Billy doesn't need add-ons, but he feels bad without them to me. I like having more uses of his chainsaw in chase, and I think that that's something that could be transferred to basekit when he gets his add-on rework.

When you get used to a killer using a certain add-on, they feel bad to play without it. Example is that I use cooldown on Plague and the shorter phase activation charge on Spirit. I don’t believe either Plague or Spirit NEED add-ons to be viable but I hate playing without those two add-ons.

I don’t play or like Billy but I hope he gets his bugs fixed soon and gets an add-on rework soon as well.

  • I go through phases where I enjoy killer more than survivor and vice versa. Sometimes I get anxious when playing killer (usually the first match) but I enjoy it.

Some matches are more enjoyable than others but you win some and you lose some ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I thought freddy is the least add-on dependent killer? As he doesn't have good add-ons to begin with..

Freddy doesn’t have good add-ons? His ultra-rares are pretty good at keeping survivors in the dream world and the slowdown add-ons are pretty much what every Freddy runs. He doesn’t have extremely stupidly strong add-ons like Huntress and Billy but he has good add-ons

I counter with Spirit, Freddy, and Hillbilly. You can tell if a killer is add on dependent by their brown add ons imo.

Billy definitely doesn’t need add-ons nor does Freddy. Billy, Huntress, and Freddy are the three least add-on dependent killers in the game, I just think Huntress is the least add-on dependent. Probably because I watch Umbra a lot and she doesn’t use add-ons on Huntress so I’m used to no add-on Huntress.

Spirit is not add-on dependent but she is significantly weaker without add-ons. Her power is so much better when you have add-ons. I would argue that at base-kit Billy is probably stronger than Spirit but when you put on add-ons Spirit is way stronger.

When you have add-ons Spirit can apply map pressure and chase potential and overall have much higher potential but without add-ons she can only do one of these things.

Against a good team a Spirit without add-ons will lose because she can’t pressure the map and have chase potential.

  • Huntress is probably the least add-on dependent killer in the entire game. She’s one of the better killers that can dominate if the player is good with Huntress.

She’s only good if you’re comfortable with Huntress. You have to get used to her before you start playing her well. Probably the hardest killer to learn besides Nurse. It’s easier if you’re used to FPS games.

Y’all this is @GrootDude favorite outfit for Meg. Every time we are in a SWF I HAVE to use this Meg outift. Just gotta give the people what they want 😎

  • Most players who complain about the strong killers (Spirit and Freddy mainly) are just jumping on the hate train and don’t formulate their own opinions about the killers but would rather piggy-back on what popular streamers opinions are.

  • My least favorite will forever and always be Yamaoka. I can’t even begin to explain my dislike for that map.

  • The bottom floor of the Game map is very dark. A Claudette legit vanished before my eyes in the bottom floor. I couldn’t even physically see her, I had to track her solely by sound.

  • Just put the map on Strode, Badham, or Asylum and fall off one of the buildings. That is a safe bet.

  • I love all of them but my favorite is probably Demogorgon followed closely by Clown. Clown’s music just reminds me of happier times when I was still new to the game and had no clue what I was doing. It’s a bit nostalgic.

  • A239437B-D791-4361-BAD8-D0EC5D6542C6.jpeg

I was told I played scummy just for playing Doc.

  • Wraith isn’t a bad killer and he is one of the easiest killers to pip with. He’s just very reliant on his add-ons.

He’s a decent killer and nobody is arguing that he is a bad killer, but it doesn’t make him better than a majority of the roster that just flat out have better powers that help them in a chase. All Wraith has going for him is that he can go invisible and get an easy first hit while other killers have powers that actually help in a chase.

  • It should be automatic to eliminate the possibility of dying to to a lag spike. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve died on struggle phase because of an in-game lag spike.

  • No. What’s the point of ruining somebody’s day? It’s just a rude thing to do.

  • Stealth gameplay is so boring. The exciting part of playing survivor is the chases with the killer, not hiding in bushes and crossing your fingers that they don’t see you. It’s also not exciting to run around and not find immersed survivors for three minutes.

Things like losing a killer in chase due to perks like Quick and Quiet/Dance with Me and actually being able to evade a killer without just crouching in the corner of the map is fine though, but immersed Blendettes on Yamaoka who crouch in the bamboo? *Resident sleeper*

Some changes like darker maps, quieter survivor sounds, louder killer breathing, etc...is just unnecessary to me personally.

