  • Man I wish my teammates tried as hard as everyone says they do xD

But everything aside, the point is to win the game and you can't blame them for wanting to win

I think the core issue here is the matchmaking as it seems like you may be getting matched up with players that are just simply more experienced, and that's no knock to you. Just the way it is

  • Sheesh I have countless clips just like these two but if it's ever brought up all I get in return is "cry more" or "just get good" lmfao. It forces you to misjudge taking a vault or dropping a pallet ultimately resulting in you dying when you shouldn't have. It's to the point where I've had to sacrifice two perk slots as staples for every build I run, those being Spine Chill + Resilience just for the tiny percent extra speed when vaulting in hopes that just MAYBE I won't get slapped after taking a few steps after my vault lmao, it's a ######### joke

  • i noticed this as well from watching videos on youtube. Did it get changed?

I will still play the game, cuz I payed good money. But every single game out of the 30+ games I've done solo queue, everyone keeps tunneling and camping. Every. Single. Game. Only one game I didn't get tunneled/camped cuz the killer pitied me and the other Meg cuz two people D/Ced cuz she had Iri-Head.

I try to play other games but I get bored so easily. I don't know which platform it is, but it sure as hell isn't Xbox. I am not disabling cross-play cuz I don't need hour long queue times. Why is this considered a strategy. I literally get face camped, I just wanted to complete a ######### challenge and I can't do that.

It just keeps happening, over, and over, and over again. Why!? Why do people have to ruin another person's experience. Then I get stuck with potato teammates who can't run a killer for 10 seconds and let people get to second phase/die on first hook.

If you read this, thank you, probably gonna take a break from the game and cool my head a bit.

You should give no cross play a shot, sure queues are maybe 10min longer. but its really fun, not many people do it so you run into the same people pretty often and it's like a lil community. everyone knows each other and the killers aren't dbags. Once you get into queue, after your game you re-queue and get a lobby instantly with at least 2/3 of the same people you just played with. And it's like this at all hours, I play any hour of the day with no issues. worth a shot

As someone who mains survivor and does not run exhaustion perks i'm sick of seeing everyone else in game using them or killers complaining about them. Its frustrating to be punished for perks I don't even run and then I see people showcase how killers have more useful and op perks than killer.

Just look at the new dlc the new killer has game changing and breaking perks with really cool builds and very useful and the new survivour... they are not useful after you rank up past yellow. It's so frustrating to have very meh perks, survivors like ace quint and others do need a rework so that the perks are not just support perks for your main build. Reworking killers is fine but when will the survivors get a rework?

i agree with this heavily, i see so much talk about swf especially and being someone who strictly plays solo it gets old being attacked over things i don't even utilize and don't even participate in

  • Iron Will. I got so used to it early on and I prefer playing injured so now any time I play without Iron Will I feel so vulnerable

I disagree. How does it buy "just" couple extra seconds. If i mind game you at shack or jungle gym for example, then you just deadhard towards the window or a pallet. Then i'm forced to break the extremely safe pallet, therefore reset the whole chase and you move to the next loop. You are now moving with borrowed time.

Because either A. The killer baits your dead hard meaning you bought yourself an extra second or two, or B. You make it to the next loop where you're one shot, and ultimately ends up being a mind game. There's occasions where you'll have great positioning and there's occasions you'll have poor positioning. And I believe if you have good positioning you should be rewarded. I say it buys you "an extra second" because after one good dead hard all the killer needs to do is get right up on you and click M1 without lunging which gives no reaction time. It's super counter-able and against good killers the perk is nearly rendered useless after they've caught on

Let's be honest Deadhard is the strongest exhaustion perk there is. Majority of high rank survivors still use it when apparently it fails 50% of the time. It's problematic perk because it allows you to undo killers mind game just by pressing a button. There is no outplaying deadhard in certain situations

I agree it is the strongest, when it works. But at most it just buys you a couple extra seconds or helps you make a window or pallet for an extra loop or two, by no means would I say it needs to be nerfed or is OP in any way though

  • @Jill10230 said:

Nerve all the killers, okay, now the survivors!

