  • Most players are back on live server already....
And in fact it is actually about time and split the community by reating casual/ranked.
I am tired of having to dodge countless SWF

  • Sorry to say that, but the 1st one is a really stupid idea.
First of all, doesnt stack, so additional offerings are wasted? rlly bad design, not even talking about balance....

Second one is better, but you still have to stacking problem

  • Why are they all scared from michaeL? Just drop a pallet on him....

    I don't. Sometimes,
I wait for the killer to have to hit me, except if he doesn't seem to come around in time.
Against toxic killers (and I don't mean legitimate camping killers), I wait for them at the exit gates until they come, and just leave in their face to waste their time as much as they wasted mine.

Why do you wait for the killer that he has to hit you if he wasnt toxic?
And what do you consider a toxic killer?

Give it one more year, bros. They said this year they want to cha ge things up. Let them have it. By the end, if no progress is done....then I can't really defend them so much.
Just remember this, bad community = bad game.

    That sounds familiar

    Just saying.

Imo, next step is DS/Hatch and trapper rework, with a few possible tweaks but I doubt they're gonna remake teachables anytime soon.

I know, all we can do is hope.
If you lose hope, then you better uninstall, because the game is not worth playing in its current state tbh

I wonder how many survivors complained about the camper, while they were sitting in the grass, next to the hook. Waiting for the killer to leave.

Usually its the SWF toxic boys who click at me and force me to stand within 1 meter radius from my victum. I hate these games and I really dont know why the killer has nothing he can do in such situations (besides from giving a free unhook and earning nothing)

the real elephant in the room, the problem that no one talks about here, is swf.  survivors playing with mics is overpowered.  good luck not getting matched up with them.  they are the ones who make the killer a joke.  horrible to play against.  it is difficult (as it should be) to go against an organized team of survivors but with mics....i just can't compete.  i hope i don't need to lay out the case as to why but i will if i have to.

It has nothing to do with luck.
Just lobby-dodge the SWF matchups, if you go against them, then you do that on purpose and its kinda your fault

The game isnt even balanced if experienced survivors play solo, guess what happens if experienced survivors abuse voice comms as a tactical tool

@Wolf74 I consider camping and tunneling something bad killers do to try to get a win. I don't believe the game was designed for one player to get screwed and be out of the game in less than 2 minutes just because he was seen first. That being said, if a killer is against a good survivor team he will ensure his own loss and low blood point total if the survivors sit on gens instead of crouching around the hooked survivor. The main problem is that it's unlikely anyone will pip in this situation (unless the survivors all get caught and go out the same way). Camping and tunneling are fun for no one. Hooking, unhooking, healing, running, stalking and mind games are fun for everyone. I'm not asking any killer to allow survivors to win, I just want them to play the game the way it was meant and designed to be played. If camping and tunneling were things that were meant to happen...you'd get huge bonuses for doing them. What you actually get instead is a safe pip if your lucky, a pitiful amount of blood points, and everyone had a boring game...including the killer.

The game wasnt designed either that gens pop in a few minutes and that survivors run in circles

  • Rage quitting is already punished if you didnt know that. You have to DC in a lot of games though^^

  • Devs said that we can expect some perk reworks in the soonish future, I hope they will surprise is in a positive way

the he needs a buff not that’s add on that defeats the point of hiding

Not sure what you are trying to say, but DBD is not about hiding, it is all about running in circles. Sure, from the shop description you can be baited easily, I know....

  • @davidthyrat said:
not if you play him right and how is he weak on console you can bearly see him when his in his cloak and the sounds he make i never hear them

He is one of the weakest killers bro, even if played correctly

  • It would be kinda unfair if this was a usual horror game where the hiding part is the most important thing.
Sadly DBD is a nascar racing simulator and it doesnt matter whether wraith can always see your blood glowing at the ground.
The hard part of catching a survivor is to take him over on the nascar tracks around the pallets, not actually finding them

I wish it would be different, it would make DBD a lot scarier which is what I actually bought this game for.
Sadly devs show no intention to change that

  • @Molim0 said:
First of all i really enjoy the game and got "hooked".

