  • Respectfully, are you guys going to look at the add-ons again? We put a lot of detail in regards to our feedback with them or is this just a rough draft?

  • Question, are they not taking any of our feedback into consideration regarding add-ons?

Or are the changes above just a rough draft?

I sincerely hope they are going to look at her add-ons again. We put a lot of work into the feedback for those, and a lot of her add-ons do you need help.

    (and everyone here lol)

I don't know if any of you saw Peanits' comment on the discord. I'm sure they'll announce it here soon as well. But I think many of us will be rejoicing :)

    I’m very excited 😊

I can confirm that these are real!

Thank you for fixing her :)

  • I’m not happy with the new changes. The nerfs are garbage.

I wont write more feedback since I’ve been advocating for her over and over. I’m tired. I want old onyro back but balanced. Period.

  • I felt this. 💯 for sure.

  • I may not main him but when I do play him I am lucky to get a 2k with Freddy. I usually get a 1k. I just don’t feel like I have enough tools at my disposal to help me. Especially against higher mmr.

I will and always be adamant on this. Incentive is always better than limitation. I don't like when killers slug for a 4k, but I would not say to remove the ability to slug, thats absurd, because its a bandaid on a bigger problem that will cause more problems and frustrations for killers. And what survivor mains who dont play killer, dont realize, is how frustrating playing killer can be, which is why they would never play killer seriously. Lets look at the reasons people slug other than being toxic, because in that situation you can tell when someone is doing that.

    1. Rank Reset. Killers trying desperately to get the BP from iri. Same way Survivors play in swfs, coms, and meta perks to gen rush and get iri during rank reset. Its a bloodbath. Cause soloq is hard, so killers use slugging strategically against swfs altruism, and it can make for very exciting games honestly. Its a meta fest but in high mmr, it already is even without rank reset.
    2. Based on the survivors track record or behavior during that match, of constant attempts to save, sabo, or body block, the killer can expect someone is nearby anytime someone is downed, and will leave the third on the ground to do a sweep around them.
    3. The killer spots the 4th survivor, and goes for the 4th while third is down. This is at the killers own risk because that survivor could have unbreakable. And yes that can result in that person opening the gate, or healing so they can take a hit or rescue the 4th person. Its happened. I have seen very clever survivors who use slugging against the killer and honestly well played.
    4. That person slugged knows the boiled over exploit spots on the map, and keeps returning to that spot so they cant be hooked. If you have boiled over and run to these spots, you honestly asked to be left slugged. The killer cant hook you.

Now when a killer doesn't have the above reasons, and has no idea where the 4th is, and/or isn't even looking for the 4th survivor, then yes, that is pretty rude to the player slugged.

But you can't punish killers for slugging without pin pointing the cause and if you cant fix all those causes then you can't do a blanket fix for the specific instance a killer is being toxic or having an ego trip.

You could make it an option for the 3rd survivor to DC (if they dont have boiled over) without punishment if the killer is in range for a certain amount of time, but keep in mind I have seen where slugging for the 4k backfired on a killer. Because a person will know better what to do if they are picked up to help that 4th teammate, a bot won't. On the other hand if the 4th survivor sees the person DC'd they know that survivors body is being camped and can stay hidden or go for gate. So that is the best thing you can do without adding unnecessary limitations to killers, especially because you would be punishing killers who dont slug to be toxic, but use it strategically and in some cases to counter-boiled over exploits.

But at least they can leave and not feel trapped, and they can get their blood points and let the game continue with a bot on the ground.

💯 agreed my friend. All very valid and fair points.

This is not a universal issue amongst all killers in the game. Most killers are actually quite reasonable to deal with. Its mostly the anti pallet and instant down killers I take issue with. As far as slugging goes, some killers can do this a lot easier than others but the outcome is still the same for the survivors. Wanting the match to continue when a killer decides to leave survivors on the ground for entire bleed outs is not an unreasonable opinion.

That’s fine, but remove the timer, and all the survivors are dead. Survivor shouldn’t get a base kit unbreakable because the whole team went down. That only punishes the killer. If the entire team went down, then the survivors made some seriously critical mistakes.

And you’re right it’s not a universal issue amongst all killers it’s not an issue that comes up all the time so it shouldn’t be an issue to slide in at least one perk to help prevent this Instead of coming to the forums to say killers should be punished for it.

If behavior wants to fix it, then they will find the best solution to make it happen, In my humble opinion, the best would be for survivors to just be dead so they can move onto the next lobby (ONLY if they have to counter it.)

