you included I assume right survivor main I'm guessing. I have 14 posts because i don't live on the forums like you and 90% of everyone else sitting trying to discredit valid points. BTW who are you to say who deserves to be on the game is it because i have a differing opinion than you or is it because i'm a console gamer and you feel superior because of other "small" problems in your life. this game is dying and it's at the hands of the devs 45k out of 5 mil steam users isn't nothing to sneeze at but a lot to laugh at. also to the guy who said top 20 isn't bad weell that's because there isn't anything atm to compete with once there is and its well balanced this game dies.

Yeah... fess up; how many damn accounts do you have here. I have ONE. Losers create multiple alts so they can be their own shills, supporting their own posts and upvote themselves. It is a weird, sick behavior.

I feel like if they need an edge taken off, it's not my responsibility to do that for them. It's up to them to remember that it's a video game.

I just find it helps to personalize that good sportsmanship handshake at the end, so they know I did see something that impressed me. And truth be told, I've always seen something in a match that caught me off guard or was impressive, so I don't have to dig for that or make it up. I've been on the receiving end of a few curb-stompings in my time (I'm sure we all have) and a little courtesy goes a long way. It was just how I was brought up. I don't think you are doing anything wrong in not personalizing it. I merely commented on what I do.

    ^Title

This happened in a match earlier today. I was playing solo queue with (i'm assuming) 3 other random players, and we were obliterated by a Billy. It was so bad that none of the Survivors earned over 10K bloodpoints (and we all de-pipped), while the Killer got around 18K.

In the post game chat, the killer typed 'GG WP'. My response was 'Was it really?' because clearly it wasn't a good game or well played. lol

As a survivor, do you think it's rude when a Killer types out 'GG' when it was a slaughter? As a killer, would you still type of 'GG' when you have dominated? I know that I typically don't post 'GG' in the post game chat if it was a really one-sided trial.

Not at all. I always say GG. However, if you have slaughtered the entire team, it sometimes helps to throw in a specific move or thing they did that you thought was good. I find that takes the edge off a bit.

LOOOOOOOOOT of crying killers here. Is that normal?

This is an incorrect assumption. Most of the people in this thread play both Killer and Survivor (often equally). I don't like seeing tea-baggers regardless of what role I'm currently playing.

Imagine how bad I felt when I accidentally crouched on 2 downed survivor as pig because I mixed m2 and control when I tried to put the rbt on them.

    Honestly, not being sarcastic here.

Yeah, I'm sure you aren't the only new Pig player that has happened to, but once you knew how to do it... I'm sure you didn't continue the behavior? We aren't really talking about accidental faux pas, but rather patterns of rude, unsportsmanlike behavior repeated over and over again.

  • @Tsulan said:

We had Undying Ruin, that gave killers a reason to spread damage, keep survivors away from gens, aka do everything except tunnel&camp. All for the little price of survivors doing an extra objective. But that price was apparently to high. Undying was nerfed and now survivors complain, because killers went back to tunneling and camping?

    Like really?

What did you expect would happen after the nerf?!

I know, right? This was predictable; in fact, many of us said "be careful what you wish for" back when the nerf was being discussed. Like Barbecue & Chili (which now some Survivors want nerfed too) that Perk combination was the most effective anti-camping and anti-tunneling change the game enjoyed in a long time.

All that being said, I think a rework of Undying would have have been fine had it been something that didn't take the stress off those secondary Objectives. My thought for reworking it was:

    Undying (No Longer a Hex)

The first time a Hex is destroyed it will randomly just move to an unlit Totem. Thus each Hex can move once, and only once. If there are no available unlit Totems, the Hex is lost as normal. The Levels of the Perk would show the Aura of someone actively working on cleansing a Totem, i.e. at 3/5/7 seconds.

My rework would have made sure Ruin didn't bounce around multiple times, but is guaranteed at least one 2nd chance, and it would have provided some value to have other Hexes in play while at the same time providing a huge incentive to Players to kill those Dull Totems. Sadly, the rework they went with pretty much made the Perk useful with Devour Hope and a few niche builds.

Some random dude that you don't even know is doing it in DBD, why do you even care? It is not even real teabagging, because they are not doing it over your virtual dead body.

Or is it that teabagging reminds you that the survivor (or the whole SWF team) is a better player and you just simply can't accept this fact that they are better?

It is bad sportsmanship; that is enough reason to consider it bad for the game and idiotic. There is a reason the NFL (and other sports franchises) fine the crud out of coaches and players who engage in it. When you are playing a game (amateur or pro) against other people, a certain degree of sportsmanship is the expectation. Doing otherwise is betrayal of that social contract. You are being rude to be rude. It is like weird, juvenile people who flip the bird at strangers or yell insults to people for no apparent reason. See below:

The NFL has fined Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams $250,000 for flipping a double bird during Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The fine is a swift and decisive action by the league that misconduct won’t be tolerated, whether it’s players on the field or owners in luxury boxes. Adams apologized, and he indicated that [more]

Games are supposed to be fun, and adding some kind of weird insults outside of the game itself just to try and aggravate other people shows you to be a defective person, not worthy of my time. Why would I want to throw any games your way when there are people who are worthy? Killers who hit people on the hook are engaging in the same bad manners. Killers (like Ghostface) who can tea-bag players deserve the same contempt. I don't let Tea-baggers trigger me, but that doesn't mean I approve of the behavior or cut said people any slack whatsoever.

    1. My initial post said exactly what I suggested. White and Yellow add ons/items only. 15% longer gen and sacrifice speeds
    2. Every other casual mode in every other game rewards all play, but incentivized ranked/comp play with far greater rewards and daily challenges
    3. I literally said half
    4. why would anyone be kicked out of casual play, as I said it would match make off your earned rank but not effect rank, and it locks what you can use
    5. there is no definite win con in dbd, but with the decreased bp gain you'll need to play ranked to rebuild up your add on pool either way
    6. Every other game has a casual and comp pool, usually ranked has longer que times but that shouldnt actually be an issue here seeing as most people are used to ranked play
    7. casual isnt like a separate bracket, as we've been discussing, every game has a ranked game mode, and a casual game mode, they are separate and you choose when to play them
    8. the only cosmetics you earn from gameplay are through rift, trying to grind such things in casual would be foolish seeing as youd have reduced rift gains. It is likely certain tomes would be locked to specific modes, as that is how other games often handle battle pass challenges
    9. The Devs would have the final say, but in general, the difference between ranked and casual games is that you have shorter times to accomplish goals, and things take longer to do. Going off rainbow six as the example we used before, in casual you get an extra minute of play time, and the bomb defuser takes half the time to plant. The only timed equivalents are gens and hooks, so the obvious answer is to make each of them take slightly longer. Disabling the highest tier add ons also limit the more aggressive mechanics, so thats kinda an obvious choice.
    10. Realistically there is no perk or build that is so oppressive that it should be game breaking in this environment. If you HAD to remove perks, the simplest answer is no hex or exhaustion perks can be used in this mode, but I personally would not advocate for that

As I keep saying however, you are clearly not reading my messages. I have said, literally each of these things already. Literally not a single one of these are new to this conversation.

