I have seen too much toxicity on this forum to tell whether this is sincere or not. But Imma be an optimist and say Cheers!
It is sincere and I am sorry you see so much unable to tell, sending virtual hugs!

I have a cat named Whiskey.
Three dogs named Blue, Floakie, and Peaches.
A bunny named Bunbun. (His real name is Big Ears, but I always call him Bunbun)
A shark fish that's unnamed.
An angel fish that is unnamed.
And two geckos named Oden and Freya.
Animals I used to have before (during this year) but they either passed away or ran away:
Jayjay: A blue bird that had fallen from it's nest that my stepdad found at work. Passed away.
Tiny: A baby squirrel my stepdad saved from my cat, but sadly passed away from internal bleeding.
Speedette: Turtle that somehow escaped her cage and ran away.
-
Survivor: Prove Thyself, I often get left with potato teammates who can't tell the difference between a generator and a rock, so I want my BP and useful when I have teammates that help
Killer: BBQ, meta, yes, but Bloodpoints
-
7 months ago I was playing Feng Min and at the time Susie was (and still is) my favorite person from The Legion. I got into a game and found someone playing her and I squealed in delight cuz at the time I didn't see many Legion players. As I was on my death hook, I had accepted my gate and didn't wiggle.
The Legion just ended up carrying me around and eventually dribbled so I could get off and they had me follow them like a little duckling following it's mother.
The messaged me after the game and said that Feng Min was their favorite survivor and we bonded over it, we are still friends too!
-
I use GG both when I went or lose, I have no specific conditions unless the person tunneled or can't, or the Survivor was playing toxic, but if they were genuinely playing well on both sides then that deserves a GG
-
This isn't the best solution with a Pig who wants to tunnel you the whole game. Encountered one yesterday actually.

You're referencing the video of McCote being stomped with was YEARS ago. That was when instablinds got nerfed.
If you read my reply to gibbly, I said "from what I heard" someone else said it a few days ago

That video is almost 3 years old. Back before instablinds got removed.
Like I said, "from what I heard" I don't watch the streams, someone else said it recently
-
But Noed is so OP you scummy killer main!!! Michael and Ghostface shouldn't be able to put you in exposed cuz Survivors are oppressed!!!!

-
From what I heard the dev who said flashlights were fair and balanced got stomped by flashlight users on stream while playing killer.
That same week the angel was changed and during Blight update the flash was angled at the center of the screen

This seems like the best solution currently. The timed bans have thus far proven exploitable by hackers. Not to say there would be no way of hacking that, but perhaps creating a server to dump repeat offenders in may be a better punishment.
Exactly, instead of taking away a few bloodpoints, keep the 0 bloodpoints when disconnecting and create the system that'll put repeat offenders of disconnecting together.
When they fix the exploitation of the matchmaking penalty being hacked, it's the best course of action.
-
Disconnecting grants 0 bloodpoints, pair this with the matchmaking penalty, they should put people that D/C with others that D/C

Oh yes. But at least you can turn off postgame chat (I did and it makes things so much nicer).
Just go in and pretend you are fighting bots.
I am on Xbox, can't set my messages to friends only either. He did it cuz him and his friend played emersed, so the killer let me go and kill them.

Shrug. DbD is about a 7/10 on the toxometer. There are a lot of hooting buttholes playing the game (generally as survivors) but it will never compare to the horrible glory days of UT2004, DOTA, early League of Legends, Smite, Dark Souls, Everquest or Ultima Online.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1635764#Comment_1635764
Ark, yes. Overwatch? Eh. I'd say that DbD is worse as a whole - mostly because Blizzard actually do stuff to police their games and attempt to account for premades and the like with matchmaking.
Well there are cases where these things slip through the cracks. Though I do admit, DBD can be extremely toxic, had someone tell me that they hope I die. Reported and nothing happened.
-
Bruh if you think this is one of the most toxic communities, try R6S, Ark, Overwatch, ect. There are plenty of communities more toxic than DBD. Trust me.

