The challenges are pretty passive now, and since we have until the rift ends (80+ days to go?) to complete it, I don't think it's that big a task in the long run. The devs also have the stats and would know how often aura perks are used and how much value they give, which is where the 800 would have come from.
-
Jfc it's a game and people are actually wanting folks banned because of bugs outside of their control. Not everyone is aware of bugs and exploits them maliciously. Lots of people (such as myself) have quit social media and the only place i get DBD news from is this forum, and even that is lacking imo.
BHVR simply need to be faster on the killswitch. End of.
-
I don't believe they ban anyone for that. If they used to, then they don't anymore.
-
I've played 17 games since the change and I think I'm up about 15 tiers. With 3 months to go I'm not worried about completing it
-
If the license holder said no, then it won't happen. Simple.
-
I like it too. Never considered it could be used for bribery reasons though lol maybe that's why I'm seeing so many anniversary bp offerings

You see, I am a yoichi main. (Love your build btw!)
However respectfully - I couldn’t bring myself to use empathetic connection even though it’s my favorite perk because it’s all about being “psychic” being able to emit your presence to others.
Orela lore wise isn’t psychic but Yoichi is.
That was my only dilemma :(
Ahh yes, that's a good point 🤔 yours is definitely more lore accurate
-
I agree. Though I do also like that it gives me a way of tracking my escape rate. So I'm in two minds.
-
They said in stream that they do alot for killers but not alot for survivors so they want to change that this year
-
I went lore accurate for Orela too lol my build is Do No Harm, Empathy, Empathetic Connection, and Lucky Break. Everyone comes to me for heals, and I know where they are and they know where I am alot of the time with the aura reads, which makes it feel more like a team. And Lucky Break is purely for myself, as I can consistently get value from it from all the healing I'm doing. Might be a coincidence but I've had a decent escape rate with this build too.

I get confused now when I see a green medkit.
Omg it's just clicked to me now why I have so many green medkits 🤣 I was confused

I'm going to be honest, FNAF fans on the DbD community were so annoying on the past 5 years that just because of that I had hoped they were never going to get what they wanted. Remember when they kept insisting Springtrap was going to be released all the way back in 2021, even though all the clues and teasers left by the devs pointed to Hellraiser, which FNAF fans kept saying were all "red herrings" (They kept saying letters forming the word HELLRAISER were a red herring, ff sake…)? Remember how much they complained when Pinhead got confirmed, even though it was obvious? Remember how they kept complaining about any other licensed chapter on the following years because it wasn't FNAF, even those that came with way bigger horror icons, like Chucky? It's incorrect to say FNAF fans are "children", but that repetitive behavior was childish, to say the least.
But leaving that aside and trying to be more rational about it, I think this license will be good for DbD. It's a popular franchise that can bring a bunch of new players, afterall. I still have one problem with it, related to certain donations the creator of the IP likes to make, but that's a whole other discussion…
I'm gonna preface this by saying I'm 100% down for a Supernatural chapter, but damn if I wasn't getting FNAF/Hellraiser flashbacks last night after the stream. The roadmap literally spelling out "the ones who live" (a literal Walking Dead show featuring two of the main stars, who also joined Fortnite not long ago) and yet SPN fans were insisting the survivor chapter has to be Supernatural. It's gonna be like this until the chapter reveal lol

Well, if that was not THE anniversary live stream, then they shouldn't have called it "Year 9 Anniversary Broadcast" on youtube, and even given it the same kind of thumbnail they only give to anniversary streams, with the anniversary event art, the year number and all. It was pretty much announced like an anniversary stream like any other.
I guess because they did cover the 9th year roadmap and what we can expect to see. I think the next stream will be specific to the event.