And once again, Im not proposing any crazy new idea, DBD is the outlier. Every other competitive game has a Ranked setting for high risk-high reward, optimized play, a casual mode for a matchmaking, qued game for intermediate play, and a custom game for an unrewarded, friend v friend environment, with no matchmaking system. This is not a new concept, we've had these systems for as long as online gaming as been a thing. We're talking almost 20 years now... I shouldn't have to spell these things out for you

I appreciate that you took the time to answer these questions, most of them anyway. But I suspect you still aren't understanding what I'm getting at in asking them. OBX, another poster here, clearly does. Most people define a "casual" mode as less competitive, or less sweaty to use the slang I do not like. The very notion and idea you put forward gives the impression (unless they look at the specifics) that a lot of things they think are problems would be addressed. Your suggestions do not address them at all. People don't spend most of their time calling for a casual mode complaining about the Add-On(s). The spend their time wishing the SWF would go away, tunneling would be a thing of the past, camping would be against the rules, and slugging not allowed.

In short, most people see "casual" games as those where people don't fight so hard to win, using the ANY tactic that gets results. I submit that what you have defined (and I still don't think it is specific enough) wouldn't be casual at all. It would still be just as hard fought and have just as many people complaining. In short, your version of a "casual" mode isn't going to fit their expectations. There are lots of things on your list that think are fine and could go into the existing Que. I think you will find if you went back through my posts (and your own) that we aren't that far apart on some things. The reason we are at odds here is because the devil is in the details. What you are calling casual isn't what most people are asking for when they say they want a casual game.

I'd like to, and I am not being an ass here, point out a few unintended consequences of the changes you propose.

    1. Killer diversity would take a nose dive. Many of the so-call "less effective" Killers have build changes via Add-on(s) that don't necessarily make them better but do change how they play. Without access to those Add-on(s) they simply won't be chosen. Most Players will gravitate to those Killers who are already plug and play ready. Consider Spirit, even without a single Add-On she is a terror. How much more often will she be played over those Killers that are literally Add-On dependent? And remember, most of the Killer Add-On(s) that mean anything are Purple. Survivors are far less impacted by Add-On changes than Killers.
    2. Survivors have Perks which allows them to pull fancy Equipment during the match, and even ones with spicy Add-On(s) which will bypass your limitation. This would have to be addressed would it not?
    3. Wouldn't extending both Generator and Sacrifice time only lengthen a match without altering anything specific? More to the point, if you increased both of those things, would SLUGGING would become the most common tactic in the game. If it takes longer to put someone down, the four person slug before hooking anyone is more effective; then it doesn't matter how long they are on the hook.
    4. In turn, if slugging is the new competitive META due to the change in hooks and generators, won't that also create less diversity in Survivor Perks? Those that allow people to get back up would pretty much be auto-include.
    5. In addition, wouldn't it be prudent for the Killer to down someone and then camp in the general vicinity of the downed person to then slug as many in the same area as possible so they can hit the people who try to jump back up? I mean in theory, since slugging would be more effective in this format, it is quite likely that people would spend most of their time on the ground in long, bleeding out matches to only then spend extended time on the hooks due to extended sacrifice time.

I'm not going to go to ten just to be an ass, but when I brainstormed I came up with twenty-two problematic issues that came up. Some of them are new created by your format, and some of them are the same ones we face now. My point, and again I was never against your utopian ideal of somehow achieving your goal, is that there is nothing less competitive in this format. In short order why would anyone stay there if they are still having Sweaty games and earning LESS XP and BP? It would be the same thing with just different tactics and less reward. I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud just to be a stick in the mud. I'm drawing attention to the fact that how YOU define casual is not how most people see it, and there would be nothing casual about your version. It would just have fewer options but just as cutthroat.

Who didn't care what you said or what your opinions were just blindly agreed. If that is what killers go through every night .Do you wish there parents dead as well. I will never forget or forgive that.So game on female dogs you asked for it you got it. And I really do apologize to killer mains if survivors talk like that to you

Never accept an invite like that; it never ends well. Killers do deal with Salt like that off/on. I'd say nearly every Killer Player has experienced it once, and most will get the displeasure of such bad sportsmanship many times. The key thing is to play both roles and just do your best. The only real credo to hold yourself to is:

    1. Don't cheat, either by hack or lag spike.
    2. Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
    3. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

Try to do #3 even when the people are awful to you. Don't give them the satisfaction of dragging you down to their level. The best revenge is to just keep getting better and beating them and being polite about it. :)

You have asked this question 10 times 10 different ways and still have yet to get it answered. I fear it likely won’t be answered since the answer is ultimately having the same exact Q we currently have except it will be labeled as casual.

I know; they are avoiding answering it because they can't without proving my point. :) I just like making them squirm. I don't begrudge them the utopian ideal of this "casual" Que; it sounds nice in theory. It just doesn't work. It has never worked anywhere, and the particulars of DbD make the game particularly ill-suited to try it here.

God you really lack some braincells the more of your "arguments" I read, you have now pointed out the reason "chill" modes don't exist to you is your own tryharding in every game. With such a competitive mindset as you put it you could never really see how these modes are more casual. You are part of why those modes fail to be truly casual. You also once again fail to remember that we want something for with random people, swf is only those you know/invite. Its not the same thing.

Personal attacks are not an effective argument. There is a problem you are overlooking. I've pointed it out several times. Everyone defines a casual game differently. If you do your games with "random" people, they are unlikely to agree with your version of how it should be played. How exactly is this other Que to be defined? Who gets to decide? What if you create one, and there are people who still feel it is too competitive?

