Hey, sorry for replying late, been trying to do lots of things. Steve is a excellent choice.
Boy do I have a lot of missed replies I need to get to.
I’m a huge fan of Stranger Things and Steve is easily my favorite. Love his transition from preppy jock to mom of the group. Not to mention Joe Keery is a WHOLESOME person IRL.

Out of all the characters from that film, Violet I always thought was pretty damn cool. It was probably one of the only two deaths in that movie that made me genuinely upset to see go.
Violet is a huge fan favorite from Part 5.
Out of all the F13 movies I’ve ALWAYS liked Chris Higgins the best though. She’s so adorable.

Gimme Steve all day every day <3

Mint Rag and MYC Hag would be a great way to try this challenge.
-
I can’t play Nurse or Huntress well so I’m miserable playing them.
I have not played Freddy since his rework because I hate the look of the dreamworld and I find him to be the most boring killer in the game to play as and against.
-
Survivor:
Overrated: Just like everybody else said, Self Care. Wasting a perk slot to heal yourself for an eternity while doing nothing to progress the game is killing your teammates. Go ahead and Self Care in the corner Claudette, I love the fact that you aren’t doing gens. Makes my game as killer that much easier.
Underrated: Alert. Gives you the killers location. Nuff said. Second Wind is also pretty underrated
Killer:
Overrated: Discordance. Let’s you know the next generator that is gonna pop. Sometimes it’s useless. Also gives very annoying notifications. I hate this perk.
Underrated: MINDBRE...sorry I mean Surveillance. It is very useful against immersed survivor who hide when they hear the heartbeat and crouch in bushes. Let’s you know when they touch the generator again giving you a que to go back. Very great perk.

There is more pressing gameplay issues at the moment and Spirit isn’t as viable as she was before.
Sounds are completely screwed and survivors basically have Iron Will (though it isn’t equipped) because a lot of the time they make ZERO injured moans or footsteps which makes Spirit’s role a lot harder since she relies heavily on sound.
She’s also bugged because she has no post phase lunge.
She’s just a complete mess. I haven’t seen much of her. There isn’t much complains about Spirit because of game breaking bugs that have happen in this last patch, players wanting Oni nerfs, sounds breaking, etc...
She’s still powerful but not as great as she should be.
-
Hell yeah. Let’s nerf Clown. Nurse who? Spirit who? Clown is a SWF destroyer. Clearly the most OP killer.

Just checked thé Patch Notes of the 2.6.0 PTB:
- The Plague can infect the exit switch by vomiting on the exit doors
Seems like I had it wrong in my mind. However, are you sure that the Survivor gets infected, or that the Exit Switch is just green and slimy when an infected Survivor is touching it?
(I never infected Exit Gate Switches with Plague and never got infected on them; so I dont know)
They definitely get infected because I use it to get a bit more map pressure out of Plague when guarding doors. If the survivor is uninfected and they touch the exit gate switch, they get the green aura around their HUD so I immediately know to rush back to the exit gate I puked on.
It’s just like touching any other infected object.
-
Red ranks queues for killer for me are max 30 seconds. Survivor is much longer at about 5-8 minutes.
I’ve heard brown ranks queues are awful though.
-
@FriendlyGuy Making Spirit harder to play? That would be fine if she wasn’t already tripled nerfed.
- Her add-ons were nerfed. Collision was removed and she got a vault animation.
- She is broken because she gets zero lunge out of her power.
- Sounds are bugged which is a BIG kick in the gut to Spirit since she heavily relies on sound. I run Stridor and one minute I’ll hear them loud and clear then all of a sudden I hear zero sound and no footsteps. Basically everyone has free Iron Will. Slugs also make no sound. I was BHVR’ed countless times yesterday because I couldn’t hear a thing when I should’ve been able to hear their injured moans and footsteps.
I’m not saying Spirit still isn’t a good killer, she’s just not as viable as she should he due to her power being bugged and sounds being bugged as well. She’s already harder to play due to all the bugs. If the game was in a good place I’d be more for making her have a larger skill cap but it’s just not worth it at this point in the game.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Nope, Exit Gate Switches cannot become infected. They were for a while (I think only on PTB), but that was a Bug.
Actually they do get infected. It’s how I know if a survivor touches an exit gate when moving back and forth between the gates during the EGC. I know this for a fact because I main Plague. They get infected just like any other interaction.
-
I just realized I put this in the lore section. Welp...I’m braindead
-
Grim Pantry and Disturbed Ward are calling on the other line. If I never get Pantry again I’ll be a happy day.
I even believe that structures like Ironworks and Groaning Storehouse are worse.
The school is terrible and I avoid the school as much as I can but it’s not the worst by FAR.

