Somebody who pretty much tried to intimidate a player seeking advice with his toxic attitude maybe should be able to handle a mild insult.
He did not say the perk was overpowered.
He did not provoke such a response at all.
Stop trying to make every post a survivor vs killer thing.
I even said "fair enough", which is a retraction. The only one who looks bad right now is you.
Bro, quit being so aggressive and toxic, jeez. You're arguing with yourself. You must have had a bad day. Chill, bro.

I read your pretentious late defense posts. Ridiculous. You tried to say OP would complain about the perk but he didn't.
Everything you said after that was pure alibi.
People like you make these forums toxic.
Says the guy who is literally the only one in this thread to have insulted someone. Yes, I must be the toxic one.

He was asking for advice... Maybe he is even a new player... And you prick have nothing better to do than complaining and trying to start some weird debate.
(clearly someone only read one post and made a rage post - enjoy prying your foot out of your mouth)
🤣

That reminds me of that ridiculous "new ruin is insidious" statement Almo made that one time...like...really?
*Ruin gives a visible notification that stays on your screen constantly reminding you of its existence*

I'm not talking about when they make the smart play... I mean they come crowd the hook after the killer has started camping, or they're across the map crouching around not doing gens.
Oh well, yeah. Those nerds are the reason camping is a viable strategy. They complain that campers need to be punished, when the ability to punish them lies in their hands lol
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Survivors crowd around the hook when the killer is camping, but they all stay on the other side of the map and leave me to die on my first hook when the killer is nowhere near me.
You'll find that a lot of the time a killer will camp because they know people are nearby waiting for the save.
Actually...in the games I play, that's 9/10 times when camping happens.
So, basically, when someone goes down, survivors shouldn't feel the need to ditch the gen you have at 80% progress just to go for the save, lol
-
So...
The objective of a killer is to kill the survivors. That is literally their only objective...and you want to punish them for doing it in the most efficient way possible (in some situations, anyway)?
So...we should definitely start punishing survivors for doing generators, by that logic.
-
Tunneling and camping are not balance issues. They are legitimate strategies.
-
Here's a perspective: No killer in the game is OP.
-
Meg.
-
Meanwhile, a killer DC's....survivors get a black pip and an escape.

Slight buff.

Then people would DC just to penalize everyone from ranking that match. Survivors can still complete objectives and earn all of their emblems even with dc's. It's not an issue for them - it's a serious issue for Killers who require the hooks for their sacrifice emblem.
Hypothetically, DC penalties would be a thing by that point. So no, they wouldn't.
-
So - make mori's useless.

Ah I know the incident you're talking about. I didn't know he had been booted from the Fog Whisperers over it though.
Yep. He even had fellow Fog Whisperer friends of his (which is literally all of the Fog Whisperers except for like..one) offer to leave the program in protest. He told them "don't you dare, they give you a ######### ton of free auric cells".
-
I'd say a DC should ensure a black pip for everyone. Survivors included. In fact, do a Rocket-League-like system, where if one person DC's, the game is no towards rank (or in DBD's case, MMR), and is purely for bloodpoints.

I mean of course, but even a stream sniping killer doesn't stand a chance against a team of 4, where 3 of them are willing to literally bring you items and die just to protect the 4th person at all costs.

Yes, he KEKW'd a joke tweet.

Who cares? Play by your rules. Not the survivor's rules. Camp if you want, and if they tell you you're bad, remind them that they died.

Give me 6000 people watching me, stream sniping me, bringing me items, dying for me and boosting me out the door, and I'll do it no problem. In solo queue? No chance.

How exactly when we're talking about killer content creators winning that many times in a row vs survivor content creators...winning that many times in a row?
Because playing killer is not the same as playing survivor.
That was my entire point. Survivor is easier to play, and easier to master, than killer.

- Hag issues with teleports, lunges, traps, etc
- Grabs from: gens, unhooks, pallet and window vaulting (you are in the grab animation, but are 'pushed' out of it, sometimes not even given a hit)
- Sound bugs (there are some for both sides, I know they're working on it, genuinely just want an ETA on it is all ^-^)
- Ghost Chainsaws (have had several with Billy)
- Dead Hard marked (marked as in you become exhausted) as going through, but hit anyway, even the dead hard exhaustion disappears before you are picked up. (Had this happen A LOT in the past few days alone)
- Stalking killers having trouble stalking via Dedi servers (not had this problem personally, but heard it was an ongoing problem for some)
Feel free to list your own list of fixes as long as it's kept civil! I am personally just wanting, if one, an ETA for the above fixes, even if just a guesstimated timeframe will suffice. So, if I am missing some that weren't given an obvious ETA, please do list them here. If you already know about ETAs for the above, please list the link as I'd like to see this as well. Want the gameplay to be better, and it helps, encouraging even, to have a timeframe of when things will get fixed/some love.
That's just the nature of dedicated servers. It's quite literally impossible to eliminate those issues completely, especially with all the people playing on VPNs. It's just a byproduct of latency.
-
I would be down for a mechanic being added that if you hadn't completed a total of one whole generator (either on the same gen, or just progress between all the gens) by the time end game happens (unless all gens have been completed of course) then the hatch shouldn't appear/open.

