  • would you please stop this?

right now you have 3 discussions on the first page, all asking for some BS nerfs no one wants.

if you wanna bait, do it less obvious.

    Edit: its actually 4.

  • since it is on a timer, this is not considered taking the game hostage and therefore not bannable.

    and it stays that way.

thats the literal design. to avoid people stalling out the game and therefore getting banned.

  • honestly, increasing their time to 30 seconds would also be totally okay, since they cannot open the hatch (which is why the skeleton key in general is ultra rare).

    they sure need some love...

  • Herman Carter (The Doctor) is a Killer that is difficult to play against when you are aa newer player. his mechanic literally deletes stealth gameplay and forces you to loop the killer, which is something newer players are not good at.

this is why he is considered to be a "noob stomper" (like freddy), but the better you get at the game, the easier Doctor rounds will go for you.

here is some possible counterplay that helps you playing against a Doc:

-when you see its a doc, get to madness 1 as fast as you can, while the killer is distracted. this way you avoid getting spotted later on when the killer has nothing to do.

-use lockers. inside these your madness will not raise and you will not scream, therefore not be revealing your position.

-when you are close to get into the next stage of madness, eigther do it while the killer is distracted, or try to avoid actions like running, healing, sahotaging, running etc while outside the killers TR. that way your madness will slowly decrease. (you will not be able to drop out of tier 1 or 2 though).

-do not stand still in a pallet and wait for the killer to stun them. the doctors shock attack will disable your ability to drop it when he goes for the hit.

-when you see the killer charging up his shock therapy, dont try to vault windows / pallets and instead go for another loop. dont waste any time in trying to vault them, as the doc will disavle your ability to do so for 2.5 seconds, allowing them to catch up to you and get a hit.

  • since the maps are randomly created, the devs intirduced a mechanic that checks for a minimum and maximum amount of pallets on each map.

in your case the minimum amount of pallets has not been fulfilled, therefore the game needed to load in more. and if there are no more jungle gyms to load the pallets into, the game puts a second pallet in one of the already present ones.

seeing this means, you have the absolute minimum of possible pallets on that map, so you should try to get a good use out of those.

  • i wouldnt like that solution, as that could result in possible noise spamming at the killer during chases, which is really annoying.

i think it would be better if Diversion worked like the Doctors static field: it reloads faster, the closer you are to the killer. obviously, the current requirements need to be fullfilled, so you need to be inside the Terrorradius and outside a chase.

  • more BPs is something i can get behind. its true that the current grind increases with every released chapter (took me 3 month to max out my spirit (okay, i dont play as much as i did back in the day, but still) and with a killer getting released every 3 month, this will be impossible in the later future).

more BPS for both sides would seem like a decent way to fight that problem

There's such a polarizing different between higher and lower ranks. This makes me start to wonder if they should do like they did with the pipping system, where it gets increasingly harder the higher rank you get.

Example being like the higher rank you go, the longer gens take or the more gens you have to do. It doesn't have to literally be that, but you get the idea. The requirement for survivors to escape getting harder the more you go up.

This also makes sense when you look at how the difficulty scales. As a killer the higher rank you go, the harder your games get. As a survivor the higher rank you go, the easier the game gets. This is because the biggest hurdle hurting survivors is getting bad teammates. As the survivors rank goes up, the likelihood of them getting really good teammates gets much higher.

while i would thinnk of such a concept to be a good idea, majority of survivors would just avoid ranking up to avoid harder games and being able to bully less skilled killers.

high rank queues would literally take hours to fill one lobby...

if you ask me, a secondary objective should be implemented to stop the amount of genrush the killers need to go through. i hope the devs will come up with some good ideas...

Get hit de-hooking a team mate from a face camping sack of trash then lose them to mend = Skill

But in @Mister_xD's imaginary world of make believe the only skill in dbd is M1 or M2 (most likely M2 one shot crutchery, let's be honest)

Entity's left nut sack the Killer Echo Chamber on this forum is real

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/497/TPHTPGCONNSV.png

    @SlinkyJinky

may i ask how you got to that conclusion, solely by my comment on MoM?

also, what makes you think MoM is a good perk? where is the skill in activating it? in my book, getting hit by the killer 3 times is not "the survivors immense amount of skill", but actually the killer playing well / the survivor screwing up. MoM is a perk that rewards for failure, thats my statement. prove me wrong.