    I snooze....

  • It was fixed

    • “Fixed an issue that caused the end of match music to persist between trials.“

My point is you're wrong 😉

You made up a conversation that translates into jason using bear traps as an ability for dbd..no one said that.

They are indeed similar. If you can't wrap your mind around it idk what to tell ya, kid.

The fact that you said “Other then a built in mori, with dbd limits In mind what could Jason's powers be to make him a fun killer and diverse from trapper“ insinuating that you think he can’t be diverse from Trapper both aesthetic and power wise and I gave you all the reasons I believe he is VERY diverse from Trapper.

Even going so for as to dig up his bear traps from F13 the Game with has nothing to with DBD or what Jason ACTUALLY did in his movies.

I don’t believe anybody is “right or wrong”. It’s just a discussion but apparently you’re too worried about being the correct one.

Maybe similar to YOU but they aren’t to everybody.

And the fact that you end it with “kid” trying to demean somebody like you’re some kind of big shot is honestly laughable and pathetic boo.

@Bloodwebs yeah Ok buddy. In NO WAY close.

    @MegMain98 mmhmm

@Bovinity again if you do not read my post or the discussion at hand please don't reply kid, ty.

What’s your point? I played the F13 game for over a thousand hours before playing DBD. I know he used bear traps, but the gameplay on that game is different than DBD.

The killer has one main power on DBD and in F13 the main killer IS Jason who has multiple powers and bear traps just added an extra layer to him to make him stronger. It was needed to make the objectives more dangerous for the counselors to complete so they did immediately fix the car or the phone box. It was for gameplay purposes not because it cannon to the movie series.

Doesn’t change the fact that his power (if he was ever added) should NOT ever be trap related and that he only used a trap one time in the actual movies.

When I think “how does Jason Voorhees kill his victims” I think either with a machete or with his bare hands in a unique way...not a bear trap.

I don’t see how Trapper and Jason are even comparable other than them looking very slightly similar.

  • Please. I’m begging BHVR. PLEASE change Yamaoka’s lighting back to the way it was.m before the Oni patch. Why do we need Yamaoka to be that damn dark?

The bottom floor of the Game map is also way too dark. Claudette will vanish into thin air on that map.

  • It’s annoying to face as a low mobility killer but I see it so rarely that it’s not worth complaining about.

Personally I love seeing OoO when playing Spirit, it gives me their general location and they can’t see me while I phase. Spirit knowing your location is the last thing you want.

Getting free information on the killer’s every move is a bit broken but if it is a perk you wanna use then go for it. It’s fun to use. I don’t see it as toxic, it’s a perk.

  • @Feiten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271114#Comment_1271114

I mean you can sit and tell me they are different all day long but in the end even in your post the only thing different is the powers. So going off your post 90% of trapper is already jason.

So please again enlighten me. Other then a built in mori, with dbd limits In mind what could Jason's powers be to make him a fun killer and diverse from trapper.

    I'll wait.

So because Trapper was loosely based from Jason that means Trapper is Jason? Is Billy also Leatherface? Or is Spirit also Samara? Legion, Ghostface, and Myers all have white masks, are they the same.

They are ONLY similar aesthetic wise and even that is a big stretch. Trapper has a mask (like half the roster of the killers) and a machete which is basically the only similarities those two share.

You’re asking the most uncreative person in the world what Jason’s power would be. Off the top of my head I can’t think of anything, but again...I’m not creative.

My point is that Trapper is not and never will be Jason, ever. Jason could definitely have a power that is diverse from Trapper (seeing how Jason has only ever used traps one time over the entire span of his movies).

Jason is still wanted by many people and even the devs themselves. I do understand your point though about coming up with a unique power that isn’t already existing. I wouldn’t want them to screw up Jason either.

  • @Feiten said:

I honestly don't care too much for Jason imo trapper fills his role quite well if not infact he seems to be molded with Jason in mind.

All he is really missing is a hockey mask. And as far as abilities go Jason could somewhat teleport. That's really the only difference.

Yes, Trapper is based on Jason aesthetic wise, but he doesn’t fill the role of Jason because their powers would not be similar in the slightest. Jason only used bear traps in one of his movies and that was the 2009 remake. He always killed people in unique ways and didn’t need a bear trap. When you think of bear traps and slasher villains, you don’t think of Jason Voorhees. They both wear a mask, use a machete, and are big imposing figures but that is where the similarities end.

