So when I started this project I thought it would be impossible but this strategy actually works 100% of the time and a lot of YouTubers talk about it.

    So you need

    1. Adrenaline

    2. Sprint Burst or lithe

    3. Prove thyself

    4. DS, streetwise, or borrowed time

Item: at least 2 survivors with toolboxes

When you see the killer and the killer chases you, just run straight and use your exhausted perk. When you get hit just run straight again. This chase will always last at least 80 seconds if you did it correctly. 3 gens will always be done. One person goes for the unhook and one person gets chased while the other is glued to a generator. After the save the two survivors jump on a generator immediately. The last 2 gens will pop before the survivor getting chased is downed. Adrenaline goes off and everyone is healthy and the end gates are powered.

I have tested this with a 4 man and it works legitimately every single time.

I want to see the youtube video of your 4 man SWF only running in a straight line with this build and getting 3 to 4 escapes, 10 times in a row. No brand-new parts.

Yes, because I'm sure the game is always like this at all times. Funny how people with weird complaints always seem to only face SWF sweat squads 100% of the time and nothing else.

    Ain't this the truth.

Lately as soon as survivors see i play doc 1 dcs out of every 10 games...just a curiosity I know people DC vs freddy Myers and spirit but what makes a person say nope I would rather take the penalty? A friend of mine dcs if he gets haddonfield as killer🤣

I don't see how you only see 1 DC out of 10 games. I would say I see 1 DC in every 4 games.

The average survivor is pretty bad at the game if you think about it. If you go against a very good survivor team, unless you're Nurse/Spirit then you won't get close to a 3k/4k and this is universally accepted.

Just because you 3k/4k in most games against bad survivors doesn't mean the killer role is ''easy'' lol. You can call it easy, but it's still harder than survivor which is just M1 simulator.

No, the average player, survivor or killer, is average and the average player is the largest majority of the player base. The game can't just be balanced toward the 3.8% of red rank players, the game has to be balanced across all levels of play or 96.2% of the players quit playing the game. If 3.8% of red rank players are considered great, then there are 3.8% that are bad based on normal distribution. The rest of the entire player base will be between great players and bad players.

  • @Zozzy said:

You can't balance for bad players because bad players eventually, or have the potential to get good. Then we have what we have now. $ man swf that don't suck win every game (depip squad)

Yes only the red ranks get to play. The rest need to shut up and watch some tutorials and learn.

That makes no sense. 96.2% of the players are not bad. The largest majority of players are average. 3.8% of players will be Great, 3.8% of players will be Bad. The other 92.4% are going to be between the 2, standard normal distribution.

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2025613#Comment_2025613

    Stupidity doesn't represent imbalance.

I just played a game where i was on the other side of the map while the other 3 randoms stayed next to a slugging oni and all went down. The killer won because they were to dumb to spread out or only cared about tome challenges.

Anything below rank 1 is automatically disqualified from testing how strong killer is and even then you get yellow ranks in red because of the terrible emblem system.

So only the people in red ranks get to play the game. Everyone else should just quit?

And imbalance in the lower ranks is just as bad as an imbalance in the upper ranks. You can't just balance a game only toward only 3.8% of the game and not care about the rest of the players, that's just a great way to alienate 96.2% of the player base.

I really don't understand all the hate Self Care gets. It is just as time efficient as another Survivor healing you. Maybe more time efficient since you don't have to go run somewhere to find someone to heal you.

Can Self Care get used badly or in bad situations? Sure, but that doesn't make it a bad perk.

You get more gen progression with 1 person self caring and 1 person working a gen compared to 2 people healing then 2 people doing a gen. People saying that having another survivor heal you is better than self care is flat out wrong. It has been proven.

  • @fogdonkey said:

I think the survivor who DCd was toxic, not the killer.

Both are toxic. In fact, the Killer is literally causing the survivor to disconnect. Hey everyone, survivors get fed up with DBD too.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2025667#Comment_2025667

I wouldn't go hide halfway across the map. Even at gen, it uses more time to heal someone else and then do a gen than for someone someone selfcare themselves by you. It's been tested that you use less time doing that even without someone must be chased by the killer. I've done it numerous times. The major issues with completing gen first then healing is it obviously notifies the killer and if you are mangled you repair slower anyways. If you heal first or at the same time the killer doesn't know you specifically healed by the gen.

You are absolutely right. Self Care is faster for Gen progression that letting someone heal you. Inner Strength is not bad but you can't count on it without wasting a slot of a totem finder. Second Wind is even more iffy than Inner Strength. Pharmacy is about as risky as Second Wind (You waste time looking for the Killer Shack or a Box and you run the risk of someone already opening the Killer Shack Box). The only thing better at healing that Self Care is a Med-Kit.

