  • This is normal as the Beta takes your current state from a few days before and not the most recent state. Once you leave the beta/PTB and join the normal game again your game will be exactly how it was before joining the Beta.

everything you purchase or earn during the Beta will also stay there btw.

I feel like a broken record at this point, but I'm going to explain this again: no bans will be filed without proof, targeted harassment has always been a rule in the game and it's not going to change for the presence of a charm.

Camping and tunneling are not reportable or bannable, so as long as you play within the game rules, you don't have to fear anything and if you have doubts in regards of the rules, please refer to this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

I‘ll have you know I feel somewhat of a broken record myself :)

seriously though, thanks for moderating these threads in a very level headed way, that must be really exhausting and unthankful work

  • i doubt it was specifically aimed at you personally more so aimed at the community as it is being brought up way too often.

(but I can’t speak for Seraphor obviously, just how I would interpret it and what my response was aimed at)

Yes but what if this new minority inclusion negatively affects me in some way? What if an unusual and unlikely hypothetical scenario my imagination dreamed up actually turns out to be the unfounded nightmare I've imagined? What if I get validation for my discomfort around LGBTQ+ issues?

Dang. Didn’t think about it like that.

well i guess explicit exclusion is the way to go!

I doubt any of this will be an issue, but I do understand where people are coming from.

If a % of charm wearing survivors reflexively report killers for targeted harassment on principle, how is anyone able to accurately determine the killer’s intent?

If they wanted to, they could also just all play Claudette, Adam, Tapp and Elodie and Play the racist card. I don’t get how the charm is problematic. There is enough pointless LGBTQ+ discussions currently here in the forums.

you can for example determine it by the end game chat. People that target others because of stuff like that want those people to know it - otherwise there isn’t even a reason to targeting in the first place. Or if it can be proven over MULTIPLE games with video evidence that the killer only ever targets people with the charm. Or people of color. Or people with specific references in their usernames.

  • @El_Gingero said:

The concern I’ve seen is more about people being reflexively reported by multiple people who just so happen to be wearing the charm. If x% of people wearing the charm report anyone who kills, camps, tunnels them (etc,) there’s a genuine risk of innocent killers (lol) being banned regardless of their actual intentions.

I doubt it will be an issue, but the concern makes sense.

There is no risk for that. The current ban system doesn’t ban without concrete evidence

  • you don’t get banned just because you Tunnel one survivor that wears that charm.

you get banned if you singled out and targeted only survivors that are wearing that charm. That has always been the case if you did this with other „reasons“ like targeting only characters that are people of color.

you only get banned for this if there is evidence that you are actually targeting with that reason.

the new ban system isn’t out yet and we don’t know how it will actually work. It doesn’t relate directly to LGBTQ+ topics and should be discussed separately.

  • To the topic: literally nothing has changed. Grieving and harassment has always been a reportable and bannable offense. Just like you could get banned if you singled out and targeted only characters that are people of color. That is no argument for exclusion of people of color however.

you won’t get banned without any evidence.

if you are worried about the upcoming new ban system, that has nothing to do with the pride charm or LGBTQ+ inclusion. That’s a whole different topic.

  • @eloise said:

That appen to me, the surviver said I tunnel him because he as this charm I answer "I'm gay so nop" and he reporte me ps4 and I was ban 7 day just because I'm gay, so this charm it's not very good for me for that

Yeah but that was Sony. That doesn’t have anything to do with the charm and Behaviour. Complain to Sony about that.

  • You are not banned because of that.

  • Because sexuality should be left out of Videogames and political statements as well.

don’t mind heterosexuality though. That one is completely accepted. And despite being LGBTQ+ isn’t even political those people didn’t have a problem with actual political lore introduced like Zarinas and Yuis. But well. Uhm. It’s a horror game and thus… wait..

yeah there is no argument against it.. damn..

what if i play with my friend who hasnt played in a while and he plays like a newer player and i play like better ya know how would that work

i don’t know and I think the devs haven’t explained that yet.

either the highest score of the group will be taken or some kind of average or something.

  • Also: beware the community members that ‚don’t care‘ and still feel the need to post that they don’t care…

Thanks! Sucks I just turned off my console like an hour ago so hopefully I'm able to redeem it tomorrow still?

