This whole I don't need no item or team perk needs to die and die hard. I suggest we change it to say reduce the rate of med kits you use on your self by 50/75/100% So it gets a kinda buff but you require and item to use it giving the killer some means to counter it

So just make it better botany knowledge...? That’s not a good idea really. In fact statically that perk barely effects survival, only effecting it mainly on solo...which only survives 30% of the time, thus needs to be stronger.

Do you make this stuff up?

    Clearly he does

  • Just take away survivors 3rd person and it will be a lot harder to loop

This has been an issue for while now. Some Survivors and Killers don't want to actually try for their wins so they purposefully depip in order to find games against players who aren't as good as them. It could easily be fixed by not deranking people as much during rank reset. An example could be that players in red ranks should only be brought down to either low purple (7-8) or high green ranks (9-10).

I thought BT was bugged and putting a Survivor into the BT state still subtracted the 30 Benevolent points from everybody, even though it wasn't a down.

You can hover at the same rank all season if you want to
Dont try to treat the symptons, cure the disease (unbalance and no incentive to rank up)

  • 1) DC happen because this is a "competitive" game but its balance is broken AF at the same time. There is no incentive to rank up, so why bother if you lose a rank. Also ranking up is so easily that it doesnt really matter, even if you wanna rank up (compare it with other competitive games e.g., I would never ragequit in a ranked game of rrainbow six for example because I dont wanna lose elo)

    2) That is not true, killer DCs give the survivor a blackpip even if it is not shown (known bug for ages now)
Btw if the survivors DC the killer loses addons and offerings while he gets 2500 BP only, after a killer DC the survivors get 5000 BP and keep their items+addons

    3) Yes you wont double pip every game anymore, but ranking up has always been time intensive. As a casual player it should not be your goal to reach the top ranks though. Trust me, killer might seem easy to pip at rank 20, but it will be way harder when you actually play against survivors who dont play like headles chicken

    4) Well, I feel like a lot of EU players currently left the game and have been substituted with a lot of asian/russian guys. I dont know in what region/time you play, but that is definitely a important factor

  • @Justice said:
This is a very obvious, very old, and very easy problem to fix. Killer loadouts (perks, addons and offerings) should not be visible until the last survivor is dead or has escaped.

Too many times many Killer's have been punished for being good, that is, sacrificing someone early. It's even more of a problem when you consider that the Killer will never know what perks/ addons the Survivors are running until the end game screen.

Devs, please remove the perk/ addon visibility until the game is over.

    Please.

    Thanks!

    -Mike

Simply create different gamemodes for SWF/solo. This is overdue anyway

  • Sadly its not going to happen, such a mode would be insanely hard to balance and the devs cant even balance their normal gamemode

  • @sumurtugu said:
There are no infinites if you know how to counter/outplay them. As for looping in general, survivors can't do anything else there is no other way to escape. As for fast gens, THAT IS THE SURVIVORS OBJECTIVE they will obviously want to do it fast, just as killers can get all 4 survivors in a minute or two.

With bad RNG there are still infinites in the true infinite sense. I had it happen once to me on haddonfield.
But even if we are talkign about non-infinites, a SINGLE loopspot that wastes enough time for 3 gens to be done should NOT be in the game

  • @Brady said:
This is my number 1 request. Out of all the changes, all the nerfs, and the buffs, I really want this.

Remove pallets all together for all I care. They're a clutch. I want ways to remove LoS and tricking the killer more easily than crouching beneath them to go back through the window, or mind games around the shack/pallet. Besides, shadowborn even defies most jukes cause your FOV is increased and you can often see they're small jukes.

Like, all we got are simply running around a circle until at some point we can make an unpredictable move that throws off the killer on where you went. That's not efficient enough nor that fun...and as easily traceable survivors are when injured, it makes it even harder. (Blood splats, injured noises, footsteps & footstep sounds, survivor breathing, grass movement & sound).

Offer us a way to hide, lockers are just wayyyy too obvious. When someone magically disappears,I wonder oh so dearly where they went...:P

Would be nice yeah, but it wont happen with these devs

Force survivors into 1st person, remove most aura perks of killer and voila we are closer to a balanced game than we are now, also it can be called a horror game again

The whole point of my post was to not drastically change gameplay. It's barely a horror game after the first 5 games. Forced first person on Survivors would be terrible as we stare for upwards of a minute at static gen parts. Not to mention the devs definitely won't do something so drastic so it just isn't sensible.