Ghostface is meta at high ranks? I never see him outside purple ranks except on a rare occasion. I see more Clowns at red rank then Ghostface.
I see quite a bit of variety at red rank anymore. Billy isn't as great due to the influx of indoor maps. Rarely see him.
I wish. Ghostface is basically all I see at red ranks.
-
@Blueberry said:
It's difficult because the average survivor is just really bad.
We need to balance for the high ranks but they're worried about all the lower ranks. This is why I think we should have scaling difficulty IE gens take less time at lower ranks and more time at higher ranks. I don't mean literal gen time as this is just an example, but you get my point in general.
There also comes a point where you just need to put the challenge there and make the survivors adapt and improve to overcome. Were at a time where instead of improving to overcome the challenge we'll just go to the forums and complain until the devs lower the killers bar to where they're at, no need to improve.
Most games balance from the top down to prevent the issues we are having now because they're not.
If the average survivor is really bad then why should the game be balanced around high rank gameplay?
I absolutely agree that the average survivor is not that great. I also believe that the average SWF group is not that great as well. I can beat most teams with Plague (my main killer) but if I get a really good team who split gens and are effective at surviving a chase then most likely I lose. That’s few and far between though. Most of my survivors are potatoes.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, I like the idea of scaling the difficulty depending on ranks.
As you said it’s difficult to find balance. I just think it’ll drive newer players away if the game is balanced around survivors who know what they’re doing especially if they’re in an SWF group with their high rank friends.

Blood Echo just does not feel worth.
Agreed. If it didn’t have a cooldown it would be a bit more viable.
-
Legion is such a terrible killer but Blood Echo and Thanatophobia will work well on them because players tend to want to stay injured against Legion.
This combo would work better on Plague though since players stay sick against her and she’s a hell of a lot stronger than Legion.
-
@PistolTimb said:
What rank are you? Legion is an awful killer but there is some potential synergy there, if you can proc the mangled. Blood Echo is decent on plague but for most killers it's not too helpful (except maybe nurse, since Dead Hard is so strong against her).
Spirit's lunge was nerfed tremendously btw. It's supposedly been overnerfed due to a bug, but it's still a major nerf either way. Not that I think it destroys her. With recovery addons and stridor it isn't even a problem.
She still has a speed boost out of phase though. I used the purple and green post-phase speed boost add-ons to test it and she still has a her speed boost. It’s just different. She doesn’t have a lunge though. Wherever you stop the speed boost she will do a regular lunge and stop the speed boost.
I know that sounds confusing.

I alternate between a lot of characters. I play all the female characters quite frequently. I also play Steve and Dwight quite a bit.
First character I played was Meg though. I guess I connected with her because we have a similar style.

Spirit = Spirit Fury.
Damn. I’m an idiot. Sorry about that.
I do agree that players develop bad habits due to perks. Fundamentally they’re still “good players” but become reliant on certain perks. Even when I play Spirit I’ve become a bit reliant on Stridor since I run into a lot of Iron Will. Since sound is broken this patch basically everybody has free Iron Will.
-