There are not various counters to this. You're wanting every survivor to be forced into a loadout forever to deal with something that shouldn't be happening in the first place. What is the point of perks if were forced to use a specific loadout to deal with something that might not happen? This is why I say many survivor perks should be basekit.

The developers have stated over and over the Slugging isn’t toxic and that it’s part is the game.

They also allowed 1 hook moris, no unhook protections and no anti camp mechanic to be in the game for years before making changes to those things. They can say whatever they want. What matters is the player experience and feedback regarding things in the game. If enough players say something is not right in the game and they make changes to accommodate those things then their opinion on the issue didn't matter.

If they were going to remove slugging, it would’ve happened by now.

Not every survivor has to carry a load out for slugging, you only need one perk for that.

I still stand by what I say, if all survivors are on the ground, you should all be dead if there are no perks to help you get up or anything else by any means.

My main issue with your statements is you’re saying it’s “toxic” and the killer should be severely punished”

Not many people agree with you respectfully as you can see.

A surrender option or if nobody has the means to pick themselves up by any means than the timer could be ignored and all survivors die?

It could be implemented for both sides, where the game is over, but other side don't want to finish it for some reason. There would need to be delay, so you can't end game asap and other side doesn't have chance to finish possible challenges etc.

    Agreed

  • I agree, almost every other killer has their power disabled. When somebody is unhooked, consider it a fresh start if you will.

For some reason with this killer, you stay infected only to get hindered and for him to come back to hook.

Removing the infection upon being unhooked will solve this.

  • @VomitMommy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3642446#Comment_3642446

This could be fixed with Surrender option, no need to punish killer. You can ask for that instead...

There are actions survivors can do, where slugging is only counterplay, so it doesn't make sense to punish it in any way.

Agreed but she only wants to punish the killer. If it’s not a nerf on trickster, she wants to nerf Billy, if it’s not Billy, slugging for the 4K is toxic and should be an extremely punishable offense. She’s constantly blaming killers left and right on threads without looking at the big picture from everyone that is trying to be helpful in the feedback.

Killer shouldn’t be punished as you said and many others said. A surrender option or if nobody has the means to pick themselves up by any means than the timer could be ignored and all survivors die?

This is a non argument. "Just play better" is not the solution to this. As I said, there is a reason we have gotten unhook protections, 2 hook mori requirements and the anti camp mechanic. These are all the result of long term toxic playstyles that many killers did that was literally ruining the game for survivors. Why didn't the devs accept "just play better" to the other changes? Because they finally saw the problem and determined something needed to be done about it. This is a problem and it needs to be dealt with. It needs a deterrent which can be as simple as survivors being able to pick themselves up after about 30 seconds. If the killer realizes that leaving survivors on the ground for prolonged periods of time is preventing them from getting hooks and eliminations then they will focus more on the hook objectives than slugging. Also doesn't slugging play against the pip system for killers? Clearly that isn't enough to deter this. Besides that, if they know they aren't being rewarded with ranking up then it just further adds to the argument that they do this to be toxic.

The anti face camp is actually what it is. Hence survivors getting more and more basekit features added to the game.

The developers have stated over and over the Slugging isn’t toxic and that it’s part is the game. It’s a non reportable offense as it should be.

There’s more than one way to pip up and not every killer slugs every single trail of their game.

Also it is an argument because there are various counters to this and none of which you are willing to apply. Not the killers fault.

If all survivors are down and nobody has a perk to help them get up, then all survivors should be dead. 💀End of story.

Just to verify, it's BHVR that forces the player to be held hostage for 4 minutes. They could simply have the game end if all 4 survivors are downed and none of them have perks that'll get them back up. However, they have distinctly decided against doing this.

    Fair enough.

  • Do they still look at ingame reports?

  • That would be helpful for sure

  • If they end up adding this game mode into the game, the developers already mentioned that it wouldn’t be balanced as a heads up, so I hope nobody expects it to be balanced in any kind of way.

This is not Ok no matter the situation. I want fairness in this game. Nothing about slugging is fair when you do it for this long.

And this is only a few of the screenshots I have of this happening to me and I think these are all in recent time too.

I don’t feel bad. If this keeps happening to you why aren’t you changing your loadout to help prevent this? Why aren’t we thinking “ how could I have played this better?”

Instead of the killer needs to be severely punished for this it’s toxic… makes 0 sense.