Decisive strike, 4 survivors with decisive strike is boring, and the perk of David (I forgot the name) and William, and many others... no! Enough, stop, the killers have become snails, too many pallets, too many windows + the distant generators stop !

What do you think about it ? Don't tell me "you don't know how to play", if you know how to play it's because you play against randoms, you'll never be able to win against the survivors who know the game and have a microphone !

If anything Dead Hard needs to be fixed not nerfed lmao the amount of times I've been exhausted in the dying state is ridiculous

I didn't noticed that all gens done. Actually it is legit. What else you expect him to do? Checking the gens?

Idk man maybe protect the exit gates and turn a 1k into a 4k, maybe i'm crazy though

  • @kaeru said:

I haven't seen facecampers above rank 15. What rank these killers? Maybe you should change your tactic to gen jockey until you get to higher ranks where killers doesn't play like this?

Believe it or not I'm rank 2 lol the highest ranked killer ill normally get is 5 or 6

Im sorry this happen to you. But this is why I play SWF instead of solo The unknown variable of having a good or bad teammate (mostly bad and unreliable) is just too much for me.

Yeah, it's the risk I take when solo queueing or playing with even just one friend so I can't be too mad. But whenever they talk crap in end game chat afterwards it's like why??

    @999

There are instances that I can think of where, sure, you could absolutely be <bad word> if you don't react within enough time. Like a corner for example. For some reason my reaction time is trash at corners, because I always try to keep going around instead of turning the opposite way for a sec and continuing along that path after.

The sound of his harpoon is basically your queue to move. That's how much time you have.

True, you are able to dodge at certain distances, but most slingers would just wait for the close to mid range shot anyway where you have almost zero time to prepare for. I feel like the reason it's brought up so often is because it's a guessing game.

People, including myself, just find it very un-fun to face him because it seems like no matter how hard you've practiced or all the skill you've acquired, it just doesn't matter at the end of the day and it will always just be a guessing game

Do I think he's OP? No, I don't. But if you asked me who was my least favorite killer to face he'd probably be up there and this is the reason why

  • It's because your survival depends upon his ability to aim. Your skill as a survivor just goes out the window, sure you can juke a bad deathslinger but that isn't anything that you did as a survivor, he just missed. It gets frustrating after a bit and it makes playing against him just completely boring. His shots connect immediately so it gives you no time to react, if he can aim then you're basically done for

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/184784/stretched-res

I know the saying that "cheating is cheating, it could be 3% or 300%" which I mostly agree. However because this is such a controversial topic, this is a rare case I would contradict this saying. I will say that it depends on how much you stretch it. If it's to the point where you don't need to go wide in loops to see the killer from both sides where you wouldn't normally see, yes, that's cheating. But, if it's not to that point, I consider it alright.

I agree with this. Personally I have no "need" to stretch my game. But on most other games I play, I play stretched purely for the look of it. Most people would say it's ugly to look at, which I get. But I'm so used to it and I prefer the wider look of things. I play most other games on 1600x1080 so it isn't much, but to me the game itself and all of the models look much much better, which is preference of course. I have yet to try it out on DBD but I have seen what it looks like, and I can agree that there are some res that do seem over the top. But stretching the game just a tad bit such as 1600x1080 doesn't seem like much of an advantage, if any at all. Ussylis uses this resolution for reference

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1559696#Comment_1559696

But you know you only get HOR+ and you get VER-, right? Usually a FOV slider gives both, I always preferred VER+ that's why I used to have a 21:9 monitor but there no way to get that FOV in dbd

Yes I'm aware, to me it's the stretched look that I prefer. The fov isn't what really interests me. Native 1920x1080 to me looks really narrow since I'm so used to playing stretched on every other game I play. I played stretched on fortnite after the patch which also did not give any extra fov, just widened the game and models a bit. But it seems like a really touchy subject and I may just end up having to bite the bullet and play DBD on native just to avoid any controversy in case I ever decide to stream

  • @Pizzaman said:

It's kind of funny, how people actually think that stretched res is such a big advantage, while they completely ignore that it also comes with big disadvantages.

