If the people that used to go-next by hook suiciding are now just d/cing, that's a win in my book. Avoiding the penalty was a large issue in rewarding rage quitting. Now they get the penalty and the rest of the team at least has a bot instead of being a 3v1.

    Agreed 💯

I am, but I'm not sure if I want to download the PTB.

I'll probably keep playing the Last Masquerade.

Anyway, I'm really happy that the Houndsense issue is resolved (or at least seems resolved).

Hopefully, her other bugs also get ironed out.

I would love that truly 🙏🏼

Devs, Mod Coordinators or community managers, do we have any intel or info at this time regarding this topic? 🙏🏼❤️ Please.

Yeah, only work left to do on the bloodweb is item priority when mass spending and it's perfect.

    That would be so neat!

  • I love the map to be quite honest! It’s fun to play on as a survivor and killer. ☺️

  • I don’t know how I feel about this. Pyramid head?

If they’re getting camped, can’t you just work on other gens? Only one gen is being blocked by DMS. The killer isn’t chasing anyone if he’s at a hook.

  • Ghoul doesn’t = Balanced.

  • @Valimure said:

Babysitter just got a huge buff and will massively help out someone being tunneled.

The hook durations were also just increased. It's okay to leave someone on hook for a bit.

If a killer is proxy camping, rush gens. Otherwise, don't unhook right away ...Wait for the killer to be in another chase or otherwise wait to unhook until you know they're not nearby.

Stop healing under hook as well. Take the couple of seconds to move away behind an obstacle.

This can be hard to do when your team leaves you on hook to do the gen and then when they do decide to come get you, the killer just comes right back to your hook to proxy camp and make sure of it that you go to second. This literally just happened to me. Guess what…Soon as I got off hook. He tunneled me immediately. Dead at 5 gens. Thank you Blight.

  • I main Sadako and Houndmaster.

Sadako because she is my favorite horror genre. Houndmaster because - well….I don't really feel alone with Snug there. <3 Even if he does piss me off with his bugs lol.

Houndmasters addition has reduced my killer anxiety by like half. I am thankful for that! Probably why I love 2v8 so much tbh.

  • Recently I had a teammate come out of NOWHERE. I went down after loopin the killer for a while, the most unexpected flashlight save! It was so shocked and happy! I ran for my life!

  • @PatchNoir said:

Basically, chain blinding is shining again after the first got blinded once, to earn value from the previous blind, leading to a faster and longer blinding.

Some chain blindings personally feel detrimental to the game overall

Case A: Hooks, if the Killer hooks someone, you're able to blind him from behind the hook with no counterplay 2 times, enabling a safe rescue for a 3 survivor.

Reasoning: I think this is unhealthy because it abuses the interactivity of hooking while punishing the hooking action wich should be encouraged, it's not the same case like blinding on pallets or window animations since those are chase scenarios. Also this encourages hook farming to abuse the basekit bt protection hit since the savior will not have to trade the hook.

Case B: Saves, after doing a flashlight save you can chainblind to deepen the gap between the killer and the injured survivor.

Reasoning: after performing a save if you chain blind theres also no counterplay since the killer is stuck on the stun animation (wich by itself its a mechanic to create space to the injured survivor), the problem with the chain blind is that it also allows the healthy survivor to create a big distance too and apply perks like champion off light ,residual manifest, while charging exhaustion.

Worst case scenario vigil, champion, sprint burst, fixated.

Mechanically, the blinding feels like an invisible meter that fills with the shining of the light and decays overtime, chaining blinds is refilling this meter before it depletes too much. The big problem is that after one blinding is succesfull the meter doesnt go back to 0 instantly, and thats why in SOME cases grenades are healthier. Chain blinding also isnt a problem for low-skilled players, but if the increased blinding duration for the second blind is so meaningful maybe the addons should to that job, instead of cheesing the game code. Also it isnt a problem on chases that much, just on uncounterable scenarios like the previous mentioned where you cant move your head as a killer.

Case A isn't true. Sure you will get blinded once, but you need to look down after the animation is complete. The key to this one is look down while you are going to the hook. You will get blinded once in animation and then thats it. If you are getting chain blinded after that, its on you.

Case B you have a point, its a little tricker, but to be fair there are A LOT of counter measures to this before a survivor gets a save to begin with. Face a wall, bait the survivor, use lightborne, or fireup, or forever entwined. This doesn't include if you are playing specific killers that can counter this a bit better, than others too.

