Even MK doesn't automatically force you into a finisher. taking away player agency is never a good thing.
I don't even know how it works tbh, do you find the survivor and then it triggers the mori? Or do you down them first? Idk.

I am unsure where I cannot take your opinion. I only see that I disagree with your view and I tried to explain what is better from my own.
We shall keep at that, if you want.
Yeah but I just said "This game isn't scary to me anymore", and you went on about that I don't think that we should make it a horror game which I don't even care about. And what's better from your own? Why does your opinion have to be better than mine? Yeah let's keep it at that since it seems to be a little difficult.

Not all the players will feel it. Because one or two out of 10 are not feeling it, doesn't mean we should avoid it.
Just because 500 players out of 50k players playing on steam only are saying horror is not working for me anymore, doesn't mean we should avoid trying to make DbD a horror game. Get me?
It's a horror marketed game, it had success with this for 6 years.
No where did I say we should avoid making it a horror game. All I did was give my opinion, why can't people on here take it and keep it at that.

It's not about that, I have myself 6k hours in the game and I'm generally not scared but I do like the atmosphere of DbD.
I don't need to be jumpscared, but I want to feel what DbD can provide which is the slasher feeling of a survival game.
Which is supposed to be scary to me, therefore my comment. Because a horror isn't a horror to me if it's not at least a little bit creepy. Which it isn't.

This game is changing to a heavy competitive PvP across the board since 2 years ago. The community is more and more into it if you are not aware of this.
For veterans who play DbD since 2016, they may still be around survival horror but the new player experience is pretty much all around competition, win only, the best stuff ever, META etc.
Changing the game to favor the popularity is the right for marketing but I have to admit, I want DbD to stay focused on horror.
This game isn't even close to being scary to me anymore unfortunately.

That's rather presumptuous, and insulting. And honestly it's also dumb and not thought out, just like this patch. None of those perks would help if a survivor goes down under a pallet and one of their teammates drops it on the pickup. Play Pyramid Head? What if they're not condemned?
And no, I am not the sort of killer to slug every match to bait in other survivors. I don't need to be.

But I know a bad idea when I see one.
Love the look of your pig, makes me wish I was good at playing her.
-
Yep, I'm kind of excited for this new update. Nothing imo to quit over since you haven't even played it yet and it's not coming live to the game for a while. Like seriously? A new, epic "FINISH HIM" moment in DBD? Sounds awesome to me.

It wasn't my game I saw that in, it was the cheater himself posting the video on TikTok to advertise his cheats.
The devs state in the reporting rules that when you report someone else's clip or it's on another platform, they will just trash it. It has to be a clip of your game happening to you or a match that you were in. So unfortunately, your reports probably weren't even looked at. 😕
These are quotes from their game rules: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
NOTE: We do not control anything that happens outside of Dead by Daylight.
This includes private Steam messages/groups/names, PS4/XBOX messages, Discord messages, Twitch/social media interactions, etc. Anything that occurs on these platforms must be reported to their respective authorities.
You may only report things that happen directly to you or in a game that you were in.
Reporting for other people is not allowed and these reports will be discarded.
(ie. Reporting someone on behalf of a friend, streamer, or other)
-
Did you have video evidence of him cheating in your games? If not, they will trash your report. I started recording my game sessions just in case, not guaranteeing though that reporting with evidence will do anything. Also promoting cheats outside of the forums or the game is out of their control. Luckily I never come across cheaters, I have encountered maybe 3 in my 4-5 years of playing this game, maybe I am just a lucky one.
-
Yeah, same here, the ones that say they're on sale for 25%-50% off, are not. Devs should look into this.

I like to use killers that people don't commonly run into like Clown and Dredge! Thinking about others is good i want to make it fun and interesting for players with unique builds as well. Props to me and others like me for that! )
Lol yes, props to you 😁 Too many people are playing as him and it's making me wanna take a break lol

But should a survivor be able to pick themselves up 5 times a game without help before they can bleed out?
I think it's on the killer if they don't hook a downed survivor immediately knowing this will exist, it doesn't take long, and if you want to be greedy and leave a survivor on the ground to go down another one and it takes longer than 45 seconds, maybe it's the killer's issue.

I know this perk basically just for memes and a hard mode I guess but the perk basically useless now at least give old iron will
I just had to use No Mither for the challenge where you have to escape using that and no other perks... it took me like 10 matches...
-
I like this update because honestly, because the system imo was outdated and needed something new. I do feel though the updated perks won't be as useful or exciting but then again... bye bye old Devour Hope and Undying!!
-
It is useless, especially since their moans are only decreased to 75%, it's still pretty audible which is why I don't use Iron Will anymore. Being able to pick yourself up? Not even a thing anymore since it will be basekit. The killer never leaves me down so kind of worthless anyway. The best part about it is I guess being able to use Resilience, This Is Not Happening, etc. with it.

