Does it show you (like other perks do on the right side) when someone is using it? or you just notice the struggle is slower? @Nicholas

Camaraderie? It's not very useful, it only works during the second stage and another Survivor has to be within 16 meters and it's limited to 34 seconds. I think it should only require the Killer Camp you and that alone should slow down the timer but the additional prerequisite of a Survivor camping you? Way unnecessary.
Ah, I don't have Steve so I didnt know. Yeah doesn't seem very useful...

And all those responses don't actually have anything to do with the problem.
Hey I'm just saying what I've read in similar posts.
Realistically speaking, I doubt they will change anything since, as far as I've read here, BHVR said camping is a legit strategy.
Ah I forgot to mention "Use (insert Steve's perk that works in that situation) then"
-
I'll make a summary of the responses you'll get
*Camping is a valid playstile
*Killer loses points
*Other survivors can take this time to finish gens / genrush the killer
*"Git Gud kid"
Am I missing anything else? lol

14 secs* :) unless they changed it?
-
"Just cleanse 4head" lol I dont mind it, I've had survivors cleanse all my totems as killer and NOED doesnt trigger, I'm like "Aww man" and as a survivor when you realize they have NOED its like "ugh noed" but you just move on, it would be hypocritical to get upsed if I use it myself sometimes :P
-
Im torn about this, I do use iron will as a survivor. I recently started because I felt like after the last chapter the sounds seemed louder, even as a killer I noticed I could hear survivors in the lockers way eassier than before, so I started using it.
As a killer, while I understand why I come across a lot of iron will users (cause I do it myself) I use stridor to counter this.
So I use both.. It bugs me when a killer uses it but I can't complain cause it would be hypocritical lol

Today I played with three friend and we got games much faster. This was between 2-5 pm in central timezone. I don't know what's going on with this game.
Im central too. I said this in other discussions, I noticed that the later it gets (evening-night) the longer it takes to find matches.
-
Maybe the issue is matchmaking and not wether we see the ranks or not....
-
I'm on Xbox and I have this same issue. Solo or 4 or 3 or 2 players takes FOREVER to find a match. That's why I'm now playing mostly killer, theres less than a minute queue for that.
Watching my pc friends on stream also tells me the survivor queue is way more than the killer one but not as long as we have it on console.

Suicide by hook means they died on their first hook instead of DCing...
It's considered to be the same thing, to die on your first hook intentionally or to DC by leaving the match.
Thanks, yeah I'm just discussing that in a different thread. I don't see why that is bad tho, frustrated players shouldn't be forced to stay. Killer gets the kill and they will lose a pip. But that's just me.
Thanks for all the help!

They're able to monitor who DCing intentionally and unintentionally.
Soon they'll be able to monitor suicide by hook as well, if they haven't already. People who crash because of bad internet or something similar won't really be effected by this change... since they'll know if you left the match or your internet just died on you.
I hope so! It happens once in a blue moon but I'd be frustrated either way.
What do you mean by suicide by hook? as in not struggling?
-
Agreed, same for unfortunate yellow ranks getting randomly put with purple and red lobbies.

oh ok. well unnerving presence is still a counter. the skill checks are tiny.
I still think make your choice is the killer equivalent of it.. As a survivor you get rescued, you get a 60 seconds chance.. someone rescues you and the killer gets a 60 seconds chance of a free down.

People "say" they play both sides. I also I play more or less both sides and I disagree, but don't comment on a subject, because it's pointless. Well, I guess as I'm at it, DS allows you to be an idiot and get away with it. I dislike that. There must be something changed to discourage people from acting stupid on purpose.
Same logic can be applied to NOED.

I see that most of us that play both killer and survivor almost equally agree that DS is overperforming.
Demagogue much?
Lmao I mean, just read the latest comments and you will see 3 people that play both sides agreeing that it doesnt need nerfing. But I guess you decided to dismiss that.