It’s literally part of the game, it’s not toxic. The developers are never gonna go through with punishing killers for this. If you don’t want to be slugged, then try some different strategies or perhaps take a break from Dead by Daylight, you know what you’re walking into when you load this game up.

  • @mikewelk said:

Bleeding someone out for four minutes is not the same as what you listed lol. Sure, it shouldn't be bannable, but why compare such different things? Just takes away from your point.

My point was simple if you don’t want to get slugged, then bring a load out that helps you from getting slugged… in most cases, you were not sitting there for an entire four minutes on the ground, there are gaps in between where the survivor is able to get up with the help of another survivor.

  • @KateMain86 said:

Slugging is the next big problem they should solve. Survivors should be able to pick themselves up after so long if they are slugged and without the use of a perk or help from a player. Killers do this to be toxic. They ignore their objective to make sure your survivor experience is terrible. This only stops when they put effective deterrents in the game.

The fact that you keep preaching that killers do this to be toxic is incorrect. Most killers do this to save time.

The killers objective is to kill you, their only objective is not generators or hooking. the main objective for killers is to make sure you’re dead in anyway possible.

slugging is part of that, survivors don’t need another free base kit perk to furthermore to help them. I explained this in detail on your post.

Just because you get slugged and it hurts your feelings doesn’t mean it’s considered toxic. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Find ways to improve at the game, get better at looping, adjust your loadout, slot a perk that helps with getting slugged.

    Welcome to deadbydaylight. :)

  • No it should NOT be a ban worth offense.

Katemain - made the exact same post earlier.

I really don’t know what to tell you, bring perks that help you not get slugged, there’s quite a few of them, and you can bring perks to help you not get downed.

It’s part of the game, and it should not be something that is a bannable. It’s like saying survivor should be banned for teabagging, body blocking, etc.

It’s literally part of the game 🤷🏼‍♂️ just move on to the next game.

  • The screams are awful, that’s why I hit the person on hook once.

This is a much needed quality of life change

  • I love using this perk. I usually use it whenever I can, I love that. It gives me new items throughout the match that I can use or give to a friend. 😊

One time my friend was being picked up by the killer, and I use dramaturgy towards the killer and it gave me a flashlight and I got the flashlight blind 🤣🤣

    Pure luck!

I've had this happen to me twice today. Tough games, playing as Onryo, but I manage to swing it back and start applying very strong pressure. And then all of a sudden the game just crashes and ends. That's a good 10-15 minutes of gameplay on each game, wasted. And what sucks is that it appears that survivors at least get to keep their BP when this happens, but the killer gets nothing. It's making me wonder if there is some hack that lets a player pull the plug on a match like that with no penalty. There was a player in one of those lobbies that had a very suspicious steam account (very low hours for their skill), and they ran no perks. Or it good just be actual server issues.

I’m not entirely sure, but it is very frustrating and it seems to conveniently be usually when I’m pulling back a match that was rough, nearly about to win the whole thing and all the sudden the game just crashes out.

this could also be a possibility, as well, that I will pass along with you just in case, I play on PlayStation, and sometimes my game won’t fully close because the app is temporarily suspended, so when I load back into it the next day play a few matches I end up getting booted later on because there was a server disconnection error. 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • @Skitten56 said:

It should either be removed from showing up on the Visual Terror Radius (VTR) or BHVR should find a way to make the VTR only show up when the lullaby actually makes noise.

Right now many survivors run the VTR to get an advantage in the game since it gives them extra info, and no where is this most noticeable than when playing against Sadako/Onryo.

As @jonifire mentioned, many survivors did not even know she had a lullaby until the VTR update, simply due to how quiet and subtle her lullaby can be. The VTR feature directly hurts more than any other killer and makes her stealth aspects weaker.

BHVR needs to either fix this issue within the VTR by making the VTR reflect how subtle her lullaby is, or change and add-on to modify her lullaby.

The Clump of Hair add-on which is currently a useless add-on but geared towards stealth gameplay would be a great choice. By making this add-on have her Terror Radius be either map-wide or removed, it would give Onryo players a way to counter survivors using the accessibility feature for an advantage which hurts her.

    I agree ☝️

  • @FreeKnives What do you think in regards to Kate’s post. Should killers be severely punished for sluggin?

