Like I get it survivors are the majority and spend the most money so their needs are met first.
But at the same time without killers then the survivors will have no killers to play with
and then that means no survivor can play games so they won't spend money.
So why are killers treated like ######### again? You need us to play the game.
I see these types of post come up all the time, and I'm both annoyed and vaguely amused at the same time. Some of them claim Killers are the red-headed stepchild, while others claim it is the Survivors. Both viewpoints are nonsense, and born of intense bias and an unwillingness to accept reality. I'm going to point a few things out to you. You can learn from these facts, or you can ignore them and live in a self-serving fantasy world.
- DbD requires both roles for the game to function; there are no Bots.
- There being more Survivors than Killers doesn't matter because without at least 1 per 4 there is no game.
- The DEV (and company behind them) do not have favorites; their job is to keep the Ques moving.
- If the Que bogs down or the game tips to far to one role or the other, they lose players, and thus money.
- BEhavior doesn't like losing money, and works very hard to keep things moving and roughly balanced.
- Most people in DbD play both roles, i.e. Killer and Survivor.
- Many people indulge in extremely myopic behavior.
- Many people indulge (or suffer from) confirmation bias.
- Myopic behavior and confirmation bias combine to create selfish, entitled jerks (all genders).
- Some people then come here and post nonsensical rants about favoritism on the part of BEhavior.
So which do you think is more likely:
- The DEV (and the company behind them) just like Survivors better, and are willing to flush their profits down the toilet and kill the golden goose to make them happy.
- You are one of those people discussed in 7-10 above?
- Or you are just frustrated and you let your emotions run away with you this time, failing to look at the big picture. And now that you understand the facts, you can consider things in a less biased way?

Okay, so to start this story I was trying to get bloodpoints with Doctor since I heard he's good at getting bloodpoints. It was my first game playing as him and I injured this Felix, he was camping at a pallet but with a quick swing I managed to down him, I was in the middle of the animation of picking him up when my game froze for about 20 seconds. I was kicked out of Dead by Daylight and after a few minutes I managed to launch it again, I got into the lobby and saw that I couldn't play for 6 HOURS! (I recently DCed a few times due to my teammates doing nothing, and when I mean nothing I mean there was one AFK Claud, one Meg hiding in a locker, one standing looking at the killer, and one AFK)
I didn't even intentionally DC and I can't play for 6 hours, that's until 12 o' clock tonight, this is really stupid and just annoys me, I also lost my rank. So good job BHVR.....Good job
Don't DC for any reason short of an emergency and you won't have this issue. If you DC in too short a time period they stack up with ever increasing punishment times. Take this experience as an educational moment. If you start a game, finish it.

Earlier today I played a match that challenged unlike any other. I was facing a team that wasn't doing gens and were mostly hiding. However, EVERYTIME I would find and down a Survivor, someone would come and flashlight blind me. Either the downed Survivor would crawl to an area making it easier to blind me, or I would face the wall or some other obstruction and as soon as I walk to the hook, I got blinded.
Here are some particular details of the match: I was Deathslinger. I'm a yellow rank killer, and I am still getting used to this Killer. Two of the Survivors were Blendettes, and one of them picked Dead Dawg Saloon as their map offering (so you already know where this is going. lol) I was able to kill the two non-Blendettes, but this match dragged out for more than 30 minutes with me getting 8 hooks during that time. In the end, rather than DC, I went down to the basement and faced the wall so that the Blendettes would do gens. Of course they kept making noises to try to get me to chase them, but I had to jump on a call for work.
So...any advice for playing against a coordinated team that was holding the game hostage through flashlight bullying?
P.S.--This was one time that I really needed Lightborn. lol
Bully Squads are annoying to me because they often cost us new Players. Beyond that, once you understand the foolishness of the practice, you can easily destroy them and make them suffer. Obviously, if you have access to Lightborn and see a bunch of Flashlights in the Lobby you can just put the Perk on. This is the easiest counter. However, not everyone (particularly new people) have it. Thus there are several things you can do:
- Always face a wall when you pick someone up and start spinning the second you see any light and looking up.
- Get used to using your ears. This is important for Killers. You can chase and down a Survivor blind.
- Don't let them trigger you; that is their entire goal.
I love pulling Bully Squads now, because I consider them easy games where I'm going to score maximum points and make their lives really miserable. Consider the fact that they are not doing Generators. They are not moving toward an escape. They literally only have one way to win, i.e. make you quit. If you don't quit, and just hum to yourself as you go along, you will beat them or eventually they will have to start playing the game to try and get out. Consider the following:
- Flashlights will eventually run dry if you don't quit. You are stronger than their Energizer Bunny.
- You can slug all the night long. Their staying close together to try and do their saves makes it pretty easy.
- Their other Perks like Unbreakable and whatnot are not unlimited.
It comes down to who has a stronger will and more patience. Think of a Bully Squad as a training game, where you get near unlimited practice chasing. Since they are not rushing the Generators you can get all the practice you want. Eventually they are going to mess up or you are just going to get down your moves against the flashlights. You can also play whatever Killer you want and just pour the BP into unlocking Lightborn on Hillbilly. If you do use that Perk, remember to really screw with the Bully Squads by "pretending" to not have it. Still look at walls, try to turn away from the lights. The longer they think they can stun you, the longer they are going to take risks which you will make bank on.

His "Easy" label tilts me while Spirit and Freddy are listed as Hard.
I know, right? Spirit and Freddy are plug and play. Trickster is turning out to have the goods, but it takes a LOT of work to learn to use the creep.
-
The Trickster still has a long month of playtesting before we can really get a good feel for him. What I will say is that each day the Tricksters people face have been getting more and more accurate with those knives. The first day or so the Trickster was lucky to get a kill. Then I started seeing 2+ and today I saw multiple Tricksters 4K and they were using the knives, not just running around M1.
The Trickster is, in a way, a lot like the Nurse. He stinks until you pass some invisible line and get around his learning curve. Then he seems to be more than functional. If he keeps improving at the rate we are seeing, by the end of the month people will be asking for nerfs. I'm not joking, nor am I making a final assessment. I am merely reporting on what I've been seeing, and unfortunately experiencing first hand.
The Trickster is definitely mislabeled as "easy" when he is most certainly not.

I see too many people making the case that it is, but it simply is not. It is a party game. For those disagreeing:
- post-game doesnt reward you for whatever you decide a win is, nor does it punish you for whatever you decide a loss is.
- skill rarely dictates who wins, RNG has a bigger impact on the end result of a game.
- There is a way to play around the RNG by playing as if you were about to lose the entire game, sure, but you can do that in party games too.
- Both sides can "win" if their personal win condition is met. You can double pip as a survivor and consider that a win even though the killer gets a 4k and decides that to be their win. Not a single competitive game has both sides winning, if both sides perform equally good, it tends to be a tie.
- You could have a 50 game "losing" streak, while still gaining ranks. While also having a 50 "win" streak while losing ranks.
- You cannot choose to play casual games or competitive games, therefor the default goes to casual.
- Any tournament won is essentially meaningless.
For people saying you're competing with the opponent. No, you're really not. You dont share the same objectives. You are in opposition of someone. Opposition doesnt mean competition. In war, you dont compete with the enemy who kills the most soldiers, but enemy soldiers are your opposition. Just because you think you're competing, doesnt mean you're actually competing.
The competitive scene of dead by daylight is more comparable to the competitive scene in speedrunning. You are competing with other players in the competitive scene.
But all the facts point to Dead By Daylight being a casual party asymmetric horror game.
It could be a competitive game at one point, sure, but the only competitive scene is third party organized tournaments. But what does winning a title in those tournaments mean outside the third party competitive scene? Nothing, because the game is not competitive.
Incorrect. The game doesn't define how it is played. DbD is as competitive as the individual Players taking part in a match, or tracking their progress, and so on want to make it. Competitive is defined by individuals, not the game, hobby, process, or whatever. I've seen people get competitive over Xmas cards before.