I will tunnel and camp that person out if i get punished without a legit reason. Also in my all survivor games i missed the new DS skillcheck total of like 4-6 times. It's VERY easy to hit lol
How will u get punished without a legit reason? You mean not tunneling and getting DS? Well camp them then if that's what you feel like. I don't see the big deal. Whenever I get DS-ed I'm like "ugh Ds" and move on and almost always chase them and down them back.
You'd be surprised how many people have told me "i hate when I forget i have DS and i miss the skill check" so it's not as uncommon as you think.
-
I think it's all the platforms. Killer lobbies are super fast to find, that's why I'm mostly playing killer now. Survivors take so long, and when you finally get one the killer decides to cancel it. It's super frustrating.
Also I've noticed the later it gets (evening-night) the longer it takes to find a match.
-
@lunaticlifter Saying "just hide" for MYC or haunted grounds is the same as saying "just chase someone else", same logic, not even gonna discuss that....
It is an anti tunneling perk, a ONE TIME use anti tunneling perk (unlike MYC). Maybe if killers let survivors use it at the start/middle of the game then they wont have to worry about it during the end game. It doesnt grant invulnerability at all, it would if the skill check was guaranteed, but it's not. Yeah u can say "most people can hit it" but there's times they dont, and you will never realise because u cant see it.
It rarely happens if you don't tunnel. I'm not saying it cant, it's happened to me, but not enough to consider it OP or an issue. If you see the player practically begging you to chase him/down him, then yes, just slug them, or ignore them, or like I said, do something else. Prevent the other survivors from completing the gens.. I mean, that's the whole point of the match..
-
@lunaticlifter said:
@MissBehavingX nope.. but if they just come at me telling me that ds is completely fine, without telling a good reason why ds is fine and should not be changed, there is something you are lacking for sure.. it's not kinda like old MoM for sure, but still..
DS got already nerfed. Like I've said before, even if you dont mean to tunnel and end up downing the same person, if you get hit by DS you will most likely chase him and down him again. They say to slug, but if you refuse you can go after whoever rescued them, use make your choice so that gives u an incentive to chase that person instead? If you dont wanna use another perk to counter that perk then, like i said, do something else. Kick some gens, wasting your time going after that specific survivor will make the others complete the gens faster anyway, and will likely escape..
Complaining about the 60 secs of DS is like complaining about the 60 seconds of make your choice or haunted grounds, it's basically the same.
The only excuse I read over and over is DS during endgame. Just like survivors complain about NOED. Both may seem unfair to the other during end game. But it's just a way to give the other party a "last chance" of surviving/killing.
-
@Callmehandsome said:
I love how people are saying "just slug them" Killers time is more valuable, if he needs to slug every survivor who recently had been unhooked could mean losing the game. Every second you spent guarding the slugged person, could be 3 seconds on the generators. Sure you can leave and patrol gens, which is risking losing that hook you deserved and maybe not even finding next survivor
You don't even need to camp nor tunnel to find same survivor again, most of the time they just go repairing same generator close to you, becouse they know if you touch them, you get punished.
One way to make DS more fair would be keep the 60 seconds, but if killer goes like 32 meters away, the timer goes with double speed. So you have 30 second immunity if killer stays far away.
If the killer stays far away then DS will become useless anyway, so it's pretty much the same. Unless hes just walking around the map doing nothing? I'd assume killers that are far away will find a survivor or a pallet to destroy or a gen to kick, even if that didnt take 60 secs by the time he finds the survivor again and the chase starts im sure those 60 secs are gonna be over.
And like someone said previously. Even if you get DS stunned, most of the time the killer will catch up and down them...
-
He's not a camper.. he's just... hmm.. strategically hiding in lockers :) lol

Didn't know that was a rank above Rank 1 called Prestigious Rank 1 (Please stop talking to people as if you're above them).
I'm red rank in Killer so please stop saying 'play killers more'. Maybe DS is more common than I think, but because I treat it as a mild inconvenience and move on I don't negatively obsess over one perk so much.
Or because you dont tunnel.
@lunaticlifter so, just because somone doesn't main killer it means you are gonna disregard their opinion? I play both the same so, since that doesnt make me killer main that's good to know so I don't bother nor waste my time.
-
Ok killer

@Rinthespooki said:
From now on, if you get survivors complaining about your "tunneling" or "camping" or telling you how to play killer just respond with "ok survivor".
Ok killer.

