Yes, thats what I mean sorry if I was unclear but yeah, should I save things like party streamers, vigos's jar of salty lips and survivor pudding, or Event items?

    I don’t think it’s necessary.

for events you will get event-specific offerings that can only be used during the event.

items are there to use when you want them to use. There is no point in saving them.

i actually like to have at least one of every kind in my Inventar. But that’s just the collector in me. There is no reason for it..

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

    Depends on the character.

For fair characters yes (but cosmetics are overpriced)

But for all those killers that are simply not viable at high level play? No its a rip off. Why buy something thats just a handicap at rank 1?

Because rank based matchmaking will not be used once SBM is permanently on. Then you will be matched according to your killer specific skill and don’t have to worry about the rank of your opponents.

  • yes. When they included set cosmetics I am pretty sure in the in-game news there was talk about 2- to 3-piece sets but all we ever got were 3 piece sets.

the weapons and some of the survivor heads should be separate cosmetic pieces of clippings etc are not an issue (I could see how maybe weapons of the Krampus or Minotaur still need to be only available in the set)

  • i guess Coldwind should be next! I am curious as to how they will handle the corn..

    @Awkward_Fiend said:

I've been told there's a new Jeff outfit in the next rift, so that's what I'm most hyped up about

i would expect a recolor of an existing cosmetic to be honest..

but there is speculation of Bill being featured, I am very excited about that cosmetic!

  • Does the perk also detect them when the surv is awake?

So they shouldn't have said anything about the colorblind mode and almo was in the right for pissing people off? Then when they get called out on it "oh here it is!"

I mean.. Almo is just an individual person that got bugged and reacted to that while he probably wasn’t allowed to talk about the upcoming feature.

if people listened to what they have stated before, it would have been clear that a colorblind mode was in planning for a longer time but they couldn’t commit to a date. They didn’t just pull colorblind mode out of a hat. (They are way too slow to have that done in such a short time...)

To be fair, even if they communicate with us that toxic part of the community ignores these statements and still complaints about no communications.

    it’s a lose/lose scenario for BHVR.

    That's a horrible mindset.

Why should BHVR punish the reasonable part of the community just because some idiots love to keep crying?

That's just causing a huge amount of problems for them (e.g Halloween Event,Twins Release,Colorblind Mode fiasco etc.)

    We need more communication.

Agreed. Didn’t say we don’t need more communication.

but we also need to reasonably communicate with BHVR.

    communication goes both ways.

Yeah, because they don't react immediately, although I'm willing to bet they already have nerfs prepared or at least being in development for a while since it takes ~6 months for them to develop new changes to most stuff from scratch.

I thought they do react always immediately when survivors cry? Why would they make a difference here? And with MoM?

  • @shitman said:

I was very disappointed in BHVR when they just ignored players ' messages about the new UI, because the players have offered so many great variations of the UI, and they left everything as it is bad and don't listen to anyone

They made adjustments for colorblind issues and repositioned the survivors.

they also said they will make further adjustments based on feedback but that some changes were needed for new features coming in the future.

this is actually one example were they did communicate with us but it just gets ignored.

And it took 2 years for them to acknowledge he was the weakest killer who was nerfed severely after 1 week from release.

Never said anything against that. But now he is for a very long time the strongest killer and they didn’t nerf him immediately..

    Remember freddy?

They surely don't blindly change things and then take 2 years to reconsider their choices.

No I don’t remember Freddy. I wasn’t here when he got released. Didn’t even know about the game.

    but remember Freddy right now?

most played killer with highest killrate according to official statistics I think. Very often complained about because of way to easy to use, having unfair Lunge etc.

but.. no nerf yet, just confirmation they will do minor changes. And since when is he in his powerful state right now?

  • @Profezia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2041725#Comment_2041725

MoM was literally the only time devs were so quick to address killers' complaints.

Should I list all things that were changed almost instantly after survivor's complaints? There's much more than you could imagine.

Besides, almost every survivor nerfs were "we're removing highly exploitable thing" or "getting rid of training wheels" kind of nerfs - infinites, 150% perks (multiple times), we'll make it, flashlights, toolboxes, absurd amount of pallets and so on. Almost none killer things were like that and most nerfs aimed at killers were plain number reductions/increases (mori nerfs 0->1->2 hooks needed, brutal strength, nurse changes in 2016, pwyf changes, etc etc) or slapping an unnecessary mechanic that was aimed at handicapping the killer (hillbilly, nurse, etc).

    These things are different.

