does sound annoying. It wouldn't make me DC though. Probably just sigh alot lol

Wish I had more killers aware like this. I can’t be arsed playing hide and seek and will sit on a gen until I get found. Usually I still get the hook and the rat gets hatch.
I've had so many folks tell me they will give some grace to the survivor sitting on a gen and hunt out the one hiding, yet I don't see it in my games either lol I've been playing for 4 years now and can count on one hand the amount of times a killer has realized I'm the only one trying and my team mate is hiding for hatch. I'm never surprised when I hear of games where the last 2 survivors are both hiding because they've probably both come from games where it's paid off for them, so they're trying their luck again lol
-
I'd say it's more that most people work full-time, have social lives, kids and sports, etc, and gaming might only be something they play casually a couple hours here and there. And not everyone exclusively plays DBD either, so divide that time between 2+ games and yeah, some people aren't interested in complexity or don't have the energy for it. The killers i enjoy playing are Chucky, Demo, Wraith, and to a milder extent Xeno. So safe to say i have no desire for complexity. And some people may not have the time or don't care enough to watch content creators to learn more. Which is also fine. Content creators shouldn't be a requisite to playing a game. I play Phasmophobia yet find it boring watching streamers play it, so I don't.

I don't know why people are so dramatic about this. Its literally for PTB. Who CARES. You can dc without a penalty to keep lobbies moving but bots cant be added to help with this as well?
I dont want to wait 20-30 minutes for a queue.
I don't think anyone cares about them being added to the PTB. The discussion has moved onto whether they might start expanding the use of bots and how people feel about that possibility. Bots are a relatively new addition to the game and their expanded use warrants discussion (imo).

I'd say the issue isn't not being able to do anything about it, or even the concept of staying the game in and of itself, but rather Killer players having to either sit there and waste their time, or be forced to partake in a humiliation ritual. Not great.
I always smack them out the gate and I don't find it to be a "humiliation ritual." They have no respect for my time so I claim my time back by forcibly moving them on. I have the option to do that and so I use it. They're not out here in my house kicking my cats, they're just sitting on their couch gleefully pressing a button. Probably while in desperate need of a shower.
It seems alot of the refusal to use the tools at a player's disposal (chasing or hitting them out) comes from a bit of stubbornness. 'I don't want to give them what they want' while ignoring that the killer also gets what they want at the same time.

I agree with this 100%. Everyone seems to want to treat the survivor role like everyone is just a solo player and not part of a team. They want the game to be balanced in the 1v1, but forget that for that to be true, it would inherently be unbalanced in the 1v4. By DESIGN asymmetrical games should always favor the 1 (or less) players, because with less players, they don't have to work as a team. If your team is bad, you should lose, and that is the point.
If people want 1v1, then they should be a 1v1 queue where its like a 1v1 chase and leave the team game to the teams.
Plenty of people buy the game under the assumption that they're a solo player and not part of a team. It literally says in the game's advertising that 1v1 is fine.

@mecca said:
Haha. It's an experiment. Instead of making survivor more appealing by introducing content for survivors to test out, this is the result. Mark my words, bots will eventually be added to the live queue to "help out" with killer queue frustrations.
The same thought has occurred to me too. The devs have had a habit in the past of slapping bandaid solutions on things. Instead of addressing survivor concerns their solution is to just use bots. I can see it happening. Hope not though
-
@Skillfulstone said:
Honestly, if this hits live servers then it can only be in 2v8 queues.
No matter how weird it would be to play with like 2-4 bots in lobby, no one likes waiting in queue for 20+ minutes. So many people would stay in the mode rather than going "The moment I'm done with the 2v8 tome challenges I ain't touching it again".
Bots in normal queue would just completely skew any kind of stats (even more so than the current wave of people going next on hook which greatly inflate killrates) and would be boring over time.
Funnily enough, "The moment I'm done with the 2v8 tome challenges I ain't touching it again", would be my exact reaction if they added survivor bots to 2v8 lol

In my data most games where survivors rage quit are unwinnable. Of course this is the problem because no one will agree on what a winnable or unwinnable game is. The rate at which a survivor gives up or goes afk in my games is 13.4%. Roughly 3/4 of those are games I would personally call unwinnable. Most common scenario is killer hard tunneling some guy who rage quits on death hook at like 4 gens left. I rarely see anyone give up just because they were the first person to go down. Even people randomly giving up late in the game is more common than this in my matches.
That's generally my experience too, most giving up happens in mid to late game when it's clear the game is over. I really only see early game giving up when the killer is hard tunnelling. But even then, giving up is not common in my games. I played 3 hours today and didn't get a single team mate giving up on hook. We had a whole team DC but that was because the killer came in trying to 4-man slug from the get-go and my team just DCd one by one. Which whatever, I had no issue there.

