  • Join the PC masterrace my friends.

  • Sprint burst deserves a massive nerf. It is just way too good (helps you go from unsafe to safe spots and allows very cocky play). I don't know how I feel about the nerf overall to exhaustion, but it really does feel alright. The way I play survivor involves me losing the killer anyways (breaking LOS works) and not just running in circles.

  • He is pretty decent, bamboozle+his fart bottles = cutting off lots of survivor's paths. He is still vulnerable to getting looped at safe pallets but other than that he is pretty good. He is just boring I guess to play.

I love my Trapper. Trapper is the OG of DbD and the Trapping Mastermind of ingenius precision. That is when I play him at least.

I'm beginning to feel like a Trap God Trap God...

I love the trapper, but whenever I play him he seems to attract trolls from all around the realm. I constantly get people running object of obsession when I use him that kind of follow me around trying to disarm my traps. I find myself swatting at them while I know they're giggling and sprint bursting away to the nearest loop..

  • Billy if I want to win, Myers if I want to have fun (which is usually the case). I can't stand playing the nurse/huntress, the huntress' hatchets seem to have a wonky hitbox and the nurse makes me feel nauseous playing her for prolonged periods of time.

This leaves the rest of the killers which are pretty much only for the memes (because the survivors dictate the pace of the game when you're not using one of the 3 strong ones).

  • Good stuff, lots of good replies here. I've always been running enduring and tested out brutal strength and I cannot tell the difference when I am running it or when I am not running it. I honestly am not sure how I feel about it. >_<

  • People cry about BBQ+C and it has only been around for like 6-8ish months. SB/SC have been around for 2 years and have been used all the time and the devs want to shake up the meta and what happens? People QQ.

I don't get it. I am 50:50 killer to survivor playtime and I approve of these changes as well. It is gross that you can recover from exhaustion mid-chase. If you don't like it then don't run everywhere. Spring burst is such a boosted survivor perk that its sad. It is so so strong because you can pretty much use it to get you from an unsafe spot to a safe spot. It is just as bad as DS for that fact.

Near the red ranks you always find survivors running SB/SC/DS/Whatever, they have been doing this loadout since the Halloween DLC was released.

Self care you can just bring a med kit instead and/or run bond. Bring on the changes and the reckless altruism can go back into the toilet with the DS/SB/SC running survivors' skill.

DS/SB/SC is the equivalent to the killers that use moris/insta-down hatchets every game. Just no skill at all. I hate playing versus that garbage and would be down with seeing some of the killers add-ons getting fixed because some make crappy killers way too strong (and I am talking about skill, not their kit). Nurses with 3-4 blinks are annoying to play against as well, and same with hillbillys running the 2 green add-ons with tinkerer, it feels too strong. But yeah, bring on the nerfs and bring on the new meta.

  • I had some that act a little bit salty towards me and try to add me post-game to grief me. When the survivors are instantly saving their teammates from the hook and I don't see anything on my BBQ/C radar then don't get angry. It is also frustrating when they rush the gens and try to last second rescue their friends. I ain't going to let you get a free hook rescue if they're about to go to the entity. Anywho, I can understand how some of them get frustrated especially when they play the high rank killers that always use moris/pink add-ons, but I am not that way. I don't even play nurse/hillbilly/huntress like the people that play killer 24/7 do.

nurses are all i ever see in tournaments. i tried to take my billy in one and got beaten senseless. but i'm not a rank 1 billy. i'm a solid rank 9 though.... i was surprised how poorly i did....

You put in a good effort dude. It just goes to show how decent/coordinated survivors dominate even "top tier" killers.

  • It is fine. Use a medkit. It still does what it is supposed to do it is just it can be interrupted.

Don't worry though BHVR will probably keel over because they can never let their precious survivors have a challenging experience. They enjoy the angrypugs and the rest of the survivors that expect to escape 100 percent of the time and make an @ss of the killers while doing so.

It is honestly gross how much people want the game to just be a “taunt the lion" kind of game. Let them roll out the nerfs and see how it is from there. For once maybe we will have a balanced game, because how it is right now it is probably an 80-90 percent survival rate for me, and if I don't I'll at least pip. Survivors have way more control of the game than killers do. It isn't even close. If you want a tiny challenge then let them go through with these nerfs. If you want this game to continue on being a circus then keep these threads coming. Survivors need to stop running everywhere and stop taking dumb hits.... not that hard.