But... I did play some times with Survivor to around 35, getting catched pretty fast, messing up skillchecks frequently and dont felt comfy with it at all. So i decided to play Killer and have never seen such a toxicity in any game i played, not even some famous Moba title got a community this salty and toxic.

I learned Pretty fast that you are forced to get almost every Killer to 40+ to get the desired perks needed to just stand any Chance against the infinite wall of SWF, DS, SC, BT, Purple Flashlights, Unbreakable, Teabagging, and getting flamed in every thinkable way. All gens are fired in 3-4mins, your chasing one person down after 3mins of looping teabagging and flashlighting, you get one guy, you are near the hook because 3 SWF guys trying to get one of the hook and you outplay them by grabing one of the hooked person you are a [BAD WORD] camper. If you chase down a random Person because hes injured and the last possible option to get some points you are a noob tunneler.

So plz someone tell me whats the right way? Join a game stare in the sky and wave your mouse as fast as you can until everyone is out?

You have no chance against a good Group of survivors without the must have perk builds unless you play Killer for 1000+ hours. Makes it really awkward for a new player :(

Ps: I know i Need to git gud, im on it :)

One advice, make sure you dodge SWF in lobby. If you see that several survivors join at the same time or shortly delayed, then there is a high possibility that its a SWF. Just quit and open a new lobby, as killer you never have high wait times because the majority prefers the easy playstyle as survivor

Another advice, dodge every twitch or youtube guy, they are the most toxic ones. Sure, there are some exceptions, but 99% of the time I didnt dodge a streamer, I regreted it in the match

  • @Nos37 said:
80% of the rage quits I see are Doctor matches. 90% of mine are, too.

    They always run Distressing.
It always covers half the map (or the whole map on certain maps).
All he has to do is check lockers if no one's screaming.
Tier 1 Madness messes with the skill checks.
Tier 2 Madness gives way to his crutch add-ons.
The Madness takes forever to get rid of and won't drop even if you're in a locker b/c the Doctor's on the same half of the map as you, pausing the regression.

Rage quitting against a doc, pathetic
They run distressing because they farm BP, thats the only reason to play doc, you cant play him competitively
    Check lockers? lel
Skill checks are easy AF, even if you are mad and the doc runs unnerving, no problem at all

Hey DBD can you balance the Blood points like the killer gets around 5 to 10 k more bloodpoints then a survivor. It's hard to get blood points as a survivor

I keep seeing people telling others who have an issue with the price of cosmetics to just not buy them or that they don't have to buy them.

You're missing the point of the discussion.

It's not about money, it's about value.

Many of us, myself included, think that the price of cosmetics in game time and money does not match their value.

Other game prices come up, but one point is always left out... Those games might be (I've only played Path of Exile) more fun, balanced, and less infuriating than DbD.

We've been asking for balance for years and have even been told to play another game instead of having our concerns acted upon. Who else remembers the pallet and flashlight stun fiasco? That was a deliberate change that the devs thought was a good idea....

Now we have a cosmetic cash shop with pricing meant to fleece us while we wait and hope that the game improves.

BHVR is asking us to give them more money for things that will not improve the balance of the game and trust that they will put that money to good use for balance IN THE FUTURE. Maybe another great idea like the Wraith cube...

This is the core of our (my) reluctance to buy cosmetics at their current price. I have a full time job and I own a small business, I can afford these things, but I don't feel good about giving these devs more of my money given the current state of the game.

I'd totally buy Lettuce Hag for $3 though.

    Fix the game.
    Balance it.
Take care of the player's concerns.
Make it fun for everyone, and THEN charge us a higher price for shinies... Earn our goodwill like the games they borrowed this cosmetic shop idea from and we'll gladly pay.

But right now, they need to show us they understand their own game and are going to take care of their player base...

Not just milk us for cash through an overpriced cosmetic shop.

Yes, but you have to stay strong and dont pay even a penny for cosmetics now. Otherwise they think balance is still fine, only by closing your wallet you can actually achieve something (dont think that they care about balance posts)

    Make perk effects more dynamic

Perks which effects the opponent(s) could be limited in their effect according to the loadout of the opponent. For expample:

    • A survivor uses DS against a killer. The killer has no perks loaded. DS could get a reduced chance to activate or a reduced stun time to the killer.
    • A killer uses IG against a survivor. The survivor has no perks loaded. IG could get limited in its efficiency.