I mean, you're incorrectly calling me a hypocrite, why would I not be defensive?
I'm not telling people to run stuff like monstrous shrine etc but people get so attached to ruin, so when it breaks, they forget they have to check gens more often, they pick survivors up immediately instead of stopping the survivors on the gen next to them.
Or they get attached to spirit for the easy hit, so when a survivor starts dropping pallets early they have no idea how to play the loop because they're so often given that easy hit
Or they run pop, and get so used to only kicking gens when it's active they stop kicking gens mostly and only when pop is active.
etc etc
Ruin is only good for early game. If I get one or two hooks before it breaks then that is all I need. Can’t expect it to last forever. All it’s really supposed to do is help you apply pressure early and keep survivors from popping gens quickly
So I guess Spirit is a perk now XD. I mean...Spirit is one killer I’ve played a lot of. If you start “running loops” with Spirit then you aren’t playing correctly anyways. Most of your hits should come from “Grudge” hits. You should never be running loops with Spirit.
I don’t use Pop, like ever. I don’t like stopping to kick a gen while in mid chase.
Some players can develop bad habits from perks though so I see where you are coming from.

What are you even talking about? How is what I said even close to hypocritical? You clearly don't understand what the word means, saying people rely on something and then YOU saying "Well survivors rely on these" does not in any miniscule amount of the word make me a hypocrite, lmao.
You clearly don't understand the point that I'm making, I'm not even complaining about anyone using the perks, all I'm saying is that game has gotten to a point where killers put on these perks, and then when they don't have them, they play badly, and blame it on imbalance, instead of playing without the perks, and getting better without them, so when they do get destroyed or they don't have them equipped there playstyle isn't' so reliant on it.
Youre absolutely missing the point and arguing for nothing.
" BUT WAIT THE SURVIVOR USE..." etc ok lmao.
Yoooo....you’re getting a little bit too defensive my dude.
I most likely read the post the wrong way the first time. It happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The game is the point where the game is circled around a few perks (like Ruin, Pop, BBQ, DS, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, etc). What do you really expect players are gonna being in? Monstrous Shrine and Deja Vu? Or perkless?
I get what you’re saying about “getting better without perks” but that’s simply not going to be the case against players at your skill level. Playing as Wraith without meta perks isn’t going to be fun or go over well against players who are just as experienced and good as you are. You can beat up Rank 15’s all day but going in as Wraith without good perks is going to be hell in red ranks ESPECIALLY going against the meta survivor perks.
-
Legion and Ghostface have a cooldown and passively get their power.
Myers and Oni have to work a lot longer to get their power and have to manually get their power. It’s not on a cooldown.
Plague relies on survivors to give her a powerful ability. She has to play safe around pallets or she loses it. I’d say it’s a pretty fair trade off since Corrupt Purge is one of the more powerful abilities.

Because I don't have to say it? I did have to say it for killer to give context for my paragraph that I had written, I really don't understand why you make it seem like I have to ALSO say survivor rely on their perks too when I wasn't talking about survivors.
"DS isn’t an “anti-tunnel” perk like players make it out to be. It’s “I’m invincible for a minute” perk. You can hook another survivor and run into a guy you hooked 50 seconds ago and get DS in the face. Darn, guess I tunneled. Or either I’m that damn good that I can down multiple survivors within a minute."
Ok? Did I specifically say it was an anti-tunnel perk? Not at all, like you said "players make it out to be", I don't. Additionally, I don't think you understand what "invincible" means, killers love slugging but when you tell them to use it to counter DS for some reason they have issue with it as a tactic, it's hilarious. Slugging applies just as much pressure as hooking does.
Dead Hard is bad if you use it to bait a hit. It’s the best exhaustion perk if you use it to make up distance in a loop. Gaining you more distance and more time to waste. Especially if you have a strong structure like the main building on Torment Creek.
Again, doesn't work 90% of the time, I can't count the amount of times I used dead hard to gain distance just to end up on the floor exhausted anyway. Dead hard is also seeing less and less use anyway because of ho janky it is.
Little known fact for you...sometimes you can’t avoid Adrenaline because the map is Ormond and I’m playing Clown against a good group with three commodious toolboxes. You just get those matches where it is impossible to even do anything. Yet if I were to play Spirit with an ebony I’d get hate :/
Ok? Why does this always happen, I have a discussion with someone and then they always do the "insert super specific scenario that happened personally to me as proof of this perk being XYZ"
and I definitely don't make it out like it's easy to 4K, I don't even aim for 4Ks when I play killer, I am for fun because I'm totally over the being rank 1 every season because ranking is irrelevant, you can have one bad game as killer and be deranked, no other game does this, therefore, for me rank is the most irrelevant thing ever, and so are kills. I do still 4K most of my matches though but that's what happens when you don't rely on ruin and actually play well.
Specifically talking about killers relying on “crutch perks” is super hypocritical if you don’t bring up the other side is all I’m saying.
I don’t get the point of bashing other players for using perks they have and then calling them out for using perks like Ruin or Pop just because YOU don’t use them. If you can have fun without them then cool, you do that. Doesn’t mean others are the same way.
Rank is pointless, yes. I don’t want to be at red ranks every season either.
I don’t want to HAVE to use Ruin but it’s easily the best gen slowdown perk. I mainly play Plague, a killer with zero map pressure. If I don’t run it then three gens will just pop back ti back to back. It can be crucial for early game with all survivors are healthy and uninjured. Just giving you an idea on why I use Ruin.
I also play on console so I do get cucked out of a lot of hits due to framedrops and lower sensitivity. Not a pleasant experience to play on console. I also play for fun but it’s not very fun when your games last four minutes. Guess I’m bad for using Ruin :/