I'm a new player and this halloween event was my first one, I was so excited cause I heard or saw videos of past events I couldn't wait for it. When it finally came I was so disappointed... :/
-
Or chase that survivor for a minute or go chase someone else, or go destroy some pallets and kick some gens.. There are so many thing you can do during those 60 seconds. Or let them use it early in the game just so you're sure they dont have it during end game. I dont see the big deal.
Even if you guys say its not "anti tunnel" it is. Like I've said a few times, It almost always goes to waste for me cause i rarely get downed within a minute of being unhooked.. why? cause the killer focuses on the other survivor that rescued me or because I was far enough to waste it or because the killer decided to chase someone else or destroy something else..

Wrong there have been many times were iv got lucky in reds and purple.
On top of that ds needs nerf its broken in its state. 60 immunity is unfar.
ds should be anti tunnel the moment your unhook u should be going far away.
Ds should be made to to deactivate if iv hook someone. Its stop trolling from survivors and makes them run off so they cant stay around you and abuse it for 60sec.
So then im force to slug and in most cases that person will 9/10 always get revive and of scotch free.
I guess we might as well nerf make your choice or haunted ground cause 60 seconds of being exposed is too much lol heck lets get rid of NOED cause being exposed during endgame is unfair
/sarcasm

If you are able to get 2 downs, hook both, and still get hit with DS by a third person, you're playing against really, REALLY bad survivors.
That, or you're exaggerating because you want the perk nerfed, which would eventually lead to other perks becoming the problem.
LMAO I was about to say the same.
When I use DS as a survivor I almost never get to use it because I rarely get downed within 60 secs. (I start to think most of the people complaining tunnel wether they want to admit it or not).
When I play killer, I rarely get stunned by it. At least not enough to consider it a problem, *shrugs*

i have mixed feelings about solo queue; mostly because i get grouped up with people who don't exactly... play. like they're supposed to.
and a lot of the time, i get thrown under the bus. ;w;
but! there's always those good few games that give me a bit of hope every time, and i've been trying to play more survivor because of them. (though i do miss my demogorgon...)
I just played the best game, I was solo as per usual, but the teamwork was so amazing. It was endgame and gates already opened, and long story short the killer managed to get 3 hooks (which he all camped, they were 1 hook at a time) but we all rescued while he camped and all escaped. All with no communication. I love those games.
-
I rarely get to use it tbh cause I rarely get downed after 60 secs. Its completely fine.
Playing as killer i dont get stunned by it as much to be a problem IMO
-
Why dont we also get rid of the toolboxes and brand new parts? *insert dorky face*

A better way to do this would be making custom games playable by yourself, preferably with bots but even the "Husks" would be fine
That's the thing, I wanna see how they play in a real game scenario.
-
I have only camped once, just to finish a hook challenge, I felt so dirty and so bad I msged the survivor and apologized adn explained why I camped. He was very understanding and took it well. I hate campers.
-
God no.... I thought you were gonna suggest voice coms for survivors, which is probably the only thing I like about being a console pleb, that if i want to (which is rarely but I think some people do it) I can just invite the other survivors to a party and communicate, no need to add and stuff. But being able to hear people just like that.. no thanks. I'm from latinamerica and YOU KNOW that my people like to have the freaking telenovelas on the background and their 6 kids running around and crying or just have terrible mics. I pass.
-
Same, most of my games are solo, I rarely do SWF, only when friends ask to play.
It's funny tho that almost all the killers just assume you're SWF, especially when you all escape, I keep getting messages from killer complaining about how it was SWF or asking to "tell my friend this or that", only to inform them that they arent my friends, that I was playing solo.
-
I had no idea there was aim assist, I thought it was just crappy hitboxes