You gain a tiny bit more vision on a the part of rotation around the X-axis (specifically, moving your camera "up" so you can look "down"), but lose vision rotation around the Y-Axis (left and right). While in theory you should be able to see more when you move your camera up and down, you dont see more stuff if you move your camera down, because you cant see anything if you move your camera down, because of the map floor, you know? So that's not really an advantage.

ALSO. Because of stretched res, you lose vision to the left and to the right. Which is another disadvantage.

    So to sum it up:

    - GOOD: you gain vision when moving your camera up.

    - BAD: you don't gain vision when moving your camera down.

    - BAD: you lose vision to the left

    - BAD: you lose vision to the right

    The downsides outweigh the upsides.

3 downsides for 1 small upside. Yeah, probably the major game changer as it is displayed in this post and also discussed by streamers.

PS: stretched res just looks ugly.

I'm used to playing stretched on other games that I play, it's just preference for me. I brought this to the forums just to see some opinions but it seems to me like a lot of people see it as a sin, but in reality I don't do it for the fov, since most games I play offer the fov sliders. Native to me looks super narrow and as i mentioned it all just comes down to preference as far as im concerned with it. And the way it looks from your post it's actually more of a disadvantage than anything, so I dont know why it's so frowned upon :/

So you do guys like being scared by unexpected Hag traps? Because I have no problems running Mint Rag and Rusty Shackles to jump out and grab you when you're working on a gen or totem >:)

Believe it or not I'd actually rather play against rusty shackles, it's the loud noise and her jumping out of the ground that gets to me xD

I don't know if it's good for you. Try to set audio lower when you go play vs Hag. Unless you enjoy being jumscared.

thank you for the suggestion I might have to try that to save my sanity haha!

  • @MadLordJack said:

Trapper and Hag are literally the scariest killers in the game entirely because of jumpscares and paranoia. How many other killers can say they make survivors terrified to go to a loop?

Yes! haha even stepping on trapper's traps is scary. It's the unexpected loud noise that gets to me lol

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

Hag is one of the few killers that still legit turns me into a schoolgirl. Anytime I don't realise it's her as killer and a trap just bursts out of the ground I lose my man card for the day. The only other killers that do it to me are Myers standing 10 feet away watching me and GF grabbing me from nowhere.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. I feel that! Even after I know it's a hag I'll still act like a little girl for the entirety of the trial and I'll still get scared by her traps even when I'm expecting them πŸ˜… Makes me feel better knowing i'm not alone though hahahaha

  • @csandman1977 said:

I play solo so when i dont know who the killer is and i trigger that first trap i levitate. Then i spend the rest of the game expecting it.

I run spine chill almost all the time so no one else scares me like a hag trap. Well maybe oni because i play solo and know im not escaping that game.

This made me feel a little better lololol. I thought it was just me πŸ˜…

If it makes you feel any better I still cry when playing fnaf.

I'm 10/10 very thankful that Hag doesn't do a zoom in of her face and scream when the traps trigger.

I have trouble with a lot of audio+vusual jumpscares. Seperately they're fine, together they make me a ball of anxious cryingπŸ˜…

    I understand this!

Oddly enough with me being the way I am about getting jump scared (I can't put into words how much I hate being jump scared)

I still enjoy playing scary/horror games. And then I end up hating myself for it whenever it happens πŸ˜…

  • @LSerpentine said:

Haha, can't say I get jumpy when they get triggered, but I do find them incredibly annoying. I always seem to be the one running over them. Makes me wanna cry more than it scares me tbhπŸ˜…
