  • So, 60 seconds of immortality isn't a get out of jail free card?

  • @azame said:

DS is fine the term "anti tunnel" came from the community and was never attended that's why DS was a escape jail free card in the first place. BT was anti tunnel perk. You have to ask why do survivors run DS? The meta perks became meta because of the way killers played that being tunneling the slugging that's where unbreakable comes in.

I'm not saying killers cant play this way but you cant play a certain way then expect survivors to not adjust there builds to counter it.

One more thing the famous unbreakable counters out counter to DS well stridor counters our counter to iron will so what's the difference?

It is fine to run DS if you don't want to get tunneled, but when you don't tunnel and it's used, it's a get out of jail free card.

  • That movie is the literal definition of torture porn. God please no.

OP's idea is to technically nerf SWF by buffing both solos and killers. When killers get buffed, solos might need some help.

    True, that's perfectly fair.

I 4k'd on the map against a 3 man swf as clown. I used corrupt for early game gens which is the biggest problem the start game collapse will fix that. That's why corrupt is good it gives you time to get downs before the first gen is done.

You used a single match. I 4K'd on Haddonfield as wraith recently against a suspected 4 man swf of Neas with toolboxes. I use corrupt, but still that map is huge and against a good team, you can't really win because of how large it is. Gen speeds aren't the problem, map sizes are.

  • Solo queue doesn't need much buffs, and I'm a solo queue main. All we need is more emotes to point out a killer is camping or something. You have perks like better together to help yourself in solo queue.

  • Why? If they need to do a challenge, they can't sit around doing nothing.

    @2ndBusiestmusicnerd

    You contradict yourself.

You say things like “nobody is complaining about the perk countering tunneling” when thats exactly why some killers on these forums complain about it. They think tunneling only counts as tunneling when it is right off the hook.

You like scenarios right? Let me give you one. As a killer I can hook, and proxy camp and while the survivor is being unhooked I can check on other gens...not go for anyone else and come back to hook, only to try to track down and find that same survivor (who just got unhooked moments ago) who is not working on a gen AWAY from the hook... and whose DS (based on many people’s idea) has now become deactivated.

You want limitations because it doesn’t benefit you, when you pretend like you don’t have a target on that player’s forehead. Then want to excuse your reasoning by claiming “I’m not tunneling” because you think that’s the only possible way the perk manages to be used when it is in fact countering that initial motivation to tunnel.

Because in reality (that same exact moment) you tracked down the same survivor who you hooked is the same moment the devs described (and I quote) “if the killer finds the recently unhooked survivor again it will come down to strategy at that point”. Why? Because the survivor no longer has 60 seconds.

Just because you and whoever else you wanna bring into a conversation dont like the combo means it’s “wrong”. Especially when you cling on what YOU personally perceive DS to be, which isn’t.

That's not what a contradiction is. Here's what a contradiction looks like. "Attacking a opinion is silly" then saying "sorry your opinion has been proven wrong". Tunneling IS hitting the survivor right off the hook, and going for them and nothing else, hence the term tunnel vision. If I am going for the unhooker, I no longer have tunnel vision. You can look at DS however you want, it is a fine anti tunnel perk, but anti momentum (what the devs said) is extremely overpowered when there are maps like red forest and Ormond in the game. 60 seconds of immortality is 25% of the game if the survivors play well, and don't forget all 4 survivors can have this combo, meaning 1 minute of immortality for all 4 survivors.

Killers with set up shouldn’t have counters? Trapper would like a word. :P

More like build up like Myers, Oni etc.

You prethrew 2 pallets and the killer breaks them chasing you and you go to throw another on the killer just for the pallet to instabreak and the killers stunned for a second. How do you react?

When I know they have it, I don't get greedy for stuns.

Aha finally someone who can post an actual semi-decent video!

Issue being that the build is ######### on Pyramid head, you never want to break pallets let alone use brutal, and Tru3 wasn't exactly playing well that game, but I will have to give it to you. There's a video showing gen speeds being an actual issue.

    Thank you.

Yeah, brutal is only good on nurse.