  • Gen rush counter = run hex ruin + camp the totem.. :P

I agree with the looping being a pain because the only thing you can do to counter that effectively is play nurse. There is a reason when there is money on the line that you only see people playing nurse (and when they didn't they got some nice 0Ks).

  • DS is a joke. You don't need to escape every match. It is hard enough as it is at high rank with killer without a get out of jail for free perk. I used to play at rank 1 with people I could not even communicate with properly and we would smoke the killer more often than not. The game is a joke currently and if you don't think so you could check out tournaments and see patterns..

Why should survivors be allowed to have safe spaces? This is essentially what it is.

They aren't actually safe spaces. They're just overly strong juking spots that will ruin your match if you try to follow through, because, even tho you will eventually catch up at some point, it will be way too time consuming to be worth it.

Obviously, It's not very balanced, but killers had to deal with way worse back then, and I doubt devs will completely revamp great juking spots.

One of the main issue is the conjonction with Self-care, that allows people to just sprint to these spots and self-care directly there without any help if you drop them, which makes it rather riskless.

The sad thing is that they can waste way too much damn time in a place like that. If they are too lazy to fix the maps then killers need more perks to counter their broken maps. I am not even a good survivor and I can waste a hell of a lot of time in those places. Now imagine the tryhard SWF teams that only play survivor and use bnps/voice comms/the works.. this game is way too safe for survivors and its hard to say that its remotely balanced or that any dev could see that it is.

I get what you're saying, but the pallets aren't even the problem. The problem is you get maps like the one that has the barn or grain silo or car park and there are two windows in those buildings and people just loop those buildings over and over again because of the survivor being able to vault faster than the killer. This renders the perk bamboozle completely useless.

If the perk prevented people from using any window the killer went through for 30 seconds then we may have something, but for now they band-aid fixed something that didn't need a fix as bad (jungle gym windows), and every killer that isn't the nurse gets smacked by people that sprint burst to the building and then run it 3 times and then get hit and maybe do it all over again. It is a massive waste of time and completely skilless and what is even more disgusting is some of the killvivor mains (the killers that don't like to camp/patrol and play by the survivors rules) that tell us that survivors can't do things like breaking LOS.

Yep, like you said it's just a band aid fix. There's not as many infinites as there used to be, but there are still quite a few. At this point I just pray not to get a map with a massive looping area. But going after different people is the only strat I've found any success with. And it's not even much success.

The thing is is that I deal with t-bagging sh1tlords that try and take me there all the time. Chinese survivors are toxic as hell, and they cheat a lot too. The building loopers actually think they're good.

  • @Vell said:
Usually I just chase them for a bit, break one or two pallets, and then I go for someone else. It's not exactly a hard counter honestly, but it's the only thing I've found that works. Even with communication over Discord, most SWF fumble because they lack the knowledge of what pallets are and aren't already used in the loop they're aiming to do.

I get what you're saying, but the pallets aren't even the problem. • With the new cosmetics I've found it kind of pointless. It takes forever to max everyone out anyways, so I just try and get meta perks on all my killers and survivors first and get bloody prestige ones on the licensed killers/survivors only in case of the dailies :) It takes forever to max them out anyways, but it is do-able to max them all out and get P3 on everyone, it will just require a lot of playing, but the new cosmetics just look so much better.

  • Level 25. Going to try and stop prestiging everyone and just get every killer so that they've got meta perks and going to just play my one survivor too. Going to not prestige anymore since I enjoy the new outfits too much. :)

  • A good nurse. The ones that are good with her will slug everyone before you can even get a gen done. Broken add-ons+whispers = you cannot run from her. Everyone else is tolerable, but she is not fun to play against (and this is coming from a killer main).

  • It should only be able to be used when you're the obsession. Gut the hell out of this perk already and fix the stupid maps. Every game my time is wasted by stupid loopers with this perk.