Sorry, can you quote the bit where I specifically complained about killers using certains perks? or do you mean the bit where I say killers rely heavily on those perks and when they don't have them, they don't do as well because they rely on them too much?
Yes yes yes, "second chance perks" etc etc terrifying, little known fact is adrenaline doesn't even pop if you kill the survivor, ds is very avoidable, and dead hard is just about the worst exhaustion perk at this point, 90% of the time it doesn't work, its very easy to bait out especially when you have seen the survivor has used it earlier, iron will is a second chance perk? lmfao
Killer is definitely pretty easy, and it is definitely the easiest it has ever been.
Why would you say killers heavily rely on these perks when survivors also heavily rely on their perks? Both sides kinda rely on perks quite a bit.
DS isn’t an “anti-tunnel” perk like players make it out to be. It’s “I’m invincible for a minute” perk. You can hook another survivor and run into a guy you hooked 50 seconds ago and get DS in the face. Darn, guess I tunneled. It’s not hard for killer to seem easy when comparing it to times of insta-heals, old DS, old BNP, and old infinities. Of course killer is easier than it was in the past but it’s still not an EASY role to play against an optimal group of survivors. You’re acting as though it’s a guarantee 4K every single time.

You're kidding, right?
Killer has never been as easy as it is right now, people just refuse to get better, they rely on their ruin/pop/spirit fury and then basically give up the match when it's gone or they don't have it on, citing there is no way to "win" without it.
To assume killers would leave now, when the game is at it's easiest is ridiculous.
SWF is fine, solo is far too hard right now on survivor side, you see people talking about how they get stomped as solo all the time, you see killers complain about "SWF" all the time, but I've also seen killers say I'm SWF when I play solo so a lot of those threads I chose to ignore because too many killer assume SWF when they get beaten, which in turn leads them to get angrier and angrier about SWF when they don't even really know if it was SWF or a decent set of solo players.
You really can’t complain about killers needing “crutch perks” like Ruin/Pop/Spirit Fury etc...when survivors will use THEIR meta perks like Adrenaline, Iron Will, Unbreakable, DS, Dead Hard, etc. You know, all the perks to give you a second chance. Killer is not “easy” when you could upwards of four players running second chance perks.
I play both sides pretty frequently and I don’t have an issue with what perks the other side is running. Just deal with it and move on. It’s not that hard or serious. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I can hook somebody across the map and down another survivor and still get DS in the face. I’ve also come to terms with the fact that my game can end in two minutes because a killer brought a mori. You’ll forget about your bad rounds after a couple of other rounds.
SWF are just friends playing together. Some are sweaty, some are not. Some are good and some are potatoes. I don’t see why people complain about it.