I would expect that it would be redeemable throughout pride month? But that’s just a guess

  • It’s because there are so many people on these platforms that stated they don’t care or explicitly don’t want inclusion. It’s their fault. ;)

  • Claudette.

love her design and personality in lore. Also I ran self-care. But I am pretty sure I still unhooked people in time and didn’t self-care in a corner.

But if the killer doesn't admit its because of the charm, does that mean they'll get away with it?

Tunneling isn't bannable, so if theres no evidence to say they did it because of the charm, that surely means they will not get banned.

I think the OP has a point, it won't be as easy as "they'll get banned" which is upsetting :(

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, this thread is huge.

Well.. what about the people that tunnel character that have a different skin color (e.g. only tunneling Claudette, Tapp, Adam and Elodie)

they don’t get directly banned because especially after one match you cannot determine if the killer did this because they are racist or because it actually just was the right thing to do in that match.

if someone does these things because they are racist/homophobic/whatever chances are high that they want their ‚opponents‘ to know this. Otherwise there is not really a reason to do this on the first place.

will i have to start with brand new players or will i be matched with people who were higher rank before the change

Matchmaking will be based on a hidden rank. The data for this is already being connected so you should be matched with/against people around your own skill level!

for survivors there will only be one shared hidden rank, as they are just skins. You can use any perks/items/strategy’s exactly the same on any survivor.

for killers it’s different, you can be a great Wraith player but struggle with Nurse for example.

  • @Archerwastaken said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2221854#Comment_2221854

when will that come to live. also does that mean that i wont be rank 3 anymore? didnt they think that removing the ranks would take away the incentive to play. it sounds like your joking but idk what to think anymore 😣

    i am not joking.

they haven’t stated when SBM will come to live servers.

Yeah that will mean you won’t be rank 3 anymore. But it will also be completely irrelevant which rank you are. Matchmaking will be based on a new hidden rank (that is specific for the different killers you have). And the rank we know now will only be used for the monthly BP rewards. So there you have your incentive to increase your rank and play well.

  • thats what they have explained. This should start once MMR/SBM comes finally to live.

ranks will then not be used for matchmaking anymore and i think you can’t depip (not sure on that one?)

Limited codes, no rewards for logins, an actual EMPTY battle-pass for non-payers. Everyone I asked told me that they have never seen a game with a battlepass which is mostly empty. Even the free section always contains something in every cell in every game that has one. But BHVR is always an exception.

Being an exception is not always a bad thing :)

but in these cases.. yeah.. would be nice to at least fill the free spaces with a few BPs or Shards or something..

What about people that could watch the stream but didn´t introduced the code, because they hopped into the PTB?

I mean, it´s not like they said that the codes expire after 24 hours or something.

Yeah I don’t understand it either.

and then I even had to type in that awful code into my Switch 4 times because I guess the codes weren’t activated for the console version at first or something?

  • Because they were aimed at people that watched the live stream?

i don’t know.. I don’t like these codes at all. Just give me some rewards for login. I do like the rewards after all, but making it so limited via codes shouldn’t be necessary

  • Those 2 new ones that already expired were part of the anniversary stream.

i am following someone on Twitter that pretty much Posts all codes even those that may be only regionally announced. Can’t really tell you their name though as that’s kinda against the forum rules I think. Often someone opens a new thread here on the forums as well.

  • Uhm

No. That’s just a new perk. They said they new mechanic would affect every match just like the End Game Collapse. Also their Concept evolved and it is not limited to the early game anymore. Other than that we don’t have any more information.

but they talked about the roadmap for this year and this new mechanism is probably part of the Live Design That is part of the roadmap.

Ok. Finally got through reading all of the comments on this thread...

Now here's my two cents on this topic (no-one asked for my opinion, but here we all are anyway)

I don't shout about my Bisexuality from the rooftops; in fact, I don't think anyone really knows about it...

Naturally, in this society I expect to be treated the same as everyone else, but am I just being treated the same because I haven't fully came out as Bisexual yet, or is it possibly true that no-one gives a ######### anymore?

Regardless of my own personal situation, everybody deserves to be treated with respect and shouldn't fear being treated differently because of who they are.

Whether that be because of thier sexuality, gender, colour, race, disability, religion etc...

