This game desperately needs a health dedicated chapter

Every patch,every update,they fix 2 bugs,just so other 2 can pop out.

There is currently a really annoying bug to deal with as killer that appeared just after the latest bug fix.

I dont know how the code looks, but there's something seriously wrong with it.

  • 2 bugs? Were you asleep for the Onyro chapter where they fixed like a dozen bugs, which normally that list is a lot smaller?

Also, it's been said several times Behavior isn't planning to divert away from releasing Content, but they are bug fixing in the meantime.

I would say there is game mechanic and design reworks that need to happen. Things like face-camping, tunneling-off-hook-till-dead, useless perks on both killers and survivors, useless mechanics like chests, gen speeds, etc etc.

Bugs are usually addressed at some point.

  • yeah we need a health chapter but new content brings new players.

    • Face camping - The devs have said they want to find a way to further mitigate literal facecamping as a playstyle but hadn’t found a solution that was both effective but didn’t break something else. So they’re aware that’s an issue but who knows if or when they’ll find a way to lessen it.
    • Tunneling - Tunneling off the hook isn’t much of an issue, but they did hint they were looking at the possibility of making Borrowed Time base kit maybe.
    • Bad perks - There are definitely some useless perks out there. They do periodically buff bad perks though (eg. Dead Man’s Switch)
    • Chests - Are chests actually useless? I see survivors rummaging through them all the time. I admit, though, I never quite understood why survivors could enter the match with an item already in their hand. Why not make it so if you want an item in a match you have to loot a chest during it? Obviously that’s a bit of a nerf to survivors, so to compensate they could add additional chests to maps and make the items in the chests be better quality than usual. But that would make chests a lot more tempting and also boost chest related perks.
    • Gen Speeds - Gen speeds are actually probably mostly where they should be based on the desire to have most matches in the 1-3 kill range. For 1-3 kills to be the norm gens have to be completed most matches, it should be uncommon for the killer to keep the doors from opening with that as the design goal. And I haven’t seen stats showing that the game is off that 1-3 kill range in which case it doesn’t need gen speed adjustments.
  • The devs have said they aren't ever going to do patches for health related issues.

Gen speeds will never get fixed, they are still too fast.

  • This game needs a community that understands that one single health chapter would not actually solve any of the existent issues in the long run.

this game needs more focus on quality assurance and game health (in terms of bug fixing and balance and quality of life) in every update and patch. Instead the community is parroting what their fav streamer said against the devs because they didn’t get catered to.

  • What are we calling Mid Patches then? Are these not changes to the game health?

  • They did a mid-chapter patch that was mostly game health bug fixes and people complained about it not having anything new. If people are complaining about mid-chapter patch not having anything new there's no way we'd get a chapter patch focused on game health.

  • The issue isn't the devs aren't doing health chapters (that what mid-chapters are for), the issue is that the devs take 3 months to do any sort of "meaningful" changes which barely change anything.

For a multiplayer game there needs to be more than a single patch of changes every 3 months.

12 bugs every 3 months isn't really an acceptable rate.

tbf, there's always bug fixes on mid-chapters as well. So it's more like 1.5 months. Still slow.

    My apologies.

24 bug fixes every three months in a best-case scenario.

Not to mention the two bug fix patches that we get after every big update.

I mean, you could take time to understand, depending on the bug, it's not always a snap of your fingers fix; there's a lot that goes into this sorta thing. Before someone hands me this "but others games" most other games run on a different engine, weren't built by amateurs, no disrespect to Behavior, but even they admitted DBD wasn't expected to go anywhere, meaning the coding behind it is 100% all over the place.

Once you take this into account you'll realize they are getting better at fixing bugs and the Killswitch was added which 100% was a great addition to the game to stop the abuse of buggy perks/maps and Killers. While there's certainly more they can do understand what they've done so far is leagues better compared to how things were.

BHVR's updates need to be more frequent.

Changing 5 perks, adding number adjustments to Killers and bugfixes every 6 weeks isn't good enough anymore. The game is far too large for that to be viable.

Actually, the release of the ring chapter was one of the stablest we had in a long time. The new characters powers and perks pretty much just worked, and apart from the perks / perk combinations causing crashes, we had some broken tiles on Yamaoka / Springwood, but thats it. And this issues were resolved pretty fast, also unlike in the past,

I don't disagree. I'm simply stating that the "operation health" which people are asking for, which is months without content, will never happen. Bug fixes sure possible. Behavior does more, we'll see doubtful, because it takes a hot minute to get updates out to Console.

Siege was on Console too and they still managed it.