For the record, I never pretended to be anything but a competitive person. I would not be playing in the Que you are describing, or care what you do there. I want a hard game, a challenge. However, I do know that a lot of people don't want a challenge, but they like to WIN. Your casual game would just be a slaughterhouse where people, who preferring winning over effort, would slip in and proceed to play like a Tryhard. Do you see where I'm going with this? How would you keep them out? We already have people who sandbag themselves to go down and play newbies, and people who create new accounts to do the same. Do you really think they are going to have a problem with lying about being casual? :)

You keep saying go play another game but the thing is that dbd is such a one of a kind game you don't have the option to just find another. There's knockoffs and similar but nothing quite with the same style of play like this. Those other games while still not being "chill" do have a higher rate of being able to relax and not facing tryhards. Its not meant to be perfect its meant to give a higher likelihood of less sweats. Your only good argument has been about not splitting the player base too much.

And let me point out the contradiction in your statement and desire. DbD is a one of a kind game, because it doesn't try to be like all the others. Perhaps, I'm just spitballing here, that is because it doesn't have a slower gear. Trying to shoehorn one in is just as likely to be bad for the game as good. And for the record, I didn't say "I" won't change it because it would split the Player base; I said why the DEV won't create a another Que. I don't get a say in those things; I merely understand why.

You still cant ######### read. Jesus #########. I literally said a casual mode would deserve some, but far less rewards. Your mention of ques was not your first point, I pointed out the flaws in your original points so you kept jumping ship until I agreed that it is the single POSSIBLE issue. I also mentioned how the influx of players would likely counteract that, but that both of us were being speculative which is unfair.

You keep going in circles, you keep backtracking, you cant ######### read.

I explained the point of all three gamemodes. I explained why literally every other major title has them. I explained the difference between a casual and custom gamemode. But because all you want to do is make... honestly really poor... analogies over and over again, and keep talking down to someone who is actual listing points and using examples while all you do is say "that cant work because... uh uh... I dont know how it would?" then you're just a ######### dipshit.

All sound and fury, signifying nothing... I read every word you wrote. You stated what you wanted, what you think it will be, but not really how. That is a pretty big omission. And to recap, insulting me in no way strengthens your argument. In fact, it undermines you. Also, the fact that you can't keep up with my arguments, or understand them, doesn't mean they are wrong. I'm perfectly happy to let you keep making a fool of yourself, and discuss this for eternity with you. The longer we discuss it, the more clear it becomes to anyone (masochistic enough to still be reading) why your idea of a casual mode will never work. In short, you are the perfect sounding board for me. You make your position sound utterly ludicrous. But let's get into specifics...

    1. How will you keep out the people who SAY they are there for a casual game but are really ruthless Killers?
    2. You say they will get less rewards for playing casual, but why should they get ANY rewards?
    3. And if they are getting rewards, what percentage are you suggesting?
    4. What metrics will be used to kick people out of the casual play?
    5. If someone is always winning, does that mean they aren't casual enough?
    6. Will we need another casual Que for those who find the one you suggest still too competitive?
    7. What about people who just make another account to pretend to be casual?
    8. Should people in the casual que be eligible for certain cosmetics, charms and such that people have to earn?
    9. And who will decide what (if any) special casual rules apply?
    10. And who decides what Killers, Perks, etc. are not fit for casual play?

I could keep going, and probably will as our discussion progresses. If you truly want this thing, then you need to give a LOT more specifics on how you think this will work, so we can figure out the unintended consequences. Going back to that earned rewards thing, let's talk some more about why some people should be able to earn ANY rewards and thus unlock certain things if they aren't really playing against the same odds as everyone else. Would casual preclude SWF, i.e. all casual games must be Solo then? A SWF is not casual for the Killer.

"hey you have a car, and I have a car, so why do we need a bus service in this town?". Its still such a non argument. Other games have less competitive sections for availability, expanding the community and allowing people to learn a game in a semi competitive environment so they can then experience what a game really has to offer. The lower ranks in dbd really are awful. They are full of campers, tunnelers, and overall just really poor players trying to rank up with non-viable gameplay. A casual setting, as in all games, provides an opportunity to walk before you can run.

I can't figure out if you are literally just trolling or actually this ignorant at this point

Right now I'm laughing at you. Are you seriously calling ME a troll after all the personal attacks you have lobbed along with your edited language? :) This is the situation. The OP (and you) have said you want a chill/casual/relaxed/whatever mode. I advised you:

    1. That is isn't going to happen.
    2. Why it isn't going to happen (logistics of the Ques).
    3. And offered you an option that gives you a work around (Custom Game).

You didn't like my answers. Not liking my answers and attacking me personally (as amusing as I find it) doesn't alter any facts or refute my points. The discussion between us was over a long time ago in so far as the debate. But since you seem to want to continue our little chat, let me ask you exactly HOW you think this casual game should be achieved, how it will keep out the wolves among the sheep, and why you think people who are playing "casually" should earn as much BP or XP as those who are working for it?

People who heckle and demand things from the DEV from the cheap seat are always endlessly fascinating to me. To hear you guys talk, balancing the game, fixing that bug, creating an alternate casual system is a snap. Why I'll bet you think you could have it coded and whipped up over a weekend right? The DEV, you know the people whose very jobs depend on this game being successful, they clearly don't know near as much as you. Why they should give you a job! There, now I'm trolling just a bit to make you happy.

Again, you can already play as casually as you like with people of like minds in a Custom Game. It exists as an option for you 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The DEV created that with people who to set their own limits in mind. The complexity of the game for NORMAL matchmaking is already proving to be a tough nut for the company to crack. Now you want them to put another pot on the stovetop and somehow create this relaxed version where everyone taking part will magically conform to the standards you want? Really?

  • As someone who plays Spooky Myers, who has no terror radius, I agree that it should be a set range. If the Killer is within a certain range, whether they have a terror radius or not, Borrowed Time should activate. I think that is only fair and right.