To me, the pride charm speaks for everyone. Straight, Gay, Trans, Black, White, Asexual, Bisexual... Just everything and everyone.

When I say I want inclusion and acceptance, I mean it. I want everybody to have access to basic human rights, fair policing and political systems, healthcare and education.

Sure, we can't achieve all that today; but every little step we make into accepting people into our communities (even if it is just a small wearable charm in a video game), goes that little bit further into improving things for future generations...

And then, maybe one day; there might just be acceptance for all.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Stay safe out there folks and remember to smile even when you're feeling down :)

I’m not technically part of the LGBT+ community but I am an ally so I’ll definitely be wearing the charm to show support for my fellow survivors / killers. My older brother is gay and most of my friends are LGBT+ as I’ve always felt most comfortable and most like myself around them.

I have read some questionable responses in this thread but I’m choosing not to reply to them as I want this moment to be a positive one. Representation matters. 🌈 💕

    Love ya 🏳️‍🌈

actually I think this is one of the most positive threads I have been part in with this topic. There are definitely less completely negative posts

  • i would assume the gnome appears as long as there are the giggles.. but I haven’t seen (or searched) for the gnome there

but does it actually matter? Even if you get the gnome on the PTB it won’t get brought to your actual game..

  • I guess the easiest way is making a screenshot during an animation like opening gates or repairing.

This thread helped me get my opinion about this situation.

I don't want sound like homophobic but I don't like any idea of pride of being someone.

Personally I don't judge people for who they are. I judge people for what they do.

I don't respect gay people just for them being gay. For me it's just an another person. I respect gay if he talented artist or smart engineer. I would respect gay just for being nice person.

But I don't understand being proud of sexuality. It's not something you achieved. It's just your personality, there is nothing to be proud of.

I don't like an idea of being proud of something you born with. Like your race, your sexuality, your gender.

I understand why there is minorities doing their movements. They just want their voices heard. They being oppressed and they struggle for their rights. But this pride thing make negative impression on me.

I treat all people as equal. Minorities or majorities. But it's only their actions would make me hate or respect them.

I kinda get what you are saying.

but being proud is something different than just being proud for what you were born as. They are proud of accepting themselves this way, which is in now way the easiest thing even today. Being LGBTQ+ will for most people mean they are about to go through many struggles because of it, be it because of others not accepting them, discriminating them, but also self-acceptance and tolerance. And I think the part about accepting yourself for who you are is often not really acknowledged by people looking at it from the outside and nothing they can really empathize.

There was never any hostility intended, my opinion has been swayed already by a less aggressive person. I no longer stand by my statement that its completely political.

As for me, I can honestly say that I have no strong feelings about anyone claiming my existence is political, but things don't get under my skin so easily. (With the exception of excessive teabagging, anyway.)

Yeah I know that people who say it’s political don’t always mean to be hostile but it can still easily be perceived as such. Just wanted to clear that up.

just because it doesn’t get under your skin doesn’t mean it doesn’t bother others. And especially for LGBTQ+ people that always kinda have to explain that their mere existence isn’t a political statement.

i don’t really care for excessive teabagging for example but i do get how it may bother others and I don’t try to say teabagging isn’t a problem just because it isn’t for me personally.

  • @UncleStabby said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2221196#Comment_2221196

I see where you're coming from, but I have to disagree. Homosexuality has been not only represented in history, but often times accepted. We know that it was a common practice in the Roman army, for example, and Greek society.

Its possible to celebrate yourself and those around you without being unnecessarily hostile about it though.

You were the one bringing up the political statement which is kind of hostile. People that are LGBTQ+ don’t like it if their existence is called a political statement. It diminishes who and what they are. Inclusion and normalization shouldn’t be viewed as a political statement but just something normal.

  • @UncleStabby said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2221182#Comment_2221182

You don't think people should be proud of who they are? That's kind of a hateful stance.

You were the one stating gay pride is a political thing. But you are ignoring what straight pride actually is and how it is different to gay pride?

  • @Mineguy said:

What the flip is happening here, I didn't thought this will explode so hard

Sadly this is always the case when anything LGBTQ+ related is mentioned… it just shows that there are still many people that do have a problem with equal treatment.