Nobody is saying you can’t run away in a straight line, we’re discussing it in terms of balance. Why should survivors be able to run the killer across the entire map just by holding forwards? Why should they be able to waste so much of the killers time with little or no skill required?

Its no different to all the threads complaining about how Freddy can have the highest killrates without requiring as much skill as other killers. Its a question of balance. Players on either side should have to work for their victory.

Which isn't the case currently. Killer is crazy easy right now. 2/3s of the games I've played, the Killer gets a 4k. I thought maybe it was because I played solo queue, so I started playing Killer and out of the 10 games I played, only 1 was not a 4k, it was a 3k.

  • @Lukeishness said:

I can't even count he amount of times I've gotten screwed over by my teammates that self care in corners instead of doing gens. For the love of god, stop running self care. Bring a medkit or better yet, find another survivor to heal you.

You do realize that someone healing you takes about half the time Self Care does. So, if 1 person Self Cares and Another does a Gen, that would equal the same amount of gen time as 1 survivor healing another survivor then both doing a Gen.

I guess you can run around with 1 health state and let all Killers be a tier 3 Michael Myers.

  • Not really. I've been keeping track of my games for the past 60 to 70 games and I'm seeing an average of 2/3s of my games being 4Ks. I thought it was something weird with matchmaking, so I started playing Killer, which I've played far less then survivor, and every match I had was a 4K.

And it's not just me. I'm seeing other people keeping track of their games and they're getting the same numbers as I. There was a Leatherface main that posted just last week, in which every one of his games were either 3Ks or 4Ks. Also spoke with another survivor main that was pretty much seeing the exact same.

Even Ortz, a killer main, admitted in one of streams that him and other streamers don't want the game balanced. And why would you when part of your revenue is from 4k survivors 50+ times in a row.

  • Honestly, it's because survivor is way to weak in general. I've kept track of 30 games last patch and about 40 to 50 this patch. I'm getting 2/3s of my games being 4ks. I thought I would try killer, even though I play survivor way more and I'm getting easy 4ks as killer. It doesn't even feel worthwhile to play killer because it's so easy. The map size nerf just gave to big an advantage to killers.

  • Well, to be honest. Survivor is so neutered right now, the Devs should just put bots in the game and be done with it. Killer is way to easy right now.

  • @Crowman said:

I had a game today where I had slugged someone on the ground, started a chase with another survivor who was nearby, see discordance light up. After getting a pallet thrown and watching them run to shack I decide to go to the discordance gen only to get hit by a ds.

Really annoying considering the slugged guy has unbreakable and lost out on popping that gen.

I still 4k'd that game but the change to ds can't really come soon enough.

Hi, I'm a Killer that is getting 4ks but I want my 4ks to be easier.

Killer is so pathetically easy now that you might as well go against bots at this point.

    swf with comms.

we're just gonna ignore the fact that solo q exists and slowing down gens would be a huge detriment to them?

I have to say, I'm about done with this game because the game has become balanced toward SWF streamers that have comms and run the best add-ons, that solo has pretty much become impossible. I've been keeping track of my games for this patch and last patch and I'm not seeing the point because game after game after game, I die and 66% of my games, the killer is getting a 4k. There's another person that frequents these forums and he's getting the same stats as I am. About 5 to 10 of these games are as killer. Every killer game I've gotten a 4k. I shouldn't get 4ks with a Killer, which I'm weaker at playing and hardly ever survive as survivor. Last patch I did 26 games, this patch 27.

It's generally accepted that SWF communication imbalances the game. As quality of life adjustments are made to improve solo Survivor communication, logical corresponding counterbalances need to be made for killers to prevent killers experience being made miserable, further increasing Survivor queue times as less killers play.

The Non-Tier 1 killers are already getting around a 70% 4ks a game. If anything, killers need to be nerfed.

This is what I've seen in patch 4.5.1

If the killer face camp me at end game then a survivor unhooks me with borrowed time. Is it abuse?

I'm agreeing with you. Beelzebop is the heretic.

  • Make the Killer a survivor so we don't have to deal with a lame, non-atmospheric killer that doesn't fit. We already have Legion, we don't need other edgy killers. And we definitely don't need killers with pastel pink and blue knives. Next will have a killer in a banana costume.

  • I really don't see anyway to abuse Borrowed Time, unless you're talking about survivors making unsafe saves with Borrowed Time because they have Borrowed Time.

Twins, terrible design that encourages slugging and camping. Most matches are played on the ground.

Huntress, because hatchet hitboxes are completely absurd, a lot of my recent games have been against Iri heads.

Basement trapper, if someone gets downed you might as well let them die cause he's got the entire building locked down. Or trade hooks which is extremely boring. It's basically face camping at that point.

