It's not like Killers are asking for their mains to be nerfed into dust, especially the already weak killers.
There are Killer mains who do call for nerfs. I've seen it with my own eyes.
-
@The_Krapper said:
As a 50/50 player it's really both sides doing this people cry too much and the game is balanced around the lower skilled players, which is why you see nerf Noed and camping and other noob threads on here, people want to pretend like every game is a try hard death squad but in reality most of the player base isn't that good and you can easily still compete as a lower tier killer because of that but I won't deny that against good survivors there are quite a few killers who can't really compete and are forced into a camping or tunneling situation just to stay in the game
This is why I said it's not a us vs them; it's a community thing because both sides are equally at fault for this trend.
-
Trickster for sure, dislike the point and click down playstyle of the Killer, seriously boring imo.

No variety=no enjoyment=people leaving=game dying
1week ago(the last time i played) after the 3rd nurse in a row I've just closed the game, didn't even play that game, just alt f4
I don't think the games dying; there's proof otherwise, however, I do understand this situation getting the same killer back to back is annoying but it's on the community to stop this trend by actually not crying every time a Killer is buffed to be somewhat decent.

So who's the 3?
Nurse, Blight, and Huntress. The most complained 3.

@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/314859/why-the-same-3-killers-are-played
Yeah, it's tricky.
I have no idea why Nurse and Blight have only really seen buffs.
I also have no idea why Pig, Clown, Legion and co. have been allowed to be this crap for so long.
Huntress is fine. She's about where she should be.
Agreed.

@Brimp said:
Couldn't have said it better myself. I thought wraith was completely fine but people would complain about his speed and all seeing. From what I could tell any wraith player with a brain wouldn't dare play without a windstorm addon before and still would use all seeing but people only complained about it then because wraith was played more often.
Yep.

BHVR's updates need to be more frequent.
Changing 5 perks, adding number adjustments to Killers and bugfixes every 6 weeks isn't good enough anymore. The game is far too large for that to be viable.
I don't disagree. I'm simply stating that the "operation health" which people are asking for, which is months without content, will never happen. Bug fixes sure possible. Behavior does more, we'll see doubtful, because it takes a hot minute to get updates out to Console.
-

12 bugs every 3 months isn't really an acceptable rate.
I mean, you could take time to understand, depending on the bug, it's not always a snap of your fingers fix; there's a lot that goes into this sorta thing. Before someone hands me this "but others games" most other games run on a different engine, weren't built by amateurs, no disrespect to Behavior, but even they admitted DBD wasn't expected to go anywhere, meaning the coding behind it is 100% all over the place.
Once you take this into account you'll realize they are getting better at fixing bugs and the Killswitch was added which 100% was a great addition to the game to stop the abuse of buggy perks/maps and Killers. While there's certainly more they can do understand what they've done so far is leagues better compared to how things were.
-
- Camping wouldn't be an issue if the game's didn't progress as fast you're seeing more camping because Killers believe the games over after 2 gens are done.
- It's not just Survivor perks being nerfed there's been Killer perks nerfed as well welcome to balancing a game.
- You only see 3 Killers because anytime Behavior has tried to buff a Killer like Freddy for example he's cried about and gutted back to nothing. Hence why Blight is still untouched.
- SBMM isn't perfect but it's been confirmed adjustments are happening by a Dev
- Lastly the Grind the Dev's have confirmed something for the Grind is in prototype they can't explain yet but it's on it's way at some point
What it seems like is you're currently bored so take a break from Dead by Daylight we've all been there sometimes it's healthy too
-
I mean, even as the person who posted the article that has been discussed but also backed up by past dbd official articles, I gotta say man, it's hard to think all 900 work on the game. Like others have said it's probably around 300 or so and the rest work in other sections, you also gotta consider this probably takes into account as a whole, not just the dead by daylight team.
-
2 bugs? Were you asleep for the Onyro chapter where they fixed like a dozen bugs, which normally that list is a lot smaller?
Also, it's been said several times Behavior isn't planning to divert away from releasing Content, but they are bug fixing in the meantime.
-
Old Fog and Old Hillbilly god rest his soul Behavior spit on him for the smallest reason.
-
I see an incoming ban wave since Behavior has openly admitted it's an advantage.

No. You won't get banned for Family Sharing It's on Steam for a reason.