What in God's beautiful Earth does that have to do with anything in this thread?
The question is "should it be possible for survivors to escape this often". It's a perfectly valid counterpoint to point ou that yes, those survivors are dramatically better than the general playerbase, just like killers who are dramatically better than the average player can have stupid long 4k streaks with varying killers (especially considering that by design a 4k is probably harder to achieve than an escape). So if you're discussing one side it's reasonable to say that the same happens on the other side, and I'm personally OK with that when talking about such good players and it'd be hypocritical of me to suddenly have a problem with it when survivors do it.
No one is saying survivor isn't easier than killer because in no point of this entire conversation this got brought up.
It's not a valid counter because the circumstances are different.

Did Speed Limiter Bubba get nerfed after the 32 4ks in a row Scott did?
Did Plague get nerfed after this video got posted?
Maybe people who play this game for a living are, indeed, better than the average player in a game that very few people take seriously enough to be good at.
The whole "this is okay because this happened" argument isn't going to help prove any points v.v
The bottom line is, survivor is easier than killer. It's more plausible to escape, more, in a row, as survivor than it is to 4k as killer.

True, but there's a reason why streamer opinions are valued a little more, and its not because they just decided to open OBS one day. Its because they have thousands of hours of recorded proof of skill, compared to another person who is the same rank, but we've never seen them play a single time. It has nothing to do with being a streamer like, as a job, its just they have recorded proof of things, that's all.
I mean, having thousands of hours in a game isn't streamer exclusive though; but yes, that does help with the credibility.
But you can't deny the following size is a huge leverage point. A tiny streamer with 8000 hours in DBD who has streamed all of it and uploaded it all to Youtube could say...disagree with you or Tofu about something and their opinion could end up dismissed because of the amount of people who watch you vs them. So it's not always about recorded proof, but it is a huge factor. But that's a community issue, not a skill issue lol

the problem with "any other red rank killer main" is Red rank occupies an absolutely massive skillgap because the rank system doesn't work.
That's true, for sure, but you KNOW (mobile FTW) what I mean.

I totally agree. I thought it was obvious that we were referring to players that we know of. Of course there is going to be players who are not streamers that are better than the players that are well known. Just the best players that we know of.
However this game does have a skill cap. Once you reach the cap you pretty much have already peaked, can’t get much better than that. There are better players for sure but I wouldn’t say they are “head and shoulders better” than players who are at a high skill cap.
I'll even go one step further and say none of them are probably the best killer/survivor content creators. There's hundreds of skilled players who are streamers sitting at 0-3 viewers, and YouTuber's who are amazing sitting at 1-2 views a month because they don't clickbait like almost everyone else.
For example (kind of), @SpaceCoconut is a relatively small (in scale compared to others, but he's gaining a lot of ground) content creator who is trying to make their mark. He's not as big as Scott, Marth, Zubat or any of the "inner circle" of DBD streamers out there, but I'd say out of all of them, even Marth, he's a better Hag player.

Scott mains Oni and used to be a very good Huntress main, definitely the first to popularize Huntress and be very skilled with her. I do think he’s slipped from “top Huntress” though. Umbra and Zubat take that crown. However in the past he’s played all killers extremely well (except Nurse) and proven he’s one of the better players in the game that play killer. His guides are very well put together and have helped me a lot.
I watch Umbra’s streams regularly and the way she plays is so smooth and perfect. It’s like she has the mechanics of the game down pat. I rarely see her struggle or lose and she doesn’t use add-ons on most of her killers and she can play them all pretty solidly. I am a fan of hers though so my opinion may be a bit based.
I do think Zubat is great though for all round killer players though. I haven’t seen as much from him. I’ve seen more of his survivor gameplay (which I believe he and No0b3 are two of the best survivor players). I guess I just believe Umbra is a better Huntress player.
Marth on the other hand I can’t speak on because I’ve never seen their content but I’ve heard nothing but great things about them.
Again - them being content creators means nothing in terms of skill. For every content creator that streams DBD, or any game, there's someone out there who doesn't stream who is head and shoulders better than they are. Marth included. Marth and Zubat are just the best we know about. Again, I'm not saying any of them are bad (and I would put Ralph ahead of Zubat in terms of Huntress skill), they are just "nothing special" when compared to than any other red rank killer main. They are fun to watch, and that's why people hold them in such high regard.