The easiest solution is not show any Survivor ID info either, or even the Survivors until we log into the match.

So heres my questions, why even bring up that they were console players in the title? What makes that one fact so relevant that it has to be in the title? If they were on pc would you have put that in the title? I understand in the context of your post, as it's relevant. However putting it in the title like that makes it seem you just wanna crap on console players, and just makes me laugh at the rest of your post.
I want them, if they come here, to see it. I want them to know they aren't going to get away with it. The names are pretty... hrm... known too. I just wish I could state them here.

Yep. This was coordinated from the start. They clearly knew one another and didn't somehow work it out in game. How are Console Killers loading in with Survivors they know?

And yet thousands upon thousands of us (facing the same statistical appearance of NOED as you) do just fine. Riddle me that? :)

Nobody but the DEV know how MMR is going to work, and I'm not even sure THEY know yet either. Assuming they get it to work (which I doubt), we have no way of knowing if it will help or hurt the game. This is the undiscovered country, so to speak. To the people saying a working MMR will automatically be bad for the game, I have to wonder what you think is good for the game. That would seem to infer that you think the total lack of (or bad) matchmaking is good for it? That seems a rather weird stance to take. But then again, I'm sure many of you are simply parroting back what your favorite Influencer said in a video.
Me? I'm undecided, because we don't have enough information. In a perfect world, I think we should be given as close a matchup as possible. I happen to think that every single match should be a hard fought as hell. But then again, I like a challenge and don't get my jollies beating up on people who have no business being in the match with me. I find it weird that there are people who think getting matches that will require them to work will ruin the game. I mean like... wow... I don't know what to say to that.

I'm that way with all forms of video games these days. I'm 35 and I've been disappointed enough times that I rarely pre order anything anymore. About your sincere buyer's remorse, I sincerely don't care. I know that is harsh, but who is this post aimed at? If you want to talk to the DEV, the Feedback & Suggestions area seems more appropriate for your complaint. Something constructive might help too. Here in the General Discussions area, I can only assume you want other like-minded people to come over and commiserate with you, a regular pity party. I'm sure some will, but it is kind of... well... sad. If you are unhappy with the game, move on. If you are unhappy with your purchases, chalk it up to a learning experience. There are things I regret every day, but I don't choose to burden my friends and family with them. I mean, why would I want to be a downer?

My personal view is that Star Struck and Borrowed Time BOTH should be tied to a range, not Terror Radius. Right now, as Myers using the Cracked Mirror (or in Tier-1) I screw over Borrowed Time. With no Terror Radius, it won't activate even if I'm standing right there staring at them unhook. By the same token, Star Struck won't work with no Terror Radius either. Thus, you would have to try your combination with the Vanity Mirror.
I have also played around with this idea, taking:
Star Struck, Agitation, Monitor & Abuse, and Corrupt Intervention
Add-on(s): Dead Rabbit and whatever else you like that doesn't need Tier-3 to function properly.
*Corrupt Intervention ensures you have time to find the Survivors and get to Tier-2 where you now have your full speed and short range wall hack. Proceed to normal search and destroy. Dead Rabbit +Monitor & Abuse ensures you have zero Terror Radius when not in a chase and can sneak up pretty easily. Down someone and if you already can see someone, pick them up and go after them for an Insta-Down. If you don't see someone right away, Stalk with your Wall Hack to find the one hiding nearby first, then pick up, and rush over to start that chase and get the Insta-Down. Agitation means that you will be moving fast as hell. While it is true that Mad Grit means less recovery time and slightly more security in holding on to that Survivor for longer, it only really pays off when you get a whole cluster of Survivors together. That does not happen enough to justify (with Myers) the downside of losing Generators at the start of the match while you try to find them.

The point of the PTB since inception as been to gauge player feedback on major additions and changes. This has been the case since 2016. No one is being “unrealistic,” this is what they have said multiple time is used to gather feedback and implement improvements before release.
but sure ya cosmetics amirite
Has it been? Has it REALLY? If you go back through the PTB for the last 2+ years you will find that the changes based on Player feedback are almost a zero sum game. While I agree with you that they were, at the start, a bit more inclusive of the feedback they received, that has not been the case for a LONG time. I submit that everything I said before is accurate and has been accurate for two going on three years. The PTB's purpose is NOT what you think. That is what you ASSUME. The proof is in the pudding and, sadly, it supports my cynical supposition, not your optimistic view.

It doesn’t matter if the analogy is technically wrong, the spirit (lol) of it is correct. The PTB is meant to test things and gather feedback for improvements on release. They have proven that they can do such things before. If they fail to do so after a vast majority of people say the same thing, then they deserve the criticism they receive, especially if the most crucial thing in the PTB is still awful on release.
We asked for buffs to Trickster and we got basically a nerf. The devs deserve the criticism they’re getting.
You make the assumption that is what they mean to gather from the PTB. I disagree. Their primary purpose of the PTB is a larger test for bugs and see what we can (and will abuse). You are being unrealistic (as many people are) about the PTB. Do they suggest we give feedback? Sure. That doesn't mean any of it will have any weight whatsoever. They have been coding and doing their internal testing for months. They aren't going to, in the short period from PTB to release, make ANY major changes. By the time they do the PTB they are pretty happy (so far) with what the have. This is what they are doing in this order:
- Test for bugs.
- Test for abusive exploits they missed.
- Looking for Map interface issues.
- Gauging general feedback on cosmetic look (remember cosmetics are very important to them financially).
- Engaging in some minor PR where they make us FEEL like we are involved in the decisions.
Notice that I put our feedback as at the bottom and really only as part of a PR stunt. I want to stress again, that they have already made all their major choices and any changes they make they had already considered beforehand. The only exception are minor changes that require no real coding effort. I submit they already have a change they intend to do, already coded, for after the test. They just hold it off for after the test so it appears the test had a purpose beyond numbers 1-4 above. :)
Does this sound cynical? That is because it is cynical; that doesn't make it any less true. It is my opinion that the PR stunt is an outdated thing that video game companies do, but should discontinue. The level of entitlement people have on the internet these days makes it counterproductive to give them any inclination that they get a say. All that happens (as we have proven here at DbD) is they get angry if every single thing they suggested isn't adopted. Since nobody really agrees on anything, you are assured that you are going to piss off a percentage of them anyway. Had they NOT done the PTB and just released him, and asked for feedback, we would have given it with less "slighted" outrage and they would have said, we are going to take your suggestions into our future hotfixes and reworks. The outcome would have been the same but with less whining on our part. There is ZERO PR value in playtests today. That is the reality.
They would have been far better off just teasing all the cosmetics and dropped him. The same people would have said what they don't like, and they would have said, "we are on it" and all of us would have accepted that it would come about in the future updates. Again, far better approach. The only thing they would lose is numbers 1-3 above, and that can be satisfied with broader internal testing, perhaps by asking certain players to take part by private invite. There are lots of ways to achieve their goals without the PTB that just triggers every entitled yahoo who comes to this Forum.
Let's address your final point, i.e. that people asked for buffs and got nerfs. You go on to say they deserve criticism. I don't disagree with you. I think that by doing the PTB and PRETENDING to ask for suggestions, they are setting themselves up for criticisms when they don't take our advice. I gave a critique too. The difference between mine and that of many others is that I was more constructive about it. I also don't feel entitled to anything. I don't think they are beholden to use my suggestions. They asked; I gave. They went another way. Does that mean I have the right to critique them? Sure. Does that mean I have justification to be angry? No. Does that mean I should be rude or obnoxious? No. Was I wronged in anyway? No. That is the crux of the problem. Many of you act like you were WRONGED somehow, because they didn't take your suggestions. I am pointing out that you were not wronged; you can simply choose not to play the Trickster.