@Xyvielia said:
Devs won’t ever do that.
What they could/ should do, is place an icon next to survivors names after the match that designates which players were on a SWF team for that match.
That way, at least the killer would kno what elements of SWF/ Solo they played against.
Devs most likely wouldn’t add this feature either, since it potentially causes killers to opt out of lobbys where they see certain survivors who they’ve seen SWFing.
Which leads us to the solution for everyone:
Remove player names from killer’s view while in the lobby.
They don’t need to be there anyway.
Let survivors see who’s who amongst survivors, and still not see the killer. Let the killer not see who anyone is. Then after the match, allow the killer to kno who they were up against.
This way, no one can dodge certain players, and killers at the end of the match could see who they really faced.
At least that would give killers some peace of mind on wether they got destroyed by, or did the destroying of; a team of Solo’s, a team of SWFs, or a variation of both.
This, I was about to come in and type this. And if there is two sets of SWF then maybe put a 1 by the first set, and a 2 with the second set.

If you wish to look, I made a forum, the thread talks about people's issues with disconnecting. There is also discussion going on surrounding it with people trying to defend disconnecting and whatnot, feel free to take a look to see other's experiences.

I had someone DC today and it cost me iridescent devout. I'm saying this as a survivor main too they need to add a mechanic in the game if a DC happens you get all the points you would have gotten for that 1 survivor and 3 hook states and a sacrifice and on the survivor side if someone DC's before the first gen is popped, take 1 gen off like they did when you used to get 3 man lobbies
Thanks for contributing your story. I hope they add a better protection to prevent hackers from giving false penalties. Also hopefully put people that D/C with others that do it.
I've seen countless YouTubers/streamers disconnect, just because they could.

Euhm... as a new player approximately a week of play, that reached rank 13 I am jealous of the perks you have. I am still busy simply unlocking the teachables.
The issue you describe is true though, I meet nearly exclusively purple and red ranks.
Not sure how long you've been playing, but this is nothing to be jealous of, BBQ was in Shrine two weeks ago, just got Devour from Shrine, and Pop I think I got two months ago before I even touched killer. I got it for Pig cuz I had just bought the DLC

Crossplay has no effect on the matchmaking other than the platform
I understand that, but usually the reason I turn my cross-play since I don't trust I will do well and the amount of D/C's with it enabled as Survivor
-
I think the main build I have an issue with is Unbreakable, DS, Tenacity, and Soul Guard. Tried it in custom, it's a nightmare
-
@Angelicus23 said:
Even if mmr is disabled there's a matchmaking system to match you not only by ranks, but also by playtime and progress you made, you won't be placed with new players with a smurf account, no matyer how much time you didn't play.
A real new player wouldn't get matched with these, or with you, unless the matchmaking is taking more time.
So it could be since I have cross-play turned off?

I don´t blame you for using good perks. That would be kinda dumb imo. I´m only saying that what you posted there doesn´t align with what the title suggests, sorry if I offended you.
No, don't worry I understand why
-
@Slashstreetboy said:
You just seem to lack experience as Killer. I´m sure if you stay dedicated to improving, you will!
Your experience as Survivor will be really helpful in the long run.
Your post there though....you pretty much outperked them, it doesn´t support your point well I´m afraid.
Shrine was for BBQ and Pop, grinded BP for Trapper's Brutal Strength and they kept swarming the hook whenever I hooked someone

What did they do that was "toxic"?
And why do you think "toxic" and "sweating" are the same thing?
The reason why I consider toxic and sweating the same thing is because of the amount of try-hards. Even when I do solo and see the three man SWF I message the killer, and give a GG cuz the other bullied them. Even if I lose.
I often mix them together because toxic people are usually the ones to run DS + UB combo but not all the time. Sometimes people don't take the factor maybe they don't have the Halloween DLC or haven't leveled up Bill, ect.
Sometimes it's just by the play style. That's what I consider sweating and obviously most people consider it by the perk build.