It wouldn’t be prayer beads, he already had a noise when he starts to teleport so anyone could immediately start looking around.
I’m just giving a reason why Demo has all of these audible cues. He has the audible teleporting cue and loud footsteps because they want to avoid players complaining about having “no audio cues”.
As I said before though...Demo should have his SFX turned down quite a bit. His footsteps are way too loud. I don’t get the point of having the “Undetectable” status effect when you can hear him coming from a mile away.

maybe if solo surv was viable then we wouldn’t need SWF. 4 solos= guaranteed killer win at high ranks.
nice try with that double standard though..
That doesn’t make sense? I would much rather go against an average SWF than four good solo survivors. Doesn’t matter if they have comms or not, if they’re bad then it’s not hard to deal with them. Plus most SWF groups are extremely altruistic and throw themselves at the killer.
If all four solo survivors know what they’re doing then it isn’t a “guaranteed killer win”.

You are right, that Ormond can be very hard. But well... I am a environment design victim there.
As said before, the snow... The house... Would love to make there holidays sometimes :).
If they would have a proper kitchen, sanitars and a internet connection and also some beds^^.
Most maps they’ve released have been beautifully designed. Yamaoka is gorgeous, but I liked the original Yamaoka better on the Spirit’s PTB. It had an orange sky and looked so much better.
Ormond is definitely my favorite map aesthetically. It’s refreshing to see something different like snow over the basic grass/corn setups.
I wish they did an actual desert style map for Plague rather than the Red Forest biome.
Hawkins is great and the laboratory is well done. I’m a huge fan on Stranger Things so I love that map design. Just don’t care for it gameplay wise. If there was a gamemode I could just walk around and explore, Hawkins would be the first map I’d pick.
Just a shame that they are a pain to play on as killer most of the time :/
-
I can’t even tell the Badham maps apart from each other. If somebody asked me to tell one difference between #3 and #5 I couldn’t tell you. I can only point out the original Badham #1 from the bunch.
I don’t see anything wrong with MacMillan or Autohaven variants. Coldwind I agree though. Those maps are painful.
-
I see it more as “Let’s have it so EVERYBODY can get to Rank 1”. It’s not going to be hard to get to red ranks (it already wasn’t hard) but every potato is going to be able to get to red ranks.
-
Because the devs don’t want another Prayer Beads Spirit situation where you have zero audio cue that the killer is coming. That’s why Demogorgon has an audible cue that he is teleporting and has very loud footsteps. Same with other killers. Freddy has blood that comes from the generator when teleporting. Ghostface’s robe flaps. Myers has loud breathing. Pig has an audible roar before dashing. Wraith has to uncloak first, etc...
However I do believe that Demogorgon’s audio cues should be toned down a bit, even from the killer’s perspective. Demo has extremely loud footsteps that even he can’t hear survivor footsteps over his own. His SFX should be quieter on both the killer and survivors perspective.
-
She was never dead?

I love Ormont, even if everybody is saying that it is survivor sided.
I just like snow and I love the Legion. How could I dislike this map?
But I hate maps that have too high gras. Like those Yama-whatever maps and the swamp map. If Spirit was a love note to the killer community, then those 2 map settings are a love note to the stealth faction of the survivor community^^.
The cornfield maps on the other hand are ok imo. You can still see people between the corn - most of the time.
Ormond is a beautiful map aesthetically, but it is a pain to play as killer. I would rather play on Haddonfield than Ormond. Survivors KNOW that Ormond is one of...if not THE strongest survivor map because I’ve had so many players burn Ormond offerings. Ever since the Balanced Landing change I have to say Ormond is the strongest survivor map. Haddonfield isn’t even bad, it was only bad with BL.
Yamaoka is terrible as well. Mainly because they change it to be super dark. I hated it before now I hate it more than any other map.
Corn maps are doable but I’m corn-blind as hell. Also depends on which one you get. The order I’d put them in from most painful to least painful is Thompson House - Fractured Cowshed - Rotten Fields - Rancid Abattoir - Torment Creek
-
I hate Springwood. I spawned in and saw 6 pallets within eye distance. I hate dealing with over 20 pallets even if they are all unsafe and able to be dealt with through bloodlust.
I dislike Springwood as both survivor and killer. I also tend to get Springwood A LOT.
-
Sadly she doesn’t have one. I use the Withered Blight headpiece. I think that headpiece looks the best with the Rift Hag outfit
-
Easily killer. You are constantly chasing and having to apply pressure and chase four different survivors.
As a survivor you have much more downtime because you’re not always in a chase with the killer.
However, some killers are more stress to play than others. Playing Leatherface is going to be MUCH more stressful than playing as Spirit. I’m rarely stressed when playing Spirit. That’s my “stress-free” killer.
With killer you have four different players to face. With survivor you only have one, unless your teammates are terrible.
-
Four commodious toolboxes is the worst thing a killer can face. Anyone can hold down M1 and fix a generator extremely fast with their toolbox, Ruin or not.
Flashlights have counters. Run Lightborn. Look into a wall. Be aware of if a survivor is around you. Plus a lot of four man flashlight squads are following you around to get their cheeky saves. Which means they aren’t doing generators.
If I were to dodge a group it would be a 4 man toolbox group. Only time I’d dodge flashlights is if I was playing Hag, but I would just switch to another killer instead of dodging anyways.
Many groups that run four toolboxes play super boring and rush the hell out of generators. There is no fun in those groups.
Toolboxes means they are cutting the game in half. Flashlights means they aren’t doing objectives.