Yeah I guess it's spirit-only-matches now :/ at least for while

In 2019 if you lose your connection and disconnects because of a crappy connection, you should not play online games. And if you lost your internet connection it is usualy for a long moment so you dont care if you get a penalty or not.
At some point where the internet is of good quality now, games should not consider the DCing as maybe he lost connection but always as a rage quit and apply penalties. I will be fine if i lost power and got a ban for 2h. If its happen more then once in a week, trust me that internet compagny will have a real problem with me.
Back on topic, Dcing should have ban penalty period. For example i have been waiting about 20min to get a game going becaues 2 killers DC when the game started and on the game that finaly started 2 guys rages quit which make it as a 2vs1, its ridiculous, there is no control on the Dcing at all, i just start playing this game 3 weeks ago, i LOVE but that DCing not control is killing me slowly....
I had 3 friends that start playing with me and they stop playing and move back to another Game because the waiting time is too long and there is always someone DCing.
I usually have pretty good / steady connection but there's been times my internet had a hiccup or the router got accidentally disconnected that I've disconnected from games, it would be super unfair to be punished for that. And it can happen to you, if it did im sure you would complain about it.
A ban for multiple offenses is fine. But deranking them for doing it would be rewarding them since some disconnect to derank
-
Then it should be fine for casual players like myself. I don't expect to finish all rift tiers, at all, even with the tomes. But that's OK. I still believe the grind is a bit more than other season passes out there
-
I'm not talking about rift completion, I'm talking about the serums. The event is about to be over. Will the skins be available after the 13th? If they are available then yeah I guess people can complete the 60 serums without an issue. If they are gone, then what's the point?
-
I oh I must've been bugged cause I didn't see the safety pip, just the last 2.. I had 2 lines and the safe one was at the beginning of the bar always. I restarted the game and I see 3 lines now. Thank you!
-
Fixing issues shouldn't mean increasing the volume, just fixing what caused them not to work properly. I don't think the audio needed to be increased, now it's way too easy for killers to hear them even inside lockers. Before you really had to pay attention to realize someone was hiding, when I played killer today I heard them inside lockers super easy
-
I wouldn't say rank = skill
I have been playing this game since late July and I have been red rank after my first rank reset, so 3 out of 4 months (the first one I was learning the game) so, after one month of knowing absolutely nothing, just studying the game and playing it casually (I work full time I can only play maybe 2 hrs a day, and not every day) will get you to red ranks.
I'm not a potato, but I'm not good either, I'd say I'm pretty average, but I did study the game (only the survivor side) so I know the minimum work I need in order to be safe or to pip, and I try to do it every match.
Just knowing basic things like how many gens you need to do per match to reach iridescent or gold, and how many hook rescues you need to do, and try to not get hooked and run the killer without getting caught is what will get you to rank. You can be a potato and do 2 full gens by yourself and rescue 2 players and heal some others and be a scaredly Dwight hiding from the killer and you will guarantee to pip.
On the killer side, I'm not sure, I main survivor. The only thing I can say is that yesterday I played against a ranked 2 killer in coldwind farm who couldnt keep up with a chase, she disconnected because she couldnt catch us... So only based on that match she was pretty bad at rank 2.
So tl;dr, being a red rank does not guarantee you have skill.
ETA: play time, at least for me, is not a factor to determine your rank, as I said, I can only play maybe 2 hrs every other day, and I still manage to rank red..
-
I did report in game, I have a clip too. Thanks for the help guys!!
-
-
I know.. that's.. what i said in both posts lol. "Like this example with thanatophobia. I know thanatophobia is a perk that affects the game"
anyway.... But thank you, all i needed to know was if there is a list with all the eprks/addons that show up there. so i guess not?
Thanks
-
No, maybe i didnt explain myself..
I'm talking about the icons NEXT to the perks.. Like this example with thanatophobia. I know thanatophobia is a perk that affects the game. I'm talking about THOSE icons/perks. What are those icons called and if theres a list of all the little icons that can show up there.
What are all the perks/modifiers/whatever they are called that will show up there if a killer or a survivor are using them.
I tried to look it up but all i could find were the status hud and proficiency indicators, not those modifiers.
Thanks in advance