  • @jiyeonlee said:
also they should know when random korean streamers competition happend

rules was other killers can use all add ons but nurse can't use any add ons
and survivors can pick 3perks each and banned perks already picked once

people liked its rules and how balanced competition was
but after only 2 nurse rounds in entire matchups people complaining hardly like "nurse is too overpowered for itself"
and they considered ban nurse immediately

result was add rules "both team pick the same killer"

but this shows how nurse is too op and middle tier low tier killers can be loop ezly

Yeah, it is pretty bad for people that need to face a good nurse. All she needs is whispers and they're screwed (the other team). I always have the unpopular opinion of saying that she shouldn't exist in this game and they should balance the game around the right-click killers but I always get smack talked after that. The game is very much in the favor of survivors. Last game I got run for 5 gens on one of the farm maps because of the barn/middle concrete loop spot+all the jungle gyms and yeah.. that isn't out of the ordinary. I did the same thing to a huntress just on my David when doing the daily to get chased for 2 minutes. This game is busted.

Hag 120% speed would be hilarious. I'd give you that.
Tho, I'm not sure you realize how strong it is to run 5% faster in this game to suggest such things.

one thing im sure about is american rank1 players looks 1~15 in asian players skilled
they are all different but no one seem incoursing right

That might be it. In asia the survivors are tryhard as #########. They bring in BNPs and flashlights all the time, and there is mad looping/bodyblocking on top of this. I think they balance the game around the people that have skill like MCote though....

I watch players from all over and I am playing killer at rank 15 after reset and the survivors play the exact same as how it is at rank 1 in EU/US. If you don't give up a chase they will loop you through a killer shack/pallet town for 5 gens. The only way I get fair games is if I bring in a mori, but I am running low on those.

This is an unpopular opinion but I wish they never had the nurse in this game because she is the only reason why probably that the devs don't take a look at the stats seriously at high ranks. They see some sweaty tryhard nurse running 3-4 blinks+mori every game and of course you're going to see close to 4Ks every game.. people like swifty/Marth88 and the rest of the gang that mainly play nurse skew the stats. I know marth is running an experiment currently showing how unbalanced the game is for killers, but the nurse is part of the problem.

Basically if you want to have fun in DBD it seems you need to play nurse or hillbilly or huntress with OP add-ons.

  • I am kind of happy that prestige is kind of worthless now, it made it easy for me to just nab the cosmetics and saved me from having to grind up each killer 3 times. I've got the classic killers at P3 already, but now with the cosmetics I can just focus on leveling them up and maybe spending BP on survivors instead just to make sure they get their loadouts so in case I have a daily with them they'll be ready to go.

    Nurses Calling
    BBQ and Chilli
    Ruin

    Self Care
    Sprint Burst
    Decisive Strike

These are the holy trinity for killer & survivor, their best meta perks with the 4th being down to preference.
Unless you're doing terror radius Doc, Insidious Leatherface or some other niche killer specific build these perks are the ones you will see most often on killers and survivors.
Until BHVR release something better or buff something weaker that can compete for a perk slot not much will change.

Except the survivor perks are way stronger than the killer ones.

Nurses.. if you hear a heartbeat then stop self-caring.

BBQ and Chili... hide behind a gen or try to get within range so they can't detect you, tons of high rank survivors do this to make the perk almost useless at high ranks except as a BP point generator

Ruin... how is it any good if it gets taken out before you can even get there?

    Now survivor time!

Self-care... allows you to body-block and provides you with one of the many ways of preventing a killer from completing his objective, allows reckless altruism, allows cocky behavior/plays.

Sprint burst... completely negates any left-click killer if they finally catch you doing a generator... just SB to a loop, wow you're pro!

DS... the most broken perk in the game by far, it is the equivalent to a mori without having to use an add-on.

  • @Grey87 said:

Why does this broken perk still exist in this game? Anyone?

Cuz the devs are afraid of upsetting the crybabies obviously

Every game past rank 15 has every single survivor running it. It is absolutely disgusting. I have to hook each one of them 3 times and on top of that they get a "get out of jail free" card which means I need to essentially put them in a downed phase 4 times per person, and for some odd reason the survivors are still spawning beside my hex:ruin and are destroying it still before I can even get across the map to defend it. On top of all of this they can loop the living hell out of me and on top of all of this they have BNPs and bodyblocking/flashlight BS. How on earth can they not see that this game is friggin' broken unless you are using a mori/OP add-ons as a killer? Why did I spend money on killer skins when I just get looped still for days? Totally going to mind-game safe pallets that make up a majority of the pallets still.