I didn't pull anything; the theatrics were all YOURS. You are the ones asking for something, demanding it in fact. You gave us a lot of jive about other games having what you want. 99% of all games : Have a designated casual mode with functioning matchmaking : reward the play against people

99% of games : Have a designated, harder, more competitive ranked mode, with greater rewards for playing

99% of games : Have a custom mode with your ability to choose maps, abilities, and other modifiers you normally have no control over

When you can explain wh dbd needs to follow a different pattern, for literally any reason, you can get off your high horse. Because false equivalencies still aren't an argument

Sure, I can do that for you. DbD is a successful game NOW. They do that by keeping their Ques moving. They aren't going to fix what isn't broken. :)

yes because everyone always has five people available. You also get literally no reward of any kind for this, no bp, no xp towards tomes, but if you want to say ignoring the fact that customs games physically exist as ignoring the "many points" you claim to have made, then that is just very diluted... The games listed all have custom games AND casual modes, there is a time and place for each and you know that. Its okay to be wrong, but if you want to just keep changing what your goal is then this isn't a discussion, its me explaining at you for twenty minutes :/

You went from "no game would ever do such a thing" to "yea but its just the same" to "yea but no one would want it" to "yea but we have it already"

Your first and most recent points are literally antitheses to each other. You are arguing for the sake of it. Doubling down on a wrong answer is so much worse than just admitting you might have been wrong

Actually it is SUPER easy, barely an inconvenience. Whenever I want a custom game, and my regular pals aren't available, I jump on to Discord and it takes a few minutes at most. I've even picked up casual players with a post. Again, do not blame the game or the Dev if you can't be bothered to FIND the people who want to play by your terms. They are out there; I'm sure.

*P.S. I said the kind of casual game YOU want mandated into a Que is impossible. I have now pointed out an alternate way for you to get one. You should be elated. And you don't need XP or BP or any of those things when everything is UNLOCKED in the Custom Game. And you don't DESERVE those things earned in a game with less work than everyone else.

For literally the third time now, and Im opening with this because for as far as your head is up your own ass, you still can't read ######### english. I have no intention on using a casual dbd mode. I personally do not want or need that environment, I prefer the optimized competition of a rank 1 swf trying to survive against me, playing out a fair game where I get my 12 hooks without having to rely on crutch perks or tunneling or some #########. Im here for the difficult, highly optimized game. I think disregarding the less competitive setting as pointless and as something that isn't integral in a game's health is ridiculous though, and I think many people would enjoy such a mode.

You haven't given a single reason as to why it wouldn't functionally work other than "different people call chill a different thing". The argument for slower que times is not a problem with the system itself, it is a potential issue with matchmaking. If more people were playing in general because of the casual mode that wouldn't be an issue, but if thats the route we want to go down neither of us can speak on fact, those are both pure speculation.

You're 100% just talking out of your ass whenever you reference a different game. Different gamemodes 100% have different mechanics. In rainbow for example, ranked games have a pick/ban phase and the defenders get to select which bomb site they want to defend. The ranked diffuser has DOUBLE the activation time, and they get a minute less per round. Ranked Siege has even outright banned new ops in the past in ranked. There are also more rounds in a game.

This is just one example, but each of the games I listed have vastly different casual and ranked gameplay mechanics that force a more team oriented and calculated play style. You aren't being pragmatic, you're just talking out of your ass because you realized someone actually put some amount of thought into something and you can't poke holes in it because you don't know what the ######### you're talking about.

And Jesus ######### christ, lose the god complex. "YOU ARE ALL BOTS TO ME", "ITS A PIPE DREAM", "LET ME GIVE YOU THREE CONSECUTIVE ANALOGIES SO I CAN JERK OFF MY GIANT PENIS". Holy ######### who do you think you are? Its so ######### cringy. Its a discussion board, make some points and discuss or go back to your living inside your giant ######### head

Heh. Watch your blood pressure there champ. If I trigger you that easy, I can only imagine what the game does to you. The option to have casual games ALREADY exists for anyone who wants to use it. If people choose to disregard it, they have only themselves to blame. Custom game exists for people who want to implement (with like-minded folks) whatever rules they want, and try out whatever they want. So let me REPEAT: the mode already exists.

Getting angry at me doesn't in any way negate the points I've made. You said that the DEV should make a casual mode for people who want to play it. I've pointed out (and you are ignoring) that mode already exists. If people go into the Ques, they get whomever they get matched with and should understand that. If people don't like the heat, they stay out of the kitchen. The game provides them with an alternate way of playing.

When he is probably the weakest killer in the game? This makes no sense. Trapper is perfect for the role of poster boy, but as that he should be among the three strongest killers in the game.

So you nerf Billy and soon Freddy ok then get Trapper up there instead. You know he deserves it!

Trapper is the poster boy because he is cool, regardless of success rate. Of the originals he is the coolest daddo-o... just as Mikey is the bee's knees of the licensed Killers.

Thats just... really not true. Like in any metric. There is no dialogue or focused strategy in casual siege, its you play your role and then execute. In ranked everything is calculated, every position is held, no one is dicking around, it is optimized. In overwatch it really is just deathmatch in casual. Ranked has such an important balance that needs to be kept to maintain in the higher ranks. You need to optimize positioning in ways that just will not be seen in unranked. League... holy ######### if you think their casual gamemodes are anything other than casual then you are playing at some low ######### ranks in the ranked modes...

Im not selling bridges, you are just being wholly unrealistic. Optimization and execution are the key factors of a competitive setting, and if you can't understand that then its clear you've never experiences a highly competitive setting...

Im not calling it a chill mode at this because that is an oversimplification, its casual, it isnt optimized, its just people playing the game. By every definition, it is not a competitive setting. If you are so hung up on the word "chill mode" you are either 12 or just don't want to address the discussion.

I never sad that there weren't flaws, the biggest certain is que times. It is also possible that the many people interested in asymmetrical horror but who are too frustrated to learn the optimizations would thrive in a casual setting, one we are not providing for them. While yes that is far less likely, it is possible that the community size would increase with such an addition.

And almost as if you aren't reading anything Im saying, as if that weren't already obvious, I said it is not a feature I would use because I prefer the competitive setting in general. That doesn't change the fact that this addition needs to exist in some form

I am reading what you are saying; it is a pipe dream. It doesn't exist. As to whether or not I play in competitive formats, I gravitate toward them. I live for them. I'm one of the most competitive people you are ever going to talk to here or anywhere else. Perhaps what is odd about me is that I largely am competing with myself. At the end of the day, you are all just Bots to me. I'm trying to beat my last best record, not you.

In regards to PvP games, I'm simply more pragmatic than you are in this matter. Games are not MADE casual by the designers. They are only as relaxed as the Players engaged in them. This is a huge player base in a PvP game. That means most matches are going to be hard fought by one or more of the people involved. The only time you are going to hit a casual game is when matchmaking puts you up against someone you should not be playing. That is reality.