Ofc the survivor would be able to turn around their head just like the killer too.
This enables you to look around while doing a gen, just like you are doing atm, but without the abuse of 3rd person by looking around corners

But this game needs a drastic change, dont you agree?
In a game where you are aware of the killers posotion almost all the time, there is simply no horror aspect anymore

Your idea with the perks would be a nice start, but when you take a look at marths experiment, you see how much power the survivors have even without perks
The main problem of this game is looping and you can do that really well without any perk too

  • @steezo_de
what is your explanation then that the cosmetic prices are so insanely high?
Shouldnt additional revenue incoming make it possible to lower to prices?

  • @Saphira344 said:
You say that but think of it this way, your basically going in with a perk that isnt usefull unless your the last one in the match, and your basicly going in with only 3 perks, if every suviver now has to run Left behind just to stand a chance aginst the hatch being closed we are basicly forced into running 3 perks only. There needs to be a slite buff with gen repair when the hatch is closed without having to run a perk that might not be needed or used. Chance of you staying alive that long is about 25% if you get lucky!

Funny, but exactly this is what survivors suggest the killer all the time.
Get genrushed? Take ruin, have a dead perk after 30 sec
Cant protect your ruin? Take TOTH, have 2 dead perks after 1min+
Survivor then tells you to take OP noed, dead perk because it doesnt even activate sometimes
Cant find the lsat survivor? Use whispers
    Scared of flashlights? Use lightborn
    Too many toolboxes/medkits? Use franklins

    Should I keep going?

  • @MOMO_Chaotic said:

@Master In most of my games the survivors are suckers for the hooked person. If I notice the killer is a Wraith or Hag I'm pretty sure they're camping and they usually are, the same is true for hillbilly. If I know they're camping I won't bother and I'll try and do gens to punish the killer but when it's 2-3 quick downs and or rage quits it's a free win for the killer at that point.

I had a Wraith camp last night and as the only survivor i couldn't get the 4th gen done to make the hatch open, I'd get close but he'd just chase me down everytime. I actually had 4 wraiths in a row on Crotus and 3 of them all did nothing but camp and all had top of the line perks/addons and 2 had the ultra very rare mori sacrifice all by own hand offering.

Absolutely no skill required and 1 even flamed me post game telling me to git gud homo f*g etc when I called him out on it after he teabagged everyone. The 4th Wraith was really skilled and never camped and still managed to nail us all repeatedly.

I dont understand, how can a wraith tbagg you?
Is there something wrong using perks and addons or even moris?

Dont wanna insult you, but it sounds like you are hovering at really low ranks^^

  • @powerbats said:
Again campers get rewarded and usually do it in solo queue where more often than not their facing complete newbs/people with not much experience/gear. These are people that have all the great perks/addons and quite often have well over 500 hours played and prestiged 1 or more times. The issue is SVF groups and that's where the fix needs to happen and perhaps rewarding hooked survivors but only in solo queue and giving killers more incentive to actually go out and chase would fix it it.

As it stands campers and intentional deranked killers are being rewarded for abusing solo queue. If you reward a survivor for being camped they're basically acting as a sacrificial lamb so that hopefully your team does gens. That would be the only reason to reward a camped hooked survivor since as it stand there's no reason to go after a hooked survivor and reward the camper.

This is even more true when facing The Hag who simply marks the ground then goes just far enough away to where she can afk and wait for some sucker and also watch 2-3 gens close to that hook. The Wraith is the same in this case. If you get hooked and camped and your team does gens and you sit there the whole time and be bait perhaps a 500 bonus bloodpoint to say 1k max for dying for the team would be nice.

That last part would be open to interpretation for camping and could easily be griefed by both sides for farming.

From my experience as killer its exactly the opposite
The soloplayers wont bother about the random guys and will just go back to their gens and finish them.
SWF however will try to save their mates because their guy is crying in discord that they should get their asses up here and use BT already

Yes an incentive not to camp would do a lot, probably reduce camping by 80-90%

You can only do sth about intentional derankers by fixing the balance in this game (SWF, gentime etc etc) such that playing at high ranks is fun again

I have yet to get to experience too many distressing overcharges, but I will say... this is a loadout that gets steadily less and less useful up the ranks, and after a certain point... distressing skillchecks are not hard to hit unless you get multiple in a row that spawn in annoying parts of your screen

You're missing the point of the thread. This is not about skill checks. This is about not being able to go anywhere without screaming away your position at any given time.