  • Sorry about mentioning you @ScottJund but people have been discussing this combo a lot recently after your video, and can you explain to them why this combo and DS as a perk used even if your not tunneling is so broken? Cheers.

You can't win. It's like talking to a wall with these people.

They'll throw any, and every scenario they can think of and try to change and mold the perk to benefit their poor unsportsmanlike habits.

Next they'll say it'll deactivate once you use an Exhaustion Perk.

I don't think you understand why people hate DS so much. You defend it by saying "don't tunnel them off the hook", when nobody complains about it being an anti tunnel perk. It is simply 60 seconds of immortality now. If you think DS is an anti tunnel perk, then it shouldn't activate if you don't tunnel right? This isn't a rarity either. It happens like every second game where I get hit by DS when I didn't even tunnel.

DS counter? dont tunnel and slug, go and patrol the gens and dont forget to git gud

People don't complain about DS because it is an anti tunnel perk. let me give you a scenario. Just hooked someone as wraith, cloak, see scratch marks going to a hook, go back, hit the unhooker with make your choice and instant down them. I hook the unhooker, I cloak, see the unhooker on nurses calling hit them, pick them up and get hit with DS. I have 2 options now. Pick them up or slug. If I pick them up I get striked, if I slug, they pick themselves up.

Ngl man if they've split the gens that we'll then you seriously misplaced MD. That maps so big you need to get a genlock instantly or hope survivors are pepega.

I hate mother's dwelling more than Ormond now. 2 platform gens, largest map in the game, imbalanced loops and windows etc. It can be literally impossible to stop a gen from being finished when you spawn in, because of how big it is. I only used the corners gens as an example. Having 2 platform gens so far apart is extremely op.

  • @EmpireWinner said:

    Apply more pressure

Yeah, I'll apply pressure to the last 3 gens on different corners of the map on mother's dwelling, thanks.

Say someone believes something ( the moon is made of cheese) based on some wrong information they received when they were very young and influenced.

So now that person creates an opinion based on this wrong information ("we should steal the moon cheese so we can use it to barter with Winnie the pooh for the safe release of the Uyghur Muslim community!")

Wouldn't that opinion, by default, be an incorrect one?

It would, but something as subjective as skill caps in a video game should not be called objectively wrong. Sure, if someone says that they used a rope to climb back up the edge of the earth it's objectively wrong.

    @2ndBusiestmusicnerd

I just said previously the devs themselves have said DS is not an anti tunnel perk. I can link you to where they said this too. That in itself settles that part of the argument.

How do you lose all your pressure? You have a guy on a hook and a guy (probably about to UB) The other two need to make choices and fast. So that's 2 not on gens (automatically) and possible 1 or 2 trying to come to aid the other two.

Again, the whole argument you are trying to make revolves around the very thing that DS isn't strictly about: Tunneling. It's not an anti-tunnel perk, it has a variance againt tunneling because of the new condition they applied in this new DS. However, it was NEVER said it was only meant to be for that. Just added a condition to what IMO was unbalanced previously, because you could use it on first down.

It is really appalling to me how so many red ranks I face everyday don't even see the light of day of this perk. Yet I come on the forums and the same handful of people continue to arbitrate by posting a video of someone else's "opinion". When it was made very clear how the perk operates.

Yeah, the devs said it isn't an anti tunnel perk, but that's the problem. The main defense against DS now is that it fixes tunneling and only bad killers get hit by it. It really is designed to be like an anti tunnel perk, but right now it's only a little better than old DS, meaning it's still a get out of jail free card, which shouldn't be in the game.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1476624#Comment_1476624

    @2ndBusiestmusicnerd

Right.... and my counter point to that was that perks are meant to be able to be combined. Much like there are strong survivor perk combos, there are strong killer combos.

If the only reason you can provide for why something shouldn't work the way it does is "It's annoying and it bullies the killer" , then to that I say... you have slugging accessibility 24/7.... many killers have strats around that with perk combos (Infectious + Deerstalker) that are just as annoying and no one is complaining about those.

