Players start somewhere. We shouldn’t be discouraging newbies.
I'm not discouraging newbies. I'm encouraging them to learn instead of demanding nerfs to something they haven't even attempted to adapt to.
I stand by what I said. If a person has only been playing a week, they have zero valid opinion on reworks, what is and isn't overpowered etc.

Correct it is a casual game, but lately has it been that way? No, it's been complaint after complaint about nerfs, facing high tier survivors at low ranks, people saying they're quitting because it's more stress than they need.
So while I agree with you, that is not the case in the current state of the game, and them adding a MMR system is making it less casual and more competitive making it a headache to people who are trying to play it casually. DBD is no longer the casual game it was meant to be. Nor do I see it reverting back to that state anytime soon.
Doesn't really matter how it's "been". It's still a casual game. Again, you can't say "this person is your friend, you can't play with them because they are higher rank than you". It will severely hinder the playerbase. The devs decide that it's a casual game. Not the players. There's so much RNG that it is literally impossible for it to be anything other than casual.

I’ve been playing killer lately and when I get stunned by a pallet a lot of the time they start hitting the crouch button. My question is why would waste the precious chase time crouching? Does it give a speed boost??
It's the universal communication signal for "please, master killer, camp my ass off".

Matchmaking is broken, we're all fully aware of this. Something I believe can fix this including new MMR system. Rainbow Six has a MMR cap. Gold ranks and bronze can't queue together due to their MMR being too far apart.
If BHVR implemented this. One it'll effect SWF, new survivors won't go against experienced killers when trying to play with their high rank friends, and the green ranks facing reds, and yellow facing purple. Would be reduced greatly I believe.
What are your opinions on this and how big would you want that MMR cap be?
No caps. DBD is a casual game, and basically a party game honestly. You can't tell people "I can't play with my friends because they are more experienced". You'll see the game die quick if you try to dictate that.
All they need to do is put the SWF (however many exist in the party) against a killer that matches the average MMR of the SWF group.

Eh, a lot of people run Calm Spirit right now. So, I wouldn't, right now, want to equip a perk that also gets countered by Calm Spirit lol.

If it's the tank, I literally want survivors flying dozens of meters forward with every hit.
Also... I rather have the smoker... it would be a new mechanic in dbd.
Ahh yes. Smoker with his death bringing mouth penis, coming after survivors. !!!
Do want.

Right and killers have been downright annoying lately with IF wanting to snowball all the time. So annoying and frequent I tend to put Calm Spirit on my bar now.
Eh, it's not really annoying. It's how they have to play. They have no early game potential anymore unless they play Hillbilly or Freddy, really. So they two choices - late game plays, or slug snowballing.
You can't really blame them.
-
I nod at survivors when I want them to boop the snoot.

I just had a game where i got tunneled by a Doc and i got so many shock that i lost the count. The fact that he can use it once in a 1.5 seconds, doesn't mean that when you're in a chase he can't use it at least 10/15/20 times. All he did was shock me every 1.5 seconds. It's not spamming? Ok then but it's pretty close.
(There's a challenge to shock people in the Tome, so that's probably why).
-
I don't get tunneled that much, but when I do, it's as Bill. Then they realize "this Bill isn't pepega...time to go chase that Nea".
I don't really tunnel people unless I know them personally as a friend. Then it's just playful trolling:P
-
@aurum_exe said:
Well the fact that he can spam his shock treatment and negate every action with it, speaks by itself. In 10 games there are at least 6/7 doctors. It's very unpleasant to play against, not because i think it's too strong but because of the confusion it generates, with all those noises and broken skillchecks. It's getting annoying.
He can't spam it. There's a 1.5 second cooldown after it completes.

What other Killer can control survivor´s actions like that?
- Plenty of killers powers require survivors to play differently.
- Ghostface requires you to be more aware (and possibly use spinechill). Same with Myers and Pig to an extent.
- Billy requires you not to be out in the opened, or you're pretty much screwed. Same with Bubba.
- Plague is best played by running resilience and not cleansing (also works on Legion - run resilience and don't heal)
- Nurse requires you to make a point of breaking LoS during chases.
- Trapper requires you to be aware of the ground in front of you and is heavily countered by small game
- Huntress requires you not to be a W gamer, and look behind you while in chase
- Hag requires you to drastically change your playstyle by keeping an eye out for traps and either crouching over them, or destroying them with a flashlight. Or, just trip the trap and die.
None of these things are "absolute musts" much like playing against Doctor and using spine chill and dropping pallets early, but they do make playing against them easier.
Please, just stop. You don't know how to play the game yet. Learn, and then your mind will change.