Ghostface is definitely top tier. Wraith I don't think is without add-ons that remove ability to know hes uncloaking etc.
How is Ghostface top tier? He’s a solid killer but in no way can he compete with the likes of Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Hag, or Oni who are all top tier killers. He’s probably the best stealth killer but not a top tier killer.
-
I used to play F13 A LOT with my friend group and it was a great time. The game started to slowly die so I jumped over to DBD and convinced all of them to buy it as well. Took a while as I joined in March 2018 and they didn’t join until July 2018 (pretty sure the BBQ event).
The reason I joined was one reason. Michael Myers. I’ve always loved Myers and wanted a video game for Myers. If it wasn’t for Myers I probably wouldn’t have joined DBD as soon as I did. That’s why I believe licensed chapters are beneficial because it’ll bring in players because they see their favorite horror icon.

They aren’t that nasty, on the contrary actually, Clown is the easiest killer to run.
I wouldn’t say Clown is the EASIEST killer to run. If they aren’t throwing their bottles all willy nilly then it can be somewhat effective. I’d say Leatherface is the easiest to run. Poor guy has nothing going for him in a chase, at least Clown has the potential to be annoying. Doctor is also easy to run around.
I would say Clown is the most BORING to be chased by though. I almost fall asleep.
-
Already happens, it’s called auto-aim and frame drops.

Because Tru3Tal3nt said so. When a very popular streamer states their opinion on something, people are bound to follow and agree with them.
Tru3 is a great killer. I just don’t agree with his tier list. Ghostface is not #3 and Wraith is FAR from #4. No way he can compete with the likes of Nurse and Spirit.
Wraith is not a bad killer WITH add-ons. With his strongest add-ons he is on the lower end of mid-tier. Without add-ons he is not great. He’s slow while cloaked and has no map pressure.
There is just too many killers in mid-tier for there to be room for Bing Bong.

yes but even compared to Nea, who is one of the OGs and is a highly played character, she has less.
Nea has a new outfit almost as frequently as Meg. Meg already had a BUNCH of cosmetics before the store was a thing.
Nea and Meg both have a new cosmetic coming this month. Nea just had a skater outfit release.
Meg has the most cosmetics of any character in the game because she’s one of the OG 4 and one of the most highly played characters. That’s pretty much the reason why.
-
Same reason Claudette, Dwight, and Nea have so many outfits. People play them the most. Almost every batch of cosmetics will have a cosmetic for those four.
It also helps that Meg is one of the original four survivors and she is a free character so it is much easier to give her cosmetics because more people will buy them because EVERYBODY has her as a character. It’s easier to give cosmetics to Meg than it would be Jeff which not everybody owns. This also goes for Dwight and Claudette as well. Not sure why but Jake seems like the lesser of the original four characters.