Back to World of Warcraft for me. Was fun blowing 100+ bucks for a few hours of loopage gameplay.

Before the update the first gen popped a little after I hooked the first guy, which takes from 30 seconds to 1 minute, now when I hook the first survivor almost always 2 gens pop, and almost 1 gen is completed per hook. Even using ruin won't prevent the first gen popping instantly, I tried several times.

It has been a thing since marth did his experiment. Sure, his intentions were great, trying to show the unbalance such that devs can do something about it.

Sadly the whole thing failed because devs are ignorant and dont give a #########, but at the same time survivors strated to realize how much power they have and how fast they can complete gens. Sad thing is that you even gain a lot of BP with this strategy, even if you dont pip every game

    It's a good thing.
It shows the unbalance of this game even more. The more we experience 3 to 5minute rounds, the more devs MAY (lol) realise how unbalanced the game is in the current state.

I am pretty sure they realized by now, but they show no intention to change the core mechanics

The biggest disaster was when you couldn't rank up as survivor because you did the gens too fast because the killer did not have hex:ruin. The game is really unbalanced unless the survivors take it easy on the killer.

I can understand them not wanting to use that idea until a Decisive Strike nerf, tho.

Decisive Strike is getting a buff.

This is not true. They did some concept about it, and now they're actually working on another project (no promises, once again), that will make DS to only stun the killer, but not drop.
    Proof : https://imgur.com/a/Uhx6cVj
As he says, it's a TEST, so it's gonna very likely be either in the PTB, or possibly opted out, like the previous TESTS for DS.

    About Boil Over :
The wiggling effect, as killer, is actually pretty annoying. Tho, the other power could definitely use a buff of a few meters to make it actually useful.

Does that even make a difference if they just wiggle out?

  • Why does this broken perk still exist in this game? Anyone?

  • I agree. I blew a ton of money on these killer skins and a good chunk of them are not even viable. The nurse should never have been added into the game and they should have just re-adjusted all of these awful maps instead of having only 1 viable high-rank killer.

It needs a nerf, but has to be still useful in a way for the survivor to want to use it still. Yeah there are perks in this game that aren't used that often, but completely gutting a perk right out isn't the best way to go about it.

  • They need to add more objectives for survivors. It is just done way too fast without hex:ruin.

  • Kind of hilarious. As others have mentioned, its all nice that they've come out with this overhaul and new killer.. but seriously.. same problems as 2 years ago and they backed out of the hatch update. lol. They're way too afraid of nerfing survivors in some way (gotta balance around those rank 20s). Glad to know that they're still dragging their feet and I don't need to re-install the game anytime soon. I still pop by the discord every now and check out the youtubers that look like they've lost their soul trying to still play killer (poor tydetyme and marth88).

D-STRIKE is not Over powered, it is alot of times hard to hit the skill check.

But I do kind of agree that survivors are easier than killer.

That feelin' when someone hit me with a d-strike and ran me for an extra minute on lerys.

That fee'ilin' when an extra sacrifice was robbed by a d-strike near the gate in the same game.

    That feelin' when you're wrong.

I can barely understand anything that you're saying will all of you feelin' fee'in' slangs but I'll repond about what I understood.
The fact that you can't catch a injured, slow survivor when you're almost as twice as fast is a problem.
And I am even a killer main.
Try to get a little better at catching survivors maybe.

Injured survivors run slower? Since when? Oh wait.. since never. So thanks for bringing that up.

Seriously man, its like totally so hard to run away from someone that is stunned and then you get to a window or something that gives you distance because you vault faster than the killer and then you do circles around obstacles and drop a pallet... then you go back to the window and do it in an another direction.. so hard.

I've hit rank 1 numerous times as killer and survivor and it is not hard as survivor. Don't pretend that I need to L2P when in reality it is the game that is completely broken. If there is a map that has a building then I guarantee I could run you around it for 5 gens unless you get lucky with the nurse or use broken add-ons with the other ones (insta-down hatchets, etc.)

The game is completely broken with map balance and DS is broken on top of that broken map balance.