In general I think, if the current loadouts of the gamers in a specific lobby can be valued in the way the better the counterattack, the better the counter-measures, it brings an interesting dynamic into the game imho.

    Make HEX-totems harder to locate

From my point of view, HEX-totems are way to easy to locate. It would be better, if they are harder to find. I myself had the strange experience when finding and destroying two hex totems next to each other.

    Make the grass higher

I had this interesting and horrifying feeling during playing DEATHGARDEN Alpha. You hide in the grass, the hunter stands next to you and you can't be sure, if he's going to find you or not.

Extend the maps, put the gens on exposed locations, reduce the time for one survivor working on a gen, increase the number of required gens to open the exit

If you make the grass higher, it's just fair, that gens are put on exposed locations. It makes it easier for the killer player to see survivors working on. Extend the maps because it balances hiding spots, long fields of view. Reduce the time needed if only one person fixes a generator but increase the number of necessary gens.

These are just my thoughts about the game balance.

Well just to weaken a single perk, its not worth running a no-perk build.
Devs are aware of hex problems, but its a problem affecting killer, so it has low priority sadly
High grass would be a nice idea if this game were about hiding. But this would need a complete rework/removal of the pallets, because hiding+looping is insane. I would totally be in for a horror game where you actually have to hide from the kilelr instead of flashing at him such that you can initiate a nascar race with the pallet as finish

Hex: Ruin needs a buff, such as a perks needed for delaying the game and giving a chance for the killer to get a performance above average, often ends up being destroyed within a few seconds as the game starts.
A new change could be made as follows for this new perk, this proposal only includes hex: Ruin and should not be assigned to any other hex.

    Changes:
We all know that once a survivor destroys the totem responsible for the hex Ruin, everyone is free from this curse, so we would change that, every survivor affected by the curse should find its own totem active and destroy it, this would be an individual totem for each survivor, remembering that this totem is an additional and all other totem who do not have an active curse continue on the map, so as an example in a game with hex ruin lvl 3 where all survivors are hit by the curse would have 1 totem active and 4 toten deactivated, so the active totem of each survivor is in different places and the survivor can only see the totem that effects him and not the others.

***remembering that it would only be this way with hex ruin, and no other hex perk.

    any suggestion will be welcome

Let this 2.0 update a new start for the game. Forget the past and try to look forward, assuming the patch is worth the wait and what we've seen in the PTB will indeed stay in the balance.

Killer mains cry about the perks that survivors have yet they have noed..nurses..BBQ (which you can not counter) and blood lust..yup blood lust main be for the pallet Loopers but if you're trying to get rid of SB and all our good perks you can't go any fast either...or have any perks that make you go fast like fire up..fighting fire with fire isn't the way to sovle a problem..but here are the killer mains yet again bitching about the op perks that survivors have yet yall have some too..
Just chop off our arms and legs so we can't move then maybe y'all would be happy..
But then again you'd find something to ######### about....

Noed and BBQ can both be countered easily, you dont even need a perk to counter it, just some brain
But sure, I will gladly throw oaway Noed and BBQ and fire up if we can get rid of survivor meta perks, any time

I think it was fine the way it was. I mean it was a ONE USE perk, how much more limited do you want to make the thing. I do not use it, not now or definitely not later when it's nerfed but it just seemed like such a moronic change just because some killers had bad games against four man SWF teams that all used it. Yes, in a full SWF group I agree it could be maddening but as a guy who gets to rank 1 as a solo player with randumbs every season would typically only see it used by one out of the four every game unless I ended up with 2-3 man SWF.

If you create a perk that everybody can use, then it must be balanced if everybody uses it.
Clearly you have never played killer against a DS team, I suggest you try and then we talk again, oh and I mean experienced survivors, not rank 20 fools who are caught within 5 sec after DS (if they hit at all)

Dev stream summary on reddit by our awesome ms_claymore

    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/8pcevt/developer_stream_102/

    Summary - Beware of spoilers!