I mostly cross paths with players with TTV in their names on both killer and survivor, thus there's bound to be a cheater in the match. I'm in the USA and most are usually subtle cheaters until they're caught and then they go full throttle. If I had to guess, I'd run into at least 1 cheater a day if I was to play daily. I quit playing last week after running into 3 in a row which I believe was the same person although not sure why they were matching with me, another survivor, not streaming. But they used the same name and outfit. Who knows. It's probably region and who you're playing with/against.
I'm in the U.S. also, so idk. I've started recording my matches just in case though.

I've literally given up at this point. They're not answering anyone on this other than telling us to report the player in game and send a ticket on their website with video evidence. I quit playing last week, and I think everyone should follow suit. There's no point in playing a game rampant with cheaters and no response from the devs, not even a mention that they are working on it. If the devs can't communicate to the community that it's simply being handled, then why should we continue to stress ourselves out playing the game with cheaters.
Also, there are really good anti-cheats out there, and I'm not sure why they aren't being utilized. Some developers even have teams dedicated to finding and resolving cheating in their games. For a game that has so many licenses with major franchises like having Sadako, Freddy, Myers, ect... You'd think they'd put game security first and foremost. But I guess new content is more important? We'll never know because the devs won't be open to communication with their consumers. So as consumers, we shouldn't have to keep spending money to keep the company afloat and definitely not waste our time using a product that has a HUGE security issue on its hands.
I very rarely encounter cheaters, I have maybe 3 times in my 4 years of playing. Depends on the region I guess, idk where these people encountering all these cheaters are playing but, I never see them.

Farming is 10000% reportable have zero doubts over it, my only stipulation is that if i just get snitched to killer and get hooked I'm fine because at the end of the day it's 2 survivors and usually only 1 gets to live so it's more like every man for themselves situation but farming me for altruism and sacrifice points is just str8 up too much,at that point injust wanna be done and go next
True, I won't be petty and report for inconveniences like that but farming me without my say so is a waste of my time and straight up disrespectful.

Generally what's happening to you is reportable,cuz strictly speaking it's griefing ,I don't mind killer giving hatch to other guy but IF they farm me for hooks/unhooks i'll also report both of them
Maybe that's the reportable part, if that didn't happen to me then that's tough luck I guess.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/347583/what-do-you-count-as-a-win
I am most definitely not a competitive player!
My personal goal when I'm playing is how many times I can Deception a locker and get the killer to check it, plus how many Head On stuns in a match - if it's more than 2, that's a win to me. I am not really bothered whether I live or die in a game, I like to get involved and take risks and make those risky endgame saves, I also sacrifice myself for my team mates. My BP even in death is normally 24k or higher, so I'm pretty satisfied with that, and I definitely play for BP more than the escape as a survivor.
When playing killer, it's how many hooks I got more than actual kills. If I've had a fun match and won some good chases, I'd class that as a win for myself personally regardless of the number of kills - I play for chases and if I'm playing a stealth killer some good jumpscares thrown in is just a bonus!
It would be cool if there was an event that we could have a chance to play with you guys (the mods)!
-
Unfortunately it's not abusing it, it's just how annoying the perk itself is. Lucky though not many killers use it.
-
@VikingDragonXii said:
If that happens when I'm Killer I play along until we reach the other survivor then I brutally beat down the tattletale and hook them and let the other survivor tea bag them then I walk away. If the survivor rescues them if not fine but I let the other go regardless
Sounds like the proper way to deal with it, unless of course the other survivor was doing absolutely nothing the whole game.

If you download OverWolf, you can get the add-on called Outplayed. You can customise it to record your sessions in the settings and the like.
Do I constantly have to turn it on every time I go into a match?

Thank you for specifying "some" of us. I rarely get the luxury, but when a survivor seems like they're crawling towards someone, or they run straight to their teammate, I just try to down them both and get the 4k. I don't think much about the reason. If I suspect they're trying to sell out their teammate because their teammate hid and did nothing all game, I'll gladly kill them, although it won't be in exchange for letting the snitch live. As killers we automatically suspect that if you've been hiding, you weren't helping your team much that game, because of the stereotypical immersed players and Blendettes and BlendAdams. But it's usually about getting the 4k, so if a survivor wants to team with me and do that, I'll comply and then kill them anyway. Just know that it's nothing personal and that I'd rather not play scummy to get the same result.
I know it isn't everyone, a lot of killers play fairly. I am however, tired of hearing, "When a survivor does nothing all game......", because that seems like to me they're implying I've done nothing all game which isn't true, I said I was doing gens.