Where are the videos of Tru3, Marth and Otzdarva 4king 50 or so games in a row?
Should killers truly be able to 4k that often?
You are dealing with some top players here so I'd say yes they will be above the normal rate.
I haven't seen Tru3 or Otz do that...
But Marth...when he does it, it's a bit different. He starts and rank 20 and goes to rank 1. So it's kind of artificially augmented statistically.
-
That's kind of a false logic. Most of them, aside from no0b, aren't really better than any other survivor. Ayrun is known for abusing things like Hook Techs etc.
A lot of the reason they escape so much (no0b included) is because people know who they are, and they get stream sniped etc by their fans, who boost them and help them escape. Though, you'll find those bits are edited out of the videos for obvious reasons.

Tunneling isn't playing well. I do agree DS should deactivate in certain scenarios but I disagree that DS doesn't discourage tunneling.
Actually, you could argue that tunneling is playing as optimally as possible, and therefore, is playing very well.
Since when did strategically eliminating someone *you know* is going to die sooner a bad thing?

You know that a rank should avaliate and put players together based on their skill?
Devs say remove ranks skill matchmaking to avoid showing that uncontrollabe error they have, and how do you thing the new matchmaking will work?
Put a high scape streak survivor agains a high kill streak killer? Well so thats the way it is right now.
The want you to believe in something that will be a placebo effect

Couldn't you ask for EAC to allow for changes to perk images?
I realise this isn't high priority or anything, but there have been massive amounts of people fearing bans for this while also being interested in trying it.
If you ask EAC yourself, they'll give you an answer. The same answer they give anyone. "We only ban for cheats."
I mean, it does seem pretty black and white, that perk icons aren't cheats, but either way, at your own risk.

I would personally add Scott Jund and Umbra to the list of extremely good killer mains. They are excellent players.
I mean...Scott mostly plays one or two killers, but I can't really put him on a list that makes him any better than any other killer main. Not that maining killers is bad. He's a good killer, sure, but no better than any other killer, really.
As for Umbra, I mean, she's good and all...but like, I do think she's overhyped. She's a very cool person and everything, but having a following does tend to inflate peoples opinion of you and your skill.
Neither of them are even close to Marth or Zubat on a list of god tier killers, though. Not that they are bad, cause they aren't. Marth and Zubat are quite literally just...head and shoulders above the rest.
-
@NMCKE said:
Just do the totems, they aren't that difficult to do.
The perk does reward bad killers, if you let it do so.
I'd also say it equally penalizes people who bring in toolboxes and gen speed perks.
I wouldn't say it necessarily rewards bad killers. There's killers who's playstyle is based entirely around the end game. NOED is crucial to that playstyle.
-
BHVR said they aren't going to ban for it, but if EAC decides to start monitoring these specific files, it's possible to be banned.
THAT BEING SAID, EAC only bans for cheats, and nobody has been banned for custom perk icons.

Not that face camping is excusable, but to have it happen 3 times with no gens done?
It's not the killers fault gens didn't get done. If he was standing in their face each time, truly face camping, why didn't ANYONE else do a single Gen? At the very least, by the time ONE person gets face camped to death without struggling, you can have 2-3 gens done depending on how many people are working together or bothering for a save.
Don't swarm the hook when a killer camps. It sucks when someone gets face camped to death but there's little to nothing you can do about it most games. There should always be at least one person working on gens if you're all still that adament about saving them.
The way I see it, camping is comparable to spawn camping in other games. And demoing in Rocket League. It's something that is generally considered scummy, but is allowed to happen. Nothing will ever be done to remedy it. We just have to take it and move on.
Face camping is excusable. The devs fully endorse it at a playstyle.

I don't think you some of you guys are listening to what I'm saying. I hear you that you say it takes 3 full people plus some. What I'm saying, is that was not the case in this trial. It did not take the effort you are describing to achieve what he did in this trial. I don't know if there's something wrong or if there is a bug or what. One other person was with me working on a gen and he was nowhere in sight of that gen. He actually had just attacked someone on the other side of the map. By the time we were nearly finished with that 1st gen, he was maxed out and insta killing people.
The thing is, it absolutely did take that effort. Perhaps you weren't aware you were being stalked and simply didn't notice (which happens more times than you realize), but it did take that effort. He stalked all of you, with 3 people getting max stalk. It's literally impossible that this did not happen. He did not get all that suck on one person. Period.

Frames are not nearly there...PC players on average run at 60fps and above. It's not even close to nearly there, and makes all the difference. It can completely affect how well you play.
