You mean the perk that requires the killer to stand still and not move and doesn't remove any other sound the killer makes?
-
I expect more post like this the closer Billy's "addon" rework gets.

I've done that when killers dodge too. On PS4 you are still highly likely to end up waiting a long time for another match
How would you feel if you waited that long for a match just for one of your teammates to DC because the killer down them first? Or the killer DCing because you popped too many gens too quickly?
-
bugs
There are and always will be bugs. I don't find survivors DCing because they hit a bug. They DC because they get hit. Killers DC because survivors outplayed them.
bad teammates
not an excuse.
BM
grow a spine or stop playing
not having fun
Welcome to DBD. Fun is very subjective and some only have fun when they are winning.
and really dcing because they want to get out of that match.
Only true statement said.

I play on PS4. Had a killer dodge my lobby last night after waiting 25 minutes because the other 3 survivors all had toolboxes. I waited another 25 minutes for another killer. So, yes it affects you on other platforms as well.
You also had the choice to requeue.
-
Unless you are on XBOX, killers dodging the lobby has no affect on you. The lobby doesn't close and you and your friends/randoms sit and wait for the next killer to join.
DCing once the match starts takes away from those left behind the wait time to find and start the match. If it was a survivor that DC'd, having to face a killer with one less teammate.
It seems to me those that DC only concern themselves with their fun and not the others playing in the match.
-
DCing ruins the fun of the three others that are left behind.

MMR has been discussed as to why it would not be good in an asymmetrical game, a hidden MMR is even worse. The current MM system may as well not exist, so yes, I would place a functional and appropriate MM system ahead of DC bans as it is what dictates who plays with who
Ruin being changed on its own isn’t the issue, it’s how devs have not addressed the maps and reason as to WHY people felt compelled to run it
These two things affect gameplay and enjoyment significantly
DCing isn't an excuse for either of those. Play the hand you were dealt. The inbalanced nature of this game isn't anything new and won't ever be fixed. If you can't stand the way the game is now then start to question why you even bother playing.
-
It's always been easy.

It’s a videogame lol calm down your ego
also casually ignored the other two more critical things i mentioned
MMR and why ruin was used are on the same list as players DCing. Actually, MMR IMO isn't an issue at all.
DCing is a big issue and I find that players that don't want the penalty are those that commonly DC.

Except you are missing the point that people will still leave a game early, a stack is meaningless if you have no points to begin with
also the hidden MMR change mess and lack of addressing why people used ruin are still present, dc bans are nowhere near important
People DC because they are entitled. You can't fix that. I'll take my 25% bonus and farm the point with whoever is left.
-
A pallet wouldn't be able to save you.
-
Survivors saw that you were afk and started farming totems, chest, and boldness points. If survivors could pip without interacting with the killer they would be out the door before you got back.
-
Ignore the killer's fun and all is well.
-
Survivors can kill themselves on hooks all they want. Killer gets a BBQ stack. That's a win in my book.

That sounds fun. Watching a bot slugged over and over for the 4k. Does it recover? does it crawl towards you?
If it's modeled after real survivors it would DC causing another bot to spawn in its place.
-
Buff solo survivor to SWF levels then they will think about buffing killers some.
Actually think is too strong of a term. More like it will be an afterthought. Or maybe a repressed memory. Yeah, that works.
-
No point in playing something you don't enjoy anymore.
-
Husks only benefit killers, so clearly not a priority.
I can see disconnects being an issue with the mobile version and A.I. bots being a necessity. It just means the A.I. killer could be closer to completion.

This doesn't work if the survivor, wait for it, moves to the other side and doesn't screw it up because you'll hit the person on the hook if they do it right. You're literally invulnerable if you're not a potato. Standing there and waiting is the right counter for it though
Then stand there then. Let them risk the life of survivor on the hook.
-
Why are you complaining about this? You can still hit them. It's one of the dumbest stunts I've ever seen survivors try to pull. If you feel like you're incapable of standing to the side of the hook and pressing M1, just stand there and wait.
-
We making a list of builds the Devs need to look into?
I don't think killers are allowed to have fun at the survivors expence.
-
Doesn't matter what you believe or feel is right. The live balance team loves cool downs and charge mechanics.
For everyone that loves Billy there's someone who ######### hates him. Who do you think the Devs are going to listen to?
Billy was always talked about along side Nurse as a top tier killer. Look what happened to Nurse and how ignored the feedback was. It's going to happen to Billy too.
-
Survivors were lazy.
-
The gas mask was too synonymous with NOED slugging 5 blink Nurses. Because of the ensuing PTSD the Devs decided to remove the mask so survivors could enjoy the game again.
🙃
-
4 survivors on 4 gens
Takes 80s to do one gen solo.
Killer can only chase one survivor at a time and only when they down that survivor can they pressure more than one.
On large maps you can't do anything to stop the aggressive M1 holding. You are relying on the survivors being potatoes.
-
Why are you chasing? Pressure gens.
-
I don't play this game at all anymore.
Chased one too many straight line jukers just to get cucked by a skillfull use of Dead Hard. The fact that you can't even bait its use due to the punishment being the same was the last straw. Devs clearly don't care about my fun so why should I care about their game.
-
It's not requiring more skill.
It's a hard cap regardless of skill.
-
I rather play another game. Not like my fun or enjoyment meant anything to the Devs.
-
They already do lose emblem points for staying near the hook.
-
In other words, killers not being able to see isn't a priority.