@The_Krapper said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/193073/this-is-why-new-players-dont-play-killer
With those perks you have it's obvious you aren't a noob, also there isn't even a single red rank in that game I would hardly call it a sweat squad , not a single DS or unbreakable being ran
Got pop and BBQ from a shrine, bud idea was from the forums, grinded BP and spent on Trapper for Brutal Strength. I've only played at least around 15 games as killer in total and at least 700+ as Survivor.
-
Proof I got it from the shrine, Trapper is level 35 cuz I needed Brutal Strength
Ghostface is my only killer at 50 and I rarely play him
-
@CashelP14 said:

Even if you never played killer your Devotion 3. This means you know the game well enough to know how a killer should play. You knew Ghostface's best add-ons and got pretty decent perks.
Sorry but if your Devotion 3 you have a very good understanding of the game. Also at Devotion 3 you should know that's not a sweat squad.
I consider people that play toxic sweating, because they kinda are, I got the build from other people on the forums, I don't pay attention to how the killer plays most the time unless they are troubling to play against. For me it's harder to transition to something else when I embed it into my head. Playing killer isn't just muscle memory no matter how skilled a Survivor.
I acknowledge I haven't seen the worst of it though since I am not a red rank killer, but people also avoid it so they don't get put with green ranks when they have no experience, or even red/purple
-
@SloppyKnockout said:
YOU THINK THAT'S A SWEAT SQUAD?
I'm sorry - I just had to chucke.
My dude, that was down to your lack of skill. Not their "sweating". You need to play, accept that you will lose HARD as you learn to get better.
Killer is no doubt the harder and more strategic role to play in the game, but nothing in DBD is particularly hard regardless.
It's the way they were playing, not the perks, they played toxic, I consider that sweating
-
Maybe do it every other month, or every three months
-
@CashelP14 said:
You cannot call that a sweat squad. Take a minute to look at their perks mate.
- Only 1 BT
- No DS
- No Dead Hard
- Only 1 Spine Chill
- No Adrenaline
- No Sprint Burst
- No Unbreakable
- Urban evasion
If they were smurf accounts they would be using a lot better perks or playing characters that have some of those perks.
Now look at your build:
- BBQ - Meta
- Pop Goes The Weasil - Meta
- Brutal Strength - Extremely good perk
- I'm All Ears - Decent perk
- Recovery Add-ons - Best for Ghostface
Even if you haven't played in a while you still should've destroyed that team. I'd say the only player who has a decent build was the one who brought a flashlight and coldwind.
My other comments probably didn't load, but I don't play killer, I main Survivor, farmed BP and spent it all on Ghostface getting everything from the shrine except Brutal Strength, farmed BP for Trapper
-
@HollowsGrief said:
You're devotion rank 3 bruh, you aren't new to this game and you aren't rank 20.
I play Survivor, that's why I am such high devotion, the highest rank I got to as killer is rank 18, my perks are like that cuz I farmed BP to spend on Ghostface, I don't like going in with little to no perks
-
@Clevite said:
You got tier 3 pop and bbq on a rank 20.
You sure you're not the smurf?
I know I know, you haven't played in awhile, right?
No, i got BBQ, Pop, ect. From shrine, saved my BP and spent all my BP. I main Survivor

this for sure the dc penalities did nothing but hurt killers who want out which don't hurt survivors or hurt play who got dced by the game don't forget the hackers which never going away that why dc penalities shouldn't come back either bring in bots to replace dc player or splitting the queue I think bots be better but that me.
Bots are a good idea, though difficult to implement with the amount of coding, so I don't think they'll be introduced anytime soon

This isn't correct. The LEAVE MATCH function is there for emergencies - not for when people get downed instantly, or don't want to play against a certain killer or against a certain survivor perk.
DC'ing is spoiling the game for the other players in the match who do want to play. And I do definitely suggest that if you are unable to play a match, don't even go into a lobby!
Thank you for taking the time to look at this thread, I really do hope the penalties are fixed. It makes me slightly frustrated when I can wait 10 minutes in a lobby, finally get into a match and during the match someone leaves for some idiotic reason.
It just disappoints me because they think they can do it cuz "they paid money". Again, thank you for responding