sadly you dont need to be stealthy in DBD, guess why there are so many legacy outfits runnign around shining like fools and even clicking with flashlights at you

All you have to do is run in circles around the pallets and wait till your team has done enough gens, gg

Even though the shock can be useful during looping, it is not a counter at all and a good survivor knows that

Not everyone plays in that way. And how are you supposed to loop the Dr. In that way on the the game map? He can negate your ability to drop a pallet or vault through a window. He is very op in this way. Most people I've actually talked to find that he is annoying as a killer and for in most ways a lazy player. Although I gotta be honest. I think he's pretty decent killer if not for the onslaught of spamming shock treatment and carefully timed vault interuptioint. Plus not everyone plays PC so the high speed accurate mouse option is to there for a lot of people. Doing 360 and 180 Jules is a little more challenging. Now remember this is specifically to the game map. Not every map, despite that's it's still an irritating chore none the less with the Dr. in general.

Not everyone plays that way, yeah but about 99% of the survivors I verse
You loop doc like every other killer. You just need to adapt a bit and cant stay at pallets adn wait for the killer (which you shouldnt do anyway).
I can only suggest you try playing doc yourself and you will see how he can be looped.

    About the consoles:
I feel bad for every console killer and I honestly dont understand how they can hit a 360ing survivor with console aim. Its a sad thing that survivor is so easy to play that some high level pc player even play survivor with controller because it is more relaxing (marth does so e.g.), but playing killer with controller is just laughable

regarding the game map, I guess you havent played on it that many times. There are so many pallets on this goddamn map, its insane, maybe equip the new perk that shows pallets and you will change your mind

  • Everyone can choose not to rank up by simply DCing a few games or going afk in the basement/locker
Why do people do that? The answer simply is because they dont want to play compettively in an unbalaned game.

In ANY competitve game, there MUST be a casual and a ranked mode, everything else is pointless and will result into a mess at low ranks. And btw. SWF shouldnt be allowed in ranked and there should be anh option for the killer to choose SWF or solo queue, in SWF queue they could get more BP e.g.

And yeah I agree, if you equip BT, then you basically are granted a pip now

A small but maybe meaningful nerf to the doctor suggestion:
Survivors don’t start gaining madness by his terror radius until they are directly shocked by the Doctor at least once. Once fhey’ve been shocked once they can behin passively gaining madness.

    Reasons:
-Doctor doesn’t get a free “here I am” notification by just walking around and not actually looking for survivors
-Better rewards survivors who are good at hiding/evading

What is buffed in compensation? If you suggest a nerf on a killer who is already weak, then its kinda pathetic

People join in waves, with latency, that’s not reliable, and doesn’t help much to distinguish the different players, as both solo and SWF will likely join suddenly.

It works really well for me, even if they join 0.5 sec after each other, it susually a SWF
If you actually have to wait for the next survivor, then its no SWF

You can also check the profiles and check whether they have each other in friendslists (if they are on private profiles, then they are SWF almost every time)

  • @Fre_Shavacado0 said:
@Master i 100% get your point i was just curious about others thoughts on it, and yes most survivors are so toxic even to other survivors, but when i swf, my friend or i always sacrifice ourselves to the killer if they haven’t got kills or were trolled.

I would never give away a hatch if I was actually tryharding in the game.
In its current state however, I am staying intentionally in low ranks and have fun with "meme" killers.
When I verse SWF who are trying to bully new killers, then they will regret trying to bully me.

However, when I verse legit rank 20s, I will 3 hook them and even give away the hatch sometimes, but if they tbagged me, DSed me or flashlight stuned me several times, then there is no mercy either^^

So I just met a decked out SWF team with 2 flashlighters who acted as the runners, a super stealthy gen jocky and a super stealthy sabo man. I don't need to tell you this, but they all escaped. I almost had a kill that would have given me the full pip at the end, but they used an exploit which I did not know about to get him out.
Anyways, that doesn't matter. What matters is that at the end they pretended to be complete randoms. Does anyone know why? I cannot think of anything they get out of pretending that they were so synchronized by chance. The only thing I could think of is that maybe the are hoping to verse a streamer and make the viewers worship them or some #########? Even then, it wouldn't work because I do not know anyone stupid enough to believe their wild story.
In fact, I could only think of a downside to them pretending to be solos, and that is that anyone who does believe them would immediately jump to the logical conclusion that all 4 of them are wall hacking, as that is the only way to know where everyone is at all times without voice comms.
Any thoughts? I have never had this happen before and it just struck me as odd. Were they perhaps actually randoms and just using wall hacks?