Again just chill, we all want Trickster to get a buff and not accept a dev saying "We need to wait 2 months for data" for them to even start the conversation that this killer needs to be looked at.
A conversation is started in a constructive, polite way. That isn't what has been going on, and the approach most have applied is just going to turn the DEV off from listening to us completely. There are real people on the other side of those screens, people just like you and I. They work hard and do take pride in what they do. Some things work and some things don't, but nobody likes being attacked and pelted with feces 24/7. It is my opinion, that we should be treating others on the internet with the same good manners we do in the real world. I cannot imagine that most of the posters here treat friends, family, co-workers, or even the businesses they interact with the way they do here.
As I have stated before, the DEV are far more vested in their game doing well than you and I. To us, it is just a game (one of thousands). To them, it is their job. It pays the bills. I trust they are going to do what they can with what they have. Their view of things, however, and ours is different. I accept that; you should too for the sake of your own blood pressure. In the end, if you don't like the Trickster, don't buy him. Your problem is solved. Wait for a Killer release that you do like. Do you see where I'm going with this? You (and many others) act as if you are required to buy this Killer you don't like. It makes me laugh.
So no, I'm not going to "chill" when you make fools of yourselves. Give your feedback any way you want, but if you state silly things or do it in an obnoxious way, I'm going to chime in too. A Forum is an exchange of ideas, and sometimes people are going to disagree and take YOU to task over the things you say. That is how this process works. If you don't want to hear from me, don't give me all these poorly thought out analogies and hyperbole to make fun of with my own long, obnoxious posts. Give your feedback in a polite, constructive way and you won't hear a peep out of me. Best of all, they might pay attention to you rather than just ignoring you.

Imagine to chill but here is a rated G version just for ya, imagine you bought a steak and asked for it to be medium-rare but they prepared it well done. You ask them to bring you a new one but told you "We need to wait for a consensus from all of the other customers that it was prepared well done before you get you a new one." But you also learn that this restaurant received feedback weeks before it served you that steak that it was preparing them well done when people wanted their steaks medium-rare.
You analogy is incorrect because you didn't buy a "medium-rare" steak. The Trickster (and Survivor) were released with no surprises. Everyone was told exactly how things worked PRIOR to purchase. They stated exactly what had changed (and what had not) from the play test. Thus, if you chose to buy him with all the information provided, you made the choice after seeing the menu and knowing they only do steaks well-done at this restaurant. It doesn't matter if a lot of customers are requesting medium-rare steaks, when the menu clearly tells you what they are serving. If you are unhappy, find another restaurant. So that is strike two; do you care to try again?
Video games are luxury items. They are not important, nor are they necessary for anyone's health or well-being. We CHOOSE to buy something or we pass on it. That is the long and the short of it; vote with your wallet. I do take issue with the hyperbole and/or people comparing video game companies with first responders. Do I really need to get into why that is an insulting, bad analogy? If the DEV had done a bait and switch, i.e. told us it was going to work one way, and then released it doing something else, that would be worthy of all the hot air and passion. That didn't happen. A bunch of people gave their opinion, but the company went another way. They told us how things were, and left it to us to decide if we want to buy it or not. That seems pretty straightforward and ethical.
So, if all you outraged folks want to continue to treat the release of the Trickster with the kind of passion that SHOULD be reserved for real world issues of injustice, discrimination, and crime feel free to do so. I'm going to poke fun at it though.

There should be an option to report these killers for unsportmanship gaming. As a new player to dbd i have been killed on site and not given a fair chance of playing any part of this game.
What you define as bad sportsmanship is probably not how the game defines it. The Killer's job is to prevent the Survivors from escaping the match and killing as many of them as possible. They have all sorts of tactics they can employ in doing so. The only things that any Player (Killer or Survivor) is beholden to are:
- Don't cheat, either by hack or lag spike.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
That's it. That is all that is required to be a good sport when playing Dead by Daylight. No Killer is obligated to any particular behavior otherwise. They can Camp, Tunnel, Slug, and/or Mori you if they feel like it. They can Herd you, trick you into 3-Gen situations, and even use you as bait. They can take you down into the basement and cover the approach with traps. They can make sure they hook multiple Survivors near each other and a Generator they are protecting so that they can kill three birds with one stone. The list goes on and on.
*I'm not even getting into the various Builds and Add-on(s).
There are two roles in this game. Most of us play both Killer and Survivor. Neither role is responsible for the fun of the others. This is a PvP game and the fun comes in the challenge. If that isn't for you, the internet is teeming with thousands upon thousands of games you might like better. I'm really not trying to be mean or sarcastic. I'm simply laying out facts for you, so you can make an educated choice. I hope you stay and become a great Killer. If so I'm sure I will both fight against you and by your side from time to time. If not, happy trails.

Whatever you might think about tunneling, camping and slugging, you have to admit that if DbD would be played officially competitive these approaches would probably get prohibited by the rules.
And that's the point. the devs seem currently out to make dbd e-sports ready, yet they say tunneling etc are legit tactics, make things more exciting and that frustration is fun.
Like... if they are aware these elements would get barred in actual big tournaments, why are they keeping them in the regular game?
(lbr we know the answer is because it caters to all the bloated ego brats who thing basement bubba is skill and will throw a tantrum when someone had kindred and they depip from it)
You make a lot of assumptions, none of them I agree with. There have been several tournaments, and none of those things were banned. Care to revise your tinfoil hat theories? This is the game; you either like it or you don't. If you aren't happy, why are you still here? As you pointed out, the DEV have clearly stated that Camping, Tunneling, and Slugging (and many more) are valid tactics and all fall under Player agency. They aren't going away. You learn to deal with them in the game. That is the solution; it is the only solution.

If only did it help against tunneling. Most killers don't facecamp at red rank, but they tunnel. Healing and killer downing you without a perk means it really isn't a perk at all. It punishes for playing the game.
Again, it does the SAME thing in so far as tunneling as it did before. Your argument doesn't hold water if you don't say it was exactly the same BEFORE this update. :) If you feel it punishes you, don't take it; problem solved! Seriously, if you guys spent half as much energy on playing the game and practicing as you do bellyaching over here, you wouldn't have ANY of the problems you talk about.
-
Another reason there SEEM to be more Tunneling now, and I don't necessarily agree, is the days are long gone when people were actively taking protection hits, doing shoulder saves, and regular hook sabotage. I remember a time when the Killer had to fight to get that prey to the hook. The change isn't in the Killers; it is the Survivors and how THEY play that has altered.

Anyone else think D-strike is a waste of a perk slot now? It's only really useful if some idiot farms you and you still get slugged anyway, these killers are having a field day when they see no ds. I run in a swf so I never get farmed and someone is always running BT, the 60 second really is a waste of time where you could be doing something valuable. No one runs DS anymore I think they should change it but in a way were it's still run able or at least do something about the incessant slugging.
DS works exactly as it did before in so far as dealing with tunneling. These various threads and posts are nonsensical. The only reason Killers are having a "field day" as you put it is because a bunch of Survivors threw a hissy fit and stopped running DS. If the Killer sees no Obsession, they know there is no DS. Are you picking up what I'm putting down? Run DS again, so there is an Obsession, and Killers will assume it is there and play accordingly.