I've pointed this out before, and I will again many times I'm sure. If you want specific limits, choose CUSTOM GAME and get together with like-minded individuals. You can play as casual/chill/relaxed/easy-going/etc. as you want. DbD has given you this mode already. Go use it. Quit trying to insist the rest of us have to cater to YOU. You have the option; use it.

Literally haven't seen a single one used since the nerf. You'd think there's be at least some players who just like the animations?

I see them now and then, but not often. Most people don't use them for a specific reason; they are effective only if you play seriously ruthless dirty. You hook, play keep away until they hit 2nd Stage, and then tunnel and mori off the hook. It works like a charm EVERY time. Most Killers (myself included) don't want to be that guy/gal.

  • Why is it so important to you that I believe you are a long time player? That would be worse you know, right? It would mean after all this time you still speak and act like a Potato. That would be pathetic. There is no shame in being new, and not knowing enough yet. We ALL start that way. There WOULD be shame in being around for years and years and still not being able to deal with tunneling.

My first games of DbD were in July of 2016. I didn't care for the game and moved on. That doesn't count for me either. :) Consistent, regular play is the only thing that matters, and in that I didn't start until last year. In that time, I've come to enjoy the game and racked in countless matches and a lot of hours. Time in the field, paying one's dues is the only way to get better at this game.

Did I ask for your help no I ask you to stay away from hooks unless your carrying survivor.

I beg to differ. Your posts here are a cry for help. You may not think so, but everyone who has answered you does. All the kind people who have tried to help you, can hear the distress in your voice. If you don't want us to rush to your rescue, don't play the damsel in distress. You may think you are are being righteous and calling out some injustice, but you aren't in fact doing that. You are telegraphing to all of us who know how to play the game that you DO NOT... that you need help... that you want to do better. You just don't know how to get there.

I'm going to be brutally honest with you now. I don't believe your claim that you have been playing this game regularly for years. It is clear from what you say that isn't true. You need a reality check. The DEV have already stated, many times, that Tunneling and Camping are legitimate tactics in this game. They aren't going to change anything for you. Other Players (both Survivor and Killer) are going to play the way they are going to play. You have no power over them. The only thing you can affect directly is your OWN play style. That is where you can get a return on your time.

There is such a thing as a CUSTOM GAME where you and your friends (or people of like mind) can get together and set any rules you want for one another. All the Perks and Add-on(s) available to earn in the regular Que are unlocked entirely for you there. The only limit is what you and yours set. Go play. You can have the games exactly the way you and yours want them. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Half of your argument was a list of analogies and the other half was deconstructing the world chill. A casual mode still exists in most games with competitive PVP, its not that that isnt a good argument, its that that isnt an argument. Its done in literally every other example of game, saying it wouldnt work because its PVP makes no sense. The point of a casual gamemode is the stakes are low and everyone's abilities are kept to a minimum.

Look at R6, Overwatch, LOL, there are casual gamemodes for every very competitive game. Its not that people aren't trying, its that they aren't trying as much. They don't want to have anxiety playing a game they enjoy all the time. This isn't about toning down dbd, its about letting you choose when you wanna really go at it.

The measures were listed in my first message. Its done in literally every other comparable environment and setting, so Im not the one being unrealistic. And personally I would literally never use the casual mode, I play at high red ranks and don't mind having to play in a highly optimized way, doesn't change the fact that I think there should be a casual mode :/

I play all of those games. Their "chill mode" as you put it is no less competitive than the main one. Sell bridges somewhere else. :) Again, this is the game. It isn't going to change for lots of logistical reasons. Let me explain:

    1. The spice must flow. Please forgive my inner geek coming out there, but that analogy is the nail on the head. This game only works with there being enough Killers to Survivors so that the Ques don't grind to a halt. Breaking the game into multiple Ques will dilute the Player Base which is why they haven't fixed a more PRESSING problem of the SWF. They are adverse to breaking up the Ques into more than one because it is hard enough keeping one running smoothly. Do you see my point?
    2. Nobody agrees on what "Chill Mode" would entail. Nobody agrees on anything.
    3. All the games that have a so-called Chill Mode are lies. I play them too. They are still not chill.

Again, we circle back to my original point. This is the game. You accept and embrace it, or you find one you like better. There is no shame in saying, "You know what, I don't enjoy DbD, I think I'll vagabond on to something I do enjoy." I won't judge you. We won't even know you are gone. Those of us who do enjoy the game are too busy, nor do we care. What is important is that you find the right game for you. The success of DbD (and it is very successful) indicates that there are quite a lot of people who enjoy it. Why do some insist that it be fixed to their liking rather than the more practical realistic solution of them just finding something they like?

Every time someone says something about tunneling or camping on this forum, you all blast them. And there's many post on here you all told me get better it stops I did. It didn't I just want it gone. The problem is when I was yellow ranks these killers were coming up with me. But you all encourage them to keep up good work and nice job do tunneling went from taboo to a strategy.

I blast them, as you so eloquently put it, because I believe in tough love. You will NEVER get better at this game until you own your failures. That's right, I said failures. We all jump to take credit when we kick butt, but never show the same enthusiasm when we fail. You get better at this game (all games) by knowing your weaknesses even better than your strengths. You don't shy away from them. You don't scapegoat the game or others. You acknowledge that you have a problem, and you start to work on mitigating or beating it.

When I see posts like yours, I see a kid floundering in the deep end of the pool that doesn't know how to swim. I step in and sternly tell them to RELAX and give suggestions on how to improve. People either ignore me and drown, or they listen to me (and many others like me) and start to dog paddle and eventually swim like champs. That is your choice too. Do you want to get good, or do you just enjoy ranting over here? Lots of people enjoy ranting; is that your thing? Me? I enjoy playing the game. Contrary to the evidence, I don't enjoy these posts. I do it out a sick sense of obligation. If you get better, the overall number of players get better, and I get better games.

Again patrol gens not hooks and tunneling is catching the same survivor over n over again I till dead break chases don't hit other survivors .This is not my first rodeo

Heh. You could have fooled me; you sound like you are still in the Potato Ranks (or an entitled Green at best). MOM! This isn't fair! Fix it for me! That is what I hear when I read your post. Most people outgrow this behavior in the real world and go through it briefly again when new to this game. From my point of view, this is your first rodeo, because you talk and act like it is your first one.