    Panel: Creation of Chapter 8

For this DLC, they wanted to revisit the ranged attacks mechanic
They had a prototype for a killer power throwing balloons but without a special ability attached to it
At the beginning, they didn't exactly know which effect the gas in the bottles had
They made lots of addons that did different things (add damage to the gas, hinder the survivors etc)
Adding damage to the gas was too strong because of the area effect, so they dropped the idea
Movies were mainly used as references for the visual design; not the power
There's no connection between the new killer design and John Wayne Gacy as the community speculated
They look a lot at suggestions from the community, "it's really helpful"; "Keep doing it!" - J. Neveu
It gives them an idea what the community wants, but sometimes they're too survivor- or killer-sided
Process of creating the teachable perks of new characters:
They have a backlog of ~300 different perk concepts (community suggestions included)
15-20 perks from that backlog are picked and discussed in a meeting of the design team
The choice gets narrowed down to 10-ish possible perks
A survey is then created and forwarded to the whole team to comment on the perks, suggest changes and rate the perks
Taking the internal feedback into consideration, they try to trim the perks down to 4-5
These 4-5 perk concepts will be discussed in another meeting (design team-only)
At this point, they look at the new characters and try to base the perks on the lore of the characters
After making sure that the chosen perk concepts work technically, they start prototype-ing (names etc)
If a survivor stays in the individual parts of the gas cloud, they will breathe it in and that part disappears
Fear of clowns "didn't stop them", "it's a fear like other fears, sometimes it's time to face your fear"
"We know we're making a game that's supposed to be scary, so there's stuff in there that's disconcerning for some people more than others." - M. Cote
"We couldn't avoid the concept of a clown killer any longer [...] and it was highly requested"
They want him to be 100% believable; nothing supernatural (magic) or funny
"Ringmaster" and a "medicine man" were other references in the early concept stages
The horse, named Maurice, got partially burnt by the Entity, it's blind and the Entity gave him the third eye
The map was set in the Asylum theme "because it was time to add another map to that realm"
They want to revisit other realms with only one map

    Tinkerer

Add-ons that currently work with Tinkerer will be reworked to be more attractive without the perk
Possible perk rework: When a generator is repaired to 90%, the killer gets a notification and your terror radius will be reduced to 0 for X seconds
Please give constructive feedback about the aforementioned idea and suggest other changes!

    Perk concepts

IMPORTANT! Those are just concepts! The perks didn't make it because they didn't fit the lore of the new chapter
Killer: Every time you break a pallet, you get a token. Once you have 4/3/2 tokens, the next pallet you destroy will break instantly
Survivor: While in the dying state, 55/65/75% of your recovering progress is added to your wiggle progress once the killer picks you up

    Sidenotes

They acknowledge that the blind effects by flashlights is causing frustration and they want to revisit that mechanic at some point
Q&A's will only be held on reddit and for the Youtube videos, not on stream anymore
A community survey about the contents of the PTB will be released "soon"
No official release date, they will tell us as soon as it's set in stone
    Next week: Second anniversary stream!

"We know we're making a game that's supposed to be scary"

He is the guy who got completely demolished at that twitch event in asia, he should know by now that survivors arent scared

  • @Angaar said:

There are no infinites if you know how to counter/outplay them. As for looping in general, survivors can't do anything else there is no other way to escape. As for fast gens, THAT IS THE SURVIVORS OBJECTIVE they will obviously want to do it fast, just as killers can get all 4 survivors in a minute or two.

With bad RNG there are still infinites in the true infinite sense. I had it happen once to me on haddonfield.