You can see in lobby if they are SWF or not:
Do they join at the same time => think twice whether you wanna verse that, dont forget that there are a lot of survivors out there waiting for a killer match, why not do them a favour and let them play and ignore the SWF cheaters

  • Since blinking has changed you need to look up to pass some objectives, its really weird.
Then there is stuff you simply cant pass (lerys e.g.). You have to avoid such places just like you avoid the insane loops(infinites at the houses when playing a weaker killer

  • Yeah bann 25% of the killers, seems like a good solution

btw, I rarely have bad connections and then they are showed red in the lobby, you might check your own internet..... (probably your brother is watchign some filthy porn or whatever)

During my 500+ hours (~200 survivor) I have encountered 2 laggswitchers and one guy that was dubious, but I wasnt sure whether it was an actual laggswitch

what do you think about killing 3 and letting the 4th get the hatch? i only consider it if they’ve played well and fairly. as a survivor though it’s a nerve wrecking feeling when the killer downs you to take you to the hatch. other times it seems unfair? i guess it depends on the game? opinions?

Why though? Its your job to kill them
And on the other hand, I have never seen a survivor who gave me a free sacrifice just because all others escaped already and because he "feels bad for the killer"
    Is that unfair?

I cant wait till they finally introduce leaderboards and rewards and we will see what piece of unbalanced ######### this game actually is when survivors go into tryhard mode. Then devs are forced to do sth about it, different queues for SWF or whatever etc etc

i can understand charging for any new content. and making alot of it available through play time is incredibly generous.... BUT charging as much as 10+ dollars for 1 skin? thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard of.... you want to make this game fun. you want to generate an interest. i don't understand how you feel that price is even remotely fair....

    Here is my explanation:
Everything started with freddy, it was a interesting concept so a lot of DLCs were bought to play freddy. However, survivors cried about "OP", so he got nerfed into oblivion. Killers now hesitate buying new killers and will wait a decent amount of time after the release till evreyone has figured out how good the new killer is.
New killers will never be really strong because survivors would cry about it and because it would rise "p2w" questions, so why should you buy DLCs? Killers will be weak, survivors are all the same and perks can be acquired in the shrine too.

The solution is to do it like every other game. Give players the chance to buy cosmetics.
In the cosmetic store you can see that the survivor side has been given a lot more love than the killer side. This is due to the fact that killers will hesitate to spend money for a game where they dont know how long they keep playing (balance issues etc)

The solution is to increase prices for skins to milk those players who would pay money anyway and dont really care about he amount. Look at all the DBD streamer e.g. who will gladly buy all the shiny outfits to troll the killer even harder.

All this is coming from a main-killer perspective, so it might be a bit biased, but I tried to use rational arguments

Unfortunately most campers don't need an incentive to camp. They just do it regardless.

Look at it analytically. Chase times are so high and gen times so low. If you want to kill someone, do really want to let your victim escape? I had games where I was only able to get a single hook, and sometimes when facing flashligth SWF, even no hook at all, just saying

Well no disrespect intended, but maybe you just need to get better as killer if that was the case.

Funny, but this was exactly my first thought in this situation.
I started checking out guides and watched some twitch streams.
Then I realized that even killers with 2k+ hours stand no chance against these teams and that there is nothing to "git gud". Unless you are playing nurse, you are simply screwed when facing such a team.

Once I understood that I stopped trying to play competitively, started deranking in order to play "meme killers" and having fun that way. I cant have fun in a "competitive" game when I know that I just might be completely demolished cus I didnt play nurse, just gotta play it casually then

I always thought it was bizarre that with the killers they had these powers and passives that made them unique but the survivors only had cosmetic differences minus personal perks to bring to the table. The devs said they had considered giving survivors passive abilities and I think that would be an amazing idea. It would freshen up the game with perk builds, team strategies for who to bring in, and killer strats on how to counter them as they are setting up at the camp fire.
These passives should just give the slightest bonus towards the survivors’ personal perks playstyle (some survivors are iffy but hear me out) and then players can build from there when they have multiple perks unlocked across the board. Here are some survivor passive examples and please give feedback and if you think they would be balanced.