The problem with that is the Dailies are limited by, well, being daily.
If you don't complete the three Daily tasks on a specific day, those Fragments are gone permanently.
So for example, if you completed all 12 Rift Pass weeks for the 45 tiers, and got the 38 tiers from finishing all Milestones, that's still only putting you at tier 83/100.
Those last 17 tiers will have to be made up through Dailies, which give 45 Fragments each day. That's about 37 separate days of completing all three Daily Tasks.
If my maths is correct, which it very may well not be (I'm bad at math), it is not possible to complete the Rift if you start with less than 37 days left before it closes. There simply is not enough Fragments because you missed out on the first 50 days.
I've only just noticed that as you go up in Milestone steps, the amount of fragments increases too. I'm starting to think people might be jumping the gun a bit on this. If Milestone fragments increase, then I can't see why the weekly quest fragments won't increase either.

I run Pebble, Lute, Plot Twist, and a variable fourth perk that's often Mirrored Illusion. I'll never get another match again if this goes live.
Nothing wrong with those perks!

I hope, carol and him were my favorites.
He's definitely a fan favourite. I'd love a Carol Legendary. I havent watch TWD in years but she was one of the best developed characters on the show.
-
Apparently there's another stream in a couple of weeks. They'll give us a better look at the anniversary/FNAF chapter and undoubtedly a rundown of the event. They always tell us in advance how the event will be run and rewards etc so I can't see this time being any different.

"The ones who live"
Whatever that is supposed to mean 🤔
Edit: It is referring to "The Walking Dead"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walking_Dead%3A_The_Ones_Who_Live
Yup. Once The Walking Dead hit Fortnite I knew it was only a matter of time before it came to us. Was a good indicator that the license holders were shopping the license around and it makes sense for DBD to snatch it up. I think Fortnite also got Daryl so I wouldn't be surprised if we get him as a Legendary.

I don't think the community will survive this again

Now that he's killswitched, can I ask what the bug was? Just out of curiosity lol
-
Yup, I was disappointed with that as well. I'm happy we are getting him in the game, but he has everything he needs for his own chapter
-
IMO - they're simplifying it for the incoming FNAF crowd. A chunk of whom are quite young and probably do play Fortnite. It's boring because it's been dumbed down.
-
"Quests could of easily had the name Rituals"
Lol I had the exact same thought. 'Ritual' is more on theme than 'Quest'

I really thought that the deep rift recolors having now multiple different variations is really good, too bad it was wasted on cosmetics with an honestly terrible theme and visual appearance. Like imagine if the had implemented this in last rift, you can have a 4 man of Janes, all with different colored ribbons on their torso
I personally like this Rift but your comment got me thinking it would have been cool if they used different flowers in the different iterations, instead of just changing colours
-
They've got nothing to lose by keeping it around. I can't see any reason to get rid of it.
-
I noticed that too and am hoping it's a bug. If it's not then I imagine not enough people were using it for them to bother keeping it around.
-
I don't actually mind it personally but I know not everyone copes well with change. It's definitely gonna take me a bit to adjust to it though.

Someone did the math on reddit and said you need to do 37 of 84 dailies, all quests, and milestone quests to reach 100. The 2V8 and Anniversary quests will help too but yeah it seems like it's very important to login and do the dailies.
I've been buying the Rift Pass bundle, which gives you 20 tiers upfront. If the post I saw on Reddit was correct then this bundle pretty much negates the required dailies. So it's probably a good option for those who may not have the time to log in most days to complete dailies. We also get fragment frenzies every now and then, which will help too. If it's still too much for most people I'm sure the devs will up the amounts rewarded.

I just played against a Ghostface
-
Pretty sure the map change was part of Phase 2, so in the second half of the year. Makes sense if FNAF is coming with a map and potential hoard of fans that want to play on it
-
I've only played a handful of games over the past few weeks, so I thought maybe I was a bit rusty cos the skill checks felt a bit off lol they did implement that new change where the gen no longer blows when you hop off it, so it might be part of that. They might have had to slow them down

He's one of my favourite killers to go against

I don't get why everyone is upset at duty of care? The entire point of protection hits is to save an injured survivor, all this does is help with that. I highly doubt it will make YOU faster as well.
Right?