The rest I don't really have any problems with.

    What about basement Hag?

I will agree her power is broken, but when is the last time you went against a nurse who plowed right through you? There are other more important things to deal with.

Just because players don't play Nurse much, doesn't make her any less overpowered. I'd much rather have a nice balanced killer that everyone can play and can play against rather than a killer that is a waste of matchmaking time for both the player and survivors because she's a guaranteed 4k.

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1996221#Comment_1996221

Ok why though? If someone takes the time and effort to learn Nurse they should be rewarded.

Because a good Nurse is an instant 4k, literally minutes into the game. Her power is beyond broken. Her power needs a rework so that it's not a teleport. A teleport has no counter play.

  • @Another_LegionMain said:

If the hook counter is to help new survivors (and solo) then why don't they have it to help new killers? If your SWF depending minds get scared with that idea, why not make each survivor have a unique colour to fill the hook circle? Tells the killer how many hooks they have, what order they are hooking survivors and who they have hooked.

Again, it's not about killers, it's about solo queue players and evening the disparities between solo play and SWFs so the game is easier to balance.

Let's narrow the gap between solo play and SWF play so the game can start being balanced better.

  • @AkiTheKitten said:

I think that people focus too much on hook suicide and DC instead of the real problem: why it happens. I've hook suicides before, when I get bugs where I can't play, or when the match is too laggy or when I'm being griefed by other survs. Those are real reasons people hook suicide and they should be adressed

The reason is the matchmaking system. MMR would fix it.

  • @GannTM said:

    Omg Nurse is fine

    No, Nurse is not fine.

Her power is so broken that it needs to be removed from the game entirely.

  • Anyone who says Nurse, Spirit and Freddy aren't overpowered are lying. I love playing Freddy, but yes, he's overpowered. I also think it's ok there are overpowered killers, up to a point. That point is exceeded by Nurse.

  • @Zarr0ch said:

    Usually, yes.

Had 2 dc when no gens were done last night, let the other 2 go. But the pc player still had to tbag at the gate like they were skille for something

You are probably confusing a tea-bag with a thank you. I do the butt-dance to killers that let me go to thank them, because there's really no other way to communicate with killers. Then I'll do a gg ty at the end of the match.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Lol i think i just talked about this today somewhere

If you did, I didn't see it. But I think it would be a great idea to buff perks without having to completely rework them. Plus it takes them so long to rework bad perks anyway.

Jared Leto's Joker is exactly what the Trickster is, LAME. I hope they put a "damaged" tattoo on his face so we know.

  • Well, here's the results so far...

Looks like Trickster is easily winning the Lamest Killer Contest.

    image.png

  • It punishes solo queue players exponentially worse than SWFs.

If it started off the match as a burning totem, then it would do the same job of punishing survivors for gen rushing. There's no need for it to be the only totem that isn't burning at the beginning of the match.

  • I have to say, the Huntress and the Twins are pretty surprising answers. I always thought they were both pretty creepy. That baby is just disturbing.

That's the attitude that keeps ruining good games. "I'm entitled to play however I want". True. Everyone is entitled to be a d*ck.

I love how killers are entitled to be a d*ck by camping and tunneling, but god forbid a survivor butt-dances at the gate. It's like the apocalypse has happened.

  • Guys, you all seem to have forgotten that the "hook info" was added for Solo players. It's to even out solo play with SWFs. Killers don't have SWF, they play at the same level every time.

  • @ChurchofPig said:

These stats are personal to you and doesn't show whether DS or OoO was even in play for you. Also atm when things are still getting fixed for 4.5.0 isn't really the best time to be like "See they shouldn't nerf it yet." Right. They aren't nerfing it yet. Things will be more fixed when DS is change and OoO is still a major wip and when changed (if at all) will probably be around Chapter 20 or 21. We're still a ways away.

If I were the only survivor that's getting stats like these, then this is the weirdest bug I've ever seen.

I'm a good player, not a great player, I'll admit that. However, if me and everyone below red rank 3 is getting stats like this, then there is a serious problem that the Devs need to seriously look into. And I totally think there shouldn't be any nerfs to survivors until the Devs figure out why survivors under red rank 3 are getting slaughtered.

This game needs to be playable and enjoyable for everyone. The Devs are basically giving 4ks to Killers at this point.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1962997#Comment_1962997

Red rank 4, as survivor, where rank 1 is basically free. That says a lot.

Also, tournaments do matter, because it shows that at high levels of play this game is heavily skewed to survivors. It doesn't matter that its not "everyday people" the devs need to be nerfing survivors to bring them in line, and then buffing solo queue survivors by giving them ways to communicate. Take a look at Scott Jund's recent video discussing this exact thing.