I'm still taking it easy on you, because it is clear you don't know better. I haven't taken my rhetorical sledgehammer out of the closet yet, because I'm hoping I can reach you with kinder, more gentle methods. You may be acting like a child, but I suspect you aren't one in the real world. That means some part of you does understand what I (and others) are telling you. So with that in mind...

    1. Everyone is playing the same game you are and encountering (statistically) the same things.
    2. If everyone is experiencing the same things, why are some of us managing to thrive when you are not?
    3. If your statements were true, there would be a lot more people complaining and a more obvious problem.
    4. Isn't it possible that you are incorrectly identifying when you are being tunneled and when you are just bad?
    5. Unsafe rescues are the norm. This is unfortunate but true. Too many Survivors will go for risky unhooks, outright farm you, not bring Borrowed Time, vanish like Ninja the second they unhook you, won't take protection hits, won't take hooks, and have an alarming tendency to unhook you with YOU between them and the Killer. This list could go on for a LONG time but that defeats the purpose of me numbering things.
    6. You are biased. I'm sorry but this is true. You are not objectively looking at YOUR own failures.
    7. You are scapegoating the game and other Players for your own failures.
    8. Your calls for PUNISHMENT indicate your state of mind; show us on the doll were the bad killer touched you.
    9. You give no thought (and have no interest) in the fact the Killer is also a Player just doing their best too.
    10. It is possible this game isn't for you.

DbD is a PvP game with a horror theme. There is nothing fair about it. It has too many variables to ever balance. Matchmaking will always be weird until they give up on it entirely and go completely to "first in first out" which they already do when the Ques get clogged. Sometimes the Survivors have the edge based on random things, and sometimes the Killer clearly has the edge. We all, like the Dude, must abide. We do our best; that is all anyone can do. You are letting silly things trigger you. There is an excellent video that I looked up for you. It helped me. It can help you:

I am normally tunneled. Tunneling is the new norm.

There is nothing new about tunneling, nor is it any more or less prevalent than it has always been. It just seems that way to you because you feel like the world is out to get you. Most Survivors incorrectly identify tunneling (as you are). Most of the time, you get back on that hook because of an unsafe rescue by your peers. I'm not really awake yet; I'm still bleary-eyed and prone to typos so I'm not going to give you a normal, thorough answer, but it suffices to say that you don't know what you are talking about. The issue isn't one the DEV can solve for you, nor is it the responsibility of Killers to help you with it. This issue is YOURS and that of your fellow Survivors.

There are many videos and articles that talk about proper, safe rescues. There are many that explain the value of taking protection hits and trading hooks. Look into them.

there is no other competitive game that doesn't have a casual mode. There is always a ranked setting, and a casual setting. The only exceptions are battle royales which do not have a ranked mode of any kind in the first place, because how the hell would you matchmake 100 people?

the solution is simple. just limit add ons and items to the white and yellow tiers, boom, instant casual mode. Maybe slow gen and sacrifice speed by 15%. There you go, unranked, casual mode where everything is a bit more relaxed. It could still use your rank for matchmaking, but there would be no reason to sweat. It could prob give less bp too, for the sake of incentivizing the ranked mode, but it 1000% would work and should exist in some form

Except for the fact that doesn't work. People sandbag themselves to be wolves among the sheep. People create dummy accounts to be the fox in the henhouse. There is no way to create a "chill mode" for this game because all that would do is ensure that some non-chill types would go get their sick jollies at the expense of those looking to relax.

This is a PvP game. The theme is horror and the design is stress. It is not compatible with a "chill" mindset. The measures needed to accomplish this are almost impossible. More to the point, "chill" is a state of mind and very subjective. No two people are going to agree on what it means. The more direct, honest answer is that if you are not enjoying the game, take a break, find another game, or read a book. Be realistic.

Losing just makes you a smurf and puts you against players that are so bad its just boring. This didn't used to be the game. Back when it first came out and for a long time this wasn't how it was. Quit your snide remarks (despite saying you weren't trying to be that last line definitely was) because the game is just what the players make it, if this is your response as a player I see why the game has lost some charm.

I wasn't being snide. I'm very direct when I want to be snide. This has ALWAYS been the game. Looking back at it through rose-colored glasses is deluding yourself. There is a time when you know nothing. There is a time when you know a little. There is a time when you know a lot. The same is true for everyone else. Getting back to that magic time when everyone only knew a "little" is impossible. You can't go home again. This is the game; accept it and embrace it or find something you like better. I'm being direct and pragmatic. The "chill time" has come and gone for you. Others will still experience "chill" because it is STAGE of development, nothing more. For you that has come and gone.

  • I spent an entire match pretending to be afraid of flashlights, i.e. looking at the wall when I picked up Survivors, turning away from the light, or approaching backwards. I had Lightborn, and chose not to reveal it until the next to last, wounded Survivor stood her ground to try and do a flashlight save. I walked up and slugged her and then hung them up. When we got to the after game chat and they could see my build all I heard was, "you bastard."

  • @mexicowl said:

It is so hard to enjoy playing when you get to the higher ranks on either side anymore. I love this game and when I have fun its really fun, however its becoming more and more rare to have a "normal" game. On survivors side you frequently end up facing tunnelers and campers who ruin the game for everyone. On killers every game feels like gen rush, dead hard, decisive, and borrowed time. Yes there's counters but why must we be stuck in a loop? To counter tunneling and camping we need to bring in borrowed and decisive making it so we can't use other fun perks. To counter gen rushing you're practically forced to always run ruin or pop. The worst part about this is its the own player base ruining an otherwise great game but the devs don't crack down on people camping and tunneling, despite it being likely the most frustrating and worst part of the game. I just wish there was some option to play where you don't earn bloodpoints and rank so that maybe people wouldn't tryhard so bad and it could be more fun aside from just kill your friends. I want to play with random people and still have fun.

Lose. That is how you get back to "chill mode." It is a problem that self resolves. I'm not trying to be snide. This is a PvP game and the better you play (in theory) the better your opponents are going to become. For the record, there is no such thing as a "normal" game. Every match is its own thing. This is the game; if it isn't your thing, there are other games to try.

I see a lack of constructive examples in your response which leads me to believe I am right on this. Regardless of whether you believe it's unwinnable or not. The function of the perk is non negotiable and needs to be changed.