I’m pretty sure they took inspiration from Samara (The Ring) when making Spirit but that doesn’t mean down the line that Samara isn’t a possibility. Billy and Leatherface are another prime example.

Think of all the unique ways that Jason killed his victims and then look at Trapper’s power and especially his mori. Do you think that really does Jason Voorhees justice?

If ANYBODY were to fill Jason’s role, it would be Myers not Trapper. I would still love Jason though since alongside Myers, he is the most infamous slasher icon.

  • Who cares if the killer lobby dodges? It doesn’t affect the survivors since dedicated servers were implemented.

I wouldnt put deathslinger above gf. GF, even if he doesnt mark people, can get the drop on them by just masking his TR. Deathslinger takes forever to down someone. His power only helps him if people don't know how to dodge or blindly run to windows. He has to land a shot, reel them in and hit them. Then he has to hit them again. Also deathslinger is slow. GF can sneak up on someone, land a hit before the chase even begins. Half the work is done already.

I consider deathslinger to be Huntress's version of bubba. Better off playing the real deal and not the copycat.

Ghostface is a killer that doesn’t have a power half the time. His power is that he can sneak up on survivors given two circumstances, it’s an indoor map or the survivors are unaware of their surroundings. Alert survivors are gonna hear him coming and are always moving their camera around. Not to mention his reveal mechanic is SUPER buggy and sometimes work for him and sometimes against him. It is not consistent.

Ghostface is like Wraith. He can get an easy early hit but he has no anti-loop ability. He’s gonna get looped easy unlike Deathslinger.

Plus Deathslinger is basically a semi-stealth killer with M&A giving him an easy early hit and able to deal with loops way easier than Ghostface ever could.

I actually believe Deathslinger is better than Huntress, given that the player is good with Deathslinger. Huntress has a clear indication on when she is winding up a hatchet giving the survivor plenty of reaction time. Deathslinger has instant “Aim Down Sights” and gives the survivors NO indication on if he is shooting or not if he quick scopes. Meaning he is basically walking around as a Huntress with a fully charged hatchet at normal speed. It’s better than old machine gun hatchet Huntress.

Deathslinger is good at a 1V1 chase but sucks at snowballing.

You must be going against bad Deathslingers because any good Deathslinger is going to win every chase quickly. He does not take long to down survivors.

Deathslinger is D tier. And Ghostface is A tier wym?

“Deathslinger is D tier” that’s funny.

Deathslinger is FAR from D tier and is clearly better than Ghostface.

Ghostface is B tier at the very best.

  • Because we’re immune to the scare factor of the game after thousands of hours of gameplay. It’s not going to be scary after you’ve seen the same thing thousands of times over and over again on repeat.

Things like Myers and Ghostface grabbing off of a gen or a Hag trap can jumpscare you but the game itself won’t be scary anymore after playing it for so long.

All horror games/movies are the exact same way. Are you scared after seeing the same slasher movie 100 times?

Except the powers jason actually has is teleport walking, brute force, and immortality.

So without all the traps and setups hes just really boring. You expect the DBD devs to impliment environmental situational abilities for a killer? Trapper is almost definitely their version or jason. Mask. Machete. Strength. Traps.

Yeah...and what about Michael? Isn’t his powers basically the same thing? Except he is even more immortal than Jason since Myers has NEVER died and Jason died in Part 4 to Jarvis. So no...Jason is not immortal at least until Part 6.

As I said...Trapper is loosely based on Jason aesthetic wise but Jason used traps ONCE in the entire franchise and that was in the remake. How is Trapper’s power ANYTHING like what Jason did in his movies? If anything Jason’s power would be based more around the stalking killer that can walk around with no terror radius, not Trapper. It would be boring to have another stalking killer but I would give them the benefit of the doubt to find a way to creatively make him unique.

The devs have already stated that Jason would have an open invitation in the game if they could ever get legal rights. What would his power be? I dunno, beats me. It still doesn’t change the fact that if they could ever get Jason in the game they would jump on that faster than a fat man seeing a birthday cake.

Plague needs some changes. Her stupid strong Corrupt Purge needs Nerfs (but should still be a viable tool) and she needs better access to it by giving the Survivors reasons to cleanse. Something like old Freddys Slowdown - you want to get rid of it, but if needed, you can finish your almost finished Gen.