Yeah sure. And no bias at all.

have you ever considered that those quick changes were not only because of the complaints but because they actually wanted to change those things according to statistics and intended uses? And with MoM we do know that it is not exclusive for killer stuff. Sorry but if you only want to see them being survivor biased you will always find those reasons.

but here we are with tunneling, camping and NOED still here, even though those noisy crying survivors were complaining about it since day 1. They don’t blindly change stuff in survivors favor when they don’t see the need for it.

  • To be fair, even if they communicate with us that toxic part of the community ignores these statements and still complaints about no communications.

    it’s a lose/lose scenario for BHVR.

    also Twitter guy/gal is awesome.

    >Undying was never meant to be used like it had been, with its nerf it also got reworked so it can be used with other Hex-perks instead of just Ruin.

It was never meant to be used to make hex last longer? What was it meant to be used then?

    >DS on the other hand was intended to be an anti-momentum perk but got nerfed because of the killer players crying (something the exact same players would complain about when they did something like that for crying survs) - I am not saying it didn’t need a nerf btw but in this case they were kinda forced to change it.

So when survivors can't deal with a perk that can be literally m1`ed so they cried for nerf and got it in 4 months, it's okay, the problem is the perk, it was just never intended to be used like that, however when killers are forced to deal with basically uncounterable 60 second invincibility and all kinds of bullshit levels of aggression that allowed it's just them crying, while the perk was totally fine.

    No bias at all btw.

It was meant to make Hex last longer but all it did was making Ruin last longer and nothing more.

also, MoM. Don’t just pick the nerfs that fit your narrative and ignore the rest. Look at all nerfs/buffs/changes. Killers got many buffs and survivors got many nerfs. You are the one ignoring that. But no bias at all amirite?

You don't have to tunnel to get DS'ed. YOu can even hook someone else in that minute and still get a ds to the face from the first guy, thats just unfair.

Yes, but it was not intended to be a sole anti-Tunnel perk but an anti-momentum perk. It will get nerfed to be an anti-tunnel perk. And I already said that I don’t think I didn’t need a nerf...

it’s not fair to compare DS nerf and Undying nerf. Those are just 2 different things. Maybe try to compare the Undying nerf to the MoM nerf instead.

I try to keep it positive, but didn't the Twins also get a delay?

Yet, they still came with the worst game breaking bugs.

Can’t remember a delay, just the game-breaking bugs.

but yeah, that release was a disaster and i really hope they learned from that.

  • @DawnMad said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2041582#Comment_2041582

Looking at their past record, anyone would assume it's BHVR's fault. They need to have a better reputation first before people will stop blaming them for things like this, they have made delays like this in many occasions without any changes or fixes so this is likely another one on the list.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/236538/im-not-mad-about-the-prolonged-wait-for-the-new-chapter

If they were fixing the Trickster they would have likely already told so as a damage control, so many people are pissed about it as usual. This is likely just another delay.

I commented somebody’s post that literally said they blame BHVR for something that Sony did wrong.

also this is not a delay. I would agree it would be bad if they had confirmed the 23rd and then proceeded to delay it and not communicating it through official channels. But that’s not the case...

  • From your description True sounds like your average killer player that thinks they are better at the game than they actually are..

i would advise looking at smaller Streamers, nothing stops you to just watch 5 mins and after that try another stream or just watch another 5 min. I tend to never watch those well-known streamers..

  • So you would be mad at BHVR if it turns out that it’s only Sony‘s fault and BHVRs only ‚mistake‘ was that they want to release the Chapter at the same time for all platforms?

They nerfed undying in a span of 4 months from release to the update. It tooke them 2 years for DS to make the change it had to be in the first place.

How long do we have to wait for a DH and BT change now? See ya in 3 years. LAZY.

Undying was never meant to be used like it had been, with its nerf it also got reworked so it can be used with other Hex-perks instead of just Ruin.

DS on the other hand was intended to be an anti-momentum perk but got nerfed because of the killer players crying (something the exact same players would complain about when they did something like that for crying survs) - I am not saying it didn’t need a nerf btw but in this case they were kinda forced to change it.

BT really doesn’t need a rework and they already said they want to take a look at DH, but probably more because of dedicated servers..

Really because there are companies that do that ex cyber punk what I think is unprofessional is waiting to the day before released and say ohh yeah this is being delayed we never confirmed a date so yes

So my 3 week break I had had been spent waiting on something just to get told oh yea it's been delayed.

Really? Because it’s not actually delayed when there was never a date to begin with... you just expected it and frankly, after the last mid-chapter you should at least have considered the fact that it might take longer (like they have always said)

  • I kind of think those monsters like Werewolf, Vampire or Zombies would fit in a separate asymmetrical horror game better than DbD.

Infecting the survivors and thus turning them to the other team is something completely against DbDs concept of 1v4 and those 3 monsters are just exactly known for that...