  • @KateMain86 said:

The survivor experience in this game is absolutely terrible. I cannot believe that over 7 years into this game killers can still slug the third survivor and look for the 4th without consequence unless the slugged survivor has a self pickup perk (they probably don't). Killers should be punished severely for doing this. Slugging in this game is toxic and completely ruins the survivor experience. Survivors are too heavily reliant on perks to deal with the worst killer playstyles in this game. We shouldn't have to use perks to counter a killer who decides to be toxic. So many survivor perks should be basekit. A killer should not feel comfortable with leaving survivors on the ground. If you leave a survivor on the ground for more than a few seconds you should be punished for it. It takes too long for survivors to recover from altruistic demanding situations where the killer suffers no slowdown or setback for being aggressive in this situation.

Please don't let this game go into 8 years and this still be a thing.

Here we go again… There are a few perks that you can use to counter slugging. If you choose not to use those that’s on you.

If a killer chooses not to put you on a hook, that’s their choice that doesn’t make it toxic, they don’t feel like wasting the time picking you up, trying to find a hook and potentially losing you because your teammates may have a flashlight or a flash bang or something that could help them wiggle free.

It’s a complete time waster. Of course survivors want you to pick up as a killer. It waste time and creates opportunities for saves which further waste time.

I wouldn’t say it’s toxic, frustrating sure. It’s not really the killer fault though if the entire team goes down. as much as people get slugged and tunneled in this game, they should use perks to help counter that I certainly do as a survivor and it makes my experience significantly better in the game.

punishing killers for slugging is like saying, you should punish survivors severely for body blocking when I’m trying to put somebody on a hook, which is another reason I didn’t mention that is good for slugging

  • It should. I was playing Plague the other day. Everyone dced at 5 gens because they were taking hits for each other to stop me from hooking someone but they were infected.

They all dced. I finished the game killed the bots but generally, I just stop playing if everyone dcs and I go do laundry 🧺 or something wise till everyone leaves 🤣

  • @sluc16 said:

Had a match were 4 gens were done in less than 5 minutes, but still match ended up lasting over 30 minutes just because how disgusting this killer is and how easy she can hold the last three gens, and of course she got all 4 kills at the end, no swaet, no real skills needed. Why does this killer even exists? Her design is just sooooo bad is mind blowing

30 mins? With the new update that’s not possible anymore. It sounds like the survivors and possibly yourself made critical mistakes, which isn’t the killers fault.

The best way to avoid getting a nerf is to ask for a buff.

I say this whole post is a bait, clearly knowing Xeno is very powerful and should rather get nerfed instead of buffed. People often fall into this trap. Just wanted to point that out.

I don’t care if he gets a nerf or not. I just don’t want him getting a buff, he doesn’t need it.

  • Decisive strike definitely needs a bit of a buff. Of course not how it used to work originally, but something more than what it is now.

There has always been tunneling in this game but now currently it’s over the top.

  • The developers already mentioned that it was a prototype, it’s just a test, an experiment to see how a new game mode would impact the game.

During that week, they want to see how people enjoy it as well.

  • I honestly don’t mind going against her since I rarely see her anyways but the broken status affect is a little much in my opinion.

You said and I quote “cos theres zero.”

You're already incorrect on your first statement. It’s an obnoxious perk though. I don’t disagree there. The Developers mentioned they will address it in the very near future.

  • @GeneralV said:

    Please don't.

He is already extremely oppressive in chases.

I agree my friend. I feel like he is in a good spot honestly. Please do not buff him.

  • @MrMori said:

This may drown in the floods of feedback, but I'll give my two cents.

From a raw balancing perspective, both the lock on condemned being unlimited, AND the no cooldown condemned were fine. Good players understand how you gain and lose condemned, as well as how TVs work.

But a lot of people have no clue. You shouldn't nerf her strength to appease players that literally do not understand how the killerpower works.

However, I get it. It's a little strange, she's had many reworks, they don't know. But that's okay! Because just like the changes to Skull Merchants scan lines becoming white, you can show them!

Make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR when someone gains condemned while near an active TV , that THE ACTIVE TV is the reason they are becoming condemned! Have it glow with a dark aura! Have it darken their whole screen, except for the TV! Show them the danger, and they will quickly understand "I have to get away from this TV, or turn it off!"

This was the ONLY change Sadako needed from the PTB. That's good game design! You did a great job with her in the PTB, but your takeaways completely missed the mark. Her problem is not her strength, it's the clarity of her power.