The trial is already ruined by a broken addon.
But disconnecting makes it worse, you screw over your teammates. I rather deal with a broken add-on than abandon my teammates/suicide on hook like a prick because "woes me, I died"
Also, it almost 3AM rn so I am slightly out of it

you don't wait 10 minutes because your teammates decide to dc, if you are waiting 10 minutes on a dc ban and you didn't dc but someone in your swf did, stop playing with them or tell them to stop. You have the choice of who and when you play with anyone.
No, i meant I don't wanna wait 10 minutes in a lobby, only to get into a game for someone to D/C, I don't D/C and I don't get a penalty :P with the penalties disabled, I wait in a lobby for that long even with cross-play on
-
@EqMonkVeeshan said:
It's on behavior folks. its poor design choices no one enjoys annoying. the last year or so they have only really added in annoying on both sides. it started with legion and has progressed going forward. this problem will remain for as long as dbd is in such a poor condition.
They need to focus on the bugs and balancing issues. But that will never happen, because they need to keep releasing DLCs to keep people active. It sucks, but is true. Optimization on all platforms need fixed, they need to fix hit validation, I can be behind the killer and they still make a hit, ect.
But I mostly just want D/C penalties fixed. I don't wanna wait 10 minutes for a game just for the killer/my teammates to D/C mid-game/in loading.

Nobody really care about other players. I'd say even devs dont care about us. Instead of making BT and DS default game mechanics that would prevent not fun games where you stay on hook all game, devs locked these mechanics in perks. :^)
DS idrc but BT needs to be base kit

You should give no cross play a shot, sure queues are maybe 10min longer. but its really fun, not many people do it so you run into the same people pretty often and it's like a lil community. everyone knows each other and the killers aren't dbags. Once you get into queue, after your game you re-queue and get a lobby instantly with at least 2/3 of the same people you just played with. And it's like this at all hours, I play any hour of the day with no issues. worth a shot
I will try, thanks for the encouragement

The thing about Iridescent Head is that the Huntress 99% of the time will get right on your tail and then use it, not using actual skill and doing it from a distance because she wants the easy win or want people to rage quit. I've concluded that Huntresses do this because they had a horrible previous round and they are salty about it and want to make the next game miserable for the survivors as revenge. Hey, add me on Steam, we can play SWF sometime if you want :D
Thanks qwq I am on Xbox, but when if you have discord, add me, that way I can send my friend code thingy

Bunny Feng, most, not all, play toxic and think they are amazing at the game. I only play my Bunny Feng cosmetic sometimes cuz I usually get tunneled, but even without it I am tunneled.
Pink hair Nea, most only run her cuz of No0b3 but can hardly hold a chase.
Most, if not all Davids. Always are so smug, don't go for saves, sit on the other side of the map, ect.
Adam, even though most run deliverance, they always go down first and screw over the team.
Any survivor without prestige, usually leads me to believe they are potato, especially with global. The reasoning is because I feel those who've Prestiged have played the game for a bit.
-
It's definitely going to be a licensed killer so just think of any horror movies that have a siren, every year two license DLCs and two non-licensed DLCs get released. We got both of our non-licensed, time for the second licensed.
-
Played this game where the flashlight was in the killer's face, didn't blind, and they didn't have Lightborn
-
Please tell me this is bait, we don't need more Survivor vs. Killer threads >~>

Randoms are the worst, but funny enough being a solo player is how I still find Dead by Daylight "fun" and challenging. I have more luck as a solo player then as a SWF group, lmao.
Before the Hexy's Tournament and Rank Reset, I would get out of every match as a solo in red ranks. After the tournament and rank reset every teammate needs to get beat over the head with a shoe before understanding. Not including a few.
Killer before hand were genuinely good sports, I would give tips on how to fix the perk builds from what I've seen from people who main said killer. The minority tunneled and camped. Now, everyone tunnels/camps, runs garbage perk builds that are fixed with OP add-ons, most are toxic. And the majority tunnels/camps and now including, slugging. For no other reason than 'they can'.