Dwight: automatic 1% leadership bonus aura
    Claudette: 5% increased healing speed
Jake: grunts of pain are automatically 25% quieter
Meg: footsteps are visable 1 second less than others
Nea: grants items she brings in/finds extra charge so they last longer
Ace: grants automatic 1% luck to every survivor
David: leaves behind less frequency of a blood trail to follow when injured (maybe this should be a perk in general)
Laurie: the killers’ aura reading ability on her alone is diminished 5%
Feng: has a 5% chance of not causing a generator explosion
Tapp: can crawl slightly faster in the dying state
Bill: generator repair speed increases the more survivors that are killed/dc
Quentin: opens exit gates 5% faster
Kate: SO Excited for her release (maybe give her a slight chance of not making a noise while vaulting since that’s her style)

Phew that’s a lot. But yeah thought a lot about this and would love love love to hear what you peeps think

Agreed, there needs to be something to make the survivors unique, sadly teachables ruined it for the perks
But this would require heavy rebalancing, so the devs wont bother

I've run into a 3 man SWF labeled Chika1, Chika2, and Chika3 and since I was winning and only 2 were left, I followed the Claud Chika into a corner where they DC'd so the last remaining one could get the hatch. Also don't play against a player named finger lickin good or clownin around because he's one of the biggest mechanic abusers ever. I dodge him due to how toxic he is.

Just dodge in lobby, there is a reason why devs left the option to leave the lobby
I really hope that they will adress the SWF issue soon, but I doubt it

Unfortunately most campers don't need an incentive to camp. They just do it regardless.

Look at it analytically. Chase times are so high and gen times so low. If you want to kill someone, do really want to let your victim escape? I had games where I was only able to get a single hook, and sometimes when facing flashligth SWF, even no hook at all, just saying

Yeah if the Killer on PS4 kills his internet it sends everyone back to the main menu without going to the result screen. Pretty sure you lose everything from the match progress and all. A lot of Killers are doing it Rank 16 and higher.

@Clyde this needs to be looked at. Killers are doing this on purpose on console.

If I were forced to play killer with a controller in this broken game, then I would turn into sth bad too

I mean quitting is a bannable offense either way. I very rarely DC. The only time in recent history I can recall is when I got stuck in the shack pallet and the killer rage AFK'd. Some people are just jackasses. I personally get it if you have a reasonable DC excuse.

Then again this is just more survivor mob mentality at work.

Its sad, but quitting is not a bannable offense. Only if you DC in 70% of your game, then it becomes a bannable offense

all the killers are dumb down slower .5 sec to 1 sec. in speed, and chases no one is afraid of them anymore. Killers are suppose to in steel fear they don't not anymore. Looks like the game is now a survivor game, bad news for all killers. The clown is one I would consider buying but not in the state he is now, and what is it with that cough every time he vaults it's like here I am really?, toxins really do nothing but make the survivors cough seems like. I like playing him for free and just because I play the PTB a lot dose not mean I'm happy with it graphics look good one good thing to say, aways what do you think?

This game has always been a survivor game, dont fool yourself

Hag is in desperate need of normal killer movement speed

She is not, the devs mentioned they tried to increase her speed within the office testing, and it would be too powerful, and I agree, I can imagine how strong she would be if she had the mobility of the strong killers and the power of teleportation traps at the same time
her movement speed is so that she can quickly make her way around to place traps, not to chase survivors around like a simple dofus, she's a strategist, not an offensive killer
I'd like to call it "Passive Aggressive", walk on her traps, and you die, leave her traps alone, and you won't get out

Nurse would still be more powerfull than hag at normal movement speed, but thats only my opinion

Had a match where Ruin was never found/destroyed, but that didn't matter they went through the generators like normal (They didn't have any Tool Boxes)

Is there any real point to this perk?

Would this be a case of Gen tapping?
Maybe the skill check to hit just isn't hard after 100 hours of survivors?

It will give you at least 30 sec, maybe even 1-2 minutes if you are lucky.
Considering that some games are finished after ~5 minutes it is almost necessary to run ruin

Has anyone had the misfortune of finding themselves with a Dr. that runs Distressing on the saw map? If you have then you will know how insufferable this is when nearly anywhere on the map but quite literally the corners will make you scream if he is steadily within the center of the map. This can be devastating of survivors are not communicating and finish all the gens on the "outskirts" of the map. As if to say they are all that spread out to begin with. (OPINION POWERS ACTIVATE)

I have played a lot of doctor and I can tell you that it only works against bad survivors. Good survivors know what to do against madness and even if you run unnevering distressing, they will still hit the skillchecks

At rank 20 doc on this map is kinda devastating, yeah