PS: Trapper main. then Doc and then Billy (in that order). but yeah, im only using M2 oneshot crutches. we all know these instadown Docs...

PPS: gj on the fading effect on the speech bubbles. the other one didnt look nearly as good as this one.

  • yeah, these are annoying.

on the other side, billy also sometimes gets hits where you ask yourself "how in the world could that hit them??" (happened to me where billy just sawed down a wall and a survivor around the corner fell to the ground xD)

they need to address this bug imo

  • i thought they would be working on that?

i might be mistaken with that though.

maybe @Peanits has something to say about this idea? i bet he can tell you more than i do ^^

  • if you have a probem with the timer not starting, just open a gate yourself.

i wouldnt like it if the timer started and both gates were close to each other with, lets say, a remember me billy. you would just all 4 get sacrificed by the entity no matter what you do. now add bloodwarden on top of it and voila, no chance.

  • why is everyone defending this load of crap perk?

it rewards for failure, is yet another 2nd chance perk, got immediately meta for all toxic survivors, takes out the pressure out of many situations and is literally a huge middlefinger in every M1 killers face.

its annoyance level is around the old DS's level. combined with an instaheal its actually almost above DS's level.

why does the survivor community always want cheap crutches to win for them? (not all of you ofc, but rn it seems like every 2nd survivor player is asking for MoM to stay the way it currently is)

  • the first would immediately get meta for killers with high map pressure, as it would allow them to quickly travel back to the hook and defend it whenever someone gets close. that would not only kill the one on the hook, it would also put the other survivor in great danger.

the second one sounds like it would be a great slugging perk, when combined with deerstalker and knock out.

the third one doesnt seem that overwhelming to me. the decreased terrorradius wont do much and the red stain being gone for 60 seconds is another thing that wont really affect the gameplay that much.

basically, the first one needs a nerf, the second one is okay and the third one needs a buff to be viable ingame. i like the concepts though ^^

  • survivors that complain about NOED just cant stand the fact that they failed in their secondary objective and actually get punished for it.

if they would have fullfilled it, they would not suffer the exposed status effect. thats how easy it is.

if you ask me, the fact that you can even remove it AFTER it has activated by just destroying the lit up totem makes the perk a lot weaker than it should be, its hardly a punishment anymore.

eigther have the totem be protected by the entity or have all remaining totems lit up. that way survivors who gave a ######### about the secondary objective and rather rushed gens get punished in the endgame and survivors who took themselves the time to cleanse a totem get the reward of not being oneshot in the end / being able to remove the oneshot a lot faster.

  • i stopped reading after "and ignore what's required to obtain it". i mean, your putting it in perspective like it actually required the survivor to do something to obtain it.

in reality it only rewards the survivor for fcking up multiple times.

    it rewards for failure.

this is the main thing why DS got nerfed, because it rewarded the survivor for screwing up without much of a drawback. and lets be honest: aura reading is NOT a big drawback. good survivors will just loop you into oblivion, it literally doesnt matter weather you can see them or not.

  • are we talking pre nerf legion or past nerf legion?

cuz i can fully understand critisism on pre nerf legion, while i dont think critisism on past nerf legion would be appropiate...

  • @CallMeSpidey said:

I'd Love some mechanic that you escape at 99% because screw hook vacuum.

I like the idea, maybe a 99/97/95 perk or something.

    Or something.

    "hook vacuum" does not exist.

its just the fact that the killer has no ability to turn the hook like survivors do, but still has the same activation radius survivors have. the game just pulls the killer in the right direction, so the animation looks good. this results in your belief a "hook vacuum" was present, even though the killer has already reached the hook.

  • @CallMeRusty420 said:

What's with this 'the forums are killer sided' fad I keep seeing? Because from from what I've seen, there's both killer and survivor players on here and we get along just fine.

everyone who wants balance is automatically "killersided".

  • what do you mean?