Is it because DS got nerfed? Ill admit I've seen alot more tunneling recently due to matches not having an obsession but this is kinda crazy literally the last 8 out of 10 matches I've played has had at least one person immediately give up and some having two give up or DC
I haven't noticed an uptick in the number of selfish bad sports; to me, the numbers seem about the same. People who suicide on the hook don't do it in some idiotic, silent protest over DS. If that were the case, they wouldn't not play in the first place. The "fall on their swords" types are just losers who bail the moment they don't get a perfect start or something doesn't go their way. They appear to not care (or even enjoy) leaving their fellow Survivors to rot. Some of them even do it with the idiotic notion that they are punishing the Killer. It suffices to say that DS isn't part of the calculation.

I recently made the decision that I didn't want to play DBD anymore because it doesn't seem like the game is gonna get better thanks to the bad balancing decisions, and how bad things have been since the Halloween Event. So if you still play DBD would like to know why, and if you don't then I imagine it might be the same with my reasoning.
I play all the time. If I stopped playing the game it would be because I no longer enjoy the game. I would move on; I wouldn't even have time to stop and do a silly "goodbye cruel DbD" post over here. And that bears on the other things, why would I still be here on a Forum that exists primarily to talk about DbD if I'm no longer interested in or playing it? That sounds weird to me, the behavior of a stalker. If you don't care about the game, there is no reason to remain here to talk about it.
As much as I like some of you and enjoy some of your posts, our shared mutual interest is this game and if we no longer share that, we don't have much to talk about do we? The people I really like from here, I am going to have already made contact outside of the Forum so I wouldn't lose touch with them. Do you see where I'm going with this? So a better question is WHY ON EARTH is anyone who has quit the game (for whatever reason) still hanging out here to whine about it?

It's my only way of coping with how this disaster of a chapter was handled. No map, no updated map, and the worst killer in the entire game by a long shot.
Quotes from Almo saying that our feedback basically means nothing on the PTB and we're stuck with a terrible killer for at least 2 months.

I don't even think EA holds this much contempt for their playerbase, at least they have the common sense to understand what their players want. BHVR... I just can't anymore...
Merry Happy April Fools'... whatever...
In fairness, each day the Tricksters I've been facing have been getting more and more accurate. On the first day they were lucky if they got one kill. Yesterday, I saw it fluctuate a lot and averaged around two kills. Today, 3+ kills have not been uncommon. And bear in mind this isn't me playing the Trickster, but rather playing against them. People seem to be getting much more accurate with the blades, mixing and matching more Perks, and getting a better mix of blade to M1 attacks.
I think it is way too early (I generally wait one month to make my call) but the improvement in just a couple of days is palpable. He may well still get the title "weakest killer" but I'm not sure that means he isn't playable. I played him, successfully, very differently than what I'm running into. The fact of the matter is the DEV are going to wait an month or two to study their "big data" so we might as well strap in and test the heck out of the guy. Screaming and venting here early isn't going to get that big a reaction from them.

Fun fact whenever you try to use tricksters power (remember you have to be in this for 8 knives just to injured and that isnt including if rng cucks you so your knives go to brazil instead) you are slower than nurse. Survivors can outrun you. At least with huntress and doc etc you might be slowdown but you dont have to remain that slow for an extended period of time. Trickster has to be slower than nurse for a decent while.
Yeah, but I rarely used the knives. :) Remember, I said I play Spooky Myers. Thus I'm chasing people at 105% with my kitchen knife. His baseball-blade at 110% felt quite quick to me. I was braining people with the basic attack FIRST. Most people start with the knives, lead with them and rely on them. I didn't rely on the knives. I ran:
Play With Your Food, Star Struck, Agitation, and Nurses Calling *Mostly... I tried several other variations.
*Just like with Myers I would use PWYF to token up with normal chases so that I was at 125% speed before I'd brain them with the bat. If I could catch them again with the Bat I'd put the target down and often slug to make sure I got some people in my Terror Radius and then pick up and Insta-Down. I used the knives more often than not to create Generator Pressure and drive people off Gens without having to get close. They don't know if I'm coming or not. They just assume it because I'm throwing things at them.
To me Trickster is a weird mind gaming M1 Killer who uses the knives to disrupt and create havoc, not put people down. I consider the extended chases required to do that pointless. If you get someone now and then because you catch them in the right terrain to whack them with the bat and then spray them down... great. But that isn't something I'm relying on. The knives are my bird-dog, to get people out of where I don't want them... jungle gyms with bouncing blades... off Generators... and so on. I would sometimes flush people out just by suddenly sending knives into an area that looked suspect to me and damn if they didn't go running. They assumed I'd found them, and thanks to that I did. The knives are NOT effective weapons. I use them for mind games and flushing out prey.
I found it very effective. BUT I have to stress in the face of so many unhappy people (with the Trickster) that I specialize in a SLOW Killer normally that uses mind games and ambushes and intercepts as his primary style. I treated Trickster very much like a Spooky Myers who gives up a zero Terror Radius in exchange for the ability distress and grief Survivors and ideally flush them out into the open. It worked for me. But it was also boring. I already play Myers and like him MUCH better. :) Thus I just want Trickster's Perks.
Do I think he will get some changes? Oh, almost certainly. To make the Trickster work you have to play like a crazy mind gaming Stealth Killer when most people don't do that. They will end up having to change him quite a bit so he conforms to how the majority play.

Rank 1 survivor here. Based on my games yesterday the tunneling was rampant in the majority of them. The killers were constantly bee lining straight after the one who came off hook. Even when four or five gens were still standing.
I am hoping this is a temporary thing in reaction to the DS nerf. Because yesterday was the worst I've seen tunneling in a long time.
If nobody takes DS, yeah the Killer doesn't have any DS to fear. But this is a negative feedback loop created by the people claiming that DS sucks now "so don't take it." It is nonsense of course, but enough people threw a hissy and haven't been taking it so now there is no Obsession and the Killer knows there is no DS. :)
The simple fix is the system should always create an Obsession whether there is an Obsession Perk or not, or someone on the team simply needs to take DS or some OTHER Obsession Perk.
-
I don't like Trickster. I didn't find him as problematic as everyone else because I play Spooky Myers in better than 90% of my games. A slow 105% Killer is my jam. By comparison, Trickster seems quite speedy. I just find him BORING. I found there is one effective way to play with him, and yes I submit there is an effective way to play with him (or at least it was for me). He is just entirely ONE NOTE. So, after the PTB I didn't have much interest in playing him, but I do want his perks. I used some Auric Cells I had built up and purchased him. I've been playing Survivors and Killers I enjoy and grinding that Rift, while pouring every BP they make into the Trickster. I'll probably have all three of his Perks unlocked by the end of the day, depending on how many real world things to do.
I'm looking forward to the Trapper with:
Agitation, Iron Grasp, and perhaps even Mad Grit. If I go with Mad Grit the fourth Perk will probably be Corrupt Intervention or an info Perk. If I don't go with Mad Grit, I'll probably have an Info Perk and Corrupt. :)
My point being that picking someone up and running around Insta-Downing people is nice, and has synergy with the Trapper also getting people in the basement. It also works with things like Monitor & Abuse and/or other Perks which increase your Terror Radius.
-
My view is the PTB is useless and they never make changes based on it anyway. I always wait about a month to make my final call.
-
The PTB exists for one reason and one reason only; it is to make us feel like we are taking part. I think they should do away with it altogether because it has the opposite effect. It just shows that they don't actually make changes based on it. In short, it is badly formulated PR.