5 players at the highest level of play is not the player base. In fact, it's not even 1% of the player base. Normal players do not play the same way and aren't running in SWFs with optimized perks.

Think of this in terms of the Nurse. If high-skilled play indicated a killers strength, then why wouldn't the Nurse be nerfed? It's because almost no one can play her at the skill-cap required to user her. Normal players can't play Nurse at high-skilled levels, so why nerf her based on what less than 1% of the player base can do.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229271/maybe-ds-and-ooo-should-not-be-nerfed-at-this-time

Now do one with tournament results.

Also, you fail to mention what rank you are, and how many hours you have played. Both very relevant to these stats.

Sure, I was Red rank 4 before the patch screwed up emblems and have 1,988 hours on the game. Tournament play does not matter, this game isn't made for tournaments, with the best 4 survivors against the best killer is not what normal everyday people play against.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

A whopping 12 games. Wow. Maybe you should wait until you have more to make a post like this.

15 games with 73% of the games being 4ks. That's 11 out of 15 games were 4ks. Trust me, this isn't just random, this is happening all the time now. That's the reason I think this data needs to be seen.

  • Mind if I collaborate with you, on this season and last patch? I think we really need some data on what's happening. And 68 matches are all we really need for statistically significant, 90% Confidence level and 10% margin of error. I want to do more than that though.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    Nice sample size there, buddy.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229271/maybe-ds-and-ooo-should-not-be-nerfed-at-this-time

That has no bearing on whether or not OoO and DS need a tweak, and everything to do with YOU needing to get better. :)

Actually, it does. If survivors are weaker than killers, then nerfing anything survivor right now is a bad mistake. I'm playing solo and SWF. Since Behavior isn't giving any data, I'm giving you the data I'm seeing in Solo/SWF queue.

  • Dead Hard is probably one of the hardest perks to use correctly. It requires the most skill from survivors to use and use correctly. You have to think when to use it and how to use it to get it's full potential from it. If you mess it up any or it glitches, you just wasted your perk. Sprint Burst is always guaranteed to give you 3 seconds extra chase time. Dead Hard only gives you 3 extra seconds if you time it correctly and it doesn't glitch.

You are literally asking to remove one of the most interactive survivor perks in the game. And honestly, the games pretty killer sided right now, especially with hit boxes. So maybe there needs to be some killer sided nerfs to equal out the game at this point.

  • I'm sorry killers actually need nerfed. You literally have someone that is making 50 4k kill streaks in a row, over and over again, with every killer, then there is a serious problem.

Otzdarva (These are all 4ks or 3ks with a hatch escape)

    • 50 Kill Streak - Hag - Aug 26
    • 50 Kill Streak - Pyramid Head - Oct 1
    • 45 Kill Streak - Plague - Sept 21
    • 35 Kill Streak - Clown - Oct 22
    • 50 Kill Streak - Legion - Sept 17
    • 50 Kill Streak - Michael Myers - Nov 17
    • 50 Kill Streak - Leatherface - Nov 17
    • 50 Kill Streak - Freddy - Oct 1

Otzdarva is a great player, but nobody should be consistently beating everyone, including SWFs, 50 times in a row. Sure tournament survivors are different but everyone else, including SWFs are getting slaughtered. This isn't a one off thing, he's doing it with every single killer and he's doing it with days of each other.

  • Honestly,

The originally idea of the Devs to give Kindred as default to solo queue players is what should happen. I know when I play with friends, that I know to work on a gen while my friend rescues someone or my friend works on a gen while I rescue someone. As a survive with friends, you have built in kindred. Not to mention you know if the killer is chasing someone and you usually know the killers location. Depending on how many SWFs you have.

  • It's funny. I regularly bring in Broken Keys with Wedding Rings so I can see the aura of one survivor. It's kind of like a poor man's Bond. I rarely see killers bring Moris or Franklins Demise in.

Heck, as a Killer, I could care less if someone bring in a Key. I've seen it effectively used so rarely that a Mori or a Franklins in a waste of a perk slot. However, if I see 2 or more flashlights or a lot of toolboxes, I'll bring in Franklin's Demise.

No this isn't. There was a challenge in the rift that you had to escape as the killer's obssession x times. Even if you escaped, but you weren't the obssession, it wouldn't count towards these "stats". Same goes for a lot of challenges like "Escape as Meg" or "Escape as Ace". The sacrifices are higher because killers have a lot of challenges in which they just have to kill survivors by any means.

So killers are doing what they are suppose to do and that shouldn't be counted? LOL

Mind you, this had been an ENTIRE year on survivors getting shafted.

1 … 41 42 43 44 45 … 47