No, you are not right. I just think that your frame of reference (judging by your OP) and mine are so far apart that anything I say to you will be disregarded. You are too green. However, I'll give you the benefit of my experience with Thrill of the Hunt. I was, after all, a frequent flyer of it for awhile. Thrill of the Hunt is useful for certain Killers (like Myers) because it helped you find the Survivors general vicinity faster. Most apt Survivors start killing Totems immediately. Thus, I can expect a sound notification and get a general direction in the first twenty seconds. That is what Thrill of the Hunt is for primarily. Does it really protect your Totems? Sometimes. At the very start of the game, as you home in on the Survivors to get that first hook, you can sometimes grab someone off that Totem if you move like lightning, but it isn't anything to count on.

On a different note, you need to get your mind right. You are too new, and know too little to be making sweeping statements like "this is unwinnable." You are just going to make a fool of yourself. You have to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run. What is always fascinating to me is there is a wealth of info on the internet ( a Wiki even) that you can use to research different Perks, learn basic strategies, and even videos where top tier Killers/Survivors provide you free training. You must have either disregarded taking advantage of all that, or you just ignored all the advice they gave you. Nothing is unwinnable. That very mindset holds you back. Getting good at this game starts with accepting that all faults and failures lie within yourself. You don't pass the buck. You don't look for scapegoats. You focus on YOU. You ask yourself what can YOU do to mitigate these things you are finding troublesome.

My first bit of advice is to start recording your matches. Watch them later with a less biased eye. You will find, even if you were sure you played perfectly, that you did not. It is far more important to know your own weaknesses than it is to know your strengths. You can't solve a problem until you realize and admit you have one. You will, one day, look back on this thread with a bit of embarrassment. That is a good thing; it will mean you have grown.

  • @Spill said:

We all know how Undying went down... It's insane to think that was even allowed. Notifying the killer every time you tried to cleanse and RNG making you have to cleanse up to 4 times... Crazy... I don't think I ever saw a killer without ruin/undying combo and landslide victories during that time.

Well I'm here bc of a new perk combo that is 100% unwinnable.

Haunted Grounds, Undying, Ruin, & Thrill of the Hunt.

Only 1 of those perks is the actual problem. Can you guess which one?

    Thrill of the Hunt...

It notifies the killer when and where you are trying to cleanse a hex and reduces the speed at which you cleanse (And bloodpoint payout incentive)

Which leads me to my issue. There should be no (0) (ZERO) perks that alert killers when & where you are cleansing hexes. These perks change gameplay dramatically (totally fine) which is why they are cleansable. It should be the killer's sole responsibility to defend these perks. I don't think the devs fully understand or calculate when creating these hexes how they can be used together.

So here's a simple fix to make this at least a fair shot for survivors. The killer gets a notification that hex is being cleanse but not WHERE. Don't you think that makes sense for a perk called Thrill of the HUNT?

I just laughed so hard I snorted soda out my nose. Really? Unwinnable huh? You have so many more pressing (actual) obstacles before you in this journey we call DbD.

  • @gatsby said:

Interrupt a 70%+ generator after you first hook and make sure it regresses to zero.

If you can get Ruin to destroy an almost finished generator one time before it's cleansed, the Survivors essentially lost all their early game advantage and have to do the equivalent of six generators.

I applaud you wanting to offering up helpful advice, but I would suggest this isn't really something that can (or should) be counted upon. It isn't a strategy which will yield consistent results. It is more like a get lucky situation. It implies, I think, that most of the other Survivors were working on that one Generator and thus they have wasted all their effort. This doesn't actually happen that often outside the Potato Ranks. Survivors know to split up early, and work Generators in pairs at most as they become more sage. There are lots of problems here:

    1. Hex: Ruin has to survive, and it can die in the first twenty seconds of the game (often does).
    2. The Survivors you interrupt have to actually leave the area and not return or you have to camp the Gen.
    3. The Survivors are far more likely to split up and go to other Generators and take advantage of your fixation.

I'm not saying Hex: Ruin isn't a useful Perk; it is great. What I'm saying is that you win by maintaining Generator Pressure. You put Ruin in (sometimes with other things like Undying) and then focus on your chases, pressure, hooks, and creating a 3-Generator situation if the game is going badly. Focusing on any one Generator is actually a ticket to lose, unless it is the last Generator they need and for whatever reason the Survivors stupidly are fixated on it too (this happens from time to time).

I constantly get tunneled off the first hook, decisive strike, tunneled and rehooked, tunneled off second hook and killed. It's not fun. It adds nothing to the gameplay for anyone, and devs apparently either can't solve it or don't care that some people make the game no fun for others intentionally. This is costing players, myself included. I've got about 1400 hrs in the game but would have double or more if this was fixed. When someone gets tunneled like this they get frustrated at the game and quit which reduces player base. It's also totally pointless. Most people are not playing the game with friends so are unable to tell their friend to wait for a safe time to unhook or to run borrowed time.

There is no reason to leave tunneling in the game. It costs players and contributes nothing.

It's also very easily solved. Here's how. Remove DS as a perk and make it automatic for every survivor. As planned with DS make the change so if the survivor does something contributing to the team ie working on a gen etc it ends. So make DS automatic. No skillcheck, just automatic. Also make the DS timer pause if someone gets slugged. Also every DS the killer gets hit with from any survivor in game DOUBLES the stun time with no limit. Also if a killer gets hit with DS and downs the survivor immediately again DS happens again. DS timer only goes down during chase, and DS ends the second the survivor does any gens, heals, totem etc. Also DS deactivates for the last survivor in the game, and also as soon as any other survivor is hooked.

This would remove the incentive for a killer to tunnel one person out of the game and punish it, more as the killer does it more. It would not negatively affect gameplay for killers that don't intentionally tunnel. This would make the game significantly less frustrating for survivors so more new players who try the game would continue playing it and less of the experienced players would quit.

Why do people like you fib and inflate your time playing this game when you post these little rants? Do you think it adds weight to your argument? It doesn't. Most of us who actually have played this game for any amount of time instantly know you have no veracity. We tune you out or laugh at you. Honesty is the best policy when you give feedback. It also doesn't hurt to design your post in a professional, constructive way. It suffices to say that yours is none of those things.

In the interest of wanting to help someone like you, I'm going to make a few suggestions. Talk to your teammates, or get a team. Most so-called "tunneling" is nothing of the sort. It is incorrectly identified. The majority of the time you die because of unsafe rescues. Now, if you are a Potato Player, i.e. a newbie (and I think you are somewhat) you run into Potato Killers, and they do tend to camp hooks and tunnel more often. This is because they don't know more efficient methods yet. If so, it will lessen as you progress.