Everygame so far I've been camped to second stage and then tunnelled off the hook. The stun timer does nothing and there seems to be no incentive not to just eat it anymore - especially if you have a ranged attack or any kind of map mobility.
No, it doesn't. Being camped wouldn't have been the same before or after the change to DS. The Perk still works when you get tunneled off the 2nd Hook, so I'm not sure what your issue is here.
-
Let me point out quietly that Star Struck is a very potent insta-down Perk. When combined with Play with your Food (which helps offset speed issues) it can be quite effective. Other Perks which increase your Terror Radius also quite nice. I'm not trying to sell anyone on the notion that he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm merely pointing out that there are some extremely effective combinations on this guy once you look past his idiotic knives.
I tried him out with Star Struck, Agitation, Mad Grit, and Play With Your Food and found it rather effective.
*PS: I also tried it without Play With Your Food, replacing it with Iron Grasp and found that very substantial too.

Don't buy this Killer!
Devs haven't done anything that would make the Trickster viable or at least decent. The changes that he has received don't help him!
He is not fun to play! As it has been noticed, Trickster can do nothing in loops with high walls, and he is extremely slow! Unlike Speargun and Hatchets, his power doesn't help him to down Survivors fast or catch up to Survivors quickly. He is very sluggish.
His perks are decent, but is it a good idea to buy a character only for perks?
People buy most new characters for their Perks and put them on the Killer they actually enjoy. I will suggest, however, that Trickster benefits greatly from Play With Your Food. I actually found him to be quite effective when I tested him out, but kind of one note. The Trickster starts to power up when you combine his basic Power with OTHER Perks.

Nuh uh, sorry my lord but as i said, but you don't give a ding, i am not talking about my gameplay, but ONLY the balance of the game, talking about my gameplay IS the irrelevant point here.
The most important reason devs don't give a ding about balancing the game, and, as i said, it can be very easily done, is because there is no serious concurence on the market.
The balance of a game is one of the key to his succes, for every game. If they really care about fun, they have to do something. As my previous fellow one said; adding game modes, but bro, we are talking about DbD devs, it's way too much to ask, even if i am totaly for a double trouble match (2killers, 8survs, 10gens, a thing like this could be really fun).
My propositions are basics, simple, even if they are never going to come into the game.
Oh something also going on my mind, again against survivors, but what can i say ? They have too much rights ! Can you tell me in what world, you can have 2-4 same survs in a game ? Especially in same outfit ? Do you get it's a gameplay problem ? Like, knowing who is the obsession ?
This game is full of unfairness everywhere, and it's alwayyyyyys survivor sided, but they have the last world, because they are more numerous.
Also, a little anoying nerf who was done to pyramid head is the little aditional time/slow when canceling right click. The worst is, the hooks perks don't work when he cage, rendering basically useless some who will be so much good/fun with him.
Can we also take a moment talking about the twins, they smoothed the transition between the little creep and the killer, this IS great, but, the distance put to impeach hook camp is too big, because, you know, not everybody is an adept of hook camp and just want/need to switch faster without walking 1 kilometer.
Oh i forgot, can we also took a moment to talk about the traps of the hag who basically DON'T work ? It happen since the last big patch, sometimes, there is traps who just don't activate, you litteraly see the guy running on him, but meh, it's DbD you ding . Also, there is very annoying restrictions on traps, especially when you don't want to put them in the middle of a passage, but more close to a wall/obstacle to hide them.
But i will give a point to the reworked maps EXCEPT the game, give us back the old game map you monsters ! Crotus penn is more little (finally...) adding breakable doors is great, it give more strategy, globaly, the reworked maps are a way more balanced (less abused loops).
I wanted to ask, am i the only one who somtimes just give up a chase when it came to the killer shack ? The most horrible part is there is ALWAYS a pallet here, without an adapted killer or the clown perk, just, no, f**k the shack. It's just going to make you loose way too much time. But, to be honest, the main problem of the killer shack is the fact there is holes everywhere in the walls.
Tell me what you think about the shack, but for me, it's too strong for survs because of the wall holes. It's great only with ghost face or maybe myers, pig also, but that's all.
Ah, talking about stealth killers ! Man, i love the mechanics of ghost face and the pig !...yea, obviously there is a problem, a very obvious one. You are in fk** first person, and survs are in the 3rd person. I think i don't need to tell why it's a huge problem, especially in open maps, can you just delete coldwin from the game ? it's for the good sake of myers, ghost face and pig. /joke for the delete...but not that much.
So, jumping of my previous fellow poster, a game mode specialized for 1st person survs could be great, but i am not mad, i know it will never exist. But like playing freddy change the maps, it could be interresting, when you play ghost face and the pig, to force put the camera of the survivors more close to them.
And when i said that, i am always comming into the thing immersion is a problem.
Also, there is an annoying thing i got in mind lately, litrally, there is a good amount of perks who are cleary done for certains killers, released with them, obviously, at a point they are totally useless for a good amount of others, or necessary to be taken because it's a part of the gameplay of the killer. Take a look at the plague, the less played killer of the game, and there is obvious reasons for that, she is totaly underpowered, it's not like the hag, who is very good, but not played because his gameplay is very minded.
But the point is: playing the plague without corrupt intervention ? Bruh ! Impossible - at least very hard - ! It's so needed that it should be integrated, she is so perk dependant, and his power so bad (because pools are consumed when full, if not, should be a way better, pool healing should be a hard decision) and by saying it, i think the only fact of carefully choosing to heal or not because pools are not consummed when full is the answer to rebalance the plague, it will put an adequate pressure and give a power up well needed for the plague. I remembre some month ago when i started playing her, she was so fun, i was like "being infectious is funnier than using corrupt" and then, boom, i saw pools were all consumed because no one left, all the work of infecting people and objetcs go to the nether...
it's always like this in DbD;
1- a killer mechanic is fun !
2- *survivors noises*
3- Killer get nerfed.
For god sake, give some love to killers !
You be you! Rage against the dying of the light. :) I never expected you to actually listen to my advice, but I felt obligated to try and help you. You have the tools and information you need now to deal with YOUR problem. Whether or not you do it is up to you. My responsibility in so far as my own ethical standard to help you is satisfied. Good luck!

If four man teams just want to do gens and get out. They should have 7 totems and 6 gens with a separate lobby there own ranking system. Like a group rank and play killers with that level of skill. Why punish your normal yellow green rank killers with 2 purple ranks. How often do you get one red rank survivor surrounded by yellow and green ranked survivors cause they don't want to play hard matches. Alot of them will admit to this Tired of sweets. But they come into baby killers lobbies just to torture them. The rank killer they go against should be the highest rank n the lobby but for some reason it goes off of whoever's lobby they join.
I think adding the extra Generator should be a last ditch thing. I think the first logical step, rather than adding to their objectives, is to unlock a 5th Perk Slot for any Killer facing a 3+ SWF. This would be to help balance out the 5th Perk (Comms) that the SWF have. I think that would have be tested as a balancing agent first, before looking at an extra Generator.

Everyone said the Deathslinger was weak. They said the same thing about Pyramid Head too. Neither of them turned out that way. I figure in a month or so we will have a better idea where the Trickster actually stands.

Well I played him during the test and found Play With Your Food was quite effective on him. Beyond that you can really run anything.

Either
1) make it so there is always an obsession
or
2) make it so decsisive strike does not create an obsession until it is used, so the lack of an obsession does not mean there is no DS
right now killers see there is no obsession and realize they can tunnel off the hook to get a fast kill and an easy win because they know they won't eat a DS. If they do this you won't know if a game has DS or not a thus you won't just be relying on the killer being nice to not get tunneled.
I think either of these would work for your intended purpose. I think they are excellent ideas, in fact and I rarely support anything lightly.