But even if we are talkign about non-infinites, a SINGLE loopspot that wastes enough time for 3 gens to be done should NOT be in the game

If you chase a survivor for 3 gens it's not their fault

Yeah yeah I know, just chase another guy, nice advice

  • Who think freddy is overpowered? lol
Freddy is just a meme, not a killer, oh and btw nice tbagg behind pallet from a DS laurie, no need to keep watching, I know to what this leads^^

  • @White_Owl said:
Playing killer for me is impossible because I end up staring at my empty lobby forever, and as a survivor I only meet Hillbillies with the usual meta build or other killers (except the Clown) all with Ultra Rares and Ebony Moris. Honestly I can't bother to play with your most "op" build just because you don't loose addons and offerings in the live version, I'd just love to try the new things (especially the killer) but currently it seems impossible.
Please: play more survivor and less the old usual killers. Otherwise this ptb seems like a waste.

What a surprise, the clown is underperforming a bit in my opinion, nurse/billy is just a better option.
Survivors just enjoy the vacuum as long as they can^^

You know, Devs. I'm getting pretty sick and tired of facing the same exact player who just loves to lag switch the second that they can't catch a Survivor... 3 TIMES in a row. I'm not trying to DC 3 games in a row because you know, it's against the rules and ban worthy, but with the way the Emblem system is, finding different Killers and Survivors at Purple/Red ranks is almost non-existent.

You guys gave us a reason to dodge a lobby if the ping wasn't up to snuff. Please, give us another reason to dodge a lobby if the player that's in the role of playing Killer is a known toxic Killer that loves to ruin the experience by lag switching, because it's their only saving grace to catch a Survivor.

And before anybody says it, yes I have reported this player on multiple occasions. They're still in the game. I'd just really like to make more than 8k BPs and not have to resort to DCing against this player's like this.

Just DC, you will be fine
Your DC rate has to exceed 70% or sth, you will never reach that if you only DC against laggswitcher (I faced 2 of them in my complete DBD life)

    • How do you feel about the new perks, OP, underwhelming?
    • Did they solve the current issues? (pallet looping, other issues...)

Do you feel the content shoud be supported with money or its simply just not enough and they need to work harder on the changes?

I'm honestly curious about what you guys feel, sorry about the long post.

I will never ever spend money on DLCs again if I can acquire them with shards too, unless I want a licensed killer, but then I look at freddy and pig, well.....

If he had to aim at survivors during animation locks, had to bring add-ons for the blind effect, ran out after 20 seconds of use, could drop the add-ons when hit, and couldn't actually kill survivors, sure.

    Asymmetrical game, remember?

Aiming the bottle at a running survivor is more difficult than hitting a stationary target during animation lock, addons for blind effect? whut?
He runs out of bottles indeed and needs to refill, btw survivors can bring enough flashlights to stun you at every pallet and still have enough battery for flashlight saves
Drop flashlight, thats a point for you yeah

I have to admit that the game feels much less scary after you played it for a few hundred hours. It's more about getting better at juking or killing after a certain amount of playtime.
However - just watch a brand new beginner playing the game. Just as I did back then people hide in corners in fear of the powerful monsters of the fog, almost having a heart attack when a tier one myers appears from outta nowhere. Of course you'll get used to it and start to not be that terrified anymore, but I personally don't know other pvp horror games as well, that can keep this atmosphere over a long time.
It also happens to me quite often after I take a break from DbD that I am way more tensed up when I return. Sometimes I still get the horror feeling back.

Funny, but twitch/youtube speeds up the process of becoming a toxic looper quite fast now. I know a guy who turned into a semi decent DS looper in less than 50 hours ;D

Adding an SWF indicator will make it impossible to get games for SWF groups.

Realistically, it's not going to happen.

A killer who wants to dodge SWF simply dodges every survivor team who joins in the same time frame. This can also hurt solo players who happen to accidently join at the same time because they are so long in queue already.
The killer doesnt care because he will find a game anyway, there are enoguh survivors out there.

A SWF button would actually benefit the soloplayers, sure it might hurt some SWF because they would only face tryhard killers who prepare for them^^

I would much rather play with 3 other solos than a game with 3 premades. I'm a Survivor main, being paired up with a team makes my game easier and I dislike that.

Or it'll make it super annoying and they'll farm me. Hard to tell which will happen.

Usually when I have to play with a 3man SWF it ends that the 3 discord idiots just loop around the killer the whole game and save each other with their lightsabres.
I legit had a game where I had to do 4.5 gens because they didnt do anything. I rlly hate such games