We aren't discussing deerstalker and infectious are we? DS and unbreakable is extremely stupid. It gives you a full minute of immortality regardless if you tunnel or not. Let's say I'm playing hag. Place a trap at the hook, guy gets unhooked, teleport back and hit the unhooker with make your choice and hook him. The unhooked guy is self caring in the distance and I see him with nurses calling, I hit and down him. Now I have 2 options 1: Pick the guy up and lose all of my pressure on this guy when I didn't even tunnel. 2: Leave him on the ground only for him to pick himself up and lose all of my pressure. That is absolutely stupid, regardless of how many times you can use it. There aren't any killer combos as strong and uncounterable as that.

  • This is the worst map in dbd right now along with red forest maps, blood lodge and Haddonfield. Too big, too many loops connected etc. What I'm trying to say is this map is piss.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    I like this map.

Provided I'm playing survivor. And I'm not playing Claudette. And my teammates are smart.

In other words, I hate this map with a burning passion and wouldn't complain if the entire DLC got deleted and/or revamped. :)

    But... Jeff.

  • I hope so. It was my favourite event, I had so much nostalgia associated with it <3.

    @Komodo16

It doesn't force you to eat it because there is counterbility to it. You slug. Which last time I checked was already an abusive built-in mechanic killers use. Or no?

So Spirit Fury + Enduring Combo is annoying but you forgive it becauseeee? Yeah. Sorry but I am not buying that. You are meant to be able to combine perks. Unbreakable counters Slugging which again, isn't a perk. It's a mechanic you have available all the time. You can only pick yourself up once.

You missed the point of the thread. The title is Ds AND unbreakable, meaning slugging is useless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7007JzDroCM&t=64s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_vLlMdu1Sc

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    Define "misuse".

One could also point out that there are killer perks that are brought as a combo. As an example Spirit Fury + Enduring. Are they being misused too?

I guess it doesn't matter how many times it is said by anyone or even the devs. DS is NOT an anti-tunnel perk. Add penalties to the amount of Tunneling and Camping that is done in the game, and then I will take a DS rework serious. Thanks

    Whataboutism.

  • Yeah, the reason why people complain about DS is not because it's an anti tunnel perk, but I get hit by DS a lot even when I don't tunnel. It's an extremely cheap perk and you suggested the best rework possible for it to make it more of an anti tunnel perk.

  • @Komodo16 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1476464#Comment_1476464

Ok first don't say ######### like that. I am sure lots of people play both sides. So do I. But I prefer survivor, because killer is too stressful or too easy when you play only good killers to avoid being wrecked. Frankly I can hit rank 1 and I have my ups and downs but it gegs boring playing the same killers and worrying about being bullied and crap. Survivor is more relaxing in that sense, but can be just as aggravating but I enjoy it more. Second I know both sides well enough to say when you get slugged all game just to be a dick that isnt right or fair or fun. I only made this because I had a game against a perma t3 meyers and he slugged over and over with only 2 hooks the whole game and he even said he just wanted to be a jerk. And when I asked for peoples opinion on what he did I get the standard oh you were in red forest you should have won or gen rushed. Like ok? Do you not know that bad rng can easily change the sides chances? Or when we get constantly slugged and have 2 people down and 1 being chased like what can we do? Do gens? Yeah see that's the issue as scott jund even said if you snowball you cant be gen rushed and that's just that. But this guy did nothing fair. Uses a cheap add on and then nods his head to the last survivor. Sorry but until I have people answer that post with sincerity in how they feel instead of blaming me and my team then my mindset will change. So since you play both sides go look at my post and comment accordingly and then we will see how you look at things objectively.

First of all I agree to your original post. But let me say some things. First of all perma tier 3 Myers is not cheap, it is extremely high risk high reward, and it is your team's fault for giving it to him. I play both sides now, but I like killer more, and I agree that these forums have more killer mains than survivor mains. Getting slugged all game may not be fun, but it is essential sometimes (not like that Myers, he didn't need to slug). Anyway, I have to go now, but I will write more soon.

  • Bond and better together for me are amazing because I am a solo queue main. These 2 perks make solo queue a lot of fun. Dead hard is something I use regularly as well.