Bubbas have a highly complex thought process they need to go through while playing!

    ep1y4qocilz5.jpeg

  • i played legion to get my daily done (julie skin).

two players joined my lobby with the names "[Legion] Frank" and "[Legion] Susie". i couldnt help but laugh my ace off xD

  • when i equip a mori, i mori them.

i use them rarely enough, so i want to see the animation as soon as possible :P

  • yeah, thats really annoying.

they announced an upcoming hotfix though, so chances are they will get rifd of this soon! :D

  • this dude has not been around when the killers got constantly nerfed, was he?

  • they will probaply lower the numbers on DS back to 3 seconds.

there would be no reasoning behind not doing so, so that seems to be most likely to happen.

Damn, I'm so stupid. I should have used my bell as wraith to counter MoM. U r such a genius, please train me sensei.

    Some people smh..

    @HavelmomDaS1

yeah, how could you not think of that?

its sooo obvious! as a pig, you just gotta teabag them to death!

  • the king has spoken!

on a serious note: i 100% agree. that would be ridiculous if they nerfed the perk, but kept the stuns high...

  • @PuppetLivesMatter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/480233#Comment_480233

Just gidgut kid, if you are good on chases you can catch him with your Wraith. If you can't ignore some ######### players (and not all survivors are like that) then just don't play DBD. And another thing: Devs stated once that thing about not all killers have to be viable, you should say every word that you said to me in this post to them, not me. Nerfing MoM is not the solution to improve the weak killers experience on the game, they need to be stronger. It's ridiculous that you think balancing it's only nerfing a perk like Mettle.

i will not comment on the whole "git gud" part, we both know this is just an attempt to trigger me and is something only someone who literally never really touched killer can say (at least in this situation).

but lets come back at the "not all killers have to be viable" argument. i know where its from, it has been said when people asked for Freddy reworks. this has been said in a livestream a long time ago and brought them quite a shitstorm. now, here is the interesting part: when people asked for a Boild Over (teachable Kate Denson perk) buff, the devs actually said "not all perks have to be meta perks. sometimes we can just have some gimmicky perks for fun.", which basically translates into "not every perk needs to be viable". so there you go, you got the argument back at you yet again. (please do not come up with the same argument yet again).

also, there is a huge difference between one or two killers (freddy and wraith at the time) not being viable and literally every killer besides like 3 or 4. this game is all about diversity, if you continuously face the exact same killer / play the exact same killer, this gets boring and you quit. thisi is how games die. i am not saying MoM is going to kill this game, but it is certainly a step in this direction. and no, nerfing MoM will not make killers like wraith or pig viable, but it will allow them to be MORE viable than they are now, which would be a step in the right direction.

now to finish this off, id like to ask you a question:

Why has Decisive Strike been nerfed into the perk is is now?

  • @PuppetLivesMatter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/480160#Comment_480160

Yeah... but survivors are just skins and you guys, killer mains with apparently not intellgence, complains about a single perk like you did with DS just because you aren't good in the game or instead using viable killers like the top 4 to counter it. And I didn't repeated the message so idk what you're saying.

so your basically saying we should give no ######### about weaker killers as this game is more balanced for the top tier killers.

that is your reasoning for literally nerfing every not top tier killer? because there are a few that dont get affected by the perk? seriously? by that logic, the devs should never even have started nerfing survivors, as we have nurse. nurse can win, its just everyone else that struggles extremely and will get stomped within seconds, but hey, since we have her thats balanced!

double pallet spots? no problem, nurse can blink through it.

infinite windows? no problem, nurse can blink through them.

old DS? no problem, nurse can catch a survivor fast enough anyway.

MoM? no problem, nurse can catch survivors fast enough anyway.

    etc.

is that your definition of balance?

if the devs followed that, the game would have died ages ago. i do not want to play the top killer ever match, just to stand a chance. i find myself really enjoying killers like Wraith, who on the other hand is just completely unfun to play against MoM users. and since this is new meta for every toxic ace hole out there, i will find myself getting trolled and BMed every time i happen to face those guys as a weaker, therefore more fun killer.

i am glad the devs do not listen to your understanding of balance.

  • seems like the bait worked then >:3

    you fell for it ^^

  • @PuppetLivesMatter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/479876#Comment_479876

Guess what? Not all killers have to be viable. Devs said it, not it. You can be good at chases or just use M2 killers like Billy

alright then. i will proceed to use your very own logic against you now:

guess what? not all survivor perks have to be viable. Devs said so. You can just be good at chases, play stealthy or run a better perk in the future.