  • For me it’s whispers. While I think the perk is unique, I just remember a couple years ago when I was brand new trying to use this perk for information. I didn’t know anything about this game.

I think it confused me more than anything. I feel like it’s missing something.

Yeah in these situations this seems more optimal for her to confirm hits faster, are the clips sped up when you grab them or is that just how fast snug pulls? I had no idea he could pull that fast if so

That was just how fast he would pull them back. It really just depends on how far they were when you got the grab. The further away, the stronger the pull back to houndmaster, the less distance away, no nearly as strong.

This was just ideal because normally what happens or at least now is when you get a grab far out. Snug wont pull them to you while another survivor is in your face trying to distract you, take a hit etc. The time you deal with them and get them out of your hair they are free.

  • @PolarBear said:

Both 2v1 and 3v1 situations desperately need to be looked at. This is going to sound unpopular but there needs to be a catch up mechanic for when a survivor dies early to keeps survivors engaged instead of what we have now where the game grinds to a halt and the survivors eventually all die. For me this is the biggest pain point in the game, before it was manageable since you could just die on hook but now that its removed you are forced to stay in the match for several more minutes than before. Complete misery for everyone involved, even as a killer because now if you want an actual interesting match you need to play worse to give the other side a chance.

I would be down for that! Truly. However, it needs to go both ways. If they popped 3 gens and I only have 1 hook. I want a catch up mechanic. Gen speeds get reduced drastically.

But survivors want loop players bots arent funny to outplay and bully, just try some games just stand in corner as killer I bet there will be survivors who will be more toxic in chat abount not giving them chase then if you tunneled one of them on 4 gens.

It would be more fun than a killer just sitting in a corner at endgame such as above.

  • We have Killer bots I dont see why not.

    1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the "Run" command.
    2. In the text box paste the following: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Logs
    3. Click "OK" - this will open your Dead by Daylight Logs folder.
      • If it does not open the Dead by Daylight Logs folder, it may mean that when installing Dead by Daylight you chose to save your files somewhere else and will need to check there.
    4. The file called "DeadByDaylight.log" is your log file

Yes, it is not accepteble that devs on purpose destroy, overnerf objectively overkill a killer. That is not called balance changes, that's public execute. Plus I have no hopes for her and her future rework. It's either going to be disliked again or different power type of killer (dash-like, etc.) that will changer her identity.

    @GeneralV said:

My friend, while I am having fun with her, more than any other killer, it is still extremely unfair that she was nerfed for absolutely no reason. Her kit no longer caused any problems for the game, the 3 gen thing was over.

Worst of all is that the design previews for the rework are terrible. No only do they look unfun to play as and against, but they also completely erase her identity. She shouldn't have a dash, she shouldn't have a mid range M2, she is a trap killer and should remain that way.

I strongly support reverting her back to 2.0 and then leave her be. It is, in my opinion, the best option.

Respectfully if I may, one of my biggest feedbacks I would give to behavior is that often times while I feel like they have good intentions, they make unnecessary changes to killers.

Skull merchant getting whipped around like she has.

    Sadako getting some weird changes.

Freddy while getting a rework it was a bit of an odd one but it works.

Houndmaster got changed to where her dog doesn’t pull survivors to her but to a point they got grabbed?

Trickster got a strange rework while at least we made efforts time and resources could have been saved…He should have had a design preview done.

Any existing killer that we have if reworked should go through a design preview before hitting ptb so the community as a chance to give feedback to the team. This will save everyone time and energy.

The goal should be making it fun for both sides, WHILE achieving efficiency as well as keeping it in line with their lore/elements. If you strip that, people will lose interest in the characters quickly.

  • @Lastlegion said:

I feel like dlcs are coming out so fast anyone feel the same?

For sure. How do they plan to balance everything hahah it’s impressive. I mean there are still so many killers that are awaiting changes and adjustments. New content drops so fast. I love it don’t get me wrong, but how do you strike the balance of everything else?

  • He needs it for sure. I know they did some not too long ago but it was minor. He could use a few more.

I hope they are able to maintain their fast growing killer list. There are a lot of killers that still need help.

  • @Amanova said:

I think she is fine, kinda annoying to verse, survivors will complain if they do that since you don't spend your time to get closer and hit them

Survivors complain anyways…this doesn’t change that. It’s just reverting it back to what it was.