  • Pretty sure Ghostface was considered a chapter. Just without survivor or map. The definition of chapter and paragraph is not really well defined lol

on topic: definitely Binding of Kin. I do think that the Twins have a nice concept but the execution and implementation was poorly done. Elodie is a cool char though, and her perks can be pretty fun

  • Survivor is less stressful.

if you lose as survivor it doesn’t feel as bad since your team probably still got stuff done.

for killer, it feels really bad to for example only get less than 5 hooks in a game, sometimes gens fly by even though you are always in chases and actually perform relatively good.

that and of course being able to play with friends.

  • @OopsAllHexes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2220047#Comment_2220047

Probably because almost every time a LGBT character is implemented, they're either a token character or are poorly written. Sometimes both.

Thats a pretty subjective way to see this.

you can of course call every inclusion ‚token‘ as there is not a real definition there. For example.. is Zarina the token Middle Eastern character in DbD just because she is the first and at the moment only one? I wouldn’t say so but you can of course twist it to help your narrative.

Actually this is why inclusion is important, so that people don’t think it’s just a token character. But just a character that happens to be LGBT+.

(for the bad writing, I would argue that wouldn’t be the first bad writing in DbD and is especially no reason for explicit exclusion)

  • Nope, nothing new sadly. I guess that means no cross Progression for XBox and PlayStation for the foreseeable future…

and Switch might also get released later than announced.. they said Q2 2021 and they wanted to aim more for April than June, but nothing has been said yet

  • Welcome back!

i am most exited to experiment with the mechanics of Nemesis power, especially the zombies. And playing as Jill, really liked her character when I watched a let’s play of RE 3 remake

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/252857/zombies-possible-for-other-killers-licenses

Hopefully not. It would make Nemesis less unique, even if they had different mechanics.

That’s why I made this topic, I am torn.

on the one hand, it would make Nemesis less unique on the other hand licenses like TWD are way more defined by having zombies than RE. So I was wondering if it’s possible to twist the AIs enough to warrant a separate power.

  • With the tease with that stars reference I was already pretty sure it would be RE.

if that wasn’t there as well.. probably Candyman, just because of the 5 resembling a hook :) (and I still think Candyman is very likely to come soon… the video game that the actor made voice overs for is still not revealed right?)

    I.. don’t understand a word from that?

  • No, the killers should stay unique.

but some kind of AI incorporation into old and new killer powers could be interesting (Doctor hallucinations chasing and swinging at you without damage, Charlotte and Victor actually moving, Legion somehow, new killer with a more potent AI minion than zombies, like a feral dog)

Please tell me I'm not going to be auto-banned in the future for killing someone with a pride charm I never even noticed. 😐️

  • @AngryKiller said:

That would be amazing but it would take work and BHVR hates anything more complex than 3m tentacle spike.

Yeah… you really think implementing AI for survivor and killer bots as well as zombies for Nemesis power doesn’t require work but creating slight variations of the survivor models/textures would be too much work because that would be too complex?

  • They are antagonists from The Walking Dead Comics and TV Series. They are the leaders of a group called the Whisperers that can control the zombies somewhat and live among them.

  • @Shroompy said:

This is something there gonna bring in, its not implemented yet

Wondering what they actually mean then?

it’s probably not just some bumps on the ground.. maybe different terrain as in sand, concrete, stone, mud? Could be very cool on swamp!

  • @TerminatorGuy said:

No way they'd chose Alpha/Beta over Negan who is like a hundred times more iconic to the series. They're like nobodies compared to him in terms of popularity. But yeah, I'd love to see the zombie A.I. be incorporated some more. Would be nice for a Dead Rising chapter too.

Well, Negan turns nice later on so he will obviously be a survivor ;)

and I was just bringing up Alpha or Beta as the Whisperers would make the most sense to have a power that directly use/control zombies.

  • @AngryKiller said:

They reused the models from the REmakes. They are so lazy they can't even do their own stuff lol.

does the infection do anything because I would like to know if I should be looking for a vaccine or doing gens

It was already stated in this thread?

if you are contaminated, tentacle hits and zombie hits can injure and even down you. You cough and vomit occasionally, so stealth is less viable. If you can live with these downsides, don’t use the vaccines!

Being contaminated takes away the killers ability to infect you and get progress for his tier up, but he could as well get this progress from your teammates.