Lots of Doctors, sure, but there are also many killers using Infectious Fright.
It doesn't have anything to do with being immersed. It has everything to do with not getting compromised moving in for unhooks or flashlight saves.
I mean, it counters Doctor, Infectious, Clown and Freddy to an extent...Iron Maiden as well.
Literally everything that makes you scream.

Lockers are located next to gens
Lockers are everywhere. Cool, you have eyes. Good on you. Again, you're assuming everyone gets into a locker every time someone is hooked.
Maybe you're immersed. Most survivors aren't and don't care to get into a locker. I personally find it more efficient to just stay on the generator.

Lockers exist, sorry bud :/
Lockers exist, but the odds of every survivor getting into a locker at the same time? Fairly low, which is a pretty consistent thing. Sorry bud :/
I can already tell you don't really dabble in killer that often, if that's honestly something you don't know.

I personally agree with you. He can easily stun lock you so you can’t get people healed or off the hook or anything since he can reach you from fairly far away. He’s not as bad as some other killers, I don’t think he needs an entire full rework especially since he just got one but I do think his ability is a bit too powerful
He's only as powerful as you allow him to be.

I meant a rough distance of a standard terror radius. Basically if they aren't patrolling gens or chasing someone but they just LINGER around for no reason. Terror radius being a reference point.
If a killer lingers, it's not really for no reason. Most killers run BBQ. If they don't see anyone on BBQ, it's pretty safe to assume someone is nearby looking for the save. Why would you leave if you know people are nearby?

To be fair most stay within terror radius distance so they can get back to the hook quickly to tunnel after the unhook. Trappers are notorious for this.
Most killers stay within terror radius distance? Huh. Not my experience.

Except that they keep changing things to appeal to new survivors. I guarantee you if they drop another killer that was completely different similar to old freddy and stomped new newbies like him they would nerf that killer into the ground.
They do keep doing that, and look where that's gotten them. To the point where killers are leaving in such huge numbers that rank 20 killers are getting matched with red rank survivors.

In my opinion the the doctor is op.
If the killer is not ######### and can play normaly you can't escape against the doctor, In the chase he puts you to the snap it out and your character screams randomly thats okay not that big of a problem but if you lost him you are "snapping it out" so you wont scream otherwise he comes and chases you again but he knows you are somewhere around and he sends his shocks around and thats it, you cant do anything.
you should hide in a locker oh stfu pls
Drop pallets early, stop going for stuns, and dodge his shock attacks. Boom, you just outplayed and probably escaped a Doctor.
It's your ability that needs improvement, not the killer that needs nerfing. Using calm spirit, going into lockers, all these suggestions people are giving, they are legitimate counterplays. If you choose, willingly, not to adapt, that's your own fault and DBD isn't the game for you.

I would say hold off for a bit. They have been heavily alluding to cross progression lately, so it will likely come sooner or later.
-
(I actually didn't know it worked on Infectious)
Calm Spirit is one of those perks I always had in my "rotation" of perks. I use it every once in a while. It almost never gets any actual use, but when I go against a Doc or a Clown, it makes me feel like superman.

I guess I didn't word it very well. I'm not trying to be rude but I just want to be able to experiment with different builds and I'm fine with getting killed in a match, it's just that the only way to escape doctor shouldn't be the meta perks
Escaping Doctor doesn't require meta perks. You don't even need perks, and the one perk that negates his power almost completely isn't a meta perk (Calm Spirit).

I shouldn't have to completely change whatever build I'm using just to use the meta perks to escape. The whole point of this game is to have fun and if I'm just stuck using a meta build to survive against a now somewhat overpowered killer, it's not fun.
I've been playing for months and old doctor wasnt as bad. I dread any game against doctor because it's so difficult to get out with my own build
Actually, that's exactly what you need to be doing. You can't play against every killer the same way. You need to change your playstyle from time to time to adapt to other kills. if you can't handle that, DBD isn't the game for you. Stop begging for everything to be easy street. Killer players want to have fun too.
-
Slightly off topic, but are you going to make a thread like this for every perk?
Also - on topic - no. Especially now because it isn't pair-able with ruin.

You don't understand what I'm trying to say, what other Killer has that kind of skillset?
I don't think It's important but I'm rank 8 and I'm been playing for a week.
You're the one not understanding what we're saying. He's not overpowered, and just had a rework. All your complaints would have been 10x worse before the recent rework (which happened literally just before you started playing). He has counter play, you just need to learn how to do it.
You've been playing for a week; so I'm not saying this as an insult, but after only a week, you actually don't know what you're talking about. There's a learning curve, as with most games that aren't Minecraft, and you just need to learn. Give it time. This isn't a "master it in a week" type of game.
If you think he finds you easily now, you should have seen Doc before.
-
Tea bagging is psychological strategy? Okay. So is camping then. :)

You can tell the experience/rank of a person here by looking at the first thing they post. This screams "yellow ranks".