This would also help her Add Ons, because basically everything which involves Corrupt Purge is either useless or a gamble, because you might not get any use out of it (except for that one Fountain). Besides the apples, of course.

And stuff like Vile Purge effectiveness is also useless once everyone is broken.

Plague’s Corrupt Purge lasts a minute, is buggy, sometimes phases through a survivor, AND is gone if she gets stunned. It’s just a weaker version of Oni’s Blood Fury.

She only has one pool if survivors don’t cleanse (unless she brings in apples). You can hide and wait out her Corrupt Purge. You can break line of sight or crouch behind cover at certain loops. Of course if you’re out in the open then you are dead like with most killers.

I normally agree with most of your posts but I wanna know how on earth is Corrupt Purge overpowered when it has a bunch of counters?

  • ADS means “Aim Down Sights” which is basically how fast he can pull up his gun and aim. It’s almost instant as the survivors have very little indication of when he is pulling up his gun when he quick scopes so that’s why they’ll bob and weave constantly and lose distance trying to dodge his shots.

  • I haven’t been getting stuck in stairs and while vaulting but I got stuck in a pallet after I hit somebody while they were pallet camping. FeelsBadMan

  • All of them of pretty enjoyable to play.

Oni is probably the most enjoyable with the best results. Flying about the map in Blood Fury is so fun.

    Demogorgon is also very enjoyable.

Deathslinger is about as difficult as Huntress is but you have to be much more precise. He has instant ADS so if you can quick scope well then he shouldn’t be an issue. He has VERY low sensitivity when moving his gun so quick scoping is the best option.

But what people fail to realize is that Jason rarely used traps in his movies. He snuck up on people and killed them in unique ways. The only time I can recall him using a bear traps was in the 2009 remake.

You could train yourself on a bike using rocks taped to sticks, doesn't make those rocks training wheels. A training wheel makes it so you move faster and your bike doesn't fall over. Rocks and sticks barely do either, but do ease the experience a little.

I’m not saying Spirit isn’t a pretty straightforward killer to learn but if she’s considered “training wheels” then a majority of the killers in the game would also be considered “training wheels”.

Spirit isn’t complicated but she is one of the more complicated ones since she is 110%, relies on her power heavily for downs, has to actually know how to track survivors properly, and is more difficult when survivors are actually good and running perks like Iron Will. She’s not noob-friendly, you have to actually be a good killer to be good with Spirit. An experienced killer player won’t have issues but mediocre/average killer players will struggle.

I think she’s fine the way she is personally. I just never have any complaints when facing a Spirit, then again I always run Iron Will.

I guess you could say that. Are you surprised? Low tiers are low tiers for good reason.

You do know that a majority of the killer roster are “noob-friendly” and simple to play right?

  • So basically the top tier killers that aren’t Nurse and Huntress are training wheels? Darn.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265141#Comment_1265141

You didn't explain why she isn't literally training wheels. She's easy and has good results. Training wheels by definition.

And why are you bitching about it even if she is easy to play? As I said MOST killers are easy to play.

Easy and has good results. So is Freddy. Is he training wheels? Billy is simple to use and gets good results. Is he also training wheels?

Is Spirit was “easy to play” and was “training wheels” then a yellow rank could pick her up and play well on their first match playing as her. And most Spirit’s I see struggle. You know why? Because I’ve played enough Spirit to know how to prolong a chase. Something most players don’t do. You can’t play against a Spirit the same way you do a Wraith.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1264932#Comment_1264932

What about Spirit requires special skill or dedication. She's literally just put on a headset and rock and roll.

Not every killer needs to be on Nurse or Huntress level of difficulty to play. Not every killer needs hundreds of hours to become great with.

A majority of the killer roster don’t require a large amount of skill to play. This includes Trapper, Wraith, Hag, Myers, Doctor, Leatherface, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Legion, Plague, and Ghostface. Anybody can pick up these killers and do well with them on their first try. Even killers like Billy, Oni, and Demogorgon are not hard to play nor require a bunch of dedication.

You’re acting as though by playing Spirit you’re handed a free win. Go against good survivors with Spirit and you’ll see that it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

The ONLY reason people have an issue with Spirit is that she is arguably the second strongest killer in the game and she doesn’t take as much effort as Nurse and she gets almost the same results as Nurse. Same reason people have issues with Freddy. If Spirit was a bad killer you wouldn’t hear a peep out of anyone.

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 55