  • Pretty sure the teabagging was intended when they created Ghostface.

it is kinda fitting for GF to mess around and not be too serious (even though this one isn’t based on the movie versions)

    “Increased QA”

Sorry, but I highly doubt that’s the case. The game has been out for 5 years, I’m sure they have a solid QA department, but sadly they can’t fix the actual issues with the game.

It very much is a fitting comparison considering that fact that BHVR themselves have stated in the past that they’ve moved from a 2 week PTB>Live schedule to a 3 week one. They showcased the Killer and Survivor last week, clearly building hype for the Live release the following week.

The only reason they don’t communicate live releases with us is because they want to avoid backlash by saying “but we didn’t say when it would release, we just said it was coming soon, you can’t hold that against us because we didn’t announce anything” which is exactly the problem. By not communicating with us, all we can do is speculate based on previous release patterns and the small bits of information they do give us (announced release patterns and showcases).

They literally just want to avoid as much backlash as possible. I don’t totally blame them because of how utterly toxic the community is, but it’s completely unprofessional and makes me lose respect for them as a company.

Sorry but it would be way more unprofessional to confirm release dates and then not holding them.

they said they are aiming for the 3 weeks, yes, but they also always that it could take longer.

and more time planned for QA is still a reasonable assumption after Twins chapter. Even though you personally find it unlikely.

(also currently we don’t have a confirmed release date, tomorrow is still possible..)

  • Yeah sorry.. but the only real issues from OP are Blights POV getting like this to live and the Twins chapter..

and after the Twins chapter releases took longer time so it’s almost safe to assume they changed their plans to have further QA processes..

  • @shalo said:

Saying, "We never officially confirmed a release date" is like your older sibling saying "I never promised you the cookie TODAY", it's beyond childish and reflects poorly on BHVR.

That’s not a fitting comparison though..

they have always said it isn’t a fixed pattern.

adter the Twins chapter, they probably increased QA and bug fixing time, as heavily requested by the community.

we have precedent of longer time between PTB and release, just the last mid-chapter.

at least the forum mods have reconfirmed multiple times that there was and is no set release date.

  • They are just there to use. There is nothing you can save them up for.

some people use specific offering only on special occasions though. Like party streamers only during events or when playing in SWF..

  • No collision would be overturned and would just promote camping..

i agree that they should do something about the collision though because sometimes it hits the hooked one when you are clearly hitting the unhooker

  • „The devs should communicate with us“

Well they clearly stated multiple times that the „pattern“ of two weeks release after PTB is not set in stone... why are you demanding more communication when you are simultaneously ignore what they have told us?

  • @Northener1907 said:

Zarina is only one from West Asia. We need more west asian characters. Different colors and races are always fine.

    We don’t need

but it would definitely be cool, I agree.

there is still ethnicities/nationalities that don’t have any kind of representation though. And the devs can create whatever characters they want to. I am certain there will be more chars from Middle East/West Asia in the future, they are not explicitly excluded after all.

  • @Northener1907 said:

We need also Muslim survivors too. There is only one ( I am not sure about her ). Why always asian or american characters coming? Why not Arabian, Turk or Persian?

They won’t add Muslim survivors or any other survivors with confirmed religious belief though..

Arabian, Turk or Persian are all possible, we have Zarina who lives in America but here parents are from Lebanon.

  • Oh no you better delete this, otherwise people could assume killers are not as underpowered as they are made out to be by that vocal part of the community...

well here is a band-aid for this: the survs made mistakes and they are potatoes. Survs OP.

    there, fixed it.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

I'm sure that will happen somewhere down the line. The devs have been very diverse - without directly pointing out I'd even say there is disability recognition with Claudette being on the spectrum.

Bearing in mind diversity isn't just about nationality, lgbtqi+ and cognitive disabilities. There's so much more that can be considered diverse:

Social status, physical disabilities, culture, ethodiversity, neurodiversity, personality, nature vs nurture, ethnicity, age, citizenship, ideological, cultism, gender expressionism, identity, education, income..

There's a lot to consider. Heck, I don't think we've had a male redhead yet! But the devs have done well thus far for inclusiveness. No doubt more varieties of people will come about down the line.

Just an info to the disabilities, we actually have some more (yeah not everything I list is technically a disability, but still worth nothing with diversity in mind):

Claudette and Dwight wear glasses (granted, that’s not really something people think about when talking about disabilities, but it’s still there), Yui is Cross-eyed, Claudette may have some form of autism as you said (and has some kind of skin disease/condition i think), Ash is an amputee, Deathslinger has something going on with his leg and needs some self-engineered device to walk (very cool considering his backstory), and Bill smokes and has really bad lungs (well not a disability either, but still diverse enough to get a mention), Hillbilly was born heavily disfigured. There is probably more.

the only things excluded purposefully from this game are things that would need model/animation reworks or anything (modern) religious, and that with good reason.