I keep coming back to this game anticipating when they will finally address the balance issues and they dance around it because of people like you. Stop pretending the game/perks are fine when they aren't. A good chunk of high rank killers agree that DS needs a nerf.

Anywho, the hatch and all the other crap are minor issues (slug the 3rd survivor) and I don't feel like grinding for cosmetics so I'll be back when they finally get rid of that broken perk and stop balancing this game around rank 20 play.

  • Its like repairing someone's dislocated shoulder when they've got a gunshot wound. The maps are still broken and if they continue to be like that then the game will still be a broken mess with balance. They are nice fixes but they are not going to change people abusing pallet loops/buildings.

  • How about if WGLF gets a buff then NOED gets a buff in the sense that if you get downed after the gates are powered = you getting mori'd without the offering.. how does that sound?

Edit: Forgot to mention that I am trying to compare something to DS.. which is absolutely bonkers broken and NOED being that strong is an equivalent to that power level.

  • Right now on David I am running adrenaline/borrowed time/kindred/self-care... kindred is great when your team doesn't have enough oxygen flow to the brain and adrenaline is awesome in those clutch situations. BT/SC because they're OP

  • One of the reasons that I enjoy DBD is just because I don't need to hear the mouthbreathers over voice comms. It is precisely the reason why I stopped playing F13 because I couldn't stand hearing people gabbing the whole time.

  • You guys are arguing semantics. OP is correct. Too many time wasting spots exist in this game. Play killer and you'll see.

  • Going to add the massive time wasters here:

    1) Thompson house fences are safe, there are four of them and you can waste a ton of time there. There are the hay bails that are also safe and you can waste a ton of time there. And there are four jungle gyms with pallets there that you can waste a ton of time there.

    2) Farm map variants always have a ton of jungle gyms/safe pallets/loop-able buildings.

    3) The school map has the school which can be looped for 3+ gens easily.

    4) Asylum map has the asylum which can be looped for 3+ gens easily.

    5) "The Game" map has way too many pallets and is only killer favored when you're memeing with the doctor.

    6) Swamp maps still have too many cat tails and safe pallet sections which they can easily loop and then go towards the boat or the middle area which can be looped hardcore.

    7) Groaning storehouse.. loopable pallet sections with killer shack nearby which causes an even more gross loop. The entire mid section... why...

    8) Haddonfield has a house that has two stair sections that can be looped easily and then you can drop through a window and the killer will take an eternity to catch you. Can easily be looped and little/no mind-game there.

    9) Red forest middle building area... again.. why... lol...

    10) Ironworks of misery.. the entire factory middle area is a huge time waster.. no mind-game at all.

If I remember anymore I'll add to this list, but these areas require no thought at all and are abused constantly in the purple/red ranks.

  • Camping is a legit strat, however, it only pays off against super altruistic teams. I have seen numerous times where a rocket scientist Leatherface decided to camp and I see my teammates crouching nearby instead of doing generators.

If you know that there is a leatherface as a killer in your game then there is a 90 percent chance that they will play like this and you can safely just repair generators and get out. That is why I never see high rank leatherfaces because they tend to just sit and camp and the survivors are not dumb enough to try and dance around the hook and rescue.

    in Camping Comment by Markness
  • Anything is good for that perk. Survivors are running it all the time. We need more variety in this game instead of sb/bt/sc/ds.. it has been like that for as long as I can remember.. why release new survivors and new perks if they're going to be never used and just clog the bloodweb?

He does buff me because we are repairing generators faster. It is a selfless perk, but it still is more likely to get you an escape emblem compared to a lot of other perks. Soloing as survivor it has its uses because you find the nearest claudette and repair away. I am the generator king and that perk just makes it a lot better for me

  • It should be a high-risk high-reward perk, IE. if you're not a obsession then you shouldn't be able to use it. If it means that NOED gets neutered then that is cool for me, but DS is in its own league of brokenness, there is no other perk that is remotely near it in terms of how broken it is. If you play at higher ranks the chance that a survivor is running it is super high and that isn't a coincidence. They really need to nuke this perk similar to how they did with save the best for last.

  • Try verifying integrity of game files. Go to properties -> local files -> click verify integrity of game files.

    That fixed it for me.