Because we all know killers queues will go up to 2 hours after the DS nerf. I will be in that queue to play with my beloved Bliit and his fixed spine but if you are actually sane I wouldn't make plans to play killer for a few days after the update.
You think that because of the DS change a significant portion of Survivors will either stop playing or switch to Killer? That is an interesting theory, and given the fact that we tend to have a surplus of Survivors over proportion of Killers, that might be a good thing. It suffices to say that I don't agree with you. I don't think the change to DS is going to send any significant number of Survivors packing; I don't even think it will change the percentage of people who take the Perk in a meaningful way. I guess we will will know in very short order which of us is right.

How do Killer mains do it? I swear I'm on edge 90% of the match, there is way too much pressure. I'm pretty bad so I guess thats a portion of the reason why. How do you guys keep map pressure?
This reminds me of the old joke:
Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I move my arm like this.
Doctor: Don't do that.
You have answered your own question. If you don't enjoy Killer, don't play it. My experience is different from a lot of people that answered you. I never felt the kind of pressure or stress that you are experiencing. I suspect the difference is expectations. I go into new games and new roles expecting to be bad at them. I fully embrace that I'm going to lose. If you go into it with such a mindset, you aren't going to be triggered by setbacks.
As to how you keep up good map pressure, I wish I had a simple answer for you. It would take an essay, and I'm not adverse to writing it. It is just too early right now for me to get into that kind of detail. However, I will boil it down to the brass tacks. You pay a LOT of dues, i.e. hundreds of matches and hours in the game to develop the proper instincts of where to go and when. I can tell you, intellectually, how I decide but you still will not internalize it. At best, me giving you the instructions (and I will) will save you a few hours over how many I spent.
How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice. There is no magic bullet or shortcut. I knew the basics, i.e. the right steps right from the start. I had spent time watching videos and reading articles by people who are superstars. Their knowledge helped me, I'm sure, but knowing what to do and actually applying it aren't the same thing. It takes time to internalize and instinctually do what you intellectually know you should. Does that make sense? So in short, lower your expectations, and practice.

First i am sure you are not disturbed :d You are not seem like this and i am really susp you are adult. You need to learn respect. If you disagree people you cant insult them, you cant mean they are not adult. With that you seem child, not they. And you are not boss here, you cant force people to anything lol (Even you were boss, you still would not do that)
And second, it is not your business, you cant ask me why you are here. I am here because i have my reasons and nothing for you. I love this game and most of community. If i wanna leave i will do. I will not ask you and i will not care you lol. You need to calm down.
And last, when you use product you can feedback with your opinions, you can say " i dont like because of that" or you can say " this is awww because of that." That is modern world my bro and maybe you dont know but this discussion forum. And there is nothing wrong saying to "good bye". If you dont know to show respect please dont answer me more, i dont like people who unrespect.
This is a discussion Forum, and I am giving you my opinion of melodramatic, entitled posts that serve no purpose. I showed you respect in answering your post carefully and thoughtfully. I did not engage in personal attacks against you. You on the other hand, decided to do the opposite. The fact that I tore your argument to shreds is not the same as insulting you. I can respect you without agreeing with your point of view. The two are not one and the same. Do you follow? In short, adults can disagree with one another but still respect one another.
When someone posts here, they should be ready, willing, and able to have people disagree with them. They should be ready to eat crow when they are proven wrong and corrected. That also, is what adults do. You are are now at a crossroads. Do you act like an adult or do you continue down your current path?

And why is that disturbing you? Are you owner of this forum?
In modern world people can discus? Is that forum rules by any dictator? No? Then he can share him opinions. And he is right about what he wrote. That is why killer mains stopping play this game. Maybe devs will fix this problems, hopefully
Disturbed? I don't think any of us are disturbed by people who come over here and do their dramatic little "goodbye cruel DbD" posts so much as we are embarrassed for such people. These colorful, over the top displays demonstrate a profound lack of dignity. One day I too will have gotten bored of the game and will move on to the next one. I will be too busy to stop by here and put on a show. No one will even notice I'm gone. That is because I'm an adult and my expectations are realistic.
Neither the DEV nor this so-called community care if you, I, or the OP decide to leave. People come and go every day. That is the reality of modern gaming. There are thousands upon thousands of games at our fingertips all the time. If one isn't right for us, we move on to the next one. Thus, the DEV work to maintain the game for the majority of people playing. The fact that DbD is still here, popular, and its numbers rise and dip within a predictable pattern is solid evidence that the DEV actually are doing a pretty good job.
So no silly, theatrical gaming suicide notes are going to sway them. Idiotic ultimatums where people demand what they want.... NOW.... or they are leaving do not even register as worth reading by the DEV. They are too busy doing their jobs to worry about such nonsense. Video games are luxury items, things most of us do to pass the time. For the people who work for the company, this is their means to pay the bills. I suspect they are far more VESTED in maintaining DbD than any of us. Thus, doing what is right by MOST of us is important to them. Doing what is right by entitled individuals who say "screw you guys I'm going home" is the last thing on their minds.
But let's step away from BEhavior's interest in these matters and talk about you and I. Let's talk about whether or not we, as part of the so-called community, should give a rat's patootie about people pulling these melodramatic stunts. I'm glad people like this leave. Why? Because if they lack this much dignity and self respect, rage quitting over their perception of injustice in their damn luxury item video games, they are also the people acting like jerks in the end game chatter. The same entitlement applies. We don't need them. We will do better without them. And I say to you, if you are unhappy with the game, WHY are you still here?

@Kolitra said:
You know, my point here is the multiple unfairness of the game, as i said, losing is a part of every game, being humiliated too much is another.
as i said:
In conclusion +bonus;
- Rework the HEX perks, do what you want but put them out of usual perks.
- Give killers more powers against squads OR offer them perks slots with higher ranks.
- Do a true and well done Ranking per killer.
- Delete the end game timer slow.
- Nerf the key, can be used to flee for himself, not multiple survivors.
This is real issues here, globaly, devs don't take any risk modifying the game for balance/fun purpose because they love their little survivors more than their killers. If survivors are not afraid of the killer, what's the point ? it's not a question of being overpowered and destroying survivors, none of my saying goes this way.
When i say the true problem IS the fact squads communicate and it is actually game breaking because killers are too powerless against this players, it create an unfair level gap. And no, tryharding like a ######### isn't a valid answer, for the simple fact that winning rank is too easy.
My arguments are solid and valid for most of the players, i don't care about top players, their number is too small. My anger is directed on the unfairness created by the devs. The changes who can be done are easy. The game is asymetric, so, balance the game in an asymetric way.
You can't tell me the problems i pointed are not true problems. And no, red rank is just a nightmare if you don't want to always try hard or if you just want to change and play another killer.
Working on the rank system to give a rank to each killer is good, but not enough because it don't change the problem of the squads. Nor either the others problems i pointed. I am not here to talk about my gameplay, as i said, my main killer is mostly fine, it's not fine when it's toxic people, but the killer itself is strong enough to punish some of them. But the hag isn't really perk dependant because his gameplay is totaly different, having a good strategy and anticipation is the key, and this is why she have the best comeback of all killers, even if she is barely played. But that don't change the fact squads are a problem, and something need to be done to compensate the level gap it create by breaking the game.
There is no way to say this nicely, so I'm just going to be direct. Your points are irrelevant. Nobody ever claimed this game is fair or balanced. It is as balanced as a game like this can be at this moment and will always be adjusted SLOWLY to avoid even more unintended consequences. In short, your rant is a waste of time. The energy would be better spent focusing on yourself, i.e. what YOU can do to mitigate those things which vex you. We all play the same game and run into the same issues. Some of us abide and some do not.
You have to decide if the game is fun enough for you to continue, while making the SAFE assumption that the changes you want aren't going to happen. You are either having enough fun or you are not. If you are not, you know where the door is located. I'm not saying that to be snide. This is a reality check. Things are not going to get any more fair. They might even get worse. You can rise to that challenge and in time you will overcome all the obstacles you enumerated. I know because I did it, and I don't think I have any more natural talent than anyone else. I just have a bulldog sensibility and a naturally competitive nature. The will to do something is often far more important than the ability to do something. Does that make sense?
You have no power over the game. You have no power over the other Players. You only have power over your OWN actions. My advice is to focus your energy there.