  • Yeah I remember requesting an Alien version of that FNAF lobby!

Aesthetically it looks really cool! I hope it turns out to be like the Silent Hill situation where everyone said it’s unlikely due to Konami...

  • I thought (and hoped) this was a thread about Mr. Puddles..

    am sad now.

but lags are not really that big of a problem. Lagswitchers or killers with high ping were a huge problem before introduction of dedicated servers and server sided hit detection. But those really improved the game health heavily!

  • Tunneling. But I mean the hard tunneling one survivor so they get a miserable match even if it means a 3 man escape for the killer.

Camping and even more Facecamping are annoying but it’s also really rare to see camping without good reason, plus if the surv does get unhooked but then the killer doesn’t even Tunnel it’s not that bad..

  • Chapters are planned and worked on too far before release so the effect of the vote would be too far in the future.

plus people would probably just vote for the attractive young and successful female. Which is at the moment overdone for DbD survivors. I want more normal everyday people like the original 4, but those wouldn’t get the highest votes I fear

  • This game is definitely the most unfun for completely new players on both sides and not the other way around.

  • There have been some adjustments for some daily’s (minimum of 30K reward, more hooks to sabo, GF marking got simplified)

i think they said they recognize an imbalance but they never confirmed a change for this, I could be wrong about that one though..

It makes sense for those characters.

Resident Evil characters can fight stupidly well even without a gun, and fight much stronger enhanced enemies than what we've seen an "entity enhanced teenager" ever do. If it takes them a moment the break a wooden pallet, and they are stunned by a piece of glass- they are not as tough as the things said characters have fought hand to hand.

I just can't personally see it ever fitting and I generally just don't want them in the game. I am not saying I don't want a resident evil chapter or that it doesn't have perfectly fitting characters, I just don't think Leon is one of them.

I just saw a YouTube let’s play of Resident Evil 2 Remake and from what I have seen there I would have said he still fits perfectly fine imo. At least he is a normal human being there, and as far as I read the lore of DbD, that makes someone fitting to be a surv.

that whole mindset of being able to fight Legion (especially Suzie) only works in the real world and not the Entity’s realm after all.

but we don’t have to share the same viewpoint on this of course..if the Creators of DbD and RE then it will fit. If not then not.

Why not, Warner Bros. Pictures owns the rights to him don't they?

They are also the ones with the rights to Freddy and we got him.

The big reason we did not expect it before was because of the Friday the 13th game but that's been dropped and is no longer really selling anymore, so I would say there is a fair chance now that somepoint in the future we might get him.

I do not however, really want Leon Kennedy as a survivor. It would be weird having a survivor get rekt by teenagers with knifes, acting fearful constantly, screaming a lot, etc.....it's just all so out of character. I don't think he would fit well at all.

i will never understand this mindset of X wouldn’t fit as survivor because of the teenagers/acting fearful:

is it „in character“ for Tapp, Ash or Cheryl? (Genuinely don’t know those franchises enough)

also for the teenagers: they are still enhanced by the Entity and the survivors are still limited by the Entity. As far as I know Resident Evil chars, they always have weapons with them, which they wouldn’t have access to in the Entity’s realm..

  • Look in the bug report section if already reported. Otherwise create a new report with more detailed info (like player perks etc) and possibly with a video(-link):

    lol imagine

*Possesses baby Dwight: drops shack palette, and fails 3 skill checks on a 80% gen*

After the rounds i played today... there is no need for a killer power that does that. Baby Dwight can do all that alone.

  • Some kind of power involving insects or spiders. Don’t really know what that could be though.

(also Candyman with the bees would be a great candidate for this)

  • I really hope gen slowdown will be addressed with the new general game mechanic that started as the early-game-collapse idea.

But a killer with an ability that even lets SWFs turn (temporarily) against eachother would be very cool! Kind of like reverse bear traps but passing from surv to surv. Balancing this so it can’t get abused by antimates would be hell though.

  • Pretty sure that’s not how it works. But if you compare a completely equal match but in one you get caught in the end and hooked/sacrificed and in the other you escape then it’s very likely that the escape gives at least a better scoring than death. But that doesn’t mean death is always resulting in a negative score.

  • Did anyone even read the OP? They are talking about the „Block player“ feature already present in the game and they misunderstood the use of that feature... (because it’s not really explained anywhere in-game..)

  • PTB is almost always 1 week available. Then they aim for 2 weeks after PTB closes for release. But they do not want to commit to such a strict schedule in case anything happens that prevents it.

1 … 202 203 204 205 206 … 270