As for this: Kaneki was bugged to hell in the initial PTB, it was only when he went live that we got to see how he would actually play because HIS PROGRAMMING WORKED. It's an example of how Behavior is failing to use one of the most valuable tools to improve a character before trying to make people pay for it. PTB doesn't just have to be "Oh, this bug exists- noted!". If they had a second phase where they could at least let us try the killer WITHOUT the enourmous bugs, things like this wouldn't happen. If we got to play against unbugged kaneki in the PTB, unnerfed Kaneki would have never made it to live.
Yeah, Duty of Care puts the person running it at risk. It's an altruistic perk and as such I know I won't see it much in my games.
Survivors are constantly told our problem is we don't play as a team. And that's why the solo experience sucks. Well BHVR have been nerfing the "rat" perks and giving us team perks to encourage and reward teamwork. People still aren't happy.
-
Oh wow, I actually quite like them 😅
-
I'm guessing because the point of it is to make the survivor unhooking a more appealing target than the one being unhooked. If the latter is zooming away even faster then mission accomplished I guess.
-
Thanks for the info. The new Rift cosmetics look amazing btw
-
Apparently there's a fix coming out Tues
-
As a survivor main who doesn't let go, I'd rather you just hook them. Because in most games where killers do this, my other team mates will pick them up anyway and at worst they'll be a hindrance and at best they'll be useless. If they don't want to play then don't force them. But then I don't see alot of letting go on hook in my games so maybe it's easy for me to say that. If you're seeing it frequently then I imagine it's easy to get frustrated.
-
@BlightedDolphin said:
Wouldn’t this mean it’s better to abandon the match rather than letting the killer hook/mori you when on the ground since it’s a draw and not a loss?
For the last person it sounds like it. But you still get the 3k for killing the other survivors, so it's a win for the killer.
@Coffeecrashing said:
If the last survivor abandons, and the killer immediately abandons afterwards, does that mean the killer turned an MMR gain into a draw? Would killers be able to do that to manipulate their MMR?
And does it mean the entire match is a draw, or just part of the match involving the last survivor?
If you've killed the other 3 survivors then your MMR should increase as you still got a 3k so it's a win against those survivors. Apparently for MMR purposes its 1v1v1v1v1.
Sounds like this draw thing will only be a hindrance to those who have slugged everyone for the 4k.
-
I have Julie's one but never worn it tbh. I've seen all of those skins at one point but they used to pop up mostly at Easter time. That's kind of died down the last couple of years. I might use it next Easter for funsies
-
Cheaters create hundreds of free accounts and keep them in holding. They don't automatically set cheats up on all of them. When one account gets banned, they fall back on a different one. So technically, a single cheater could be sitting on a hundred "honest" accounts, and giving those accounts auric cells just rewards cheaters in the long run. Good thinking but I can't see it happening.
-
It's definitely lost the casualness that made it fun originally. I played a few games today and they were okay so I might give it another shot. I pretty much gave up on the modifier last time it was out.
-
"I played thru 12 minutes after killing 3 and then I admit I abandoned the game to ensure the 4th kill"
Just an FYI, the devs have confirmed doing this counts as a loss of kills for the killer (ie that 4th kill in your game won't be counted as such to the game, only the first 3) and will be made more clear in an upcoming update. You can check the comment section of Otz's YT video on this very topic where he's pinned confirmation as well that it counts as a loss. So yeah it can be done, everyone's aware of it, but there's not really a reward for doing so.
-
Poor Slate seems to have had alot of bad luck with hackers lately, which is surprising since he's such a pleasant guy. Usually they like to target streamers they can get a rise out of, but I don't think I've ever seen Slate lose his cool so not sure why they'd pick him.
-
Yeah alot of us noticed this when the first teaser came out. I don't understand why they couldn't just stick to the original Until Dawn story
-
Oh I didn't know this. I've been using it for the last couple months to now find its barely been working? Has it been reported in case it's a bug?

I thought BHVR hid prestige’s levels specifically because there were too many lobby dodges happening because of it???
Why would they give players stuff that can be seen in lobbys, so people can lobby dodge the P100s again?
This is the reason why it'll never be cosmetics.
Personally, I'd be fine with a badge and/or banner. BHVR are alot more generous with bp these days so getting to P100 isn't a huge feat anymore.