Just FYI the 40 million and 2 million numbers are from a footnote in the Behaviour press release about the Sadako DLC. How accurate or old that blurb is I have no idea but that’s where it’s coming from.
About Dead by Daylight
Created by Behaviour Interactive, Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer action horror game of hide and seek, set in a dark fantasy and drawing from all corners of horror, where each match is a different experience. Dead by Daylight boasts more than 48 million players both globally and across all platforms. On any given day, up to 2 million players step into the Fog, whether on PC, console, or mobile. Since its release in 2016, the game has become a place where cult classic horror survives and thrives, having welcomed legends from TV, movies, and video games. 2 million over all platforms including mobile,also just because someone says there's 2 million active logins everyday does not mean its true,some people just log in but dont play also
And you're right to some extent but that's impressive non the less and would mean the game is far from dying if true waiting on Behavior to confirm or deny.
-
@Adaez said:
lmfao yeah 50 million players but how many of those 50 million still play the game?
That seems like a exagerated big number to make it seems like wow,so many players in this game.
50 Million players isn't the point. It's the 2 Million Logins per day. It's easy to get 50 million with free weekends.

Pretty easy solution to this:
The articles all explicitly state that this information came directly from Behavior.
As such, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for clarification to avoid possible misinformation.
@MandyTalk or a different mod - If you could clarify? Sorry for the tag, but it is completely related to information that is stated to come directly from BHVR.
I messaged her already waiting for confirmation as well. If it's false though I hope Behavior seeks to have the article removed because claiming information directly from a company is bad for their Image if untrue.
-
I played Freddy on the game yesterday against a solid team and had a run for my money, ended up 4king with the last survivor messing up their dead hard at the exit game lmao. The Pallets on that map are so insanely safe felt like I kicked more pallets versus hooking survivors lmfao.

"The landmark was reached recently as Dead by Daylight is now available on a wide selection of platforms, including the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), and even Google Stadia. Behavior Interactive also confirmed that Dead by Daylight has up to two million players logging in every day."
Type in "Dead by Daylight 50 Million Players"
You'll see 7 or 8 articles pop up.

I'm...reluctant, as some of these sites feel a bit unsafe. Take a sentence from the article and paste it into Google and you'll see what I mean.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2856194#Comment_2856194
I'm not sure. My guess is that the 'up to' phrasing is the key aspect here.
Yeah, I see what you're saying. I did this myself on google, something does feel off, but I'm not shocked if it's been ripped from the Gamepur writer, possibly some sites steal others articles all the time. I sent this post off to a Mod just incase for confirmation that it's true or false; we'll know soon. I don't want to be posting anything fake so I'm waiting on confirmation.

When I start to worry, is when I start seeing the same people in my lobbies. And it is happening more now then ever before.

There's something...a bit sus about that article, looking a bit deeper.
None of the bigger gaming sites are reporting on it, and the handful that are, are all obscure clickbait/tagfarm sites and most have the exact same article copy+pasted verbatim, or very slight variations on it.
What is interesting is that some sites parse this as 'up to 2 million', which implies that this was the absolute peak not an every day occurrence.
Without seeing the alleged email, there's no way to tell what's going on here.
I thought it was Sus at first, but it seems legit, it could be fake, who knows, but for him to have an exact employee number information on the dates of the board game kinda made me believe he knows somewhat what's going on. Hopefully Behavior officially confirms if the Article was written with good intentions or fake news.

I...hate to tell you this, but that number isn't really indicative of the health of the game.
All that '50 million' means is that, at some point in time, 50 million (and that number sounds...prima facie absurd, but let's assume it's correct) people gave the game a try.
It doesn't speak to how many stuck around.
The point isn't 50 million, we knew they'd hit that, but 2 million active logins a day that completely shuts down all the game is dying posts. If true of course.
-
@Jplanas98 said:
Gonna play devil's advocate here. Where's the proof that 2 million people are logging in daily? All the article says is that BHVR 2 million daily logins, but there's no image, stat tracker or a link of any kind in the article to actually prove that number is real. Also, does is this the number with or without the free weekends they've done. Is it possible that many people login daily? Absolutely. But we can't just take BHVR's word at face value.
I can agree somewhat as to what you're saying, but if 2 million logins per day is true, there's no way to manipulate that unless you did free logins for an entire month. Regardless that's Impressive.
-
@steezo_de said:
They've had so many free weekends, 50 million players total doesn't surprise me-- especially with all the other platforms.