Refusing the guy to give back the items he paid for or the currency 3 times in a row, then give in and promise to fix his issue only to later respond with "lmao just kidding nothing for you" would look incredibly well for them
If you've had any experience with Support then you'd know it's par for the course

Knowing where pallets are doesn't suddenly make you a strong looper lol you're just making excuses. I don't use WoO, I look at what is available in my nearby environment, and even knowing then where pallets are I'm average at looping.
It's information, no different to many other perks that give auras/information on both sides. What matters is what you do with that info. The perk doesn't loop for you. There are many tiles where the killer can weaken the loop by moving in a certain direction, WoO is hardly going to help.

Yeah...bots suck. The deck is already stacked against solo queue, and now they want to add bots? Lol, next
I can see them eventually removing the bot tag so people aren't aware of when they're playing with them. Sometimes I watch some of my team mates and wonder if they already do this..

BHVR stated they weren't going to refund him anything, but they are going to "fix" the issue where the dude cannot see the skins in his inventory. So I'm assuming they are going to unlock those items for him even though the licenser who doesn't like eastern europe prohibited sales to their region.
I think it's more likely the Support rep who said that wasn't aware of the region locking. He addressed it as though it were a bug but it's more than that.
-
@Grigerbest said:
Developers aren't the ones who made a regional lock on these skins.
It's the license holder Junji Ito or Japanese government forcing Junji to do so.
And it's definitely not the racial discrimination, I would assume. (Since I don't know the reason of the locks in the first place)
The more I've read up on it, the more I think it's because of crunchyroll. They were involved in the collab as they have the licensing rights to the Junji Ito Collection, but only in certain countries. Like most streaming services they have region locks for certain licenses etc.

Exactly. It makes me want to roll my eyes out of the back of my head when people mention comp in balancing discussions. We're talking about like 0.5% of the game, and essentially not at all in public matches. I've been playing for years and if I'm being honest with myself, I'd wager I could count the total number of times I've faced a comp level squad in public matches on my hands and feet. Maybe just my hands.
What makes sense for comp simply shouldn't be considered at all when balancing and adjusting the game at large.
I am very sympathetic to killer issues, as I play both sides evenly and was essentially a killer main for the first ~1500 hours I played, but calling for the elimination of check spots is just absurd. Like I actually laughed when I read the title of this thread. The fact that survs are stronger in comp is irrelevant to the 99% of players.
As you say, balancing around comp (or even just the top 5% of players) would be tantamount to taking the game out behind the barn and shooting it in the back of the head.
Comp players themselves flat out say comp needs to stay out of balancing issues. Hens, who plays comp, said something along the lines of "no true comp player would ever suggest balancing around comp." The only people who seem to want it balanced around comp are the people who don't even play comp. They just find the game difficult and want it easier.
-
Unfortunately my own experience with Support has been hit and miss. I'll sometimes get someone who actually looks into my issue and is incredibly helpful, but sometimes I'll get someone who just gives me the run around. Looks like the original poster has copped the latter. These people need to understand they are representing the company as a whole and it's not a good look to not care when a paying customer is being outright deprived of a refund they are absolutely owed due to a mistake on the companies behalf.

Thats more of an issue of greedy players, though bhvr surely could be more transparent. Why do you purchase auric cells ahead if you dont even know if you could buy it? Thats insanity.
This is the first time since the game's conception that cosmetics have been region locked. So I disagree that folks should have been prepared for the possibility that they couldn't purchase them and not stocked up cells in advance. On that front, it's easier for some people to spend small amounts of money in the lead up to large purchases than it is to spend a large lump sum in one go. That's not insanity, it's called budgeting.

Makes sense since they instantly deleted the trailer for China. The main problem is that we dont know what's actually happening. There is no proper statement from BHVR on this. They cant even type out the list of blocked countries. Instead they move on like nothing happened.
This is bad for future of DBD. What if the most exciting collab in dbd's history (FNAF) gets region-locked too?
People who say its only about cosmetics didn't even try to dive into this hellhole. Seriously, how can you not see a problem in this? They just cut off around half of their playerbase and why? The answer is clear: make money as fast as possible.
Maybe the game is facing a lot of issues on development side, and they just want to make a lot of money before making a leave. Again this comes back to the fact that they didn't make any comments on this. Such a pathetic move from them
This are comment from steam forum i translated to mandarin so i can read and i
If they wanted to make money then they wouldn't region lock. Sounds like it's something out of their hands. What they should have done is been transparent about it from the get-go. That's on them
-
Might be a stupid question, but have you tried clicking on the individual survivors and killers in store to find them? For some reason they're not showing up on my main Store page but I can find them the aforementioned way

It wouldn't be the DBD community if there wasn't any complaining before we've even seen something in action

I just hope theyve removed the screen getting darker

Is it misinformation though when we are talking about opinions? The opinion of those in lower MMR brackets aren't any less relevant than those in higher MMR brackets. Same with the opinion of those who play on PC and those who play on console and might have very different experiences with certain killers. Tier lists are just someone's opinion. Not everyone is going to agree with them because not everyone is playing from the same place.