So you’re basically saying that people finding killer harder to pip as is just their personal problem then? Obviously that isn’t what you said but I can very easily apply the same logic to “killer being harder to pip on”.
I didn't say that in the least. If you manage to depip as a survivor, one of three things happened. You were camped, you were tunneled, or you threw the game.
If you do a gen or two and get a save or two, you will black pip, at the very least.
Contrary to killer, where you can 4k and STILL barely black pip at times. Stay civil and don't put words in my mouth.

@GrootDude said:

Then why do I de-pip as survivor more than killer?
That sounds like a personal problem, and doesn't refute what I said. You have to accomplish significantly more to pip, in red ranks, as killer, than you do survivor.
-

Because it's just a video game and has no effect on my life.

I’m sitting at R1 on both sides, it isn’t difficult.
Good for you, so am I. That doesn't stop the fact that it is considerably easier to pip as a survivor than it is as killer when you hit red ranks.
-
At start, no, neither side is. But when you get to red ranks, the requirements to pip are actually quite a bit different between killer and survivor in terms of difficulty.
-
They'll make DBD2 before a new game mode.
They won't release anything substantial that they can't charge money for.

I don't think it will be any better, no. But that doesn't nullify that soon ranks won't be a relevant complaint.

Smh that why a purple or red key should always be found in 1 chest per match. Trust me I'm a 5000 hour killer main I know what I'm talking about.
That's a thing too, yeah. Keys are all too common these days.
Like...the whole "with whispers the survivor has basically no chance during EGC" is just a nonsense argument.
The survivor, who has a plethora, infinite amount of second chances at their disposal...failed to capitalize on every single one of them...they don't deserve the win.

Have you read the terms of service? I'm not sure how it is in most country's, but in the USA they can revoke the right. Your basically renting the game if you read the fine print.
Legally, even in the US, if you buy a digital game, you own the license to play that game. It's not a rental. Besides, they'd never get away with it anyway based on the fact that they chose to release this game in the EU, who would never allow them to get rid of purchased content with no compensation.

I'm not exaggerating when I say pretty much impossible. Unless you have a key or the killer is dumb as rocks, you will not escape.
I've played survivor. I'm aware. They aren't really supposed to have much of a chance once their last ditch solution (the hatch) has been closed. The killer has killed everyone, and found the hatch first. The killer deserves the very big upper hand. What more do you want?
-

The endgame is pretty much impossible to win as survivor is the killer closed the hatch and has whispers.
If the killer closed the hatch, it's not supposed to be easy to win as a survivor.

Any advice is more than welcome
If you like to slug (which is a lot of fun on Doctor and Spirit)
Doctor build:
Perks: Knockout, Sloppy Butcher, Thanataphobia, and a third perk of your choice (BBQ or Pop?)
Addons: Calm and Restraint. Or if you wanna get really disgusting, Iri king and queen. Calm and Restraint are my go-to's.
Spirit:
Perks: Knockout, Sloppy Butcher, Thanataphobia, and Stridor.
Addons: Katsumori (or Kaiun) Talisman and Dirty Uwabaki (or Muddy Sports Day Cap). You could replace the first one with Dried Cherry Blossom, which is a lot of fun.

I'm not angry or overly aggressive. I am just mildly annoyed by people who constantly misbehave and then pull back in some "oh but I didn't mean it" or "oh you just misunderstood me" way to pretend that there was no initial misbehaviour and then try to victimise themselves.
Have a nice day. And no hard feelings.
- You absolutely were overly aggressive (such is evident with your belittlement and name calling).
- If you weren't angry, you certainly could have fooled me.
- I had a knee jerk reaction. it's not misbehaving, because I didn't break any rules.
- I didn't say I didn't mean it. I meant what I said. I retracted it from this specific situation because even though I meant it, I misunderstood his original post and what I said did not apply. In order to act like there was no initial "misbehavior", I would have to not retract it. Unlike you, I'm not hiding from my actions (you said you weren't overly aggressive, when you were).
- I didn't victimize myself. I retracted my original statement literally yesterday. Today you come on here and go full keyboard warrior. You were in the wrong here. Make no mistake.
But yes, you have a nice day as well. This is where the argument stops. No hard feelings, my dude.