Iri Head, long term exhaustion based add ons, infinite tier 3 myers, all exposure and mori add-ons, insta heals, turbo gen boxes, flash lights that can be used with macros to extend their use to over 20 full seconds, would all instantly be removed. And of course the chests themselves wouldn't be able to circumvent the prerequisites of the game.
Longer sacrifice timers would discourage camping, as it would provide much more time for survs to heal and begin gen work.
There are killers who are add on dependant, but no killer whose dependant add ons are of green quality or higher. While there are green, purple, or even iri add ons that make things far more consistent, trapper with yellow bag and trap setters is more than good. Wraith's two best consistency add ons are Bone Clappers (yellow) and the ghost soot (white). Myers can get his movement speed while stalking and stalking boost from white and yellow as well. While not perfect, yellow and white have options for all add on reliant killers.
If slugging were really that much of an issue, which I still don't think it would be (Ill go into why after), then you can just increase bleed out timer. Its already insanely long as is, but death by bleed out is meant to stop someone from going down and crawling into a corner to kill time, it takes far too long to actually be a strategy for kills. This aside, the fastest way to kill, and the most efficient for points, will remain going for 12 hooks. Letting someone bleed out has no associated reward and will not help towards a decent score. Slugging is just too slow and too easily countered to be worth the point loss you are taking.
Overall, a casual mode isn't meant to be easy. Its not suppose to be a candycane and gum drop romp. Its still the game, you still want to win. The point of a casual mode is games are slower, actions aren't optimized, and you really aren't playing the game at its fullest realization. It isn't a "chill mode" so much as its not so much of a "sweat fest. It isnt the hardest core environment, it is an environment to experience the game in a less competitive setting. You are so focused on trying to poke holes, (in ways that are really stretching it), that you keep ignoring the existence and purpose of casual modes in literally every other competitive game
Hrm. We will have to agree to disagree. I don't think your change in Add-on(s) will have near the effect you think it will, and will have so many negative, unintended consequences that very few people would even be willing to play in it. I don't think you would be able to field enough Killers for one as they will suffer far more than Survivors in your setup. I think both Ques would be slow to the point of detrimental.
Finally, I think my original point to you is still 100% correct and the most telling here. EVERYONE defines a "casual" game differently. Most people do not define it as you are doing. Unless there is agreement by the majority of the so-call community on how a "casual" game is defined, it is never going to happen. It is impossible. That is the point I've been trying to make to you. I have not been ignoring what you write. I haven't been ignoring your ideas. Some of them are interesting but don't need another Que to implement. What I have been doing is cutting to the chase, the cruel, logistical fact that what you want isn't possible for a host of reasons, not the least of which being that there is no demand or agreement on the shape of it.