How would the MMR be measured? What counts as a win or a loss? If I carry the team and die at the end did I still lose? If I did nothing all game but escaped do I win?
Inaccuracy is going to be a given. Like I've said, this game is too simple. You can't rely on short term results but long term averages. Kills and survives. It is the only way. Survive against a killer and some of their Elo goes to you. Killer kills a survivor, some of that Elo goes to the killer. Over time it will level itself out and average out 💩 like keys and moris.

I mean they already tried that with the emblem system.
This would have to be the emblem system on crack, accounting for EVERY little possible play that could be made that would give a big impact in the match.
Emblem doesn't measure skill or performance. It messures what bhvr believes is the correct way of playing and how closely the player played towards that.
What I've asked for in the past is a Elo type system. In the short term the system won't amount to anything but the longer it stays in the more reasonable it will measure player skill.
Simply this game is too simplistic for any true ranking system. But the one it has now isn't good enough.
-
A skilled base ranking system is needed in this game. In the past I've supported that one be created. Implenting it is going to be a challenge and they will undoubtedly mess it up but is the direction they need to go.
-
I've stopped playing. Does that help?

The thing I tested was taking all kind of different angles to attack from and the Survivor moving accordingly, or not at all even.
"It is literally impossible to hit them if they do it correctly, I tested it in KYF" and "and you can't even hit them with Bubba's Chainsaw swinging through the hook." are two different sentences reffering to different things.
It's a free hit and at worse two survivors doing nothing as one dies. Quit making it out to be a free hook save. I basically facepalm every time I've seen a survivor try this.
-
If you play on Steam.
Right-click on Dead by Daylight then click Uninstall. Best fun you could ever have with this game.

...stop playing? Sure why not.

How do you make the same mistake twice? How spaghetti is this code?

Being honest: If you only use whispers tier 1 its effectively a dead perk as its range is so wide its near useless.
Remember radius is exponential(Area = Pi x (Radius^2)) in how much a few more meters actually adds to the total size by a lot.
tier 1 has a 7238.2 meter area of detection.
tier 2 has a 5026.5 meter area of detection.
tier 3 has a 3216.9 meter area detection.
Quiet the difference in areas covered wouldn't you agree and how the first tier is so wide its useless.
Edit: please correct me if I am wrong. I do use this perk btw just tier 1 isn't even worth looking at.
Nobody says the lower tiers are useful. But IMO tier 1 & 2 of any perk shouldn't be used to qualify a perks usefulness. The game would be better off if they removed the tiers.
Anyways, you are making the same mistake as OP. You can find guides for using Whispers on Youtube if you want to learn how to use it.
-
I wouldn't even recommend it to my enemy.
-
Maybe they should stop complaining.
Rip the bandaid off and uninstall this trash.
-
Can't dodge a lobby if I don't play the game.
-
There's nothing wrong with Whispers. What are you going on about?
I really only find whispers good on doctor and no other killer, and even at tier 3, looking for a survivor when your perk procs kinda waste time just looking for one survivor.
That's using it incorrectly. Part of using the perk effectively is using it to know where survivors aren't as oppose to where.

Nurse needs to spam blinks, because she is slower than survivor at base. How can you complain about that? Its like complaining about other killers spamming the W button in order to catch survivors.
And Nurse can't end chases nearly as fast as she used to be. A survivor getting hit and running forward can waste atleast 20-30 seconds of the Nurse's time, because that physically how long it takes for her to catch up again (assuming she used 2 blink for the hit), thats only slighty faster than a regular 115% speed M1 killers takes.
If out in the open its slower. Time save with Nurse is by passing through objects. In the open she is effectively a 4.3 m/s killer if using full charge double blinks.

You'd apply pressure the same way you would as any killer. It's not exclusive a select few.
To give an example, say you have one on the hook, you slugged a second that went for the save, and then you left and found a third survivor to chase. That's three people not on generators, and the hooked survivor will die if they don't go for the save. This isn't an extremely uncommon scenario. Even assuming you don't have somebody slugged, you can have one hooked, one in chase, and a third going for the save, leaving only one person on a generator.
Pressure does not mean only chases.
OMG its so simple!

Do they really need a reason?

How do you know that it's a bug?