I've said this to so many people, and I'm sure I will say it to many more yet. You should focus on YOU. Record your games and review them later with a less biased eye. Concentrate on what YOU can do better or differently to mitigate the situation you find yourself so often. I got this advice from an Otz video, and it was true then for me, and remains true for others. Your current course of action is not productive. You will never get better at this game until you OWN your failures and accept that your limitations are just that.... YOURS. Blaming others is passing the buck and a hinderance to your own success. Focus on the things you can change, not the things you blame.

  • Thank you very much; I appreciate the heads up as I always need more BP for my Myers.

I think that rehooking the same survivor, whether it be consecutively or within x amount of time, should just resume the hook timer where it left off as opposed to jumping to the next state. This would massively cut down the strength of tunneling, as it would be a very ineffective strategy and survivors won't feel like DS is necessary.

As for camping, I don't really see it as a problem other than it's just really boring. It's already punished via the emblem system and the only real problem with it is that in solo queue the only way teammates can know the killer is camping is if you have Kindred.

This is an interesting idea, and I don't know if they tested this one. They tested a lot of other things though.

    Let me itemize as well.

    1. Strawman - I never said they weren't valid tactics. I said the tactics were not fun for a majority of players.
    2. I have no idea why this matters.
    3. Strawman - This isn't even part of the argument.
    4. Strawman - I never said that it was the Killers job to make the game fun for survivors. But it is the Devs job to make the game fun for it's player base.
    5. Ad Hominem
    6. Ad Hominem
    7. Ad Hominem

Whole paragraph of Ad Hominem attacks.

Here's my question again and maybe you can give us an adequate reason for you answer.

    ---

Except for end game collapse (which almost everyone understands the point of this), what purpose does camping serve to make the game a better experience for all players?

In a word, no. You need to retake basic Philosophy 101 where they go over Fallacies. I want to point out that you make a very large assumption, choosing to speak for the majority of players. You don't. My points all still stand. The game isn't changing. Those things ARE the game. You can take it or leave it; the choice is yours. Being a bad sport and ranting about it over here is just a waste of your time and energy.

  • Well on any given day, depending on the matches, my Rank will change. So I'll list the ranges I tend to sit at:

    Killer: 1-3

    Survivor: 3-7

*Survivor has a bigger swing because I play a lot of Solo Que. :) The Killer needs the caveat that I tend to specialize in playing Myers. I'm sure if I branched out into the other Killers whom I am less practiced with, that my Ranking would take a hit until I learned them to the same proficiency.

There's a difference in the game being fun and mechanics in the game being an absolutely horrible experience for players. You keep making these strawmen arguments to attack a position that I doubt you even agree with.

Except for end game collapse (which almost everyone understands the point of this), what purpose does camping serve to make the game a better experience for all players? And like I've said before, content creators have proven over and over again that it's not needed and in most cases a mistake for Killers. So why keep something in the game that no survivor player (4/5s of the player base) will ever say is enjoyable and I doubt any Killer can honestly say it's a fun experience.

A better solution can replace these tactics and make the game a better experience for everyone.

I'm not making strawman arguments. Please don't put me in a position of listing all the rhetorical fallacies and how they are used. I'm stating facts and sticking with facts. Let me itemize a few things for you so there is no lack of clarity.

    1. The DEV have said, many times in fact, that Camping and Tunneling both are legitimate, valid tactics.
    2. Camping and Tunneling both are niche tactics, i.e. sometimes they are the correct choice, and sometimes they are not. The Killer (not you) decides if/when to employ them.
    3. A mechanic is a coded function of the game, like an animation, a Perk, and so on. Choices are not mechanics.
    4. The Killer's job is NOT to make the game a fun experience for all Players, nor is it the job of the Survivors to make the experience of others an enjoyable. The Killer's job is to prevent Survivors from escaping and kill them. The Survivors job is to get out.
    5. Nobody can make the game fun FOR YOU. That is your responsibility alone. Until you accept that basic truth, you are going to be on the horns of a dilemma.
    6. Fun is what YOU make of it. If you aren't having fun here, you know where the door can be found.
    7. If you keep playing here, constantly complaining about other Players or the game itself, you are a hypocrite.

I could go on itemizing but those are the most important. In case you don't do well with lists, let me put it another way. If you and a friend are playing Tennis, Pool, or whatever, it is your job to play to win. It is not your job to make sure your opponent has fun. The fun is in the game itself, i.e. the challenge. You either enjoy a particular game or you don't. When you were a kid and one of your parents or siblings taught you Chess (or Checkers) you didn't want them to LET you win. You wanted to earn it. If they dumbed it down and you noticed, or told you they let you win, it stole something from you. It was disrespect. Those are PvP games, and so is DbD.

So let me emphasize again, that you need to focus on YOU and what YOU can do to get better and mitigate those things that are impinging on your fun. YOU need to step up or step out. Blaming your personal failures on other people is bad sportsmanship.

IIt has been in the game from a long time but it is obviously encreasing

what i remember finding an camper once per month now its once per day

And that is the real problem the devs are so lazy in finding an solution that we need do abide, this should not happen, we should not accept something that ruins the match

tunneling is ok, i dont understand all the hate to be honest, like we already have DH and SB to flee in case of tunneling, just camping that i think that is really stupid

It isnt about the game being ruined, its more about that match being ruined

Let's just say your experiences and mine are not in alignment. There was a time you went a MONTH between seeing campers? Really? Come on... really? You know that camping and tunneling was the mainstay of the game when it started right? It was so hard to run a Survivor down with all the infinite loops that once you got someone down you kept your foot on their throat. Entire Perks were created specifically to encourage camping (Insidious, Monstrous Shrine, etc.). Camping wasn't just common it was the entire Meta. What timeframe are you talking about when you went a MONTH between campers? It is statements like these that make me doubt your veracity.

Camping and Tunneling have been around since the start. They declined as the Meta changed and hit a more or less middle ground and have stayed about the same for the last two years. There are minor up and down ticks depending on Perks. Undying + Ruin sent them downward for awhile as the Killers had more leeway to rampage around. Mostly, however, the tactics are pretty stable and consistent in their use. They are common in the Potato Ranks (and always will be) and thin out as you advance.