I'm saying people enjoy it when they stomp on their opponents. But in order for that to happen, the game needs to have lopsided game that are both for and against each player, so that everyone has the opportunity to stomp over their opponents.
The game currently allows lopsided games, and is between a 30% and 70% win rate, so it's already following your math equation. The game currently allows everyone to have their turn at stomping their opponents.
Speak for yourself. I play primarily survivor and I do not enjoy going against some inexperienced killer and stomping all over them. That is not fun, for anyone.

Doubt they're done. I think they take awhile to address things because they have a long term plan for upcoming changes but limited bandwidth for updates. So if something doesn't work out then it goes to the back of the line
-
Whether it's intended or encouraged by the devs, if it starts to effect their bottom line (ie drives people away from the game) BHVR will change their approach to it. That's really what it comes down to.
-
There's definitely a subset of players who legitimately only play during the events to ensure others have a miserable time
-
Content creators priority is making content, that's why. The clickbait videos are literally how they make their income. Take what you see on YouTube with some scepticism and if you're curious about the perk, try it out for yourself if/when you get the chance. People aren't using it because they're not getting much value out of it.

I'm finding that when I'm about 75% through snapping out of Madness 3, it just stops snapping out. I have to press the button again to finish it. It's been happening for at least a few months. A couple times I've thought I had finished snapping out but actually hadn't. That might be what you're experiencing?
-
Personally, i say no to free DC because it's too difficult to determine intent. Maybe you were just the first survivor the killer happened to run into after an unhook? Also would be abusable by folks when they're going against their least favourite killer.
You have the option to just let the killer down you anyway. I come across plenty of team mates who aren't in the mood to be tunnelled off the bat and will just stop and let the killer down them so they can just move onto a (hopefully) better match. Honestly, I get it. Sometimes I don't care if I'm tunnelled and I'll humour the killer, but other times I just cbf. The latter is usually when you just want to get a Tome challenge or daily over and done with and you realize it's not happening lol

Wouldnt Dredge be slower due to the teleport cooldown though? At least with Nurse you can fall during the fatigue/recharge and keep a more consistent pace.
I've personally had two different Dredges on that map doing the challenge. IIRC they leave a Remnant, fall, teleport back to the Remnant, fall again, climb the stairs, and by then it's not long before cooldown is over and they repeat.

From what Ive seen, people just use Nurse, send themselves to RPD or Ormand, and just constantly fall of ledge and teleport back up to the top. You can easily get 100-200 meters per game, just make sure to bring passive slowdown like Corrupt, Deadlock, etc.
I just havent gone out of my way to do it since I rather clip away at other achievements and get it passively.
Dredge in the main building of Eyrie is what I've mostly seen

First off, is it for children, or is it for young teens? There are two very different marketing demographics. I ask because the post you made that I originally commented to said "FNAF is marketed towards children. Not upper teens or young adult, but genuine children." I'm willing to have this conversation in good faith, but only if you do the same.
Second, I never once implied that FNAF was on par with the all time juggernauts of horror. I only brought up said juggernauts to say that we as kids watched horror we weren't supposed to, and children of the modern age do the same.
Third, I'll respectfully request that you keep the insults to a minimum. (Crazy, huh?) Again, I'm having this conversation in good faith.
Fourth, I'm actually curious what point you were trying to make with the photos you posted? Something that looks kid friendly can still be used in a horror setting quite effectively. Childs Play, Annabelle, Gremlins, Children of the Corn, and any horror media based of clowns are great examples of this. I actually think this is what FNAF does best: Take something kid friendly and make it scary. Add in a touch of child murder, and BOOM, you have FNAF in a nutshell.
Finally, if FNAF isn't your cup of tea, more power to you. I'll admit that its an acquired taste. You don't have to like FNAF, and thats okay. But the majority of us do, and thats also okay. I wasn't a fan of Castlevania making its way into DBD, the fact that it did didn't make my life any worse by any stretch.Re ages, my 9 yo has all the books and graphic novels. Some of them state reading age 8 - 12 years, and some state 12 - 18 years. So it's targeted to both kids and teens, evidently.