Everything takes years to rework with this company just look at how many years it took for them to do something about old decisive strike, they haven't changed dead hard yet because they're making a whole new perk for it instead of at least that's what they've stated is it will be completely different from the ground up
Don't disagree, but the standard has been set now by the dev's themselves I'm simply asking the question why is it okay to do for a map but not for a perk which has been admitted will take some time. At the end of the day I don't even care about COH anymore, I just care why a Perk their lead game designer admitted won't be fixed for ages is not killswitched, but a map that had 0 issues is.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
You bring up a very good point about haddonfield being kill switched until it's reworked but everything else doesn't get kill switched because it's not game breaking. The map is likely still functional in it's old form because afaik the other maps did not get disabled before getting reworked. Really don't understand the opposition to this post shown in the replies.
Thank you for understanding the point, and yeah, I don't understand why everyone got so worked up. Behavior has set the standard not me. I'm just asking the question why a map and not anything else.
-
@The_Krapper said:
The truth is it wouldn't matter you can sit here and pretend like there won't be any complaints but I'll guarantee in the first week a new perk of problem will pop up, people cry about everything they can and this will never change.
I'm not saying there wouldn't be people crying about other perks; however, the difference is other perks won't take months to a year to rework, which Dead Hard has openly been stated will.
-
@HexDaddyissues said:
i love that you're essentially telling the devs what to do, out of our own personal preference. even if they did KS anything, all the people complaining that they SHOULD killswitch would be replaced with the complainers for killswitching. Cest la vie; get over it
I'm going to assume you're new here, but yes, I'm asking the dev's to killswitch something that's openly been explained will take months to even longer to fix. They killswitched a map setting a complete new standard for how killswitching works, but you'd know that if you spent time reading the post, which clearly you didn't same with a few others here.

@pseudechis said:
They should have never anounced the kill switch because now its I don't like X kill switch it!
I agree, or they could have kept it bugs only and not killswitched Haddionfield setting a new standard, it's that simple. You can't disable a map to rework it and not expect people to not question other things that are in fact a problem sure, they might not need to Killswitch COH no problem but what about Dead Hard, which has been admitted will take months to rework is that not an issue in your eyes? Does that not bring up the question whether it should be killswitched since it's already been lined up for a rework in the next months to year?
-
@Starrseed said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2853665#Comment_2853665
That's it it will take a good amount of time to rework them and people wont give them up for that long. They all know sooner or later they are gonna get reworked and they want to use these Problematik perks as long as they can. Ask the same question about noed and the people that say killswitch is not for this situation are going to say noed should be killswitched till rework
People just don't wanna give up their obviously problematic perks I know that. However we'll see what happens. I think a Killswitch is needed for the game health and it would help a ton.
-
@Phasmamain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2853656#Comment_2853656
There’s a lot of rumours it’s because of a map rework nothing to do with balance. The kill switch is only used for fundamentally game breaking things not just overpowered perks
I'm aware of the Rumors but if they're doing it to rework a map, whats the difference in using the same system to rework perks its clear why Haddionfield is gone, its one of the worst maps in the game and that's the only reason it was Killswitched for an update, same thing should be applied to COH and Dead Hard; both have been openly deemed problems and even Patrick said it's going to take a long period of time to fix Dead Hard; by that logic it's worthy enough for a complete Killswitch.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Nothing about them is fundamentally broken though so no kill switch is needed
Nothing about Haddionfield was fundamentally broken and it's been killswitched with no reasoning given leading a lot of people to put the pieces together as to why it's no shocker why. If they're gonna use the System for a map that people deemed an issue but not for perks then I can't see why HF hasn't been unkillswitched.
-
I agree. Making a Video for the sake of being a Clout Goblin knowing it'll pull views and saying phrases like "Guys don't do this we're just bringing attention to a problem" when there's an entire bug report section on the Forums and didn't that same person say he had someone from behavior reach out to him over an error they were getting why didn't you just pass it forward to that person instead of making a video about it.
Same for the yamaoka infinite videos ngl Content Creators should start being held more accountable you aren't above the playerbase, nor should you be making exploit videos knowing this brings unwanted attention causing everyone and their mother to abuse the Exploits. They need to realize they're part of the problem to be totally honest.
I hope we see some type of Punishment moving forward in the future for this kinda behavior.

We did not. In fact, we've said the exact opposite: We do not consider it a fix to the grind in the slightest, it's an improvement to grade rewards, nothing else.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2850459#Comment_2850459
I can also confirm that we don't see it as something that encourages people to play more. A certain amount of grinding, sure, it can give you a goal to work towards and keep you interested. But if it becomes too much, then the goal feels unattainable and you lose interest in trying to achieve it.
To the original topic: It's too early to share details now, but we have a massive grind reduction in the works. I'm looking forward to the day we're finally able to share it with everyone.
That's good to hear you guys have something in mind hoping we get more news soon :)

I feel like situation is actually indicative of what decades of crunch and mandatory overtime in the video game industry have done to our expectations as consumers.
While I feel like changes could definitely be made faster than they currently are, BHVR has a business model that we should strive towards instead of criticising them at every possible corner for, you know, caring about employees and being rated one of the best places to work in Montreal despite being within one of the worst industries to work in.
And no matter how much I hate the decisions they make sometimes, I'm forced to respect them as a company because of this.
Yeah it seems people seem to forget they aren't handcuffed to their desks and have a life outside of coding and designing the game it's a shame we've gotten to this point I agree.