That’s like saying deathslinger shouldn’t reel in targets anymore. It should just keep them in the spot they got shot at because he needs to make up the distance. His harpoon also injures you regardless. (Not hating on him by any means. Just simply drawing out a comparison)

    1. You can wiggle out of snugs grasp especially if someone takes a hit.
    2. He only “attempts” to keep you in the spot he grabbed you which usually isn’t close.
    3. Because of point 2 you can drag snug right to a pallet to set yourself free making it pretty far.
    4. His pull strength is bogged due to FPS issue so you’re able to move further than you should .
    5. 5 survivors can set you free.

Just food for thought. Thank you for your comment of course though.

Yeah if you are spreading them out then that makes sense! Good stuff though! Just think too your BP streamers are building up during this time too.

  • That's nothing new and thats not the problem. The problem is survivors hold onto her tapes for free. I love her but Spamming TV's is a bit boring in terms of killer gameplay.

The change is intentional, so no, you're actually asking for a buff, not a bugfix.

It’s a revert. It’s NOT a buff. I’m not asking for the dog to start injuring survivors with every bite. I’m not asking for snug to run at lightning speeds or for him to give me 24/7 feedback on every survivors location.

If I land a successful grab. Pull the survivor to me. Similar function to slinger. I’m not asking for much. Besides, snug was ALREADY doing this. Then they switched it to what it is now for QOL/Buff intentions, while appreciated, I prefer the way they had it.

  • Oh wow! Great job! 👏❤️

Out of curiosity how many hours a day are you all playing? As mentioned in this thread, I can't play much this year but even during previous years when I was able to play a more I never got anywhere near that amount!

1 or 2 hours of back to back lobbies.

Some days I don’t play. Just depends on my schedule.

I can see it happening honestly, because I still don't understand how the new pathing works LOL I'm guessing it pulls the survivor to the end of the path he was going?

The new pathing he just attempts to pull them to the spot where they got grabbed initially, yes.

The pull strength is weak so either way it doesn’t do ya much good. That’s why I I was thinking hahahaha huh! It would be more efficient just to keep it the way we had it.

  • @ChainsLogic said:

Houndmaster is an A tier killer, so yeah, I think buffing her is completely unnecessary.

With all the bugs she has, she is not A tier. She has 3 or 4 game breaking bugs currently.

Also, I didn’t mention buffs... I requested for her power to be fixed.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

As someone who plays her, I feel like it's a double edged sword, it going to the marked location has often saved snug from pallet stuns in some cases for me. So I'm kind of torn about it

Oh I totally understand. Truly. ❤️

I’m p100 with her and unfortunately for me, I don’t have that same experience. Snug usually for me gets dragged into resources.

Previously though when I had a LOS. I would get the grab far away and snug dragged them right to me closing the distance which helped.

Obviously of course I wouldn’t do it with a pallet there because then he would drag into a pallet for them to get the stun so that would just be silly.

Thank you though I do see your point. Valid thoughts. 💭

I feel like Snug dragging people towards the Houndmaster's current location would be ideal, if it can even work properly (I'm not sure with this game tho).

I agree 💯 I believe in the devs. I know the game isn’t perfect but I do believe they can do this.

    Hey,

Just wondering how people feel about the extension of the Twisted Masquerade event, taking over Chaos Shuffle which was supposed to occur.

Personally, it ticks me off a bit. I have already earned all the cosmetics and whatnot from the event, except for the three banners and charm, which is hardly worth anything. I don't need more time in the event.

BHVR, stop messing with your calendar and making arbitrary changes like this; it's super annoying.

I am fine with it. Gives me more time get more pies. I have over 900 on just one character. I would like to get more on my 2 survivors. I enjoy the event so thats just me. I also appreciate that they are creating more challenges for us to do during the extension which means more BP. So its a win for me.

I've seen someone demonstrate a bug that allows survivors to reduce the dog's pull strength.

If the dog's pull strength is based off of the distance between the killer and survivor, then the pull strength would be higher when the survivor is farther away, since the dog needs to travel more distance to reach the killer.

Ah yes, thank you for explaining. I agree 100% that's correct. Its getting abused which is frustrating.

For example this happen to me, based off what you are saying. I will get grabs MILES away from me. I get excited because holy crap! What a snatch ya know?! Then the dog doesn't even pull. In fact the survivor is just pulling the dog away to a survivor or pallet to get free so the reward for a successful grab is minimal in this regard at least. However, if the pull strength was stronger because the I the killer was FAR away when I got that grab, snug should close the distance to help me catch up.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/450925/can-we-revert-this-please-%EF%B8%8F-thank-you-kindly

Having the dog move back to where the grab started, makes it much easier for survivors to figure out which direction the dog will drag them, and they can act accordingly.