@KerJuice said:
It’s all about perception. If I can’t find you or don’t see you contributing to the team (hook saves & gens) all game, then I’m going to assume you’re a coward and not being a team player. Especially if I find you crouched somewhere behind a rock not doing anything, waiting for the 2nd to last player I was about to kill, to die. If I know the other 3 were trying their best to play the game normally and you were being selfish, then you die and the other one gets to go. But if I get the impression you were playing stealthy and smart, and I find you on a gen miles away because your teammate sold you out, I’ll let you both go.
I don’t agree with that killer doing what he did since he found you on a gen trying. And I don’t agree with your teammate selling you out- but he probably took it as though you weren’t contributing to the team. He got the wrong impression based on what you described.
I’ve had players blatantly sell out other players who i know for a fact was contributing, so I wouldn’t do anything. I’d just signal for them to finish gens and hurry up and get out so we all can move on to the next match.
I said I was doing gens, but I am not going to run up to you and wave my hands in your face, I'm gonna survive while doing my objective. If you think I should be farmed out for that, idk what to tell you.
-
@TDtheDoc said:
I will say this though,I agree with some others in here,if you hide around corners the whole game and you are good at hiding that long,if I catch you I’m making sure I don’t have to worry about looking for you anymore.

As people can tell I’m about as Killer sided as they come but I had a game just last night where a hit a survivor and he ran to the basement and pointed out a survivor in a locker.I hooked him and got the person from the locker and let them wiggle free and go heal up.I camped the guy out in the hook and at end game told the other survivors what happened and they all appreciated knowing.I have seen several survivors backstab their teammates and I usually try to punish them for it.
That's what they should all do, not amuse rats and let them farm me as well as a free hatch escape. Especially if they have been doing nothing and I've been doing gens.

No assumptions okay? And no offense meant. But what you are describing is outside of the normal DbD game flow. I generally get survivors pointing out other survivors if they are hiding for hatch from match start or some other scummy tactic. If that's not you maybe you just had a stretch of toxic teammates. It happens.
Not offended at all, just having it happen too often so I'm starting to see if anyone else does this or is experiencing this as well. Not to hear "Well, they just wanted hooks", from some people, that's not it or else they would've killed the last survivor too. It's too annoying.
-
@prion11 said:
wait, survivors are ratting you out to the killer and you're wondering why killers would do this? what?
Why so sarcastic? Obviously, yeah I am. Just like people are questioning why killers still to this day camp and tunnel. Because it's annoying? My question is, why let the rat escape and not kill them too.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/347624/killers-why-do-some-of-you-do-this
As a killer i'll do this to get extra hooks. For example, if i only hooked one once, or 0 times, and the other person is on death hook, and i find them, i'll often injure them, then go look for you so i can get more hooks.
I don't think people are understanding me, the killer is letting the survivor lead them to me, farming me, killing me, and letting the last survivor escape. That's griefing, that's not just letting the killer get more hooks.
-
@FriendlyKiller said:

If you never take chases and stick to ninja gaiden-ing gens I'd rather kill you then the survivor that put themselves at risk for their team. It's part of playing survivor that I myself had to adjust to. If I haven't been hooked once and one or two of my team are on deathhook I go find the killer and run the best I can.
Just how it be sometimes I guess.
Who said I never take chases? You're assuming I'm hiding the whole entire game doing nothing. So you'd let the one who was just conveniently found, point me out, farm me, and then let them leave while I was still doing the objective? I'm not gonna just run into the killer's face and say "hit me! hook me!". Part of playing survivor isn't getting ratted out by your team and farmed to death.

Well, still, not killer falt. Killers can have preferences, he wanted you dead.
The exact D-k move was from your teammate in this situation.
No, it's the killer's fault too, as well as the survivor's. If the killer wanted to, he could've been smart enough to see what the survivor was doing and not have fallen for it.

Killer just want his 4k.
What your teammate done to you, is a clear TOS braking and you should report that.
There's no 4k if he lets one survivor escape. Also, can't report with no video evidence.

I didn't say I let anyone go. I want the 4K to get the challenge done. Not to mention the times I have done it. The other survivor hasn't purposely lead me to the other survivor. Never had a survivor do that. That I am aware of.
No but that's what this forum thread I started was about so I was assuming that's what you were talking about.
-
I guess it depends on what region you're in. I'm on PC in the U.S. and survivor is currently offering 100% bonus BP to anyone who plays, I never see killer offered any bonus BP which is weird.

I have done this tactic in the past if I'm doing a challenge where I need to kill everyone or when doing adepts. I'm not a big fan of just slugging and looking for the other survivor so I will often just injure the other one in the hopes that they will seek the other survivor out to be healed. Sometimes I get over zealous and accident slug and then need to let them wiggle free.
Kind of scummy if you let the a teammate lead them to the other survivor and then kill the one that was ratted out, and then let the one who ratted them out go free.
-