Okay, 1k hour played here, i have enough of this 3-4 red squads who just humiliate you for fun, and your fun as a killer is totaly dead, you always see the same perks again, and again and AGAIN ! Wort is, most of the time, it's not really the survivors who are good, but just the fact they are on vocal and get carried by their perks.
And you, as a killer who just want to have fun, be fair, you are here, tea bagged, click clicked, taking every DS even without actually tunneling, this survivors who dead hard right in your face, this is enough. I don't want to play a game who i am forced to anticipate every toxic things survivors do just to humiliate you.
i h.a.t.e s.q.u.a.d.s
Why ? Why do you force us, killers to play against them ? 90% of them are just toxic, ruining the mood and gamebreaking ! Even league of legends did something for this by cutting the rankeds queue for solo/duo and others. It force us to play our best killer, taking perks you don't really want, - even playing toxic without wanting it ! - but you take them because "this is going to be a nightmare if i don't take it" etc...oh, talking about perks, what's the point about having more and more in the game ?
There is 5 pages of perks ! But we are still blocked with 4 perks as a killer vs the cumulated 16 perks of the survivors, this is ALWAYS the same ones you see, the ones who ruin your games, the speed burst ones, dead hard, self care, borrow, unbreakable, hard will and finally, the infamous decisive strike.
BUUUUUUUUUT ! This is the perks of the killers who are nerfed, even the mori, while survs run nerf-free with this key and perks. Can we have a moment to talk about the HEX ? No because, this is clearly not a good risk-reward mechanic, this is just a risk-loss.
They are powerfull/fun BUT;
1- It take a very precious perk slot
2- Totems are, for a good amount, litteraly 2 meters from a gen W T F
3- Can be cleared without problem, easily, left clic and then done.
4- You lose your perks litteraly in game. Making a totem build ? cool ! - totems cleard - yay, i am nude, plus, it's just 30sec of the game.
5- Because it's certainly - too hard - to find them (lol) they are ignited AND make sound AND got luminosity.
At what moment, it's a good idea to take them ? The best is to not consider them as usual perks, put them in another category ! So, tou can take some of them without ruining your experience, the game is going to last a little longer, so you won't be tard gen rushed, and if you lose them "is okay". Just put an additional line of perks only for hex so it's going to add true added gameplay for both sides. It will force gen rushers to actually **play the game**, so, put them aside of usuals perks for god sake. This is a proposition, but do something about hex, this is - another - true problem of the game here. And the best way is to separate them from usual perks, there is no other good way to do it.
Also, i heard it is an horror game, this is true but the problem is...WHY IT IS THE KILLER WHO FEAR THE SURVIVORS ?! - at high ranks -
Because of high toxicity and squads, and you know whay squads are one of the biggest problem of balance ? THEY COMMUNICATE IN VOCAL, this is, basically the reason why at lowers ranks, you don't see many squads, but just usual solo players who actually fear the killer because the base game force the survivors to be isolated and make decisions knowing they are. Against a squad, they communicate, so there is no isolation, the basics advantages of the killer - the fear effects - are GONE, **the communication is the most powerful tools for survivors**
You HAVE to do something about this, and this is my proposition:
- Make 2 distinct trials who activate automatically, i'll explain;
- Survivors and killers launch the search game as usual, if there is no 3/4 players squads, nothing change for the both sides, it's ok.
- If there is a 3/4 squad survivors, the killer is alerted and, to rebalance the trial, obtain two more perks slots.
This is purely for balance AND fun, sure, this won't stop toxic behaviors, but, it rebalance the game by adding more fear factor for the killer who is disadvantaged against synchronized squads. For those who are going to cry "it's not fair blabla", do you even REALLY realize, as a killer, you absolutely can tell if you are against a squad or not ? The gameplay is absolutely different, more organized, more teamplay, the difficulty is too much with the little you have, plus, you are alone. The main reason why the squads can humiliate you is because of the unbalanced advantage who is the vocal communication. We can't counter this for obvious reasons, so, it is needed to balance the game and give killers more power to compensate - at least somewhat - this advantage.
Also, devs, it is obvious that the game is survivor sided, especially because you don't do anything to balance the trials against squads.
I will be also precising something, who should be obvious, but i know it's not for everybody, i am talking here about general behaviors seen at purple ranks and higher, the game is a way more balanced at lower ranks, green ranks are certainly the funnier for both sides by far, my best games with good mentality were green leveled because it's not try hard games. But what i said above is for all ranks anyway, because putting a system like this and only doing it for higher ranks will certainly incitate red ranks squads to derank. Also, the majority of the game is certainly not "top players based" so, useless to say l2p, the vast majority of players are not top players, logic, isn't it ? And anyway, i wan go R1 with my hag when i want, playing normaly and not toxic. So the question is not here.
Another ######### logic: Why the hell the end timer is slowed when end doors are open and there is a downed survivor ?! This is not logical, and it's absolutely unfair, or you choose to open the door as surv and accept the fact it's timed, or it's opened by the killer to trigger the timer to put pressure on survs, if you slow the timer for any reason, it's game breaking, survivors at this moment of the game already have the advantage, so WHY THE HELL give them MORE advantage by slowing the timer ?! Plus, it's overly used to troll the killer more than anything. The main problem of the game is, most of the actions done in the trials are killers punishing (hex perks, end timer, gen rush, loops) you know, running after a survivor for 3min because there is tons of vaults/pallets, because breaking a pallet break the bloodlust, but a survivor sliding on the same pallet can be infinite...)all of this is just unfair, not fun, and frustrating. And i didn't even talked about squads fleeing with the key, you know, it's so FUN to try tu put an endgame strategy as a killer like using bloodwarden well timed, and then poof, 1 key to flee them all ! it's one sided, and it easily explain why some killers go toxic.
The game naturally punish killers who rank up, this is a total non-sense, so, or you put a system like i said above, or, other idea, killers can unlock aditional perks slots, one more at purple rank, and a second one at red rank. But HEX needs to be completely reworked anyway. At least, it motivate us to keep our rank and tolerate to play against your heavily toxic players.
Oh also, go put a MMR different with each killer, because i don't have the same level on my hag and any others you know ? But it seems you are making it, i wonder more why it's not already in the game tho, it's logic ffs.
In conclusion +bonus;
Red ranks squads can go to hell, you are the worst part of this community, and i perfectly know you are proud of it. Oh, i forgot; i will not take the defense of true toxic killers. My post is in prior a frustration and anger about obvious game balance, and the devs seems to not want to do something about it, anyway.
For my part, and right now, i go derank and go green till nothing change. At least, i will have fun, less toxic games, can play killers i just can't play high rank because i get humiliated (loosing is something, getting volountary humiliated is an other) and certainly being less insulted, it's a win-win.
That was quite a rant, and I'm sure what you said is heartfelt. You didn't ask for advice, but I'm going to give it anyway. Think of breaking into the Red Ranks as starting to play this game for the first time all over again. You know nothing. You are going to lose a lot. It is going to seem very unfair. It is going to feel almost exactly like it did when you were in the Potato Ranks. That is what makes it the most frustrating, because you had THOUGHT you were past that. That was a wrong assumption. To bring a little Dark Tower philosophy in here let me give you a quote that frames it well:
“Ka is a wheel; its one purpose is to turn. The spin of ka always brings us back to the same place, to face and reface our mistakes and defeats until we can learn from them. When we learn from the past, the wheel continues to move forward, towards growth and evolution. When we don’t, the wheel spins backward, and we are given another chance. If once more we squander the opportunity, the wheel continues its rotation towards devolution, or destruction.”
If you set your expectations to be starting all over again, knowing you are going to lose a lot until you find your footing, you will get triggered less. Yes, you will run into far more Bully Squads or simply well-tuned SWF in the Red Ranks. These are Players who are CHOOSING to give themselves a competitive edge that others don't. I'm sure they congratulate themselves on every victory too. Somewhere, deep inside however, they know they are frauds that didn't truly earn it. I play with my friends from time to time, but I never value anything we accomplish as much as I do when I play Solo (or when me and my friends agree that our chat cannot include anything game related while we play).
I digress. Playing against these crazy odds and learning to be good all over again is kind of a blessing in disguise. If you let go of that angst and surprise when you find that you are now in an entirely different league (and out of depth) you will just put your head down and charge. You will learn faster playing against these, and treat every game (win, lose, or draw) as a valuable experience. In fact, you will learn far more from your losses than you do your wins. The game started throwing me against Red Ranks the second I hit Green. By the time I was Purple I barely fought anyone else. Oddly enough, now that I am a Red Rank Killer, who floats between Rank 1-3 on any given day, I see more variety in the Ranks I'm pulling. I refer to it as "Taste the Rainbow." I can only assume it is more MMR testing. However, when I'm not getting that kind of crazy, I'm fighting the kinds of matches that triggered you. I win (or draw) far more of them than I lose. If I had to break it down statistically, I win about two in four and draw one. I tend to earn a pip most of the time, and safety pip if not. Only rarely do I lose one. My point here is not to brag, but to give you solace that you CAN win against these odds. I'm not Otz or Monto or Stalky Boi or any of those Superstars. I simply abided the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and kept going. Now I make them regret pulling me. Your goal shouldn't be to implode, but rather to win your games so soundly that they come and rant on this Forum.

I am calm. I'm just sick of people doing things out of habit without putting any thought into what they are doing or saying.
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that.
I hate trying to guess what people are thinking. Too many masks and dishonesty out there. I prefer things in the open and literal.
True; I can relate to this. The only thing I can suggest is what works for me:
- I always give a GG or GGWP and/or some compliment. I was brought up this way.
- I don't try to guess what people are thinking. As cold as it sounds, you are all Bots to me. Thus, I'm giving GG to very smart, less predictable Bots. It is unlikely I will meet many of you in the real world. Thus, you are no more real to me than well a Bot or AI. Does that make sense?
- Thinking of you all as Bots while in the game is NOT the same of thinking of you that way here in the Forum. I do make that distinction. Here we are largely nameless, faceless voices quacking in the night that is the internet. Sometimes we get some good conversation, and sometimes not. Here I do see you as people and do my best to interact with you as such.
So your view of people doing things out of habit is fair, and accurate to a point. However, most of us that do give a GG (and/or personalize it) do genuinely feel it is the right thing to do.

I can't play this early access game anymore,
I'm tired of playing against swf and eating the same perks day after day.
survivors make me 2 generators in a 30 second chase.
A survivor to get to a safe pallet with dead hard.
unbreakable and dc combo with no counter to that
You have to respect those perks as if they were there even if no one has equipped them because the mere fact that they exist is already doing something in the game.
You are going to tell me that 200hrs of play is too little to judge how the video game is but my time is limited, there are many more games out there and I don't have time to play this only for more than 1khrs to master.
In counter strike I don't even have 300hrs and I already consider myself better than average
Games are supposed to be fun not to be stressed out at every game. I honestly don't see anything positive in this game mentally, so I'd better play something else. Thank you.
You do you. The good thing about the age we live in is that there are literally thousands of games at our fingertips. If one doesn't cut the mustard for you, vagabond (as you are doing) to the next. I'm not sure what value there was in stopping by the Forum to give us a "goodbye cruel DbD" post but... you do you. :)

Calling "gg wp" after an onesided match is just like rubbing the victory into the face of the other side. In that case the loser should call gg first. Otherwise the winner should just say nothing or a simple "gl next" would do the trick, too.
And from my experience people in most cases only say gg if they win. If they lose it's either insults or silence. There are exceptions, though.
That hasn't been my experience. I give and get GG win or lose at least as often as I get silence, and more than I get Salt these days. The nasty folks stick out in our minds more than the polite, so to really have a good feel of it you literally have to track it as a test. I used to think I got more Salt than anything else, so I put it to the test. I was wrong. :)