If the dog's pull strength is too low, that could be changed independently of the pathing logic. The pull strength could be based on how far the survivor is from the killer, even though the pull direction is based on the dog's previous location.

”If the dog's pull strength is too low, that could be changed independently of the pathing logic. The pull strength could be based on how far the survivor is from the killer, even though the pull direction is based on the dog's previous location.”

I see what you’re saying and I hear ya!

Could you explain the second part though to me?

I am not sure how this would work or function if that makes sense.

The pull strength for sure regardless is way too weak. (Which is why I suggested a revert, but could be due to the fps bug a friend and I discovered. Not sure yet)

I feel like you’re right though.

Thank you again, just trying to understand your logic. :)

  • @SoGo Im sorry for the reference but I wanted your thoughts on this? I have a good idea of what you’ll say, but I thought this was interesting.

Controller users have the WORSE CONTROLS that devs refuse to adjust even tho, on PC you can alter keybinds however you like but controller your interaction button has to be the same button r1or whatever you make it doesnt matter its still gonna do healing, pallet drops, vaulting, entering lockers etc straight up stinks.

I cant count the amount of times ive seen players die tryna drop a pallet or vault a location but because a teammate is there in the dying state your interaction button 99% of the time will prioritze the heal over vaulting or dropping the pallet resulting in them or myself going down as well. The fact that 1 button is used for mostly every important thing in the game is beyond crazy to me.

But after 3,451 hours in DBD and ive gotten the platinum trophy. I think i will be deleting this and not looking back. To be fair - I have redone my controls on console. I play on the ps5. You can change them without any issues.

7s is unknown, and 5s is a bit more than houndmaster. 5.5 and 3.5 sound really bad but they arent the full CD

Unknowns power doesn’t injury you upon first hit. The dog getting a grab doesn’t injury you either. Plus the dog can be counterd heavily by pallets, or a survivor making him go away.

Spring traps axe injuries immediately and then becomes faster.

I'm sorry but no. Pig isn't a strong killer. She badly needs help with her chase potential. I'm not saying she's super weak but she's definitely not strong.

facts. The pig buffs were needed.

  • @Jspect said:

His axe's cooldown is longer than Dracula's hellfire when he has a second m2…

Currently, the axe's cooldown is 11.5 seconds if you hit, and 8.5 seconds if you miss. That includes the 1.5 seconds it takes to recall the axe.

Cooldowns this long incentivize zoning and punish you for successfully hitting your power. I'd love to go for crazier shots and use my power more often, but it's just too risky.

    The cooldowns should be:

5.5s on hit, 3.5s on miss (dont freak out yet)

If we include the recall time that would make it 7s and 5s in total.

These numbers just seem way to fast in my opinion. I would have to see it in action before making an official call.

It's insane to me that Houndmaster isn't killswitched while they figure out her stutter step

Like at any given point while playing this killer you can randomly get locked into 1/3rd of your normal movement speed for the rest of the game which is just an abstract game over

You can basically lose the game at any point and the trigger (while assumed to be something related to cancelling or interrupting a dog command) still isn't fully divined with a way to avoid it

I have genuinely never played a killer with a bug this random, impactful and frustrating

Or at least i've never had a bug this bad creep up on me this often

It makes me not even wanna load up the game because at any point regardless of how the match has been going I can just lose any ability I had to effectively play the game at all

That too - It happens frequently sadly. I know it will get fixed I was just hoping this update it would be in the notes. I have lost several matches or multiple gens pop because I am now way slower than the survivor. I simply can't keep up. I really think the bug is revolving around an FPS issue which is what is also affecting her dog's pull strength in why its so weak right now.

  • @SoGo Are you on PC by chance? I am gonna download the PTB on my pc even though I play on the Ps5 to test some stuff. I am curious. They did an engine update! That might help with the stuttering issue everyone has been experiencing lately/a drop in FPS. This might fix some of her issues. Let's see.

because you are not relying on randomness but instead get rewarded for looking at potential spawns and remembering them.

The spawns are still the same no matter what. Your version you dont have to look for them. They are just given to you. Shown. Then you run to hatch. If I understood correctly. Versus finding them yourselves BECAUSE you have taken the time to remember certain spawn locations.