  • I like horror games and this game has a lot of strategy. I love being able to outplay my opponents at loops as killer. I love Oni for his fun power, that I can use in many ways (snowballing being the most efficient). I love hag because it feels like I'm playing chess, and I have so many trap types to choose from. I love playing wraith for being able to sneak up, body block and get an easy first hit. I also love his add-ons. I love using pyramid head to deny loops and snowball with cages. I love being a solo queue survivor using this perk build. Dead hard for distance, diversion for nice pebble plays, better together to tell team mates I'm on a gen, I also use inner strength for pocket healing.

  • @gatsby said:

Running Iron Will, Resilience, Blood Pact and Dead Hard. I'm at the point where I've realized that healing doesn't even matter very much unless its convenient. Being injured in this game is perfectly fine and its not worth going out of your way to heal if you have the right perks.

If I run into another survivor, my blood pact is nearby or someone has a perk like We'll Make It, of course I'll take some heals, but its not the end of the world if I spend half the trial injured in most cases.

I actually like running no mither for a challenge with this build instead of iron will. No mither also removes blood, sound and slugging from the game making it quite fun. Also, with dead hard for distance, I feel perfectly safe being 1 hit at all times.

why not, but imo he's really boring, he has great cosmetics tho. even quentin is way better than jeff lol

Quentin is GOD, what are you talking about? I love how he looks like a goblin and he has great prestige cosmetics.

  • @Khakuate said:

they should just remove legion at this point

jeff is a trash survivor which no one cares about, ormond is a fps eater map, heavily survivor biased and legion is a boring and unfun killer

    i want my money back

Can we keep Jeff? I like my boy's black metal and post apocalyptic cosmetics. Legion and Ormond can go away though :).

  • Old Freddy was very powerful when played well. When I felt very toxic as old Freddles, I would run dying light, black box and a ivory mori. Find obsession instantly, hook them, mori them, and dying light for the rest of the game. However, he was a great and interesting killer. He had amazing slowdown, and played like a better hit and run killer.

  • I like buying cosmetics seperately most of the time. I don't care about pants, so now with combined sets, I need to pay more cells.

  • I really don't understand why people divebomb hooks without BT.

  • I'm an Oni main. What you mentioned about early game is correct and you should be playing safe. When he's in his power, there isn't much you can do, but you can try some things. Long walls and short loops completely counter his power, and can be found on most maps. You might also have to play his mindgames correctly, but the red stain is always visible giving you tons of counterplay. Most killers with set up shouldn't have much counters, because they require so much build up.

Wasent egc created to prevent survivors from holding the game hostage? So why does it matter that survivors can 99 the gate?

Counters blood warden completely, and I don't think it was JUST designed to stop the survivors from holding the game hostage. If they really were going to stop taking the game hostage, a timer would be on all the time.

  • The stand mini series from the 90s, people hated that ######### because of the guy who played Randall Flagg. I found it entertaining, as it's one of my favourite books.

  • I love playing against him. I love the aesthetic of a cowboy killer, and his small terror radius and terror radius music scare me so much. It brings the horror back into dbd, and I love him.

  • When I have a great time, and I get consistent hooks.

I wasn't responding to OP. It isn't OP, it's just annoying. However it is OP when used with DS.

Right, because people who shoot up schools definitely dont have underlying mental issues, family problems, or a slew of other things that could cause that type of reaction.

I was bullied pretty hard, and I didnt as much as fight anyone over it. Shooting a school over bullying is just the final straw/scapegoat.

Also, you're comparing a VIDEOGAME to a school shooting. Proving my point that you take it too seriously and personally.

    Jesus christ...

The game might have had a 9 year old fanbase.

I guarantee to you that Silent hill and Stranger things fanbase is below 18. I also guarantee you that the majority of people who play dbd are below 18.

I also guarantee you that lots of kids watch horror movies, maybe even more then their adult fanbase. Yet leatherface, ghostface, Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Demogorgon and PH are all in the game.

And again. read what we say. You are just repeating yourself over and over again.

Do kids even know silent hill exists?