I agree 💯 people just need to get use to her so they can learn. That’s all.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

To be honest the whole condemned system seems like its something that high end gamers try to completely exploit, to a point where it gets nerfed for everyone else. And no matter how it gets applied it makes the killer avoid standard gameplay. Perhaps the whole condemned status could be either changed to something else like an end of round mechanic or can apply stacks when you hit the survivor so that they just build up through normal gameplay and the tvs remain a mobility option. Because currently it either takes too much effort to apply this mechanic, or previously no effort at all.

On the PTB they had it perfect. It was right where it needed to be. I don’t agree that the condemn should be an endgame mechanic if that’s what you meant.

While I think it would be cool every time she hit somebody, they get condemn, because her power literally means “to curse” it wouldn’t be the best idea because she’s still M1, with no chase and no anti-loop.

As I’ve said several times before, that’s not an issue just make her condemn an actual threat, the PTB solved that.

  • @anarchy753 said:

Yeah, how about no? I genuinely cannot her her screeching noises through my tinnitus like 90% of the time.

Accessibility options exist for a reason.

I get that but the killer shouldn’t be punished for people that don’t have an issue and use it for an upper hand. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Killer accessibility should also exist then too.

The biggest reason for it is Huntress I believe. If you're hard of hearing and can't hear her massive lullaby, it's definitely going to be a problem if she's readying a hatchet without you knowing she's near and can see you.

That said, for killers like Sadako or Trickster, their lullabies are so small they pretty much assist in prerunning from them. I have the visual TR on myself because I like the look of it, and yeah it makes them unable to be stealthy.

I agree ☝️ it’s awful for onyro. It would be a nice QOL change for sure.

  • @TheMidnightRidr said:

is this a bug I’m unaware of? If you’re demanifested doesn’t that hide your terror radius meaning no visual heartbeat?

It’s not a bug. It’s part of the visual heart beat mechanic sadly.

  • @jonifire said:

I actually think they should remove her lullaby from the visual heart beat, because I didn‘t even know she had one before I activated it.

I would agree 💯 I feel it gives survivors an unfair advantage.

  • @mecca said:

The game has been destroyed for survivors. I can't hold my stomach playing anymore.

They made the game into ez win simulator for killers while removing all skill expression from survivors.

I would disagree. I definitely don’t think the game for killers is “easy mode” it’s incredibly difficult for killers too and times a complete stressfest.

Survivors definitely need a little bump in their meta for sure but both sides got significant changes.

Survivors still have perks like, windows, lithe, sprint burst, flashbang, background player, well make it, deadhard (which should be 3 uses not 2) blastmine, wiretap, kindred, etc, I could go on and on that are all really good perks.

Boons are still powerful just because we don’t have the old version of COH, survivors still get basekit BT, Anti Face Camp mechanic (Which ppl confuse for anti camping 🤷🏼‍♂️)

However perks like deadhard was too much of a nerf. Made for this should’ve been left alone.

Both sides struggle for sure but survivor again definitely needs a bump in its meta. Hopefully they don’t nerf Adrenaline. It doesn’t need to be touched.

The introduction of new game modes this year is excellent.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

Steamcharts player count is the lowest in almost 4 years, so I think a lot of other people agree with you that the game is getting stale. Sure lots of new perks and killers have come along but really not much different about the core gameplay since the game's inception.

(Yes I know Steamcharts doesn't count players on all the other platforms, but there is no reason why the trend would be any different on other platforms)

I don’t think they are worried about their player base. Too much, they recently hit over 69 million players. There isn’t a ton of marketing that they have to do because there are so many streamers that Market the game for them.

As a certified member of the curch of Pig and a 2200h pig main, i agree with a lot of your suggestions.

Box interaction : my suggestion is different but similarly effective: a survivor searching a box cannot die if their timer runs out while searching. This would be a small but impactful nerf to the strength of the traps while not deleting the strategic aspect of the pig that many people enjoy so much.

Stealth : simple solution: make medical file completely basekit. Pig should be 100% movement speed while crouched.

Ambush: combat straps entirely basekit to make the charge up not take so long that survivors can just outrun it. Faster ambush charge up and longer duration to make the attack worth using around many loops. One could put the roar entirely on the ambush itself, but this would destroy a lot of meme potential the pig has (bad). Therefore your suggestion with letting the roar start at ~35% charge up is a great idea.

Simple as that, the Pig is in a great spot.

She's an alright killer with a lackluster chasing power but the strongest secondary objective in the game right now.

I have summoned you! The box! You opened….wait wait. That’s not you.