PS: posting the exact same message twice in a row does not make it look more accurate, instead it seems like your begging for attention. just a little heads up, so you can avoid such mistakes in the future.

  • @PuppetLivesMatter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/479857#Comment_479857

And so? That's not a good reason for nerfing it. Use another powerful killer and not all ppl run MoM or Insta so...

that, my friend, is not how balancing works.

"just play a different killer" is not the kind of counterplay that should be suggested. every killer needs a fair chance to handle this perk.

the same way i could answer to you to just stop running the perk, so you dont have any reason to complain anymore. does that sound like a good argument? no.

  • Bamboozle + Enduring + Spirit Fury + Sloppy Butcher

    (all green btw, LUL)

basically, you slow the game down with sloppy and fight the loops with the rest of your perks.

as add ons id recommend using a swift hunt and the bone clapper.

  • ever played a M1 killer (e.g. Wraith) against a Mettle of Man user with an insta heal?

    no?

    i thought so.

  • god bless this is bait.

there will be ppl taking this serious though, and some will ask for exactly this...

  • TL;DR: you cant survive without your crutches and therefore dont want to try to improve but instead switch to the other "easier" side.

or did i get anything wrong there?

  • i like your new crown.

    long live the king!

  • i dislike the comcept of slippery meat making it easier to get out of traps...

not because its unlogical or anything, but because i dont think we need literal anti trapper perks, as trapper is already weak enough.

on a serious note: you dislike trappers? use Slippery Meat, Sabotage, Small Game and Dead Hard. imo, there should be something done about this anti trapper perk build. he deserves better!

  • No One Escapes Death:

once someone actually does get out (and escapes death), the entity will summon immediately and eliminate the killer on the spot, which causes them to lose all their points.

    Overcharge:

each time you kick a generator, you charge it up and add +20 charges to it and the gen will keep progressing with 1 charge / second until being touched by a survivor

    Ruin:

this perk is your ruin. disables every other perk you equipped and reduces your movement speed by 5%.

    Bond:

reveals your aura to everyone within 24m. (includes the killer)

    Saboteur:

toolboxes can no longer be used to repair generators.

    Head On:

missing the killer will result in you charging into the next wall, stunning you for the next 25 seconds.

    @Mister_xD

Survivours get to the door. Person opens the door. Blood warden triggers. Oops. Its obviously unlikely since blood warden is kinda crap but i never 99% doors because that perk exists.

Eventually as survivour you gotta surrender the kill you had more then two minutes to organise the escape if you mess up then ditch the person and leave. This is a horror game no good deed goes unpunished.

    @Zarathos

you completely missed my point once you said "Person opens the door".

also, how tf would bloodwarden trigger with the gates at 99%?

the only valid counter argument to my suggestion would be, that the killer opens the door himself, which just means you gotta hurry and leave. obviously, when 99%ing a gate you do NOT open it and instead onetap it once everyone is save.

  • honestly, the title made me think there was a massacre going on on those ranks xD

  • @Orion said:

Yes. All TR effects are transferred with Dark Devotion.

    @Orion

does that also apply to the static field? it should, but it also makes no sense if it does xD

and when im using calm? will the obsessions terrorradius also be increased / decreased by me switching modes? (dont know much about the perk, lol)

  • 3xnilgjswu3k.jpg

literally the mindset of those players.

  • they do not discuss bans in public.

you will not gain any information on weather the players you have reported will get banned or not.

  • @PigNRun said:

    Leaked winter event.

where is my LOL button when i need it? xDD

  • @TAG said:

What is the window bug/exploit? Would like to know what to look for in the future.

    @TAG

survivors can vault specific windows endlessly, no matter weather they got entity blocked or not.

basically a return of the old days infinites, but the killer can vault faster than back then.

  • what a lot of people dont seem to understand is, that the legion nerfs actually only got rid of the most unfun aspects of him.

now that these are out of the way, they can start buffing legion to a point where he is actually a viable killer without having them to be the most cheese killer in the game.

i am strictly against reverting those changes, even though im usualy all for killer buffs, this annoyance of a killer needed to die. maybe they can give them a rebirth and they are fun to play as / against next time.
